Even during the season, I'll get busy talking to colleges or going on trips to see schools, but I’ll come home from a visit on Sunday and go right to work on the lawns.”

The 6-foot-6 road-grader has become a hot commodity for DI programs after an impressive sophomore year on varsity.

“I didn’t start playing football until 7th grade,” he said. “In 8th grade, my coach told me to keep playing. Just stay working at it. I just fell in love with it my freshman year and got on to varsity this past Fall.”

Krempin’s recruitment started during the spring of his freshman year, picking up his first offer from SMU. Things took off quickly from there.

“It was crazy,” Krempin said. “Since the first offer came, more and more started coming in. It’s really just been a blessing.”

As he prepares for his junior year, Krempin holds 34 offers. He is at the epicenter of the Class of 2026 recruiting radar.

“Of course you’re going to be nervous when more people are looking at you, but for me I use it as fuel to work harder and get better," he said.

The star offensive lineman mentioned he plans to visit Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan during the year for a game. He also mentioned some school’s who are leading the pack in his recruitment.

“I would say SMU, TCU, Texas A&M and Arkansas are some school’s I really like right now,” he said. “I want a school close to home where my family could come see me play.”

Krempin already has the look of a next level offensive lineman and is currently training with Philadelphia Eagle Lane Johnson.

“He is someone I model my game after,” Krempin said. “I get to train with him in the summers and he has come over to my house. It’s been the game I love, ever since I started.”

When a young athlete watches their favorite sport on the professional level, more often than not, they think, “I want to be like them.”

The same can be said for Yarbrough.

So, I’m hoping to get into a school that can develop me, while also having a great environment to work in.

“Next year, I’m trying to put up some big numbers for our team, so that I can come into a program as a true freshman. I’ve got some schools telling me that if I work hard, they can get me onto the field early. I want to show everybody that I’m one of the best backs, and hopefully we (Crosby) can have a great turnaround and make a run in the playoffs.”

Yarbrough’s journey is far from over.

CLICK HERE To See the Complete Crosby ISD/VYPE Magazine

Poised for Regional Semifinals: Aledo set for series against Monterey

VYPE DFW takes a look at the Lady Jackrabbits' season so far:

Having outscored their opponents by a combined 305 runs this season, the team has had powerful performances on the plate that has continued to lead them to impressive victories. As Walnut Grove prepares for a Regional Semifinal match-up against another DFW-area powerhouse team, VYPE DFW takes a look into their season so far:

Three-- the number of games a brand new softball team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has lost this season. Boasting a 37-3 overall record (14-0 in district play), the Lady Wildcats came out of the wood works ready to not only make waves, but make a name for themselves in Texas high school softball. It's safe to say that the team has more than made a name for themselves with countless victories over talented area opponents; outscoring their opponents this season by a combined 285 runs.

Ella Berlage, Lyndsey Hooker, Kailee James, EB Bobbitt, Camila Spriggs, Lauren Robinson, Naomi Redman, Jeslyn Burghardt, Penelope Robles, and other talented athletes have been huge keys to the Lady Wildcats' success this season. From the beginning, the team knew they had eyes watching them as the newest softball team in the area, but not once did they waver.

Opening their season with an 8-2 victory over Lovejoy showcased the team's ability to head into a game against a strong opponent without fear. The team continued strong with several non-district victories including over the likes of MacArthur (16-0), Midlothian (6-5), Denton Guyer (3-1) Sherman (10-5), another over Lovejoy (2-1), Hebron (10-3), and more en route to district play. Once in district, the team took down every opponent in a dominating fashion including victories over Frisco Emerson (16-1), Frisco Independence (16-0), Lebanon Trail (13-0), and more.

Without hesitation, the team took to the playoffs as though they were local favorites and veterans to the playoffs. With a two-game victory over The Colony (6-0, 3-2) to make their playoff debut, the team has not taken a single second to look back as they advanced this far with victories over Wes Mesquite (12-0, 11-0), and a three-game thriller over Frisco Lone Star last week in which they won the first game 10-0, dropped the second game 6-4, then won game three by a score of 9-3.

