52.

Video recording and editing used to be a field for professionals only some years back. You could only find a few people with video cameras and even fewer who could edit those videos. But times have changed, and having a camcorder or a video recorder is almost as important as having a house to live in. In fact, a phone without a video recorder is no phone at all. Even young kids know how to record videos. But very few people have an idea about video editing. By the end of this, you will be a professional in video editing. The very first process in video editing is transferring the videos to a laptop or a PC. Now, you can edit your videos in your phone or some camcorders, but trust me, you won’t do it to precision, so I would rather you get a software that can edit videos, then you can start your video editing. I would prefer Pinnacle Studio 16 and Corel Video Studio Pro for heavy duty editing.Next you have to get all the videos that are related and make sure they are in one folder. After doing that, drag the videos in the order they were taken into the software’s deck. Start by clipping off the spaces in between different segments of the video. Make sure the video flow is continuous and there are no gaps on between the clips. This is called trimming. In between the clips, you can add transitions to make the clip more interesting and catchy. Transitions range from one video editing software to another but one thing is for sure; you will find transitions that are predefined in each of the video editing softwares. You can fade in a clip after another one is finished, but make sure the flow is smooth at all times. Transitions make a video more captivating so I would rather you use the best transitions. Now videos can be pretty plain some times. If you want to really soup up your video to a professional level, you need a couple of changes in color schemes. Some of the clips need may need to have sepia color schemes, black and white, and many more. A tab on the video editing software is used to change this. Sometimes it is under a drop-down list or on its own, with a label like, “color scheme” or a related term. Now another important aspect of videos is the audio part. However much your video looks awesome, the audio might discredit it if it is not up to the standard. In fact, most professional video experts prefer to get their sound separately using a different microphone that is connected to a mixer and the sound balanced and compressed, then they come and add it to the video they have recorded. But you don’t get many opportunities to do that so we have to improvise. Any good video editor can edit audio too, but not to the studio standards. Some basic audio editing features include panning the sound, volume control, pitch control, and many more. Now, if you are getting your audio separately, ensure it is in line with the video and cases like the video displaying someone speaking then the sound follows some few seconds after do not happen. Ensure that you normalize the sound so that there are no sound outbursts at some points of your video. There is a lot of amazing stuff you can do with your videos. You can even delete an object from a video clip or hide something in the video. Playing around with the video can really take you places. By object I mean even a person. You can fix a character that was not in the video before. The limits go beyond the sky-line. You can animate inanimate objects using some of the video editing softwares and make things come into life. After video editing, you can now export the video and render it in a suitable format, for instance Moving Pictures Expert Group, Flash Video, Apple Quick Time Movie, HD, and many more formats depending on your preferences. The world of video editing is constantly changing, and you have to be in touch with it. You need to spend your time learning new ideas and concepts, and upgrading the ones you have. But as of now, you are good to go. Welcome into the world of video editing!! Now keep in mind that you don’t have to have these professional video editing softwares to be able to do some good job. Even the light duty one you have can take you places.

 67.

