  130. <p>The president of the Philadelphia university reiterated that they would &#8220;not tolerate&#8221; campus destruction, harassment or intimidation of students, faculty or staff and any speech that is &#8220;explicitly racist, antisemitic, or Islamophobic.&#8221;</p>
  131. <p>&#8220;Nor will we allow anyone who is not a member of the Drexel community to trespass into our buildings and student residences,&#8221; Fry said.</p>

  138. <p>Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that there were 19 arrests following the protest at the university&#8217;s Fisher Bennett Hall. </p>

The third-party candidate threatens to siphon off critical voters from each of them in what is expected to be an extremely close race. Knowing this, Biden and Trump have recently ramped up their efforts to discredit the independent candidate, who only appears to be digging his heels in further.</p>

  271. <p>Trump last week accused Kennedy, a former Democrat and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, of being a “Democrat ‘Plant’” put in place to help Biden win the election. “He is not a Republican so don’t think you’re going to vote for him and feel good,” the presumptive Republican nominee said in a social media post.</p>

  274. <p>Biden, meanwhile, broadcasted the endorsements of more than a dozen other Kennedy family members last month in an obvious attempt to marginalize the third party candidate.</p>

  277. <p>“In a broader sense, candidates and campaigns like predictability,” says Kevin Wagner, a political science professor at Florida Atlantic University. “They like to know what the patterns in the electorate are, how to appeal to those and allow them to figure out what it takes to win. Third party candidates can really throw those calculus off and change the dynamic.”</p>

  280. <p>But how worried do Biden and Trump really need to be about Kennedy?</p>

  283. <p>Polling is a tricky indicator. History shows that third party candidates tend to poll higher than they perform on Election Day.</p>

  286. <p>“Third party candidates tend to do a bit better when you’re further out because it&#8217;s, in some ways, a measure of dissatisfaction with the current candidates,” Wagner says. “And I think it&#8217;s fair to say that there is a fair amount of dissatisfaction with the current candidates.”</p>

  289. <p>Kennedy’s level of unfavorability is lower than that of both Trump and Biden. He’s averaging about 10% of the vote in national polls, according to Sarah Feldman of the research firm Ipsos. But any percentage he actually garners on Election Day could be a significant number in a close race.</p>

  292. <p>“It spells worrying news for their 2024 elections, particularly in battleground states, since they both will need to coalesce some independents within their base to win in November,” says Feldman.</p>

  296. <p>Polls should be examined with caution, she adds, as “we&#8217;re six months out from election, so polls are not very accurate or indicative of what the results will be come November at this juncture in the election.”</p>

  299. <p>To be sure, Kennedy’s numbers do not indicate that he will come close to becoming a major contender in this election. But his race could still be consequential, and he knows that.</p>

  302. <p>&#8220;Our campaign is a spoiler. I agree with that,&#8221; Kennedy said at an event in March to announce his running mate, wealthy tech lawyer Nicole Shanahan. But &#8220;it&#8217;s a spoiler for President Biden and President Trump,&#8221; he added.</p>

  305. <p>Kennedy, who is seeking to benefit from the divisiveness surrounding this election, paints himself as the alternative to two unpopular candidates.</p>

  308. <p>“Forty-three percent of Americans identify as independents,” Kennedy <a rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1790758680381591981">posted</a> on social media on Wednesday. “If Americans are ever going to escape the hammerlock of the two-party system, now is the time to do it. These are the two most unpopular candidates in living memory.”</p>

  326. <p>It’s too soon to say whether his share of the votes cuts into Biden or Trump more. Kennedy’s supporters “really reach across a wide swath of the American public,” according to Feldman.</p>

  329. <p>He’s a “cross-cutting candidate,” Wagner says, meaning “his issue choices don&#8217;t align perfectly with either candidate.”</p>

  332. <p>Kennedy, however, still has his work cut out for him. As an independent candidate, he won’t automatically appear on any ballots. Kennedy on Monday said he gathered enough signatures to get on the ballot in Texas. His campaign claims to officially be on the ballot in six states and have enough signatures for ballot access in eight others.</p>

  338. <p>While the campaign was in a celebratory mood earlier this week, it has been dealing with a series of challenges, including one that recently raised questions about Kennedy’s health.</p>

  345. <p>The Kennedy campaign confirmed to U.S. News that Kennedy did have a parasite but said it no longer impacts his health. “The issue was resolved more than 10 years ago, and he is in robust physical and mental health,” according to Kennedy’s campaign press secretary Stefanie Spear. “Questioning Mr. Kennedy’s health is a hilarious suggestion, given his competition.”</p>

Keeping viable candidates off the debate stage undermines democracy.”</p>

These are wide enough for me, and I even could have probably gone down a size.
