47.
Since the temperature is tremendously increasing, the heat waves are striking northern parts of India. The political gale has also begun to enthrall Uttar Pradesh’s politics known for paving the path to power in New Delhi. The political rallies with different types of flags with political slogans and songs are occupying the roads, streets and fields. The wave of political promises for canoodling people to vote for the parties is currently defeating heatwaves in North India. The heat in political speeches is something that ignites the public to cheer and talk about it everywhere. The elections in India are so exciting and empowering. As during elections, even YouTube journalists get chances to talk about something to make money whose journalism badly failed on news rooms as their overt political inclination got them kicked out of media houses.

48.
49.
50.
51.
The heat in congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s speech rekindled disgrace in elections where he indecently talked about PM Modi, saying Modi is so scared, “Don’t fear”. Whereupon, Modi in an interview with journalists, talked about frustration of Rahul Gandhi, as he is going to lose from Wayanad as well. Ever since, Congress and its friendly YouTube journalists were toiling in Amethi in order to increase hopes for Rahul Gandhi, yet their strenuous efforts met disappointments. Bjp has already ]dismantled congress bastion in Amethi in 2019 elections with Smriti Irani defeating Rahul Gandhi. Moreover, Irani has not taken it for granted like Gandhis, and worked for the people of Amethi. Although, the development can only be seen by people, not YouTube journalists and Congress leaders. As development doesn’t excite this party.

52.
53.
54.
55.
Congress party and its loyal members disguised as YouTube journalists unbelievably failed to convince Rahul Gandhi to fight in Amethi. Therefore, he filed nomination from Raebareli which is so far known as a strong seat for Congress. On the other hand, Gandhis wholly surrendered in Amethi and fielded a non Gandhi, a congress worker basically known for making tea for Congress members in Amethi. In an initial interview after the announcement of his candidature from Amethi, he seemed to be reluctant while interacting with the reporters. Irony is, for the First time, a candidate seemed to be tensed after getting ticket. No big leader accompanied him in nomination.

56.
57.
58.
59.
The bjp leaders are humorously taking jibes at Gandhis, posting pictures of Rahul Gandhi with hashtags #fattuPappu and Daro Mat. Even the diehard congress supporters were extremely disappointed when Rahul Gandhi chose to run away from Amethi due to Smriti Irani. Initially, they were seen questioning Rahul Gandhi asked to why he chose Raebareli just because of a risk of losing, whereas he was mocking Pm Modi with slogans like Daro mat. It looked like Mr. Gandhi was petrified by Smriti Irani’s popularity in their traditional seat, and his phoney political flair diminished the moment he sensed the risk of losing his political career because there is a strong chance of him losing in Wayanad as well. All the tumult of YouTube journalists, staunch Gandhi supporters and leaders died down with disappointment.

60.
61.
62.
63.
Congress party is currently behaving like an injured lamb in the arena of a bull. Instead of strengthening its roots and manage political rallies effectively, its sycophant leaders are trained to troll and flatter Gandhis. This is what is flattening Congress in India. Their claims of Rahul Gandhi being a fearless lion became risible for people to laugh and mock Gandhis. Congress party is unable to sense what is actually weakening it. It’s their unbridle chutzpah that doesn’t let them see the power of their rivals. Consequently, Congress spokespersons known for endless sycophancy came forward to mollycoddle Gandhis, calling it a masterstroke, claiming it is going to end the political career of Smriti Irani because Mr. Gandhi chose Raebareli. YouTube journalists who first felt gutted, now started singing this prevalent folklore of Congress along with the leaders with insane hashtag #smritiwho? To which netizens on X reminded them of Smriti who pulverized Mr. Gandhi and dismantled Congress bastion in Amethi.

64.
65.
66.
67.
The entire country understands happened behind the curtains and why Rahul Gandhi landed in Raebareli except Congress leaders and YouTube journalists who are crooning their boring song ‘Masterstroke’. A popular, insanely biased, Magsaysay awardee, now YouTube journalist is saying Rahul Gandhi is a political savvy who insinuated this trick in a video a few days back. This journalist is known for his nonsense comedy in the name of journalism, crooning the songs written by Congress, calling other journalists biased who question him. However, expecting sanity from YouTube journalists, Congress leaders and their supporters is categorically like playing chess with a donkey. All they do is bray and call people Modi bhakt for satisfying their frustration. This is the plight of Congress. There is a huge paucity of people who can deeply understand politics, and interpret the challenges, and know what efforts they must make. Congress party is almost dead in Uttar Pradesh, crawling on its nadir due to its endless mindset of thinking India is Gandhi’s fiefdom. It’s not, not anymore.