Small Businesses and Solo Entrepreneurs need to build their brand identity just like the large companies. People are more likely to do business with you if they feel comfortable with you and feel like they already know you. When you sneeze do you ask for a ‘Kleenex” or a tissue? Are you thirsty for a ‘Coke’ or a cola? Consumers buy these products just because they are familiar with them. When you’re a small business owner or solo entrepreneur the product/service is you. It is imperative that you build brand identity that creates familiarity of you within your ‘niche’ market. Building your identity is important because people support businesses and products that they are comfortably familiar with and avoid the unknowns. Here are some successful strategic branding ideas.Personal experience creates a strong bond between you and your customers. Your customer service needs to be extremely personal so it creates an viral cycle. The personal experience your customer receives will lead to ‘word of mouth’ publicity.Create a consistent and repetitive association of you in your prospects mind. This can be achieved by using jingles in audio advertising mediums, and logos, photos, slogans and/or positioning statements in print advertising mediums, press releases, brochures and especially your business cards. Remember there is a back side to your business card and that is valuable space to be used for brand marketing. Be consistent in the look of your marketing/advertising so it brands you and your company. People will be acquainted with you based on that alone.Get a professional web site with headers and footers that continues your business identity using the same logos, photos, slogans and/or positioning statements as you use in print.Write articles with content that is educational and valuable for your customer. Put each article on your website and invite visits to your site through your resource box. Use your resource box to build brand identity.Use article directories to publish your articles, with your resource box pointing back to your website, to build name recognition. This is absolutely FREE advertising and a must for branding your business and yourself. When you sign up as an author you have an opportunity to add your photo or logo in your profile. Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity for increased identity branding.Brand your business by associating with and complimenting other successful products to develop a quality reciprocal link and partnership brand strategy on the Internet. This will increase your exposure and business identity. There are products you can use for this such as Arelis (http://axandra.com/index.htm) and Zeus (http://www.cyber-robotics.com)Build brand identity and stay in constant contact with your customers and prospects by using an auto responder service. Communicate frequently with your customers and prospects giving useful and personal information. Always use your same logos, photos, slogans and/or positioning statements.Frequency is another branding strategy. As an example, create a postcard marketing campaign where you send out pertinent information about your market or how you go above and beyond the ‘typical’ customer service. These direct mail postcards should be sent out at least once per month, if not more, and have your photo and/or logo prominently placed.Your brand is your promise. Make sure you, and anyone associated with your business, can stand behind what you have promised in your efforts and be able to deliver on that promise. If you don’t live up to it promises your customers and prospects will feel alienated from you and your company. This will damage your relationships and your overall brand.A consistent look for everything you do will design your business identity. Successful small business owners and solo entrepreneurs know the importance of ing their identities into the consciousness of their niche. When they are ready to purchase they will already know you and are willing to buy your product or service. Never under estimate the power of branding. Here are a few article directories for your article submissions:webreference, site-reference and articledashboard.

 82.

Finding a web designer is the easy part- all you need to do is perform a quick search online and bingo, you’re presented with pages and pages of them in the search engine results. The hard part is choosing the right web designer for your individual project. Every web design project has a specific set of requirements and every web designer has a unique set of skills that may, or may not, be suitable for your needs. In this article, I’ll list some key factors that will help you find the right web designer and how you determine if they have the necessary skills to undertake your web development project.Research the Web Designers Website and Online PortfolioEvery web designer should have a functioning website and an online portfolio of their work. If they don’t, you can scratch them off the list. After you have found some web designers in your area, or anywhere else for that matter, you should research each of their websites and check out samples of their work. Different web designers take different approaches to their work and use a variety of technologies. You should read up on their skills and approach to web design, to make sure they suit your requirements. Viewing completed websites and samples of the web designer’s work is also essential to get a good idea of the design style and skills they have. Make sure the websites function correctly. If some of the web designer’s recent samples are not working, there is a good chance that, if you use them, your website might have the same issues. Look at the design style of their portfolio samples. Most web designers tend to stick to a particular style. If you like the look of their websites, and their website text sounds appealing, you’re onto a winner. Take the next step and call them, or send a project brief through.Speak to Your Chosen Web DesignersAnother key point to determine which web designer is best for you, is finding out whether you can communicate with them. You will need to explain your vision to the designer and they should be able to respond with ideas and suggestions for your project. If you call your designer and there is, for example, a language barrier between you, that could be a problem throughout the development process. Talking to a potential web designer also gives you a good idea whether you are going to get on with them or not. If you call to speak with your chosen web design company and you are put on the phone to a rude or uninterested individual – in my books, that would not be somebody you would want to deal with on an ongoing basis. If they are enthusiastic, keen and communicate well you are more likely to have a successful ongoing professional relationship.Qualification and ExperienceQualifications and experience are not always essential but they do give you some security that the web designer knows what they are doing and has the skills to undertake your project. It’s really up to your judgment whether you want to use a web designer with no experience but you never know, they might be a young gun with tons of talent and is just waiting for that first project to unleash their skills on to. Whether you prefer your web designer to have qualifications or not is also up to you. Qualifications just mean they have had some formal recognition of their skills. My preference would be experience beats qualifications any day. Your web designer may have undertaken a six month course which has got them a certificate of some sort but that does not make them a good designer. There is so much information online and ways to hone your design talents now, that needing somebody to teach you is not essential.Creative VisionIt is very important the web designer you speak to understands your creative vision. To create a website that truly serves a purpose and business goal, the designer need to understand the nature of the website and relate to your overall vision. Take note on whether the web designer offers any ideas or suggestions when you’re talking to them. This is a good indication of whether they understand the project and are enthusiastic about it.The Right TechnologyDifferent web projects need different technology behind them. Not all web designers have all the necessary skills for some types of web development. For example you may need a full content management system with database driven content and advanced search engine optimisation. This is something not all web designers can provide. Most designer’s will tell you straight away if they are unable to complete the project, due to technical limitations. It is up to you as a client to inform the designer of all the feature’s you anticipate your website to have so they can tell you whether they can complete it.A Reasonable CostThe cost of the web project is normally the key factor in how people choose their web designer. The scope of your project and what budget you have can limit what designer you choose. If you have a very small budget but want to build the next Facebook, any sane web designer will tell you they can’t help you. However, it is always good to get a few quotes and see which designer can offer the best package, for a reasonable cost. If they’re too expensive, it might be because they are a larger company with more overheads, or they are simply very good at what they do. If they are cheap, do a bit more investigation before committing – Cheap web design may end up costing you more in the long run, as it probably won’t serve its purpose very well and you will need to get it rebuilt. The cost of web design is often open ended… ‘how long is a piece of string?’… A good web designer should be able to explain the reason why they have quoted a certain price, and discuss what they can do within your budget – Just because you have received an initial quote that may be higher than you originally anticipated, talk to your designer about it. Quite often, there could be features or aspects of the quote than can be removed, or modified, to get the project back within your budget – If you don’t ask, you’ll never know.

