Hicks was Trump’s former White House communications director and campaign aide.

 55.
Prosecutor Matthew Colangelo questioned Hicks. During her testimony, Hicks stated that she “was concerned” when she received an email request for comment from the Washington Post regarding a piece on the “Access Hollywood” tape.

 56.
“I was concerned about the contents of the email. I was concerned about the lack of time to respond. I was concerned we had a transcript without a tape. There was a lot at play,” she said.

 57.
Hicks told the jury that she had “a good sense this was going to be a massive story,” adding that it was “a damaging development” to the presidential campaign.

 58.
“lt was all Trump all the time for the next 36 hours,” Hicks said, referring to the media coverage that followed the release of the tape.

 59.
Hicks claimed that former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker told her during a phone call that the deal the tabloid made with former Playboy model Karen McDougal — who alleged she had an affair with Trump — was “for magazine covers and fitness columns and that it was all very legitimate.”

 60.
She said that Trump “wanted to hear that from David as well.”

 61.
“I believe I have a recollection of us calling and David repeating that to Mr. Trump,” Hicks added.

 62.
Hicks claimed that Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, told her the story about the $130,000 so-called hush money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels was not true and that no payment had ever been made. She noted that it “would be out of character” for Cohen to make the payment himself.

 63.
Before Trump’s attorney, Emil Bove, started his cross-examination, Hicks began tearing up on the stand and had to take a short break.

 64.
When she returned, she told jurors that Cohen had tried to “insert himself” into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and go “rogue” by taking actions not approved by the campaign team. She noted that his unauthorized activities frustrated the Trump team.

 65.
“He would try to insert himself at certain moments, but he wasn’t supposed to be on the campaign in any official capacity,” she said of Cohen. “There were things he did in a voluntary capacity because of his interest.”

 66.
“He liked to call himself a fixer, or Mr. Fix It, and it was only because he first broke it that he was able to then fix it,” she told jurors.

 67.
Anything else?

 68.
On Friday morning, the prosecution submitted recordings from Cohen’s phone as evidence in the trial.

 69.
Bove noted that between 2016 and 2023, “all sorts of things have happened” with Cohen’s phone, which “present questions about the reliability of the evidence.”

 70.
Prosecutor Chris Conroy asked witness Douglas Daus, a forensics and technology expert, whether he saw “any evidence of tampering or manipulation on any of the data that you pulled related to the recording that’s in evidence.” Daus replied that he had not.

 71.
During Bove’s recross-examination, he asked Daus whether he noticed “gaps in the handling of this data that created risk for such tampering,” to which Daus replied, “Yes.”

 72.
House Republicans, led by House Judiciary Chairman Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), recently launched an investigation into Colangelo, a former top Department of Justice official, Blaze News previously reported. In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Jordan argued that New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s decision to recruit Colangelo as a lead prosecutor in the criminal case against Trump gave the “perception” that the DOJ is assisting in the “politicized prosecution” of the former president.

 251.
Houston’s Bellaire High School yearbook for 2024 also does not include the perspective or experience of any of the school’s Jewish students, many of whom have also affected by the terror attack and its aftermath.

 252.
The school, attended by more than 3,100 students, featured the page as an Arab student’s “account of the Israel-Gaza confict”.

 258.
The student provided an account of what the day was like as someone who had family friends in the Gaza strip.

 259.
“Many movements started right after then that were pro-Palestine after that attack, which motivated me and my friends to also take a stand. We had to show the world that we wouldn’t stop fighting for our freedom,” the student was quoted saying at the top of the yearbook page.

 260.
A photo of the page was shared by concerned Bellaire High School parent Yafit Bar on Facebook, who wrote “if this is not a wakeup call, I don’t know what is.”

 261.
Bar told The Post this is the first year she has a child in public school, adding it’s “terrifying” for her.

 262.
“This is personal,” Bar said, adding that her brother Leon Bar was killed in Israel in the wake of Hamas’ terrorist attack on October 7.

 304.
The New York criminal case against former President Donald Trump continued Thursday with a hearing on additional alleged gag order violations and testimony from the prosecution’s witness attorney, Keith Davidson. Davidson previously represented porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, both of whom allegedly had an affair with Trump.