68.
69.
70.
71.
Instead of strengthening its wobbling legs in Uttar Pradesh, Congress leaders and its friendly journalists are routinely fortifying the prevalent propensity of congress that sees Gandhis above all. This is why Gandhis themselves are murdering Congress by taking advice from Sam pitroda and conniving with anti Hindu mentalities. Congress party is not focused on working on issues to revive itself in Uttar Pradesh and other states, but it is fixated on vilifying Hindu faith on the pretext of attacking Modi in elections. Rahul Gandhi absquatulating from Amethi, is not a masterstroke but a fear wrapped in brouhaha. Furthermore, Hindu faith is not a political matter now which Congress leaders used for years to gladden its vote bank that chooses to vote for the mockery of Hindu faith by Congress party in the name of secularism. All that is currently happening with Congress party, is the consequence of its anti Hindu, anti national and anti poor politics. The grave of Congress party has been dug by its own leaders. The Gandhi era of Congress ended in Amethi with an imminent threat of its extinction in coming years if this mentality of privileged Gandhis continues to control and misguides Congress.

92.
(Reuters) – Google and the U.S. Justice Department wrapped up closing arguments on Friday over claims that the Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab unit has unlawfully dominated web search and related advertising, in a case the government contends could shape the “future of the internet.”

93.
94.
95.
96.
U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta in Washington for hours grilled both sides with questions, probing whether competitive platforms such as ByteDance’s TikTok and Meta’s Facebook and Instagram are competitive substitutes for search advertising dollars.

97.
98.
99.
100.
Mehta said a central issue was platform “substitute-ability” for advertisers, which the court must resolve. He will now begin preparing to render a major decision on whether Google’s conduct broke civil antitrust law. He did not indicate when he would rule, but experts say he could potentially order changes to Google’s business practices.

101.
102.
103.
104.
Mehta also questioned whether Google assesses competitors’ pricing before making its own adjustments. Google’s advertising business is responsible for about three quarters of its revenue.

105.
106.
107.
108.
U.S. government lawyer David Dahlquist argued that “advertising revenue is what drives Google’s monopoly power today.”

109.
110.
111.
112.
Google has boasted it feels no real market pressures, Dahlquist said, arguing that the company does not fear increasing its pricing or not improving its products.

113.
114.
115.
116.
“Only a monopolist can make a product worse and still make more money,” Dahlquist argued.

117.
118.
119.
120.
Google’s lawyer John Schmidtlein countered that Google’s share of U.S. digital advertising revenue has steadily decreased. He touted the advertising power of rival platforms ByteDance’s TikTok, Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, and Amazon.

121.
122.
123.
124.
Schmidtlein argued that Google is “constrained” by rival platforms “where the eyeballs are,” because advertisers know there are overlapping audiences and can spend their dollars elsewhere.

125.
126.
127.
128.
He also asserted that Google was continually moving to innovate its search advertising products. “If Google is a monopolist, why improve anything? Why not just jack the price up?” he told the court. He later argued that “Google has won with a superior product.”

129.
130.
131.
132.
The Justice Department has hammered away at Google in a trial that started on Sept. 12, contending the search engine giant is a monopolist that illegally abused its power to boost profits.

133.
134.
135.
136.
Witnesses from Verizon (VZ.N), opens new tab, Android maker Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), opens new tab and Google itself testified about the company’s annual payments – $26.3 billion in 2021 – to ensure that its search is the default on smartphones and browsers, and to keep its dominant market share.

137.
138.
139.
140.
Mehta also took up the government’s claim that Google intentionally destroyed internal documents that were relevant to the issues in the lawsuit.

141.
142.
143.
144.
The government asked Mehta to presume that Google deleted chats that were unfavorable to the company.

145.
146.
147.
148.
Mehta repeatedly questioned Google’s prior policies, which he said left document retention decisions to its employees.

149.
150.
151.
152.
“They should have been preserved. Should there be some consequence for what at a minimum was far from best practices?” the judge asked.

153.
154.
155.
156.
A lawyer for Google, Colette Connor, defended its data preservation practices, calling them reasonable, and urged the court not to sanction the company.

157.
158.
159.
160.
The case, filed by former President Donald Trump’s administration, was the first of several aimed at reining in the market power of tech leaders.