 97.

Back in early 2006, Jeff Walker launched a course called
98. Product Launch Formula. Product Launch Formula taught
99. a very detailed, step-by-step approach to launching any
100. product via the internet.Jeff even provided case studies that showed how to use
101. his Product Launch Formula to treat a major affiliate
102. promotion campaign like a product launch.Product Launch Formula taught a proven method of launching
103. a product, and in the process, convinced several THOUSAND
104. aspiring entrepreneurs that the time was finally right for
105. them to launch their product. The only problem was that many of them decided to release
106. products all at the same time. Another problem was that
107. many of the product launches were in the “Internet marketing
108. niche” where many people launching products were seeking
109. joint venture with the SAME pool of super affiliates. This triggered an interesting phenomena where super
110. affiliates were shown a plethora of absolutely incredible
111. products… many of which the same “100 super affiliate” all
112. chose to promote at the same time. This triggered wave after wave of many of the super affiliates
113. promoting the same product packages during well orchestrated
114. launches. As soon as one of these well-orchestrated launches
115. was over with, the next one kicked off.The thing is, there really were a lot of great product
116. being released. There were more great products being offered
117. to the same core group of customers than they could possibly
118. purchase AND digest… because it was coming at them so fast.As the competition really heated up, and the market began
119. to tune all of the emails, something interesting happened.Since many of these products really did solve a painful
120. problem in the marketplace, and since many people were on
121. multiple lists, and got pitched on the same product by dozens
122. of marketers… all on the same day, the distinguishing factors
123. soon became the bonuses that the affiliates were offering. When any product launch has so many super affiliates promoting
124. the same product launch to the same customers, the product
125. becomes such a “commodity” that the bonuses become what
126. determines which marketer get the sale.Soon, we had the “product launch bonus wars.” Each launch soon
127. became a contest to see who could get the most creative, and
128. who could offer the most enticing bonus.. the bonus with the
129. highest perceived value. It was at this point that many super affiliates began to do
130. their customers a big DISSERVICE. They began offering product
131. launch bonuses that made no sense. They began offering product
132. launch bonuses that distracted the customers too much, and kept
133. the customer from even having time to use the primary product. Some offered such huge bundles of “fluff” that their customers
134. would read a mile long page describing their bonuses, be
135. convinced that something in that long list was something that
136. they needed, and grab the package just for that bonus. Often,
137. those customers soon discovered that they’d never use the
138. bonuses, and then they were STUCK with a bunch of useless
139. clutter! The criteria that conscientious affiliate marketers should use
140. is to offer bonuses that help a customer to get the most use
141. out of a product. The bonus shouldn’t distract them so much
142. that they never even find the time to take the primary product
143. out of its shrink wrap.In my opinion, selling someone something and then overwhelming
144. them with bonuses that keep them from using the primary
145. product is totally WRONG!I believe this so much that when I noticed Jeff Walker
146. preparing for a launch of version 2 of his Product Launch
147. Formula, after confirming that it really is one of the most
148. useful products that many of my clients needed, I had to ask
149. myself, “If I recommend this to my clients, how do I help them
150. to actually USE the product?”I think that is a very logical approach to deciding what bonuses
151. to offer with any product.Don’t you?For example, I acknowledged that anyone getting Jeff Walker’s
152. Product Launch Formula 2.0 would likely be planning on doing
153. a product launch. If they are marketing online, they likely need
154. help in planning that launch, getting joint venture partners,
155. and publicizing their launch. So, my “ideal” bonus for Product Launch Formula 2.0 evolved to:1) A “solo” email, promoting only their product, sent to a list
156. of 120,000 subscribers.2) A live 2-day seminar where they are taught many of the things
157. that they need to know to both launch their product and to
158. continue building and running a successful online business.3) At least 2 hours one one-on-one consulting. So, that’s what I bundled as my bonus for Jeff Walker’s Product
159. Launch Formula 2.0. My thinking was also that the live seminar
160. would put… as many as… several hundred ideal JV partners in
161. the same room.My challenge issued to all affiliates promoting product launches
162. is to offer bonuses that actually help the customer use the
163. primary product and benefit from that purchase. My challenge
164. issued to potential customers contemplating buying ANY big
165. ticket item in particular is to look for bonuses that actually
166. help you to use the product.Buying a product just for a bunch of bonuses that you’ll never
167. use is generally illogical. Buying a product that comes with a
168. bunch of product launch bonuses that distract and detract from
169. the primary product is counter-productive. Offering your
170. customers bonuses during product launches that are inconsistent
171. with getting the most use out of that product is
172. unconscionable. So there you have my opinion on “product launch madness and
173. bonuses that make sense.” If you’re serious about your business
174. growth, I encourage you to give what I’ve just shared with you
175. some deep though.Soul searching and intuition are good things