 305.
Davidson testified that he never saw a copy of the so-called hush money agreement between “David Dennison,” allegedly Donald Trump, and “Peggy Peterson,” allegedly Stormy Daniels, that was actually signed by Trump. He saw only an agreement signed by Cohen, allegedly on Trump’s behalf.

 306.
Additionally, Davidson noted that there was a side agreement that did use the parties’ real names. That agreement listed Peggy Peterson as Stephanie Gregory Clifford, Daniels’ legal name. However, it read, “David Dennison a.k.a.” followed by a blank line.

 307.
According to prosecutor Joshua Steinglass, the side agreement did include Trump’s name, but Davidson admittedly was the one who handwrote it. Davidson noted that he has never met Trump and had never even been in the same room as him until these court proceedings.

 308.
Davidson claimed that he received a call from Cohen after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, expressing frustration and anger that he was “not going to Washington” with Trump “after everything I’ve done for that f**king guy.”

 309.
“That f**king guy is not even paying me the $130,000 back,” Cohen allegedly stated, according to Davidson. The money referred to the payment Cohen sent to Daniels for the alleged agreement between Trump and her.

 310.
According to Davidson, per the agreement, Cohen instructed him to tell the Wall Street Journal that the allegation of an affair between Daniels and Trump was not true.

 311.
Davidson made a statement to the WSJ in 2018 on behalf of Daniels that read, “I am saying with complete clarity that this is absolutely false.”

 312.
The attorney rejected the corporate media’s use of the terms “hush money” and “payout.”

 313.
“It wasn’t a ‘payout,’ and it wasn’t ‘hush money.’ It was consideration in a civil settlement,” Davidson argued.

 314.
He noted that Daniels made plans to appear on Jimmy Kimmel’s show despite the settlement agreement because she wanted to “talk about her life and reinvigorate her career.”

 315.
Trump’s lawyer, Emil Bove, played a recording of Davidson telling Cohen that Daniels wanted the money “more than you could ever imagine.”

 316.
Davidson went on to say in the recording, “If [Trump] loses this election, and he’s going to lose, we all lose all f***ing leverage. … This case is worth zero.”

 317.
Davidson testified that like Daniels, former Playboy model McDougal was also attempting to revive her career.

 318.
According to Davidson, McDougal said selling her story of having an alleged affair with Trump to the National Enquirer was her “dream deal.” He stated the contract between the tabloid and McDougal promised her a monthly column on aging and fitness in Star and OK magazines.

This represents one of the most accessible welcome promos among leading sports betting platforms, as DraftKings mandates only a $5 deposit and wager to qualify.

 499.
Upon placing your initial bet on any market or odds, regardless of its outcome, you immediately receive the bonus bets. Furthermore, in the event of a winning wager, you stand to profit in cash.

 500.
In addition to the standard welcome offer, DraftKings presents an enticing bonus: a no-sweat same game parlay available every day throughout the NBA playoffs.

 501.
With this offer, you either cash in on a winning parlay or have your stake refunded if it falls short, each day you engage in a SGP during the NBA postseason.

 504.
Bucks vs. Pacers Pick

 505.
Despite significant player shortages, the Bucks have displayed remarkable resilience over the last three games, refusing to surrender without a fierce battle.

 506.
Defensively, their focus lies in restricting Indiana’s offensive rebounds and preventing uncontested 3-point shots. Throughout the series, 3-pointers haven’t posed a significant threat.

 507.
Offensively, the Bucks exhibit proficiency across the court, consistently delivering strong shooting performances. In every one of their 10 encounters with the Pacers, spanning both regular season and postseason, they’ve managed to notch at least 109 points.

 508.
Offensive production remains robust, regardless of the lineup. Even in the event of a loss, anticipate the Bucks to maintain competitiveness and keep the contest close.

 509.
Pick: Bucks +8

 510.
How to use the DraftKings promo Thursday

 511.
While the DraftKings newcomer offer is straightforward, let’s delve into a quick example of the welcome promotion.

 512.
Creating a fresh account enables me to wager $5 on various options, like the Pacers at -310 to secure an outright victory over the Bucks. With bonus bets awarded regardless of the bet outcome, favoring moneylines simplifies the process, increasing the likelihood of cash profits alongside the bonus.