161.
162.
163.
164.
Another case, against Facebook parent Meta, was also filed during the Trump administration. President Joe Biden’s antitrust enforcers have followed with a second case against Google and cases against Amazon.com (AMZN.O), opens new tab and Apple Inc (AAPL.O), opens new tab.

556.
557.
558.
559.
The Justice Department hammered away at Google in a trial that started on Sept. 12, arguing the search engine giant is a monopolist and illegally abused its power to favor its bottom line.

560.
561.
562.
563.
The judge noted that during the trial, Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab acknowledged it did not invest enough in mobile search. “That’s not anticompetitive, the fact that Google was smart enough to get on the mobile bandwagon before Microsoft,” Mehta said.

564.
565.
566.
567.
The government agreed, but responded that a “mistake by one rival doesn’t mean Google gets to monopolize this market forever.”

568.
569.
570.
571.
Google lawyer John Schmidtlein rejected contentions the company had engaged in anticompetitive conduct.

572.
573.
574.
575.
This case, filed by the Trump administration, was the first of five aimed at reining in the market power of tech leaders.

576.
577.
578.
579.
The second, against Facebook parent Meta, was also filed during the Trump administration, while Biden’s antitrust enforcers have followed with a second case against Google and cases against Amazon.com (AMZN.O), opens new tab and Apple Inc (AAPL.O), opens new tab.

588.
589.
590.
591.
In his testimony, Google CEO Sundar Pichai acknowledged the importance of making its search engine the default on phones, tablets and laptops to keep users loyal, saying: “We definitely see value.”

592.
593.
594.
595.
In turn, Google has argued the government was wrong to allege it broke the law to hold onto its massive market share, saying its search engine was wildly popular because of its quality and that dissatisfied users can easily switch.

596.
597.
598.
599.
Despite Google’s multibillion-dollar payments and Pichai’s statement, Google’s lawyers have argued that being the default has limited value and that users will not stick around if they are unhappy.

640.
(Reuters) – The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said on Thursday nearly 40% of U.S. telecom companies getting federal support need additional government funding to remove equipment made by Chinese telecoms firms Huawei and ZTE (000063.SZ), opens new tab from American wireless networks to address security risks.

641.
642.
643.
644.
The FCC said removing the equipment is estimated to cost $4.98 billion but Congress has only approved $1.9 billion for the “rip and replace” program.

645.
646.
647.
648.
FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel on Thursday called on Congress for urgent additional funding, warning some carriers in the reimbursement program have told the FCC recently “that they foresee significant consequences that could result from the lack of full funding, including having to shut down their networks.”

649.
650.
651.
652.
The White House in October sought another $3.1 billion to further fund removal of equipment made by Chinese telecoms giants but Congress has not acted.

653.
654.
655.
656.
In 2019, Congress told the FCC to require U.S. telecoms carriers that receive federal subsidies to purge their networks of Chinese telecoms equipment.

657.
658.
659.
660.
Under the law, the FCC is first allocating funding to applicants with two million or fewer customers and they are receiving just 39.5% of replacement costs.

661.
662.
663.
664.
After getting initial partial funding, telecoms companies face deadlines to remove, replace, and dispose all Huawei and ZTE communications equipment and services ranging from May 29, to Feb. 4, 2025, the FCC said.

665.
666.
667.
668.
The FCC said because telecom providers in the program “serve many rural and remote areas of the country where they may be the only mobile broadband service provider, a shutdown of all or part of their networks could eliminate the only provider in some regions.”

669.
670.
671.
672.
Rosenworcel added that a failure by carriers to “fully remove, replace, and dispose of covered equipment and services would raise national security concerns by leaving insecure equipment and services in our networks.”

713.
(Reuters) – – A majority of Americans believe that China uses TikTok to shape U.S. public opinion, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted as Washington moves closer to potentially banning the Chinese-owned short-video app.

714.
715.
716.
717.
Some 58% of respondents to the two-day poll, which closed on Tuesday, agreed with a statement that the Chinese government uses TikTok, which is owned by China’s ByteDance, to “influence American public opinion.” Some 13% disagreed, and the rest were unsure or didn’t answer the question. Republicans were more likely than Democrats to see China as using the app to affect U.S. opinions.

718.
719.
720.
721.
TikTok says it has spent more than $1.5 billion on data security efforts and would not share data on its 170 million U.S. users with the Chinese government. The company told Congress last year that it does “not promote or remove content at the request of the Chinese government.”