 213.

If you’re in sales, then you’ve probably heard all sorts of advice, from “don’t oversell” to “focus on solving problems.” However, one of the best pieces of advice that many forget is to smile! After all, your smile is one of the first features people notice about you, and it plays an essential role in the first impression you make. Keep reading to learn all about the importance of a smile in sales (as well as how cosmetic dentistry can help!).

 214.
Smile: Your Sale Depends on It!

 215.
Knowing your product and knowing your audience are key in sales. However, you don’t get far if your client doesn’t trust you or believe you. That’s why it’s so important to make a good first impression! Here are a few ways a smile can help:

 216.
• Smiling is more powerful than you might think – One study found that smiling has the same effect on our brain as $25,000 in cash!

 217.
• Smiling communicates your state of mind – Smiling is a non-verbal cue that you are happy to be where you are, that you are confident in your product, and that you are ready and willing to help.

 218.
• Smiling creates a ripple effect of positivity – Have you ever seen a friend yawn and done the same? Or seen someone take a sip of water and immediately realized you’re thirsty? Thanks to the mirroring neurons in our brains, we naturally mimic the behavior of those around us.

 219.
But What If You Don’t Like Your Smile?

 220.
If you don’t like your smile, don’t worry – that’s where cosmetic dentistry comes in. Whether you’re struggling with misaligned, misshapen, cracked, or otherwise imperfect teeth, your smile goals aren’t out of reach. The first step? Scheduling an appointment with a skilled cosmetic dentist. For both my father and myself, providing high-quality, personalized, and judgment-free dentistry is a passion. There’s truly nothing better than seeing someone walk out of our office with a dazzling, confident smile! So, don’t wait to make your dream smile a reality – it could make all of the difference when it comes to your personal and professional life!

 294.

Anti-ligature blinds are becoming increasingly popular in a range of different settings. The way these blinds differ from traditional blinds is that they are designed to prevent suicide by hanging.

