42.
Saweetie has remained a constant presence in the hip-hop world since her 2017 breakout “Icy Girl.” This year alone, the “My Type” rapper has collaborated with fellow Bay Area native P-Lo on “Do It for the Bay” and even taken her voice overseas with “Khutti,” a joint effort with Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh. Earlier this month, she released the compilation EP Pretty Hu$tler Mix complete with recent solo single “Richtivities.”

 43.
Just a few weeks after dropping Pretty Hu$tler Mix, Saweetie is continuing her release streak with her new single “Nani.” The pop-tinged track arrives just as people get ready to hit the beach this summer, making it a natural fit for sunny day playlists. “‘Nani’ isn’t just a track; it’s the soundtrack to a good time,” she said in a press release for the song. “This track [definitely] gives main character energy! This single has been a labor of love, and it’s just the beginning. I’ve been working on this new music for a while, and I’m excited to share more of this journey with you.”

 44.
Since 2021, Saweetie has repeatedly announced—and subsequently postponed—the release of her debut studio album Pretty B***h Music. When speaking about the long-awaited LP in an interview with Allure earlier this year, she confessed that she didn’t think the people around her were interested in her work as an artist.

 45.
<fbs-ad position="inread" progressive="" ad-id="article-0-inread" aria-hidden="true" role="presentation"></fbs-ad>

 46.
“I just feel like nobody was caring about my music,” the Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree said. “To me, music is sacred. It’s coming from your spirit. You can’t just go finish an album in a week. That’s why it’s taking me so long. That’s why I haven’t dropped an album yet.”

 47.
Still, she isn’t letting naysayers get her down or stop her from achieving her goals. “There’s been a lot of times these past couple of years where I’ve given up on myself,” she admitted. “Whether people knew about that or not, I just felt myself giving up, and I don’t want to do that anymore.”

 93.

 94.
Following her Oscar-winning turn for her Barbie song “What Was I Made For?” earlier this year, Grammy darling Billie Eilish is back with her third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft. The project arrives three years after her sophomore LP and combines many seemingly disparate elements of her nearly decade-long career to paint a multicolored portrait of a fully realized artist.

 95.
In the lead-up to its release, Eilish teased that the album would be a return of sorts to her smash 2019 breakout When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? “I feel like this album is me,” the Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree told Rolling Stone last month. “It’s not a character. It feels like the When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? version of me. It feels like my youth and who I was as a kid.”

 96.
On Hit Me Hard and Soft, Eilish shows she’s stepped into her own after essentially becoming an adult in the public eye. Her expansive sexuality—which she opened up about for the first time late last year—serves as a backdrop for much of the project, namely breakout single “Lunch.” And while her last album was titled Happier Than Ever, she explained to Variety that this album might actually capture that sentiment more.

 97.
“My life is feeling good,” she said. “I feel like I’m becoming a person I really love and doing things I feel really proud of. In many ways in my life, I feel like I’m just now waking up.”

 98.
<fbs-ad position="inread" progressive="" ad-id="article-0-inread" aria-hidden="true" role="presentation"></fbs-ad>

 99.
Ultimately, Eilish explores a wide range of emotions on the project in a mature and clear-eyed fashion. That makes this album title just as fitting.

 100.
“I thought it was such a perfect encapsulation of what this album does,” she told Rolling Stone. “It’s an impossible request. You can’t be hit hard and soft. You can’t do anything hard and soft at the same time. I’m a pretty extremist person, and I really like when things are really intense physically, but I also love when things are very tender and sweet. I want two things at once. So I thought that was a really good way to describe me, and I love that it’s not possible.”

 101.
“This album, to me, feels like a way to restart, in terms of my sharing.”

 195.
Updated 05/17/24 — See updates below.

 196.
Not long ago, I wrote about how Sony was squandering player goodwill with the Helldivers 2 debacle. The game publisher announced it would require Helldivers 2 players on PC to link their PSN accounts to Steam in order to keep playing the game. The only problem?

 197.
A lot of PC gamers either didn’t want to create a PSN account since they don’t own a PlayStation, or simply couldn’t because they lived in one of 177 different countries where that’s simply not possible. Sony ended up backtracking on the decision after enough bad press—and hundreds of thousands of negative Steam user reviews—forced their hand.

 198.
But the damage is done, and the good will has already been lost. One of the best PlayStation 4 games ever made, Ghost Of Tsushima, lands on Steam today and already the negative user reviews are in. From what I’ve perused so far, none of the negative reviews have anything to do with the gameplay or the game’s performance on Steam.