722.
723.
724.
725.
TikTok did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

726.
727.
728.
729.
President Joe Biden last week signed legislation giving ByteDance 270 days to divest TikTok’s U.S. assets or face a ban.

730.
731.
732.
733.
TikTok has vowed to challenge the ban as a violation of the protections of free expression enshrined in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and TikTok users are expected to again take legal action. A U.S. judge in Montana in November blocked a state ban on TikTok, citing free-speech concerns.

734.
735.
736.
737.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll found 50% of Americans supported banning TikTok, while 32% opposed a ban and the rest were unsure. The poll only surveyed U.S. adults and doesn’t reflect the views of people under age 18, who make up a significant portion of TikTok’s users in the United States. About six in 10 poll respondents aged 40 and older supported a ban, compared with about four in 10 aged 18-39.

738.
739.
740.
741.
The poll showed 46% of Americans agreed with a statement that China is using the app to “spy on everyday Americas,” an allegation Beijing has denied.

742.
743.
744.
745.
The app is ubiquitous in America. Even Biden’s re-election campaign is using it as a tool to win over voters ahead of the Nov. 5 presidential election. Biden’s rival, Republican Donald Trump, who has criticized a potential ban and is the majority owner of the company that operates his social media app Truth Social, has not joined.

746.
747.
748.
749.
A majority of Americans, 60%, said it was inappropriate for U.S. political candidates to use TikTok to promote their campaigns.

750.
751.
752.
753.
Biden’s signing of the law sets a Jan. 19 deadline for a sale – one day before his term is set to expire – but he could extend the deadline by three months if he determines that ByteDance is making progress on divesting the app.

754.
755.
756.
757.
The poll, which was conducted online, gathered responses from 1,022 U.S. adults nationwide and had a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.

802.
(Reuters) – Apple’s (AAPL.O), opens new tab plan to add generative AI to its iPhones and revive sagging sales in the crucial Chinese market will be in focus on Thursday, when the tech giant is expected to report its biggest quarterly revenue decline in more than a year.

803.
804.
805.
806.
Long considered a must-own stock on Wall Street, Apple shares have underperformed other Big Tech companies in recent months, falling more than 10% year to date as fears mount about its slow roll out of AI services and as a resurgent Huawei (HWT.UL) takes market share in China.

807.
808.
809.
810.
Analysts on average see iPhone sales, which account for about half of Apple’s revenue, falling 10.4% in the first three months of 2024, according to LSEG. That drop would be the steepest in more than three years.

811.
812.
813.
814.
Analysts estimate Apple’s total revenue declined 5% in its second quarter, which included January through March. That would be Apple’s biggest revenue decline since the December-quarter of 2022, when revenue fell 5.5%.

815.
816.
817.
818.
Apple earlier this year lost the crown of the world’s most valuable company to Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab and its market value now stands at $2.68 trillion after the decline in its share price in 2024.

819.
820.
821.
822.
Weak revenue and falling shares have put pressure on Apple to spruce up its flagship device after years without major upgrades.

823.
824.
825.
826.
The company is in talks with OpenAI and Alphabet-owned Google to add genAI features for the iPhone that could be unveiled at what is expected to be its biggest-ever annual developer conference in June, Bloomberg News has reported.

827.
828.
829.
830.
Analysts believe such an AI integration could drive demand for the next iPhone series, expected to be announced in the fall.

831.
832.
833.
834.
While executives at Microsoft, Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab, Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab and other major technology firms have talked up their AI strategies on quarterly conference calls in recent months, Apple CEO Tim Cook has discussed his plans for the emerging technology much less.

835.
836.
837.
838.
Adding AI features to iPhones could also help Apple to compete better with Huawei and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), opens new tab, which reclaimed the title of the world’s top smartphone vendor from Apple earlier this year, driven by demand for the AI features in its Galaxy S24 smartphones.

839.
840.
841.
842.
“Replacement cycle tailwinds and incremental generative AI features set up Apple well for a strong iPhone 16 cycle,” Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi said this week, upgrading his rating on the company’s shares to “outperform” from “market-perform”.

843.
844.
845.
846.
“We believe prevailing weakness in China is more cyclical than structural, and note historically Apple’s China business has exhibited much higher volatility than Apple overall, given its very feature-sensitive installed base.”

847.
848.
849.
850.
Thursday’s earnings will also be watched closely for updates on the company’s stock buyback plan and the Vision Pro, Apple’s first major product in years that hit the shelves in February.