 513.
Upon placing the bet, an instant $200 bonus bet is credited. Depending on the Pacers’ performance, additional cash could be earned from a successful wager.

 514.
These bonus bets remain valid within the platform for seven days, allowing flexibility to distribute them across multiple wagers for potential cash gains.

 515.
Moreover, during the NBA playoffs, a daily opportunity arises to craft a same game parlay with a safety net.

 516.
This parlay entails selecting multiple lines from a single game, such as the Knicks at +3 (-110) and an over/under of 201 total points. Both components must succeed for a cash win, and in case of a miss, DraftKings reimburses the stake loss. This safety net applies to each day of same game parlays throughout the NBA playoffs.

 550.
1990s nostalgia has quickly expanded from the pleasant memories inside a Gen Xer or Millennial’s mind into a gigantic economy. No stone has been left unturned to squeeze every penny out of nostalgia addicts, collectors, or even gamers; and they couldn’t be happier about it.

 551.
The world wide web is riddled with ’90s nostalgia pages with millions of followers, offering glimpses into the past that remind us of a time that seemed like it was free of global conflict, political divide, or any emotional trauma. It’s a world where footage of people shopping at a mall in 1996 is watched by 560,000 viewers in just eight months.

 552.
The nostalgia hits so hard that a video of nothing but 1990s commercials reached 1.5 million views in just three months.

 553.
Perhaps nothing stands out more in the mind, however, than a trip to Blockbuster Video. The smell of the popcorn, the wall-to-wall coverage of new releases, and the eye-burning pleasure of playing new video games before they come out.

 554.
Even Blockbuster pop-ups have become a thing, visiting Los Angeles, New York, and other locations. Netflix also saw fit to release a documentary on the last surviving Blockbuster franchisee, which has become a tourist destination in Bend, Oregon.

 555.
Why Blockbuster? “Blockbuster represented ‘community,'” says James Keyes, chairman and CEO of Blockbuster, Inc. from 2007-2011.

 556.
“It provided an opportunity to gather and to explore. It also, to many, represented a childhood tradition … [of] making it a ‘Blockbuster night,'” Keyes continued. “It was all about the experience of having access to entertainment that had previously been relegated to the theater experience.

 557.
“Blockbuster allowed you to see your favorite movies at home,” he added.

 558.

 559.

The ‘90s were an incredible time to be a teenager.
You knew your friends’ phone numbers by heart, you walked to Walgreens to get your film processed from silly pics you took at summer camp. You could let your generalized teen angst out with some Smashing Pumpkins, but really, nothing in society warranted true concern.
— Jennifer Boardman, copy editor for Blaze News

 560.
The feeling of that experience has turned out to be quite lucrative, and plenty of new experiences are capitalizing on it. For example, an entire video game studio was developed for the genre.

 561.
Combining the love of retro with the sanctity of physical media, Limited Run has produced physical copies of over 1,000 games, the latest of which was a sold-out run of a game based on the “Rugrats” cartoon. The company released original Nintendo cartridges, along with VHS collector’s editions for the ’90s-inspired game.

 562.
In a much larger scope, we can see the nostalgia market at play in the experience genre. Along with the aforementioned Blockbuster pop-ups, the 2025 Universal Epic Universe theme park plans on capitalizing on that same market. The park will include a Super Nintendo World, one of many themed experiences already popular in Japan.

 573.
What made the ’90s so … ’90s?

 574.
“Why were the ’90s great?” asks Blaze News senior editor Dave Urbanski. “Incredible music. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins. …They don’t write ’em like that anymore.”

 575.
“Back when trans-fat was the only trans we knew, we would make crank calls on a public telephones then wander over to the arcade at the public swimming pool,” added writer Joe MacKinnon. “After dinner, which was probably as delicious as it was unhealthy, we watched the 2-day rental due back yesterday, never once worrying about what was happening outside our fair city.”

 576.
The obvious ingredient in the nostalgia genre is Americana. This is also apparent to Keyes, who served as the 7-Eleven CEO from 2000-2005. That iconic American brand stands out for many reasons, he explained.

