I live in Arlington, MA, so I decided to go with a local auto transport service. I, (regretfully), decided to use American Auto Transporters, Inc. to do the job. They promised to pick the car up in Florida on March 31, 2006, and deliver it within 4 - 8 days. I phoned them every day for a progress report, and they kept telling 'the car is in transport and is on schedule'. A week passed, no car. I called them and asked where the car was; they had no clue. Later that day the manager (Nick) called me back and told me that my car had never left the Florida dealership, But he didn't apologize, instead, HE BLAMED ME, claiming I should have known the car hadn't left Florida yet. "Most people know when their cars have left the terminal", he stated. Next, he promised the car would be picked up in Florida on Monday, April 10, 2006, and that he would "expedite the car to me", so that it would arrive either Wednesday or Thursday, (April 12-13). Well guess what? Today it's late on April 13th and no car yet. I called American Auto Transporters again, and again they don't know where my car is. NO APOLOGIES, just an annoyed sounding "Nick" saying he will try to find out and call me back, or a totally clueless female secretary telling you lies about your car's whereabouts. Two and a half hours later, still no call. I called him, again, he doesn't know where the car is.

With its clean, intuitive design, it effectively trains you on basic FL road rules and road signs, as well as penalties and defensive driving tips and tricks. It gives you 40 multiple-choice questions with 4 answer options each. If you select an incorrect answer, the system highlights the correct one for you and provides an explanation. Feel free to use the hints before answering if you need help with a particular question (no such luxury on the real test though!). Remember that you are only allowed to make 8 mistakes to pass this sample FL permit practice test, but you can re-take it as many times as you need to get prepared. At the end of the practice test, you are given your score and an opportunity to share your results on Facebook. Have fun and challenge your friends to test their knowledge, too!

 36.

The smooth 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 in the RS7 Performance produces a robust 605 horsepower, just five fewer than the 5.2-liter V-10 in the blazing-fast R8 supercar, as a matter of fact. Its 553 lb-ft of torque outmuscles the R8 by 140 lb-ft and the non-Performance RS7 by 37. The extra output comes mainly from a new overboost function and different turbocharger turbines, but the Performance’s V-8 also has revised valve timing, new exhaust valves, different camshafts, higher-efficiency radiators, and a reprogrammed control unit. (The new S8 Plus has the same 605-hp engine, but that car is tuned more for refinement versus the more-frenetic RS7.) As you’d expect, then, there’s plenty of thrust available, all the time, and it’s impossible to keep from grinning like an idiot during high-speed passing maneuvers and full-throttle romps away from stoplights. Zipping around sweeping on-ramps is fun, too, the lovely perforated steering wheel transmitting strong signals of the relationship between the meaty front tires and the pavement. The eight-speed automatic—remapped for this amped-up application—is an eager accomplice. Few paddle-shifted cars compel us to use their paddles, but the RS7 is a different beast; it’s highly satisfying to have this excellent drivetrain at your direct command. The transmission shifts instantly when you thwack the appropriate paddle, and the engine roars like a wild animal, fierce and alive. Upshifts just mean more velocity piling onto the speedometer, all the way up to a stated top speed of 190 mph. Downshifts are just as scintillating, the needle flinging up the tach and the exhaust burbling viciously. The RS7 Performance comes standard with the sport exhaust that’s optional on the 560-hp RS7. That less-powerful RS7 will continue to be available, and Audi of America execs figure the sales split will be 50/50. The $20, 100-dearer RS7 Performance is actually a good deal, since it comes with carbon-ceramic brakes that aren’t available on the base car, as well as some tasteful aesthetic upgrades and the delectable engine alterations. One note: As is sort of a trend of late—witness Dodge’s two-key strategy for its Hellcat products—the RS7 doesn’t allow its full fury to be accessed right away. One must be in Dynamic mode and/or have the transmission in the manual or sport positions in order to dip into the full 605 horses. Doing so also makes the throttle tip-in pretty touchy, so you might want to keep it in the 560-hp mode if, say, you’re shuttling your in-laws home from dinner. The Performance also gets Dynamic Ride Control suspension (DRC), which is part of the $3500 Dynamic package on the regular RS7 and trades out that car’s air suspension for sportier steel springs. The DRC dampers are connected diagonally across the car with hydraulic fluid, notably improving attack angles during cornering. The RS7 is the only current Audi with DRC, although we’ve previously experienced it in the RS4, RS5, and RS6.

 63.