 199.
Instead, the negative reviews all focus on the PSN requirement. In the case of Ghost Of Tsushima, this was much better advertised. Helldivers 2 waived the requirement for several months before Sony made the announcement, which is largely why it was met with such enormous backlash. Ghost Of Tsushima makes it clear from the outset. It also makes it clear that the requirement is only for the multiplayer co-op portion of the game and the PlayStation overlay, which means you can play the entire single-player campaign—the vast bulk of the game—without a PSN account linked to your Steam account.

 200.
<fbs-ad position="inread" progressive="" ad-id="article-0-inread" aria-hidden="true" role="presentation"></fbs-ad>

 201.
My hunch here is that had there never been a Helldivers 2 PSN controversy, and all the bad press that engendered, Ghost Of Tsushima’s PSN requirement would have flown mostly under the radar. Sony made this bed for themselves and now every one of their Steam releases that has multiplayer components will be hit with lots of negative reviews that focus solely on that.

 202.
It’s unfortunate timing. The game drops on Steam at the exact same time Ubisoft revealed the first Japanese Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. That game is already embroiled in controversy over one of its main protagonists, Yasuke, and Sony could have easily capitalized on that by making a big deal out of the Ghost Of Tsushima Steam launch. Instead, both games are bogged down in their very own controversies. And this is why we can’t have nice things.

 203.
Side-note: I don’t see any official reviews up for the game out on any gaming websites or YouTube, which makes me wonder if review codes were even sent out at all. That’s somewhat worrisome. I’ll have to take it for a spin and see what’s what.

 204.
Update 5/17

 205.
Ghost Of Tsushima’s reviews on Steam have improved markedly since I first posted this just after the game had launched. At that time, a much higher percentage of reviews were negative. Since then, the game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews that have brought the game’s score up to “Very Positive” which is, er, very positive!

 206.
The game is fantastic, but I think it’s still worth pointing out that far and away the most common negative user review on Steam is focused on the PSN requirement rather than anything to do with gameplay or PC performance. There are negative reviews about performance as well, including crashes, freezing, the game simply not running and so forth. Other reviews mention how it’s blocked in countries without PSN.

 207.
Regardless, my point still stands: Even very good games that please the majority of PC gamers are going to take flak when you require something like PSN to play them. Nobody likes how you have to run Ubisoft’s launcher when you buy the game on Steam, either. Activision was smart when they released Call Of Duty on Steam and didn’t require people to also have Battle.net to run the game (though I am less fond of that game’s launcher).

 208.
Ultimately, though, I’m glad that Ghost Of Tsushima is getting love from the PC gaming community. It really is a wonderful game and deserves the praise and as many players as possible.

 209.
In other news, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the first game in that franchise to explore feudal Japan. It looks really good, though I’m always a bit wary of Ubisoft games these days.

 237.
In a significant development for the blockchain and AI industries, SuperSight AI has announced a strategic partnership with NEAR Protocol, aimed at advancing decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) through enhanced data availability.

 238.
<adv data-paragraph="1"></adv>

 239.
This collaboration is set to transform the landscape of decentralized AI by leveraging NEAR Protocol’s robust data availability solutions to support SuperSight’s Sovereign Layer 2 infrastructure.

 240.
<adv data-paragraph="2"></adv>

 241.
NEAR Protocol’s High-Performance Infrastructure Boosts SuperSight’s AI Solutions

 242.
SuperSight AI, a pioneer in the decentralized AI sector, aims to address the critical challenges of scalability and cost-efficiency in AI applications. By integrating NEAR Protocol’s data availability (DA) solutions, SuperSight can offer a scalable and cost-effective framework for AI operations.

 243.
This integration is expected to reduce transaction fees by over 90% compared to other networks, making frequent data interactions more affordable and accessible for users across various industries.

 244.
NEAR Protocol contributes to this partnership with its high-performance blockchain infrastructure, which boasts a throughput of 4 MB/s per shard and supports over 100 million accounts with 16 million monthly active users.

 245.
Since its launch in 2020, NEAR has maintained a remarkable 100% uptime, providing the reliability that SuperSight needs to deploy its AI solutions effectively. The use of advanced cryptographic techniques, such as KZG commitments and Reed-Solomon erasure coding, plays a crucial role in this collaboration.