 577.
“With its ability to keep pace with change … the brand stands for the American Dream,” the executive told Blaze News. He noted that franchisees have come from over 130 countries to participate in the American project and leverage entrepreneurial power with the scale of a global corporation.

 578.
Also key to an American franchise, Keyes added, is the ability to implement technology to keep up with consumer needs. “7-Eleven is highly nimble and uses technology to respond – in real time – to changes in everything from weather to consumer trends,” he said.

 579.

 580.

The reason I can tell the 90s were so great is that during every decade of my life, some portion of it has been devoted to returning to the 90s and appreciating more about it.
If I could time travel, the 90s would be the decade I’d be returning back to the most.
Today, the great artists of the world are just nomads roaming around a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
— Cody Clarke, filmmaker

 581.
While the new marketplace for the ’90s may be in full swing, Keyes doesn’t believe that certain verticals can return, particularly DVDs and CDs. When asked specifically about Taylor Swift’s recent monster sales of vinyl records, the CEO pointed to a key difference in the medium.

 582.
“Vinyl represents an actual improvement in quality versus most digital experiences; hence, the popularity with music aficionados. DVDs do not represent an incremental improvement in quality versus most streaming; therefore, the return of DVD popularity is unlikely.”

 583.
In response to a possible comeback for physical copies of games or movies, Keyes simply said, “Not a chance.”

 584.
James Keys, former Blockbuster & 7-Eleven CEO

 585.
Gen Z & the future

 586.
The possibility of replicating, in any sense, the feeling of the past seems nearly impossible. Many attribute this to social media’s ability to reach every corner, allowing for very little exclusivity or mystery.

 587.
“Before social media, you went weeks or months over the summer not seeing your friends, and then finally saw them at school. Now, you’re constantly stalking each other. I think it was the last time I truly missed someone,” said “Shallow End” podcast host Katherine Krozonouski.

 588.
She and cohost Natasha Biase pointed to a time free of political correctness and overstimulation. “Growing up in the ’90s was a real blessing, there was an overall sense of unity that’s lacking in our culture today. Gen-Z kids are on their phones all day,” Biase added.

 589.
Social media, lockdowns, and a lack of connection have caused a void in work ethic among the latest generation, UFC President Dana White has said.

 590.
Or, to quote him directly: “This next generation is just such a f***ing group of p***ies, man. For the small group of savages out there, run these f***ing kids over man, run them all over.”

 591.
Entertainment writer Christian Toto added that “cultural rot” at the collegiate level has sunk in, and “outraged citizens” are too focused whipping up cyber-mobs with just a few clicks.

 592.
Keyes does not see it that way.

 593.
“I disagree with those who are disparaging of the next generation. Are Gen-Z workers different from Baby Boomers? Of course! Just as the Boomers were different from the generation before. Change equals opportunity and ‘different’ isn’t necessarily ‘worse.'”

 786.
Fernando Bobis, 42, an internal medicine doctor, was one of the 109 people arrested at Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus, where rioters had broken into an academic building, occupying it for more than 20 hours before university officials called the cops for help.

 787.
“Five and 1/2 hours in a holding cell with no bathroom, no water, no food. I had a hard time checking my insulin to make sure I was okay. I’m Type 1 diabetic,” Bobis, a Washington Heights resident, told reporters after his arrest was processed at NYPD headquarters.

 789.
He was among several busted protesters who were released from One Police Plaza Wednesday morning — as hundreds of their comrades greeted them with cheers and handed out bottled water, food and sunscreen.

 790.
The Brown University graduate, who said he previously took general studies courses at Columbia, wasn’t the only non-student arrested overnight.

 795.
He allegedly threw a water bottle at a female cop when she and her fellow officers tried to clear one of the encampments, police sources said.

 800.
Barnard College student Maryam Iqbal was also identified as one of the people arrested in the police raids.

 803.
“This has only strengthened my commitment to the movement for Palestinian liberation and I promise to continue fighting for divestment,” she wrote.

 804.
Iqbal also claimed her first bust led to her suspension and eviction from Barnard, a punishment the Columbia University-affiliated women’s college handed out to at least 53 students following the first wave of arrests.

 807.
Another student, Aidan Parisi, 27, a postgrad in social work at Columbia, was spotted being arrested in photos from the Tuesday night raid.