Forney is the next team on Walnut Grove's radar and the Lady Jackrabbits will be no easy feat for Walnut Grove. The team is 36-2-3 on the season (12-0 in district play) and hungry for continued success in the playoffs. As Walnut Grove looks to continue making waves with the goal of making it to the state tournament in their inaugural season, Lady Wildcat fans can expect to continue to see focused play and a fast-paced readiness from this squad. The series begins on Thursday, May 16th at Plano East High School with the first pitch set for 7 p.m.

No Slowing Down: Rockwall softball preps for Oak Ridge

As the team continues to work toward capping their year at the state tournament, VYPE DFW takes a look at just what fans should expect as they head into a regional semifinal series against Oak Ridge!

Five victories began the Lady Yellowjackets' season as they powered over Keller, Clear Lake, Vista Ridge, Cypress Woods, and Lake Belton in non-district play. Continuing to learn from valuable moments, the team recorded more, strong wins over the likes of McKinney Boyd, Plano East, Plano, and more before heading into district play where fans were confident of the team's ability to get the job done game in and game out.

Earned confidence helped lead Rockwall to outstanding victories in district play including those over Rockwall-Heath (15-0, 6-2), Royce City (10-2, 1-0), North Forney (12-0, 8-1), and other talented opponents. Ava Wallace, Chloe Phe, Rylie Swindall, Rachel Lawyer, Presley Brott, Addie Kelly, and Kendall Scroggins are just some of the athletes on the Yellowjackets' squad who showed up ready to get the job done and secure their top-of the leaderboard standings in their district rankings. Finishing the regular season with an undefeated district ecord (12-0) over their opponents, this team was poised for greatness as they entered the playoffs.

So far through playoff matchups, Rockwall has seen some of their most challenging opponents yet without batting an eye. Defeating Sachse in the first round (13-3, 7-0) helped Rockwall advance to a round two sweep over Lake Ridge (1-0, 5-4). With some of the closest games they have played all season, the team proved their ability to take a challenge head-on while continuing to power forward. Round three saw a hard-fought 6-4 victory in 11 innings over Wylie before the team took the series with a 10-2 victory the following day.

This week, the Lady Yellowjackets prepare for Oak Ridge-- a team that has lost only four games all season (31-4, 14-2). This season, the team's dedication to their craft alongside Coach McDonald's coaching has helped lead the Panthers to a state championship victory!

All season, the team has been led by the likes of Gigi Enrico, Maria Lowder, Taylor Willis, Reagan Holmes, and other talented athletes as they fought to prove their place at the top of the leaderboards through every game they played. Defeating several talented teams including Plano (11-1, 12-5), Bishop Lynch (11-7), Grapevine (12-11), John Paul II (13-12, 10-9), and more, Parish Episcopal was able to showcase power in every step that led them to the state title matchup against Reagan.

Reagan, no easy feat, was ready to put up a fight and put a stop to the Panthers and their regular fast-paced style of play. However, the Panthers were not willing to go down without a fight. After taking an initial lead over Parish, Reagan fans were sure they were going to leave the tournament with a title, but the Panthers had something different in mind.

Fighting back and securing the close, 13-12 victory, the Parish Episcopal Panthers were the ones to walk away victorious. Willing to go the extra mile and not stop when things got tough, the team showcased powerful resiliency as well as a cohesiveness that secured a strong finish in the game. Fans can expect this squad to continue putting in the effort for many seasons to come as they look to add more championship banners to the school's hall of fame.

Ready to reclaim their title, the lacrosse team took on several challenges throughout the year that ultimately led them right back into the playoffs and eventually into the state tournament. Fighting tooth and nail without hesitation or a moment of doubt, the athletes continued to play every game as if it were their last game of the season; reaping the benefits of hoisting the championship trophy with a 12-10 victory over The Woodlands in the state championship game. In the game, Browne scored a resounding five goals while Logan scored four of his own.