Compact sedans have never offered more for your money. Once purchased primarily for their low price, high fuel efficiency and ease of operation, compacts served to inexpensively transport an individual or small family from Point A to Point B. Economy usually took priority over excitement, and buyers' aspirations often took a back seat to budget realities. Thankfully that's all changed. Today's compact sedans retain the core competencies that made them successful, but now boast much more in terms of ride quality, creature comforts, safety, technology, and even design. There's also more - and better - competition than ever. For decades the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic were kings of the segment, but in more recent years their respective thrones have been challenged by some princely upstarts. This is all positive news if you're in the market for a new compact sedan. The hard part comes down to choosing between a good sedan and a great one, or more importantly, the one that best suits your tastes and needs. And that's where this comparison comes into play. We drove six of the most popular compact sedans - a Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Kia Forte, Mazda3, Nissan Sentra, and Toyota Corolla - hundreds of miles over two days down the California coast to the San Diego area and back to Orange County to flesh out their differences. As we traveled over freeways, highways, rural roads and amid city traffic, we tested each car's attributes, for better or worse. Our editors spent another couple of days with the cars standing still, measuring real-world trunk space, assessing seat comfort, poking at controls, and testing how their tech and infotainment systems worked. The result is this, our 2014 Compact-Sedan Comparison Test. While all of these 5-passenger compact sedans feature 4-cylinder engines with similar power output, and most were priced within roughly $1, 550 of each other, distinct personalities surfaced for each. Which one is a match for yours? Here is a summary of each vehicle (in alphabetical order and with the as-tested price for our particular test model), with links to how each fares against the others. When the latest-generation Ford Focus debuted for the 2012 model year, it stood out for its looks and fun driving manners. The Focus is still stylish and nimble, but its overall sparkle has dimmed amid stiffer competition. After decades of honing, the Honda Civic remains one of the smartest choices among compact sedans. Efficient, easy to drive and loaded with features that mostly hit the mark, the Civic was also the lowest-priced among our test group. Though technically newer than its rivals by its model year (Kia tends to release its models early), the 2015 Forte costs the same as the 2014 model and brings slightly improved fuel economy to boot. The most-expensive sedan among our group, the Kia also boasts the most features and horsepower. Easily winning the title of Most Athletic, the all-new-for-2014 Mazda3 also charms with its fuel efficiency, winning design and slick infotainment system. A perennial resident of our 10 Coolest Cars Under $18, 000 list, the latest Mazda3 is better than ever. The Sentra may not have the visual pop or driving pizzazz of others, but when it comes to roominess, value and comfort, Nissan's entry stands tall. You may just think of it as a smaller version of Nissan's acclaimed Altima. Toyota's bestseller received a makeover for 2014, and the 11th-generation Corolla now brings a heavy dose of style to the party. Remaining are its efficient powertrain, roomy interior and easy operation.

 81.

Reliability Ratings show you how well vehicles have held up compared with competitive models, and the odds that you could be inconvenienced by problems and repairs. A vehicle's reliability can seriously affect how satisfied you'll be with a car over the years, and it can significantly influence resale value when you're ready to replace the vehicle. Important as it is, reliability is a difficult—and expensive—quality to evaluate, because the information has to come from vehicle owners. The more, the better. Consumer Reports provides the most available to consumers (available to subscribers). It's based on CR's annual surveys of our over 8 million magazine and website subscribers. These surveys ask about any serious problems they've had with their vehicles in the preceding 12 months. They generate hundreds of thousands of responses—the 2015 survey, for instance, provided information on more than 740, 000 vehicles—which give us a solid foundation for our reliability Ratings. We provide reliability information in several forms. For used-car buyers we give Ratings for 17 different trouble areas over ten model years, so you can see a model's individual strengths and weaknesses. We also provide a Used Car Verdict for each model year that sums up its overall reliability. The verdicts are weighted to emphasize areas such as the engine-major, transmission-major, cooling system, and drive system, which can be more serious and expensive to repair. For new-car buyers we provide a Predicted Reliability Rating that indicates how vehicles currently on sale are likely to hold up. To create these Ratings, Consumer Reports averages a model's Used Car Verdicts for the newest three model years, providing it wasn't significantly redesigned during that time. Predictions are made for some new models if the manufacturer's track record or the model's history has been consistently outstanding. All of these Ratings are included in the Reliability History charts and in the vehicle overviews. Other sources of reliability information are available online. Even if they lack the reach of Consumer Reports' data, they provide a supplemental source of information. The most widely known of these services is J.D. Power and Associates. The Power survey that would be of most interest to new-car shoppers is the Initial Quality Survey (IQS). Designed to help automakers gauge the initial quality of the vehicles they're producing, it is based on about 84, 000 responses. But it covers only the first 90 days of ownership, a period in which relatively little goes wrong. It also asks owners about many subjective impressions of their vehicles, not just serious problems they've had. J.D. Power surveys are also the source for reliability data on some other sites, such as Edmunds.com, Kelley Blue Book, and CarFax. Some websites provide reliability scores based on feedback from consumers who visit the site and fill out questionnaires. The number of reviews for a particular model, however, can range from only a handful to hundreds. MSN Autos provides service data based on input from master service technicians. This gives you details about common problems and estimated repair costs for a particular model.