 808.
He was suspended from the Ivy League in March for hosting an event titled “Resistance 101,” which garnered backlash after one of the speakers insisted that “there is nothing wrong with being a fighter in Hamas.”

 809.
Parisi has repeatedly made anti-Israel social media posts in the past, most recently writing, “Good night. F–k Israel,” on X following the initial arrests at Columbia.

 810.

Protesters were walked through the corrections department at 100 Centre Street. William Farrington

 811.
A tent encampment sprung up on the university campus nearly two weeks ago as students demanded the school divest from Israel and provide full amnesty for those arrested and suspended at the encampment.

 812.
At around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after talks between the demonstrators and school leaders broke down, group of masked rioters stormed Hamilton Hall — an academic building on campus — and barricaded themselves inside.

 813.
Columbia and its leaders — including President Minouche Shafik — faced backlash from all sides for letting the situation devolve and ultimately said in a statement that the school had called in the NYPD for help.

 814.
Mayor Eric Adams insisted Wednesday that the seizing of Hamilton Hall “was led by individuals who were not affiliated with the university,” though he conceded that some in the group were students.

 815.
He claimed “outside agitators” descended on the campus as part of a “movement to radicalize young people.”

 816.
One student, who only identified herself as Melissa, said Wednesday she and others were peacefully protesting when the raid occurred.

 817.
“Last night we experienced extreme police brutality. Despite peaceful, peaceful, protest, the police ambushed us,” she said, adding that her pinkie was injured after being handcuffed.

 818.

Footage from inside Hamilton Hall shows a swarm of officers entering the college building. NYPD

 819.
Rashid Khalidi, professor of Arab Studies at Columbia, likened the current protest to the famed 1968 demonstrations on campus that saw students unite against segregation and the Vietnam War.

 820.
“We honor the day students, who in 1968, oppose genocidal, illegal, shameful, war,” Khalidi told The Post. “Columbia University honors them… One day, what students did here will be commemorated in the same way.”

 821.
Joseph Howley, an associate professor of classics, echoed the criticism against the school, claiming when the administration first called police on students on April 18, “they made the encampment a flashpoint.”

 822.

The raid was the second, large-scale attempt to clear out the anti-Israel protesters occupying Columbia University. REUTERS

 823.
“I am a devoted faculty, steward and servant of this University, and I could not be more furious that we are out here doing this again already,” he said of the recent arrests.

 824.
Howley claimed that the university was ultimately bowing to the demands of “some Jewish students,” even if it meant arresting other Jewish students who took part in the protest.

 825.
“They’ve use the feelings of some Jewish members of our community as a fig leaf for suppressing all speech on this campus. so that’s how we got here,” he added.

 826.
The elite institution remained under a partial lockdown Wednesday, with only those with Columbia IDs and essential personnel being allowed on campus.

 862.
As it normally does every four years, the global United Methodist Church is currently holding a general conference to vote on church matters and policy. However, unlike recent conferences, this year’s delegates have signaled a desire to revamp the church’s policies regarding human sexuality.

 863.
This year’s conference is underway in Charlotte, North Carolina. And while there are still several days left in the conference, delegates have already approved measures that will have a major impact on the church.

 864.
One of the most significant measures involves regionalization. The measure would give the region of the United States greater autonomy to establish and enforce policies, especially in regard to LGBTQ issues. The regionalization measure passed with 78% of the delegate vote, but it still must be approved by local annual conferences, which are expected to consider it within the next year, NPR reported.

 865.
Many United Methodist congregations in other parts of the world, such as Africa and the former Soviet Union, still strongly believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. However, many of its U.S. churches have moved radically in the other direction, refusing to enforce bans on gay clergy and marriage.

 866.
“I celebrate that this is a beginning of a new way of being a worldwide church, where our voices are actually heard, and we can begin to listen to one another in new ways,” said Rev. Deanna Stickley-Minor, the executive director for mission engagement.

 867.
Bishop Tracy Smith Malone of Ohio, who celebrated that the vote “decenters the U.S.” and “dismantles colonialism,” was even more exuberant. “I had to contain myself,” she said after the vote to approve the regionalization measure. “We get to be the workers in the vineyard, but this is God’s vision.”

