For the first time in more than two weeks, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has submitted a multihit effort.Lee batted 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot, though the Giants only managed five hits in total in their 6-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Monday (local time).Lee leads the Giants with 34 hits this season as a rookie.His previous multihit game had come on April 20 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, 14 games ago.Lee had seen his batting average drop from .289 to .244 over those 14 games, but it inched up to .252 after Monday’s game.

Ador, a sublabel of K-pop powerhouse HYBE, will hold a critical board meeting Friday in what is expected to mark a decisive moment in the protracted conflict between the sublabel’s CEO and HYBE.Sources in the music industry said Tuesday the meeting will take place at 9 a.m. Friday at an undisclosed place in downtown Seoul.Convening an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting is on the agenda of the upcoming board meeting, according to other media reports.Earlier, the lawyer for Min Hee-jin, CEO of Ador, told reporters shortly after a court hearing last Tuesday that the board of directors would convene a board meeting by May 10 and an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting by the end of the month.

Korea has been deliberating on Indonesia’s proposal to reduce its payment for a joint development project for the KF-21 fighter jet, the state procurement agency said Tuesday, amid an ongoing probe into an alleged technology leak by Indonesian engineers.Indonesia has reportedly suggested paying only 600 billion won ($441.9 million) in total for the KF-21 jet project, after originally agreeing to pay 1.7 trillion won, about 20 percent of the 8.1 trillion-won program launched in 2015 to build the aircraft by 2026.The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) acknowledged that the Indonesian government has proposed a reduction of its financial contribution for the KF-21 project, and final negotiations are currently under way.”DAPA and related agencies are currently reviewing Indonesia’s offer. We plan to promptly wrap up the final negotiations,” DAPA spokesperson Choi Kyung-ho said during a regular press briefing.The proposal comes at a sensitive time as an investigation is under way into an Indonesian engineer’s alleged attempt to steal the jet’s technologies at Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the manufacturer of the KF-21.

POSCO Future M published its third responsible minerals report recently to show the battery materials company’s efforts to establish a sustainable supply chain for minerals used to produce cathode and anode materials, the company said Tuesday.The annual report covers POSCO Future M’s activities to prevent human rights violations, environmental destruction and funding for illegal groups. It also unveils the company’s efforts for supply chain sustainability, such as the establishment of a management process when purchasing minerals.In 2021, POSCO Future M became Korea’s first battery materials firm to have published a responsible minerals report, amid the growing global concerns over supply chain management after the European Union forced due diligence of a company’s protection of the environment and human rights.
The company emphasized that it has sourced cobalt and tungsten from minerals and suppliers certified by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), an international group that tracks and monitors the origins and suppliers of four conflict minerals — gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten — as well as cobalt.Although lithium, nickel, manganese and graphite are not subject to RMI certification, POSCO Future M has sourced those minerals from mines and suppliers with no record of human rights violations and environmental destruction.
The battery materials firm has also prevented its suppliers from using minerals from mines in 239 conflict-affected and high-risk areas in 29 countries in Africa, Asia and South America. Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul’s visit to China, preceding an envisaged trilateral summit involving South Korea, Japan and China, is anticipated to represent a crucial opportunity for diplomatic progress between Seoul and Beijing following recent strains in bilateral relations, experts said, Tuesday.According to the South Korean Embassy in China, it is coordinating the date of Cho’s upcoming visit to Beijing, which would mark the first visit by a South Korean foreign minister to the country in more than six years.Experts said the meeting between Cho and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi would hopefully provide mutual assurance that both sides want to stabilize ties. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Malaysian national football team coach Kim Pan-gon takes on the challenge of a cliffhanger for the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup Asian final qualifiers. The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is providing full support to coach Kim and the Malaysian players, including charter flights, to achieve optimal results.
Malaysia, led by coach Kim, will play an away game to Kyrgyzstan in the 5th round of Group D of the North and Central America World Cup Asia 2nd qualifying round scheduled for 00:00 (Korean time) on the 7th at Spartak Stadium in Bishkek, and then at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur at 10:00 p.m. on the 11th. They will clash with Chinese Taipei in the upcoming 6th round.
As of now, after 4 games, Malaysia is ranked 3rd in Group D with 6 points from 2 wins, 2 losses, 6 goals, and 5 conceded. They were at the top of the group before the two-game series of the second qualifying round in March, but their ranking dropped significantly after losing twice home and away to Oman. The current leader in Group D is Kyrgyzstan (9 points) with 3 wins and 1 loss. Kyrgyzstan is tied with Oman, who has the same record, in terms of points, but is ahead of them in points.
Kyrgyzstan’s pace is very good, but Malaysia has no reason to be afraid. Malaysia defeated Kyrgyzstan at home last November. After falling behind by a score of 1-3, they achieved a 4-3 victory, sending Malaysian soccer fans into a frenzy. If Malaysia wants to advance to the final qualifying round, it must first defeat Kyrgyzstan. As they are playing their last game against Chinese Taipei, who are on a scoreless home losing streak, if they win, they can push Kyrgyzstan out of the top 2, which gives them a ticket to the final qualifying round.