Head coach Jay Sothoron had only incredible things to say about this squad as they showcased not only skill, but impeccable leadership this season: "The last two years we lost at the state semifinal game by a goal and the state championship by a goal so we have been close," said Sothoron. "This year's team just got better every week. We dealt with a lot of injuries and had to beat three very good teams in the playoffs to win the state championship."

"Our young men just brought a different level of toughness and grit," Sothoron continued. "We made mistakes, but our work ethic and resilience were the foundation of success for us. We were able to put The Woodlands in a lot of pressure situations which caused turnovers that we capitalized on. This year's group played with an intensity that they are not going to lose. I n the end, we won as a team where our kids did not car who got the individual accolades. They played together and they earned the right to be state champs!"

With the offseason to prep for next year, fans can expect this squad to come back with the same tenacity and resilience that has led them deep into the playoffs for several years running. The team has the ability to record a repeat, but for now they deserve the well-earned chance to celebrate their championship!

STAR POWER: Auguste, Carlton, Minor carry banner for VYPE's Top 50 Females of 2023-24

He was the No. 1 QB in the nation and led his team to a district title and deep into the postseason... which was historic. He graduated early and is already making waves at the University of Florida. He also played basketball and baseball during his tenure at Willis. Lagway was the most newsworthy and biggest game-changer in Houston in 2023-24.

Coming in a close second is Jelani Watkins of Atascocita. He transferred from Klein Forest, where he helped the Golden Eagles win a state title in track and field. He led Atascocita to a state title this season and helped the Eagles set national records in the relays and break the internet. Watkins also starred for the football team at WR and will take his talents to LSU starting this fall.

 95.

Imagine this... Episcopal's Karson Gordon set the all-time national high school triple jump record this spring. That means as long as the triple jump has been an event in high school track and field across the country, Gordon is the all-time best. As the Knights' QB, he led Episcopal to a SPC title in football and signed with UCLA. What a legacy.

Woodlands (Game 1: 1-0 W, Game 2: 11-1 L, Game 3: 7-6) to enter the Regional Quarters for the first time since 2021.

Coach Paul Orlando directs this talented young squad, which features the talents of Miles Syptak, Carson Phillips, Austin Glasscock, Benjamin Barrera, and Anthony Key, just to name a few.

Pitching has been a strong suit for the Bears, and that's unlikely to change when they face Klein Oak.

Under the direction of coach Bo Hernandez, <a href="https://www.vype.com/Texas/Houston/bases-loaded-no-8-klein-oak-aims-to-repeat-in-district-and-more" VYPE’s Jackson DiPasquale caught up with the new Aggie commit about the decision, his senior year and more!

The commitment to Texas A&M came down to three things for Sellers, the consistency with the staff, the distance from home and how the Aggies plan to use the talented DB.

Consistency with the Staff

“The consistency with Coach Peterson really made me feel like this was home,” he said. “We had been talking since he was at Kansas and even though he knew I wasn’t going to go there he still showed he wanted me and that played a factor when he moved to A&M.”

Location

“When I went up to college Station it just felt right. It was only an hour, hour and 30 minutes from my house which is a big deal to have my family come to every home game.”

Plan For Future

“Coach Elko and Coach Bateman actually showed me how they used me. They also have corners already there that resemble how I play and want to be built when I get to college.”

Sellers also mentioned the culture change that he has seen with the Aggies since Coach Elko has arrived at campus and being able to play in the SEC with defensive minds like Bateman and Elko.

“Coach Elko is going in there and setting rules and standards that will help a team win and be successful,” he said. “I want to be apart of a program like that.”

“The SEC is the closest thing to the NFL without being in the NFL, it doesn’t get more physical than the SEC. I feel like going to A&M with Coach Elko and Coach Bateman, they run their defense like an NFL defense which will prepare me for the next level.”

Now committed before for his senior year, Sellers is focused on helping Shadow Creek get back to the State Championship.

“It’s big because I’m coming back from an injury from last year,” Sellers said. “Knowing where I am going is huge because now I’m focused on making it to State and winning a State Championship for Shadow Creek.”

VYPE Live Lineup - Saturday 5/11/24