 868.
Another vote gave LGBTQ activists even more hope. In a staggering 667-54 vote, the United Methodist General Conference delegates decided to upend rules and policies that favor traditional marriage and heterosexual clergy and that denied funding for gay ministries, the AP reported. Now, church leaders may soon be able to consider openly gay individuals for ordination or positions on church boards.

 869.
Later this week, delegates will also vote on whether to change church law and policy to include gay clergy and same-sex weddings. Rev. Tracy Cox, lead pastor of First United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh, is hopeful.

 870.
“If you are called by God to be an ordained elder or deacon, no church, no institution should step in that way,” she said earlier this month. “And as far as marriage goes, when somebody falls in love with someone, we need to be able to help them to raise a family or to be a family in the community where they’re going to serve.”

 871.
These votes demonstrate a marked shift in United Methodist congregants’ views on sexuality and marriage. Just four years ago, delegates reaffirmed traditional marriage by voting to penalize clergy who performed same-sex weddings.

 872.
But in the years since, many congregations — particularly in the U.S., where United Methodist was once one of the largest denominations — broke away, appalled at the progressive direction the church appeared to be headed. This same movement to break away in favor of a more conservative denomination then likely played into the hands of their more liberal counterparts. Without conservative voices — and conservative delegate votes — at the 2024 conference, the progressive measures have sailed through easily.

 873.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the church’s website still promotes traditional marriage and family among its social principles. “We affirm the sanctity of the marriage covenant that is expressed in love, mutual support, personal commitment, and shared fidelity between a man and a woman,” the website says.

 874.
It also claims that “sexual relations are affirmed only with the covenant of monogamous, heterosexual marriage” and calls the practice of “homosexuality … incompatible with Christian teaching.”

 875.
Whether those social principles will change by the end of this week remains to be seen.

 876.
The following video provides a brief summary of the conference’s agenda on Tuesday, highlighting a group confession against sexual harassment and a ceremony to affirm dozens of deaconesses and female home missioners:

 1054.
The 77-year-old Brooklyn grandfather crushed to death by his own car during a dispute over a parking space last week was a “very mild-tempered” man who wouldn’t lose his cool, his son told The Post.

 1055.
Iosif Lontsman would certainly not have raised his voice at the woman in the other vehicle during the parking beef in Sheepshead Bay on Thursday because “he has too much respect” for women, his grieving son, Mark, said during an interview Tuesday.

 1056.
“My dad was a very, very mild-tempered individual throughout his life,” Mark Lontsman said. “No one knows what was on his mind, what he was feeling. Just based on me knowing him, if it’s probably about parking, he would come out and talk to the lady.

 1057.
“He’d do it politely — not go out in anger and fury, especially with a woman,” he said. “He has too much respect for females to go out in any kind of anger. That was never like him.”

 1058.

Iosif Lontsman, 77, was crushed to death by his own car during a dispute over a parking space in Brooklyn. Mark Lontsman

 1059.
The elder Lontsman, a doting grandfather who grew up in Kazakhstan, stepped out of his Subaru Forester to speak with the 43-year-old woman behind the wheel of a second car during a disagreement over parking at Avenue W and Ocean Avenue around 4:30 p.m., police said.

 1062.
As he got out, his car, which was still in drive, hit him and pinned him between the Subaru and the woman’s Nissan Altima, according to police.

 1063.
A worker at a local store said the driver of the Nissan had tears and tried to help, to no avail.

 1064.
“The lady, she tried to help,” said the worker, who asked not to be identified. “She put her foot on the brake.

 1065.
“She was shouting, ‘Help, please help, please help,’” she said. “He was a nice guy. It hurts. He is a human being. He had children. He had grandchildren.”

 1066.
He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.

 1067.
No charges were filed in the freak accident.

 1068.
“At first I was in disbelief,” his son said. “It doesn’t hit you right away but the sorrow just builds more and more every day and then you come to the realization he’s not here.

 1069.
“We are dealing with not knowing what really happened, the uncertainly of what happened makes it more difficult to deal with,” Mark Lontsman added.

 1071.
Iosef Lontsman’s family roots are in the Ukraine and Belarus, but the family fled Jewish persecution and ended up in Kazakhstan, where he grew up and met his future wife, his son said.

