18.

Introduction Windows Sidebar is a long, vertical bar that is displayed on the side of Windows Vista and Windows 7 desktops. It contains mini-programs called gadgets, which offer information at a glance and provide easy access to frequently used tools. It’s a great feature, born of the best of intentions, but unfortunately malware and exploit writers are leveraging gadgets running in Windows Sidebar to potentially take complete control of a user’s computer. This is why Microsoft has retired the feature in newer releases of Windows and recommends that Windows Vista and Windows 7 customers who are concerned about vulnerable or malicious gadgets disable the feature as soon as possible. Disabling Windows Sidebar and Gadgets This article will provide beginning and advanced users with several different options for disabling Windows Sidebar and gadgets. This article addresses the following options: Disable Windows Sidebar and gadgets using an automated Fix it solution Disable Windows Sidebar and gadgets using the system registry Disable Windows Sidebar and gadgets using Group Policy Before You Begin Choose the option for disabling Windows Sidebar and gadgets that best suits your computing environment and level of expertise. If you are implementing the procedure on your personal machine or fewer than two computers, then the Fix it solution is probably the best option for you. However, if you are familiar with working with the registry editor, then the system registry procedure is an option as well. Lastly, if you are a system administrator and Group Policy is enabled on your network, then the Group Policy procedure will allow you to implement the procedure on multiple systems across your network. Required Credentials Most of the procedures in this document require an administrative account. A regular user will not be able to perform these tasks. To determine your user account type on Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Start and then click your user account picture to open the User Accounts window. Your user account type is listed below your user name.

Of course, that is entirely up to you but you will get a long way with buying an inverter instead. We are (at least myself) taking with us more devices than ever. We are not only bringing our laptops but also smartphones and tablets. All of them want their share of power and it is my suggestion that an inverter is the best and cheapest choice if you want to charge multiple devices at the same time. Whats An Inverter? Its a device you plug in to your cars 12-volt outlet. It converts it into 120V AC power. It looks like this: and is a bestseller on Amazon. As you can see it also has USB ports on its side. Meaning you can charge your smartphone or any other USB device at the same time charging your laptop. Make sure you have an eye on the watt though. The one pictured above is rated for 150w and the biggest charger Apple ships with their laptops is rated at 85W so it should be plenty of headroom for you there.

So you undoubtedly understand the importance of keeping these gadgets charged between appointments. Duracell also understands the importance of having some power insurance, just in case you can’t recharge your gadgets with your standard wall charger.{ad} Duracell has announced a new USB Auto Car Charger that is a low profile charger that fits almost entirely inside the DC outlet of a car or other vehicle. When you plug in the charger to the outlet, the device illuminates with a blue light so you know that it’s got the juice to pass on to your USB powered devices. The charger includes three different connectors so that it will work with devices that support standard USB, mini USB, or micro USB ports. Unfortunately Duracell has not announced when their new USB auto charger will be released or the price point. But once it does, this is something you should definitely keep on hand if your access to AC outlets is limited.

Many "concept cars" of our times are just thinly disguised production cars. This aero-shaped monolith is a dream car in the classic sense. Powered by two electric motors and designed for fuel cell technology, it cranks out up to 272-horsepower, with a sustained output of 163-horsepower. That is "at the lower level of what is acceptable in the luxury class, " admits project director Jürgen Weissinger. It can still reach 125 mph, nonetheless. What's more, it can do it all by itself: If desired, the F015 drives autonomously! In this mode, the front passengers have the option of swiveling their seats around, and turning the car into a veritable lounge. The interior concept, with its lighting effects and concave surfaces, is positively stunning. If the driver chooses to get behind the wheel himself, that's no problem. It drives "just like an S-class, " says Weissinger. The Volkswagen Golf R Touch hopes for a button-less future. (Matthias Knödler) The Golf R relies on gesture control and three large screens in the cabin. (Matthias Knödler) Tesla wasn't the first carmaker attempting to ban conventional buttons from car interiors - the first system was BMW's infamous iDrive in the E65 7-series. But with that large central touch-screen display, Tesla took it to the utmost level. At least, up until now. In Las Vegas, Volkswagen is showing a button-less Golf R, called the Golf R Touch. It works with gesture control and three separate large screens. This Golf's level of sophistication is unmatched. We'll see it in series production within two years - in the next-gen Phaeton luxury sedan. Tesla, you’ve been warned. 3. Laser lights Laser lights seemed like a gimmick when it was launched in the BMW i8 and the Audi R8 LMX last year. Who needs high beams stretching for almost a half mile? It's not even legal in the US. But now, the technology is beginning to make sense. Laser light will be used for low-beam and high-beam applications. With their incredibly precise beam, they can indicate the width of the vehicle onto the road, which is extremely helpful in narrow lanes (e.g. in construction zones). There's more; they could project crosswalks onto the road if you choose to let a pedestrian pass and the car determines that the surroundings are safe.

 63.

This is a weird one. These chargers clearly induce some electrical interference (making the CE mark questionable). We have 3 cars fitted with DAB radio. 2 Volvo V70s - one with an Alpine DAB adaptor, the other with a Volvo factory DAB and a VW Polo with a Sony DAB. I ordered 4 of these chargers doe our iPhones and Blackberrys and put one in the cigar lighter of each car on the same day. I noticed a drop in DAB signal in my Volvo that I thought was a BBC fault. After a couple of days I even emailed the BBC complaining about the reduced signal in my area. Then my wife said "what's wrong with DAB in my car? FM is fine." Still I didn't link it to these chargers, Then our son said "why can't I get 6Music in the Polo?" Still, I thought this a transmitter problem. Then, sitting in a car park, frustrated with the "no signal" display on my car DAB, I inadvertently pulled out the Griffin USB charger and DAB sprang back into life. I removed the chargers from our other cars and, you've guessed it, the DAB radios returned immediately to full strength.

OK, so you have a seemingly bad AGM battery, you attach it to your charger and…CLICK. The charger won't even charge it! "It must be a bad battery!" you exclaim. Or is it? In many cases, OPTIMA batteries that are assumed to be bad may actually be perfectly fine, just deeply discharged. Cars from affordable brands like Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai and others offer so much value at price points that are infinitely more reasonable. These company’s have also been packing features and options into their cars that have historically only been available on vehicles that cost twice as much, or even more. Of course, there are certainly still some features more commonly found on pricey cars that you won’t get on an affordable vehicle, but sometimes there are ways around that. For example, the KKmoon A8 HUD adds a full-featured head up display to any car out there, and it only costs$48 on Amazon.