 295.
Initially, uptake for this type of blind was largely restricted to high-risk environments such as psychiatric hospitals and prisons, where suicide is common. In mental health environments and detention centres, suicide via hanging is common and preventative measures must be implemented. A huge range of objects could be used to create a ligature point, meaning anti-ligature systems are highly important.

 296.
Over the years, anti-ligature blinds have been supplied to hospitals, schools, student accommodation and even hotels.

 297.
How do they work?

 298.
There are a range of different systems on the market, but the most reliable could well be the magnetic anti-ligature system. YewdaleKestrel® products utilise load release magnets which separate when a downward force is exerted on the product. This means that the product falls to the ground safely and prevents suicide via hanging.

 299.
The magnetic systems used in Yewdale’s products are highly reliable because magnets don’t lose their strength for hundreds of years, guaranteeing a lifetime of lifesaving functionality.

 300.
Anti-ligature blinds usually have a magnetic connection point above the blind’s barrel. The blind is easy to reconnect to the magnetic bracket after it has fallen to the floor.

 301.
If you are considering an anti-ligature blind, Yewdale is a highly recommended company. Based in the UK, Yewdale produce a wide range of anti-ligature products, commercial blinds, and healthcare products including hospital cubicle tracks and medical curtains.

 302.
Yewdale produce other anti-ligature products too including a soft, lightweight en-suite door and other accessories such as soap dispensers, toilet roll holder, shelves and artwork. You can see the full range on the website using the link below.

 406.
A few key myths about losing weight

 407.
The weight loss myth of eating less and moving more

 408.
The phrase “eat less and move more” is actually true, but most people do it wrong. Many people think that they should eat less of everything, so they limit their calories to a very low level, and it feels a bit like eating an ultra-low-calorie fairy meal. Then, for the hyperactive part, the first thing that everyone thinks of is aerobic exercise such as running, cycling, etc., but in fact, this is a very short-term and easy way to regain weight, mainly because eating too little is an easy way to lose weight. The reason for the loss of muscle mass, coupled with the fact that aerobic training is not helpful for muscle mass growth, causes the metabolism to drop too much.

 409.
Maybe you can lose 5 kilograms in this way, but if your metabolism declines, you will easily regain the weight. And it’s all the fat that gets back up, not the muscle you lose that makes you look fatter than before. This is what we call the yo-yo effect, lose weight, get fat back, get fatter than before, lose weight, get back on Fat, get fatter than before.

 410.
Stop taking diet pills and meal replacements

 411.
At this time, you may start to seek other ways, eat weight loss meal replacements, taking diet pills, and so on. But believe me, most diet pills will inevitably hurt the body, especially the gastrointestinal tract. You may actually lose weight in the moment, but when your gastrointestinal tract is damaged, you will be fatter than before.

 412.
The key to understanding how to lose weight

 413.
You must have thought, why some people will not gain weight no matter what they eat, while some people will gain a kilogram the next day after eating a little bread? What is the cause of obesity? This is not a simple answer that can be solved!

 414.
You can see the link to the picture below, mainly talking about the influencing factors of obesity, which are very, very complicated.

 415.
Image source: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/296290/obesity-map-full-hi-res.pdf

 416.
In the middle of this picture is the heat balance

 417.
So we can know that calorie balance is very important

 418.
But this article doesn’t keep preaching that calorie balance is the key to losing weight like other sites

 419.
If you don’t know what calorie balance is, you can probably imagine that our body has calorie consumption (exercise, thermogenesis, basal metabolism), and calorie intake (eating).

 420.
When calorie consumption exceeds calorie intake, the weight will drop, so the truth of weight loss is to eat less and move more, very simple. In the short term, it is really possible to simply achieve weight loss by eating less and moving more, but simplicity is not simple, because the operation of the body is very complicated. Many people think that they can control their calorie consumption, that they can achieve a lot of calorie expenditure by running all the time, and that eating fairy meals (low-calorie meals) can reduce calorie intake and then easily lose it.

 421.
However, according to research, 90% of people who use calorie control, eat less and move more to lose weight will fail or regain the weight.