Fenway Park, the home stadium of the Boston Red Sox, is the oldest stadium among the 30 home stadiums of the Major League Baseball teams.
Completed in 1912 and remodeled in 2002, the distance to the left and right poles of this stadium is very short: 94.5m on the left and 92m on the right.
Also, the 11m high green monster on the left is standing, and the fence is also designed asymmetrically.

Merrill Kelly (36, Arizona Diamondbacks), the ‘reverse export legend’ who was achieving the best results after entering the Major League, is leaving for a long period of time due to injury.
Sports Illustrated (SI) reported on the 3rd (Korean time) that the Arizona team sent Kelly to the 60-day injured list.
Previously, Kelly was placed on the injured list on the 15th due to right shoulder pain on the 24th of last month. Her injury became prolonged, sending her to the 60-day disabled list.
Accordingly, Kelly’s return is impossible until early July. Kelly complained of pain in her right shoulder late last month, and an examination showed she had a sprain of her teres major muscle.

Korean Air, led by coach Tommy Tilikainen, achieved its dream of winning the championship last season. They achieved a milestone of four consecutive wins for the first time in V-League history.
However, Mark Espejo (registered name Espejo), who was with the club last season in the first Asian quarter, did not contribute much. Of course, there were times when he was helpful as a one-point server or as a starter, but Korean Air’s priorities were Jeong Ji-seok, Kwak Seung-seok, and Jeong Han-yong. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Iran Express’ Hagparast was selected by Woori Card as the first overall player.
Outside hitter Ali Hagparast (Iran) was selected by Woori Card as the first overall pick in the 2024 KOVO (Korea Volleyball Federation) Men’s Asia Quarter Draft held at the Grand Ballroom of Sun Hotel in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the 3rd.
This draft nomination ranking was conducted with the same probability (14.28%) for 7 clubs. The lucky first place went to Woori Card. Kim Jae-heon, Woori Card’s head coach, went up to the podium without delay and called Hagparast.
OK Financial Group, which qualified second, strengthened its strength by appointing outside hitter Zhang Binglong (China/OH/196.3cm).
In third place, KB Insurance nominated Australian outside hitter Max Staples (193.5 cm). He was the player that new coach Miguel Rivera had his eye on.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance ranked 4th. Coach Kim Sang-woo selected Ali Fazli (Iran/199.9cm), who can play both as an opponent spiker and an outside hitter. The main position is Apogee Spiker.
Hyundai Capital, ranked 5th, selected Chinese outside hitter Deng Xinfeng (203.9 cm).
Korean Air, which received the sixth-ranked pick, strengthened its strength with Iranian apothecary spiker Maref Moradi (197.8 cm). He was given the task of filling the gap left by Lim Dong-hyuk, who joined the Sangmu Department.
As the final 7th choice, KEPCO selected Japanese setter Nakano Yamato (177.9cm).
In this nomination, three players from Iran were selected and entered the V-League, including two Chinese players, one Australian player, and one Japanese player.
If classified by main position, there are 4 outside hitters, 2 opposition spikers, and 1 setter. Also, what stands out is that all seven are new faces.
