209. <p>Soon after, two armed killers found her in a restaurant in Quevedo &#8211; and shot her dead. </p>
210. <p>Shocking CCTV footage shows killers storming into the restaurant and gunning down the model queen.</p>
211. <p>She was seen glancing towards the door as the killers sneaked into the place without her knowledge.</p>
212. <p>As the first assassin ran toward them, Párraga fell to the floor while the man next to her ducked for cover.</p>
213. <p>The masked attacker then opened fire, shooting towards both the model and the man.</p>
214. <p>He then stood next to her as she lay helpless on the floor before repeatedly firing shots at close range.</p>
215. <p>Both attackers then rushed out the door and fled the scene.</p>
216. <p>Subsequent images showed the former beauty queen lying motionless on the floor in a pool of blood, with a bullet wound clearly visible on her right thigh. </p>
217. <p>The killers are believed to have been hired by the widow of a cartel boss who had an affair with Mrs. Párraga Goyburo before he died violently in prison.</p>
218. <p>Police are currently investigating the murder while trying to identify the attackers.</p>
219. <p>They were believed to have been hired by the widow of Leandro Norero &#8211; a cartel boss who had been romantically involved with Párraga before his violent death in prison. </p>
220. <p>In December 2023, Párraga&#8217;s name was mentioned in a conversation made public by the Attorney General&#8217;s Office as part of a major organized crime case the agency was investigating.</p>
221. <p>One of the 52 people indicted in the case is Helive Angulo, who is said to be the manager of Norero&#8217;s assets.</p>
222. <p>During the conversation, Angulo told the cartel boss that the police had asked him about Párraga.</p>

227. <p>The transfer of funds to Párraga&#8217;s bank account is being investigated by the Attorney General&#8217;s Office.</p>
228. <p>This agency has never prosecuted the beauty queen and she has never publicly commented on the case. </p>

566. <p>In June 2001, Danielle caught the bus to school in Tilbury, Essex.</p>
567. <p>Sadly, her family never saw the teenager again.</p>
568. <p>Danielle&#8217;s mother, Linda, then received a phone call at 2:30 p.m., informing her that her daughter had not come to class.</p>
569. <p>Recalling that time in her life, Linda said: &#8221;For Danielle, it was very unusual.  She would never dream of escaping.”</p>
570. <p>After a few hours, Linda called the police, while her husband Tony went to his sister and Campbell&#8217;s house to see if they had heard anything from Danielle.</p>
571. <p>However, he could not get an answer.</p>
572. <p>That night and for the next week, the teenager&#8217;s family and friends combed the East Tilbury area looking for Danielle.</p>
573. <p>They also waited at the train station in case she arrived.</p>
574. <p>Everyone went out to search, except her uncle.</p>
575. <p>Campbell&#8217;s lack of concern raised suspicions among the family and investigators, who decided to run a background check on him.</p>

581. <p>While his alibi said he was at a DIY store half an hour away at the time Danielle disappeared, police discovered a conviction for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl a year earlier.</p>
582. <p>He had just received a suspended prison sentence, told his wife that he had been exonerated and that he had kept this a secret from his family.</p>
583. <p>The incident was not a one-off &#8211; he posed as a glamor photographer to lure young girls to his home, where he then took inappropriate photos of them.</p>
584. <p>Campbell was also jailed for four years at the age of 18 for robbing a teenage girl.</p>
585. <p>Five days after Danielle went missing, Campbell was arrested, leaving Linda &#8221;completely shocked&#8221;.</p>
586. <p>However, he was later released on bail due to lack of evidence.</p>
587. <p>Police then began building a strong case against him.</p>
588. <p>As they built the case against Campbell, officers discovered handwritten notes to his “Princess” found in Danielle&#8217;s pencil case, a bag containing sexual lingerie, handcuffs hand and – most importantly – a briefcase with white blood stains containing Danielle&#8217;s fingerprints.  ADN.</p>
589. <p>Phone records also refuted Campbell&#8217;s alibi and in August 2001, he was arrested for Danielle&#8217;s kidnapping and murder.</p>
590. <p>Linda said: &#8221;I never thought I would be in a situation where I would have to tell my sons that their sister was dead and their uncle was responsible.&#8221; </p>
591. <p>Killer Campbell never revealed where he hid the female student&#8217;s body after murdering his niece in 2001.</p>
592. <p>More than 1,500 locations have been searched to find Danielle, who has been missing since June 18, 2001.</p>
593. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Where is Stuart Campbell now?</h2>
594. <p>In 2002, Stuart Campbell was convicted by majority verdict and jailed for life for the teenager&#8217;s murder.</p>
595. <p>At the time, he was told he would spend at least 20 years in prison.</p>
596. <p>In 2019, Danielle&#8217;s mother Linda said she did not want him released if he had not revealed the whereabouts of her body, citing Helen&#8217;s Law.</p>
597. <p>In January 2023, after serving 20 years, Campbell became eligible for parole. </p>
598. <p>However, he was denied release by the Parole Board and he is still serving a life sentence.</p>
599. <p>The Parole Board told the BBC: &#8220;We can confirm that a panel of the Parole Board has refused to release Stuart Campbell after reviewing the paperwork.</p>
600. <p>“The Parole Board&#8217;s decisions focus solely on the risk a prisoner may face to the public if released and whether that risk can be managed in the community.</p>
601. <p>&#8220;The panel will carefully consider a range of evidence, including details of the original crime and any evidence of behavioral changes as well as explore the harm and impact of the crime on the victims .</p>

612. <p>Helen&#8217;s Law refers to the Prisoners (Disclosure of Information) Act which came into force in January 2021.</p>
613. <p>The law means that criminals who do not reveal the location of the victim&#8217;s body or the identity of the child abuse victim will not be granted parole for their crimes.</p>
614. <p>It is named after the murder of Helen McCourt by Ian Simms in 1988.</p>
615. <p>Simms was released from prison without revealing the location of McCourt&#8217;s remains.</p>