 246.
These methods ensure efficient and trustless data verification, while NEAR’s smart pruning strategy keeps data available for approximately 60 hours without burdening the consensus layer. This approach significantly enhances the efficiency of data operations and supports the scalability of SuperSight’s applications.

 247.

 248.

 249.

 250.
I guess since they’ve got SuperSight they saw that NEAR DA offers unmatched performance and cost-efficiency.

 251.
Don’t believe it?

 252.
Check the receipts here:

 253.
— NEAR Protocol (@NEARProtocol) May 17, 2024

 254.

 255.

 256.
Optimizing AI Applications for Mainstream Adoption

 257.
The partnership between SuperSight AI and NEAR Protocol is not just a technical integration; it’s a step towards making blockchain-based AI applications more accessible and usable in everyday scenarios.

 258.
By overcoming scalability challenges and reducing operational costs, SuperSight aims to bring its AI solutions closer to mainstream use, benefiting sectors ranging from healthcare to finance.

 259.
SuperSight AI is enthusiastic about the opportunities this partnership creates. The team expressed excitement about working alongside NEAR Protocol to push the boundaries of what’s possible in decentralized AI. This collaboration is expected to foster innovation and development within the AI and blockchain communities, leading to more robust and user-friendly decentralized applications.

 382.
Amid a week of social media controversy involving Tiffany Stratton, and even Bianca Belair, there were simultaneous chants of “EST” and “Tiffy Time.

 383.
WWE talked up Bianca Belair’s knee injury from last week, which immediately signaled this could be the out for babyface Belair to lose to Stratton in what would be the biggest win of Stratton’s career. More importantly, a Stratton win protects the likely WrestleMania main event of Jade Cargill vs. Bianca Belair.

 384.
Belair let out an excruciating scream after a blow to the leg as her left knee injury quickly became the story of this match.

 385.
Stratton and Belair seemed to be no two entirely different pages during some points, but they overcame a few miscues to have a pretty good match.

 386.
There was a great nearfall, that probably should have been a three, and the Tiffany supporters were furious.

 387.
Bianca Belair won this match with a one-legged KOD. Stratton and Bianca received much-deserved “this is awesome” chants.

 388.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Bianca Belair Grade: B+

 389.
Tama Tonga Def. LA Knight

 390.
Backstage, and prior to his match against LA Knight, Tama Tonga let out what Wade Barrett described as “guttural, animalistic growls.”

 391.
LA Knight was massively over, but fans also chanted “we want Roman.” Fans continued to chant “we want Roman” coming out of the break when Tonga took control.

 392.
Tonga is now being referred to as “The Butcher of the Bloodline,” which is a great nickname.

 393.
Fans chanted “BFT” as LA Knight got back into this match. After a brief distraction from Solo, Tama Tonga won the match with a Lie Detecter and fans were shocked.

 394.
Tama Tonga vs. LA Knight Grade: B-

 395.
Cody Rhodes Vs. Logan Paul Contract Signing

 396.
There was an interesting exchange between Logan Paul and LA Knight, that hinted toward a future match. I continue to have a fleeting feeling that there will be a non-finish if Paul vs. Rhodes is, indeed, Title for Title. This would set up LA Knight to win the United States Championship.

 397.
Logan Paul walked out flanked by his entourage, including his lawyer who beared a striking resemblance to Vince McMahon.

 398.
Cody Rhodes—the most over man on this show—mentioned how much he loves Jacksonville, for obvious reasons. Cody also acknowledged the 32-year anniversary of one of the greatest WarGames matches of all time.

 399.
Logan Paul’s lawyer, Jim Gillery, finessed the contract to where this won’t, in fact, be a Title vs. Title match but rather only Cody Rhodes’ WWE Undisputed Championship will be on the line.

 400.
Cody Rhodes referenced the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight, saying in “eight days,” a WWE Hall of Famer would knock out Jake Paul. The fight is on July 20, Rhodes meant eight weeks.

 401.
The segment ended with Cody Rhodes power-bombing “Broccoli Hair Guy” from Paul’s entourage through a table.

 402.
Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul Contract Signing Grade: B+

 403.
Nia Jax Def. Jade Cargill By DQ

 404.
The moment of this match came when Nia Jax went right up to Jade Cargill’s daughter and said “your mom sucks!”

 405.
Jax’s comment to Jade’s daughter led to Jade losing her cool, grabbing a chair and getting herself disqualified. Fans chanted “bulls—t,” which was silenced on the live broadcast.