 422.
Because eating less and moving more for too long, metabolism will easily drop, hormones will easily become imbalanced, and muscle mass will easily be lost. Even if you lose 10 kilograms, you will easily regain weight.

 423.
When losing weight, the body is like a factory

 424.
For me, the key to long-term weight loss and maintaining good posture is the environment in the body, such as hormones, the level of inflammation in the body, and the gastrointestinal system.

 425.
Think of the body as a factory

 426.
-Your hormones are the managers and workers of factory operations

 427.
-Inflamed condition is how good factory machinery and hardware are

 428.
-Calorie intake is wages for factories as well as fuel

 429.
If the manager of this factory is an idiot, or if the hardware in your factory is completely rotten, then no matter how it works, it will create a pile of waste. Just as our hormones are already out of balance and the level of inflammation in the body is very high, no matter how much you eat, if you don’t solve the existing problems, it will easily accumulate into fat. It may be easier to understand with a few examples.

 430.
Hormones vs Weight Loss

 431.
This study looked at the effects of sleep and weight loss

 432.
Research source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20921542

 433.
Both groups of humans were calorie-restricted, but one group slept 5.5 hours a night and the other 8.5 hours. Both groups lost weight, but the group that slept less lost 55 percent less body fat and 65 percent more muscle mass than the group that slept more. It is equivalent to losing weight, but most of the loss is muscle mass, which reduces metabolism and makes it easy to regain weight later.

 434.
There is such a big difference mainly because poor sleep has a negative impact. The imbalance of the secretion of these things will easily increase fat and reduce muscle.

 435.
This next study looks at the effect of insulin sensitivity on body composition!

 436.
Research source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19471290

 437.
Basically, many chronic metabolic diseases, obesity, and poor muscle-building effects are closely related to low insulin sensitivity. Insulin is an anti-catabolic hormone whose main function is to store nutrients in cells. For example, after heavy training, our muscles will be more sensitive to insulin, and the nutrients we eat will be more easily absorbed into the muscles. When insulin sensitivity is low, the nutrients we eat are more likely to be stored as fat rather than absorbed into muscles.

 438.
We can simply say that the nutrients in the food eaten by people who are insulin insensitive are more likely to be stored as fat, and the relative fat mass will be much higher than the muscle mass.

 439.
To put it simply, the key to losing weight is actually to improve hormones, improve inflammation in the body, and add an appropriate calorie deficit. It is not difficult to achieve a calorie deficit. What is more difficult is how to choose the type of food that suits your body to improve hormones and achieve a long-term good body.

 440.
If you only pursue short-term weight loss and rely on a lot of calorie deficits to achieve the effect of weight loss, and then the hormones are still the same after the loss, then I can guarantee that you will gain weight very easily.

 441.
With so many ways to eat on the internet, which diet should I try?

 442.
When talking about losing weight in Taiwan 30 years ago, everyone would definitely want to use boiled meals

 443.
When it came to losing weight five years ago, everyone might think of using a low-sugar diet. When it came to losing weight in the past two or three years, everyone might directly think of the ketogenic diet.

 444.
I lost 30kg in 3 months on a low-sugar diet myself for the first time, so I used to believe that a low-sugar diet was the best way to lose weight

 445.
But after my long-term understanding of weight loss-related research, genetic cognition, and observation of students, there is no diet that is most suitable for everyone! Although it is said that high-carbohydrate foods will most stimulate insulin secretion, which in turn promotes the storage of nutrients into fat, some people are naturally good at metabolizing carbohydrates, so they can still be healthy and strong after eating high-carbohydrate throughout their lives.

 446.
For example, this study compared the responses of people with high and low insulin sensitivity to high- and low-carb diets.

 447.
Research source: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1038/oby.2005.79

 448.
The study concluded:

 449.
-For people with high insulin sensitivity, eating high-carb and low-fat to lose weight is very helpful

 450.
-However, people who are insulin insensitive use a high-carb low-fat diet to lose fat, but the weight loss effect is not so good.