851.
852.
853.
854.
After initial enthusiasm, there have been signs that demand slowed for the $3,500 device, with an analyst saying this month that Apple has pulled back its production estimates for the mixed-reality headset.

855.
856.
857.
858.
The rest of the company’s hardware business is also reeling from soft demand, with iPads and Mac sales expected to fall 11.4% and 4.3%, respectively, in the March quarter.

859.
860.
861.
862.
Apple has signaled it is sharpening its focus on the devices, which have also been hobbled by a lack of major upgrades.

863.
864.
865.
866.
The company is hosting an event later this month where a revamped iPad line-up is expected to be unveiled and media reports have said that it plans to update every Mac model with faster, AI-focused M4 processors.

867.
868.
869.
870.
The services business – which includes money earned from App Store and subscription services such as Apple TV – is expected to remain a bright spot with revenue growth of 7.7%.

913.
Taking a long haul flight can be daunting for older travelers. Long flights usually mean limited mobility, disrupted sleep schedules, and potential health complications. However, with some planning and preparation, older travelers can make their long haul flights more comfortable and enjoyable. Here are five tips for older travelers embarking on long flights:

914.
915.
916.
917.
1. Request Special Accommodations

918.
919.
920.
921.
When booking your flight, be sure to notify the airline that you will need special accommodations due to your age. Many airlines allow older travelers to pre-board so they can settle in without rushing or worrying about overhead bin space. You can also request a seat with extra legroom or near the restrooms. Don’t be shy to ask for what you need to be comfortable. Airlines are usually very accommodating to older travelers’ needs.

922.
923.
924.
925.
2. Stay Hydrated

926.
927.
928.
929.
Dehydration is a major concern on long flights. The dry cabin air combined with limited mobility can quickly lead to dehydration. This causes fatigue, headache, confusion and increases the risk of blood clots. Drink plenty of water before and during the flight. Avoid caffeine and alcohol which have diuretic effects. Ask the flight attendant for frequent water refills. You may also want to use a moisturizer for your skin. Having a hydration pack or water bottle with you allows you to sip water regularly throughout the flight.

930.
931.
932.
933.
3. Move Around

934.
935.
936.
937.
Sitting immobile in a cramped space for hours puts older travelers at risk of developing deep vein thrombosis or blood clots. Be sure to get up and walk around every 45 minutes to an hour. If you have an aisle seat, this will be easier. Do some gentle stretches in your seat as well, flexing and rotating your ankles and knees. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and shoes so you can move more freely. Moving your body will get your circulation going and make the long flight more bearable.

938.
939.
940.
941.
4. Consider Hiring a Medical Escort

942.
943.
944.
945.
Some older travelers or those with medical conditions may want to consider hiring a travel escort or companion to fly with them. Travel escort services provide trained flight nurses or medical companions to accompany travelers door-to-door. The medical escort will take care of booking flights, providing any needed medical care during the journey, and handling all the travel arrangements. This eliminates the stress of planning a complex trip. Having a medical professional monitoring your health and available to assist with medications, mobility, and any other needs can provide great peace of mind.

946.
947.
948.
949.
5. Prepare Your Carry-On

950.
951.
952.
953.
Pack smart for your carry-on bag. Include any medications, supplements or medical devices you may need during the flight. Keep prescriptions in original packaging. Bring hard candy or chewing gum to keep your ears popping. Pack a neck pillow, eye mask, and earplugs for better rest. Bring lotions or moisturizers for dry skin. Pack an empty water bottle to refill past security. Having healthy snacks on hand is also wise. Prepare for comfort to better enjoy your long haul flight.

954.
955.
956.
957.
While long flights present some challenges, being proactive with your preparations will allow you to manage any difficulties. Focus on staying hydrated, moving around, layering comfortable clothing, and having medical or mobility aids available in your carry-on bag. If health issues or the complexities of the trip have you concerned, consider hiring a professional medical escort for door-to-door care and support. With these tips in mind, older travelers can feel confident taking that long haul flight. Safe and happy travels!

985.
986.
NOYB said the complainant in its case, who is also a public figure, asked ChatGPT about his birthday and was repeatedly provided incorrect information instead of the chatbot telling users that it does not have the necessary data.

1004.
1005.
1006.
In the past, OpenAI has acknowledged the tool’s tendency to respond with “plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers,” an issue it considers challenging to fix.