 406.
I have no problem with Jade Cargill being ousted via DQ. Jade vs. Bianca will be the WrestleMania 41 main event, it’s too early to give it away next week with no build.

 407.
Nia Jax vs. Jade Cargill Grade: C

 408.
DIY Def. Legado Del Fantasma

 409.
A-Town Down Under were on commentary, and Grayson Waller accused DIY of “cosplaying as their bosses.”

 410.
To continue to play up this feud, Waller referred to DIY as the guys who peaked in college. When asked if he went to college, he hilariously said they don’t have college in Australia yet, but they’re working on it.

 411.
Corey Graves continued to call Gargano the Mechanical Marvel, which was also a nod to Gargano cosplaying as X-Men’s Wolverine.

 412.
DIY won with Meet me in the Middle shortly after Elektra Lopez and Santos Escobar were yeeted from ringside by Jessika Carr.

 413.
After the match, both Barrett and Graves publicly addressed the QR codes.

 414.
Backstage, AJ Styles hinted at possible retirement amid back-to-back losses to Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

 416.
Randy Orton Def. Carmelo Hayes

 417.
Carmelo Hayes had multiple segments with LA Knight backstage, including a scuffle after Hayes trolled Knight over a loss. I really like WWE booking WWE Superstars to have multiple feuds simultaneously, similar to the Attitude Era.

 418.
Orton autographed a little girl’s sleeve, only for her to leave him hanging when he went for a fist bump. 421.
Randy Orton donned white tape over his left leg in a male version of the Bianca Belair situation.

 422.
There was a huge size disparity between Carmelo Hayes and Randy Orton. Hayes then disrespected Orton by slapping him in the back of the head, prompting chants of “you f—ed up!”

 423.
Unsurprisingly, Hayes got back into this match by going after Orton’s injured left knee.

 424.
Orton hit an athletic RKO to a mid air Hayes, setting up a potential upset loss to Tama Tonga and a Jey Uso vs. Tama Tonga King of the Ring final.

 446.
The F-35 jet was introduced to the US military in July 2015. There are three variants of the jet: the conventional takeoff and landing F-35A, the short takeoff and vertical landing F-35B, and the carrier-based F-35C. The variants are differentiated by how the jet takes off and lands.

 447.
Lockheed Martin touts the F-35 as the “most advanced fighter jet in the world,” with very low observable stealth, advanced sensors, information fusion, and network connectivity.

 448.
But there’s stiff competition from the J-20.

 449.
The F-35’s close encounters with the J-20 in the East China Sea in 2022 impressed a top US Air Force general, the South China Morning Post reported.

 450.
Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach, the head of US Pacific Air Forces, said in 2022 that the US had some impressions of the J-20’s performance and was tepid about its capabilities.

 451.
“It’s not anything to lose a lot of sleep over, but they seem to be a building a lot of them, and certainly, we’re watching them closely,” Wilsbach said.

 484.
Three bridesmaids who say they are going into debt just to be part of their friends’ weddings shared their stories with The Cut this week.

 485.
Deena, a 28-year-old manager at a nonprofit, told the outlet she’s expecting to spend $3,200 to be a bridesmaid at the destination wedding of a college friend whose family is wealthy.

 486.
“I’m drowning aside from this wedding, too — I have $19,000 of other debt from student loans and credit cards and medical bills. If I spent everything that Ally wanted me to, I’d probably have to move,” she said, referring to the bride.

 487.
Deena told The Cut the expenses included a $550 bridesmaid dress, $1,200 hotel stay, and flights that are unlikely to cost less than $380 — and that was just for the wedding.

 488.
When she learned the bachelorette party would be another $750 just for her share in the rental home, she told the organizer she couldn’t afford it.

 489.
“Finally, we worked out a plan where I’m paying in increments. And everyone is treating me like a charity case who’s also a bad friend and making everything difficult,” she told The Cut.

 490.
Deena said she’s getting shamed for not being able to afford everything, and that another bridesmaid even asked her, “What if you give up takeout for a month?”

 491.
The other two bridesmaid stories shared with the outlet were just as jarring. One said she spent $2,000 and put it on her credit card. The other said her total expenses for being in a friend’s wedding were $6,000, or about 10% of her take-home pay.

 492.
“How much to spend on your own wedding is your business, of course,” Charlotte Cowles, the financial advice columnist at The Cut, wrote. “But before you rope your dearest friends into your vision, maybe take a moment to consider what they can afford.”