 451.
But on the contrary, studies have also shown that people with low insulin sensitivity have a very good weight loss effect on a low-carb high-fat diet, which shows that improving insulin is very important for weight loss, and it also shows that people with insulin insensitivity are more suitable

 452.
Lose weight with a high-carb diet.

 453.
So if you have been obese for a long time, you know that you eat carbohydrates easily, or you know that you have diabetes in your family and want to lose fat, then I would suggest that you can start by reducing carbohydrates, which is what we call low carb diet!

 484.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

 485.
Mobile Banking is a service provided by a bank or other financial institution that allows its customers to conduct financial transactions remotely using a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

 486.
Electronic Transaction Levy or “E-Levy” is a tax applied on transactions made on electronic or digital platforms.

 487.
ADVANTAGES OF MOBILE BANKING

 488.
Mobile banking offers numerous benefits such as ease of transaction, convenience, time-saving, managing your finances, and budgeting. Some advantages of Mobile Banking in remote areas include:

 489.
Financial Inclusion — mobile banking offers convenient and easy banking services to people in remote areas. Thus, it allows banking on the go and offers all benefits of a banking system to rural areas without the presence of a financial institution.

 490.
Accessing the bank 24/7 — Mobile banking provides ubiquitous banking services without the need to visit the bank to have access to services. This offers time to benefit and ease of transacting at a distance.

 491.
Cost-benefit — Mobile banking saves the banks the cost of building physical infrastructures (branches) and maintaining branches and staff. Also, reduced costs on the customer side since the burden of visiting the bank for services is eliminated.

 492.
Improving resilience in the face of poverty — Mobile money acts as both a savings vehicle and a means of transferring funds during times of economic or environmental shocks.

 493.
Strengthening the formal economy — For many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), opening a mobile money account can facilitate access to formal financial services. Mobile money is well placed to address the issue of informality that blights many developing economies and hampers domestic resource mobilization efforts. Mobile Money enables ease of transacting, thus increasing business profits for MSMEs.

 494.
Facilitating economic growth — Mobile money has been shown to contribute to economic growth by increasing both productivity and per capita incomes

 495.
DISADVANTAGES OF E-LEVY ON MOBILE BANKING

 496.
The design of mobile money taxation policy appears to be the antithesis of a well-designed tax system. The disadvantages include:

 497.
Inequity — Mobile money taxes as currently structured to create inequity in the tax system. As the tax is mostly borne by the poor and users of the services are subject to additional taxation (unlike bank or cash transactions), the principles of both horizontal and vertical equity in the tax system are contravened.

 498.
Uncertainty -. Uncertainty and lack of transparency over taxation systems can have a direct impact on the operations of the tax authority, increasing enforcement costs, as well as discouraging investment.

 499.
Inconvenience — The administration of mobile money transaction taxes creates an inconvenience for MMPs who must calculate and collect the tax on the revenue authority’s behalf. There is an additional inconvenience for users of the service for whom remote digital transactions become more expensive or out of reach if they revert back to cash.

 500.
Inefficiency — Badly designed mobile money taxes have been shown to have a distortionary impact on demand for mobile money services. This in turn has had negative impacts on overall tax takes, as well as impacting the attainment of national economic and development goals.

 501.
EFFECT OF MOBILE BANKING — CASE STUDIES

 502.
The decision to impose taxes on mobile bank transactions will trigger so many problems.

 503.
Ghana — According to The Fourth Estate Ghana; Although the government projects a 24% decline in transactions when the levy is finally implemented, preliminary findings published by the bank of Ghana indicate the value of mobile money transactions had dropped by 3.2 billion in December 2021, less than 2 months after the proposal to introduce E-levy.

 504.
Uganda — An e-levy of 1% introduced in 2018 has led to an overall drop in the person-to-person transaction by more than 50%, and a 24% drop in industry transactions within the same year the tax was introduced according to a report by Global system for mobile communication (GSMA).

 505.
Congo — An e-levy of 1% was introduced in 2019. The government had to reverse the tax on cash outs only due to negative results of the levy on Mobile money users such as a decline in mobile money agents (unemployment) and high-value withdrawals by people.

 506.
Other countries include Benin (5%) and Cameroun (0.2%). In all these countries, the e-levy has imposed a negative effect on the economy and people. If we want to ensure the financial inclusion of people in rural areas, we need to ensure that we encourage mobile banking by withdrawing the e-levy tax.