 1072.
“My mom told me she was looking for a good-looking Jewish husband who was family-oriented, determined and had the ability to build and support a family,” he said. “They were absolutely a team.

 1073.
“They were a good match. They completed each other,” the son said. “When she passed, a part of him died with her. It was like half of him disappeared.”

 1074.
His grandfather migrated to the US in 1989 to build a better life for his family, and worked in construction.

 1076.
He doted over his two grandchildren — a 12-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. Mark Lontsman said the two youngsters were so attached that he hasn’t had the heart to tell them yet that their grandpa is gone.

 1077.
“He was helping out from the day they were born. He’d push them around in strollers. He’d take my daughter to ballet classes. He’d take my son to the playground,” he said. “When he came to see my children and he heard my son’s voice, he’d come running and hugging him.

 1078.
“My son would say, ‘Hey grandpa,’” he added. “We haven’t even told them yet. They wanted to go to my dad for Passover. They asked, ‘Why didn’t we go?’ We told them grandpa wasn’t well.

 1117.
Twerking teenagers were caught on surveillance video recently vandalizing a Los Angeles-area business called Pink Sponge Home Cleaning, KTLA-TV reported.

 1118.
What are the details?

 1119.
The station said vandals broke into the Glendora business in the early morning hours of April 20. Surveillance video from the Pink Sponge’s rooftop parking lot showed at least three teens carrying out vandalism, including blasting a fire extinguisher and chucking a large object at one of the company’s 25 pink Volkswagen Bugs, KTLA said.

 1120.

 1121.
Of course, two of the vandals also were infamously caught twerking atop the hood of one of the cars.

 1122.

 1123.
“They kicked in every headlight they could,” Jennifer Ahlgrim of Pink Sponge told KTLA. “They pulled down the windows so hard, they broke the regulators. They carved on the hoods of cars.”

 1124.

 1125.
“They tore open a door and threw products over the side of the building,” Ahlgrim added to the station. “It was disgusting.”

 1126.
Dumb and dumber

 1127.
You’d think that today’s teens would be savvy enough to know that just about every business is outfitted with surveillance cameras, but the dumb teens either didn’t know or didn’t care.

 1128.
Dumber still is that police told KTLA gang symbols were carved upon some of the Pink Sponge company cars, and that led them to a juvenile suspect — a 15-year-old gang member from La Verne who was arrested in connection with the break-in.

 1129.
Authorities added to the station that they have the suspect’s cell phone and are hoping to use it to find the two teen girls who were involved in the break-in.

 1130.
Meanwhile, the outfit is picking up the pieces after 18 of its vehicles were heavily vandalized to the tune of $25,000 in damages, the station said.

 1131.
“I couldn’t understand how someone could do something like this to a company that’s trying to do good,” Ahlgrim added to KTLA. “It just doesn’t make sense.”

 1132.
The co-founder of the company added to the station that the insurance claim was denied because the company had been vandalized previously.

 1133.
A GoFundMe has been organized to help the business with the cost of repairs and the loss of many of its supplies, KTLA noted.

 1313.
“We’ve all been there – that unmistakable aroma of a BBQ drifting through the air, tantalizing our senses and leaving us craving the taste of smoky goodness. But what if you could capture that irresistible scent in a bottle?” KFC wrote of the bizarre swag.

 1314.
The original recipe is called No 11 Eau de BBQ. It comes in a sleek-looking 100-milligram black and red striped bottle that sells cheaper than a five-piece tenders combo for a modest $13.82.

 1315.
Makers say it can leave one “tipsy with hunger,” per The Mirror.

 1320.
Although the battalions of Colonel Sanders’ forces have pulled stunts similar to this before — KFC previously made a chicken-odored firelog and perfume in Spain — people who have tried it say this one isn’t that much of a gimmick.

 1321.
“If it wasn’t for the KFC logo at the bottom of the label, I would have assumed it was a high-end fragrance,” a reviewer for England’s Warwickshire World wrote.

 1325.
Instead, the “elevated” fragrance presents a shockingly “muskier alluring scent” than expected.

 1326.
Tom Ford fans might have a bone to pick with the chicken company, though, as the luxury designer has its own wood-smoked fragrances that go for $250.
