24.
53% of the voters think the Saints will re-claim the title of division champions and come in 1st place in the NFC South. Now that the schedule is out, we know that the Saints will get to open the season at home, star in 3 primetime games and have a late November bye week.

  32.
Given that the Saints have one of the easiest schedules this year, fans seem fairly confident in the team’s ability to come out on top of the division and march into the playoffs this year. But first, it all starts when the season kicks off on Sunday, September 8th against the Carolina Panthers.

  62.

  63.
After 157 votes, former Commanders and Bears LT Charles Leno won with 34.4% of the vote. Clearly in favor of bringing in another tackle, even after drafting Taliese Fuaga in the first round of the draft, Leno is a free agent after spending three years in Washington and seven in Chicago. The Saints could bring Leno in as a veteran backup to Trevor Penning who could step in whenever needed if Penning struggles or any lineman misses time. Despite being a 7th round pick, Leno is a Pro Bowler and has been a starting left tackle for the last 9 seasons. The four games he missed last season were the first since his rookie year in 2014. Leno would be a low risk high reward option for the Saints to bolster their offensive line.

  64.
Coming in a close second with 28% of the vote was former Dolphins DE Emmanuel Ogbah. Ogbah got 24.5 sacks in his four years in Miami, and has the versatility to swing inside to tackle as well as play on the edge. Another depth addition, Ogbah could add another body on the Saints defensive line that could contribute a few sacks when needed and provide a veteran presence should anyone miss time. Yet another potential low risk high reward addition, the Saints should take a good look at both Leno and Ogbah if they seek to bolster either the offensive or defensive lines before OTAs.

  86.
Let's look at the first 6 games of this season.

The NFL officially released the 18-week schedule for all 32 teams on Wednesday, revealing a tough start for the New Orleans Saints.

  91.
  92.
  93.

  94.
Although the Saints will open the season by hosting the Carolina Panthers, who bolstered the worst record in the NFL in 2023, their next five matchups will be tough. The Saints will travel to Dallas for their Week 2 matchup with the regular season merchant Dallas Cowboys who have posted three consecutive 12-win seasons. New Orleans will continue to face NFC East opponents when they host the Philidelphia Eagles in Week 3. The Eagles have made the playoffs in six of their last seven seasons including two Super Bowl appearances.

  95.
The Saints will face another divisional opponent in Week 4 when they travel to Atlanta to challenge a revamped Atlanta Falcons. Unlike the Saints’ Week 2 and 3 matchups, Atlanta has been disappointing for the last few seasons, failing to secure more than seven wins in their last six seasons. However, the Falcons signed veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins during the off-season and are the favorites to win the NFC South.

  96.
In what may be the most difficult matchup for New Orleans during the 2024 season, the Saints will take on the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium. Arrowhead is notoriously known for being one of the toughest atmospheres in the NFL and the Saints will face them on national TV, intensifying the pressure.

  97.

  98.

  99.
Based on what's been reported, Saints are looking at a 10-day stretch with 3 games Weeks 5-7

- MNF @ Chiefs
- Home vs Bucs (short week)
- TNF at home vs Broncos (even shorter week)

Also, 2 cold-weather games late in the year. Schedule-makers not exactly doing Saints any favors. https://t.co/z0VuZFbQRu
— Jeff Nowak (@Jeff_Nowak) May 15, 2024
  100.

  101.
  102.
  103.

  104.
For their Week 6 matchup, the Saints will return to the Caesars Superdome to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winners of the NFC South in 2023. Buccaneers’ quarterback Baker Mayfield had a rejuvenating year for his career during Tampa Bay’s 2023 campaign and could be the starter for the team for the coming years. The Saints split games with the Buccaneers last season with the Week 4 loss being a vital reason why they missed the playoffs.

  105.
The Saints got hot late during the 2023 season while making a playoff push and will look to continue with the momentum they had to start their 2024 campaign but with a tough first-half schedule, New Orleans will have to steal games as underdogs if they wish to make a playoff push in the new season.

The Los Angeles Chargers will travel 26,803 miles for their schedule followed by the Miami Dolphins at 25,869.

  131.
The Black and Gold will travel to Dallas, Atlanta, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Charlotte, New York, Green Bay, and Tampa Bay.

  132.
The Saints will open the regular season at home against Carolina, but most of their preseason and their training camp will take place on the West Coast in California.

  225.
Parris Campbell

  226.

  227.
Although the Giants made strides to improve in some areas, they also got worse in others. The notable additions of Malik Nabers and Brian Burns headline these moves, but the losses of Saquon Barkley and Xavier Mckinney overshadow them. Going into the offseason, one of the main questions was whether the Giants could change quarterback. The result was Drew Lock signing with the team in free agency and Brian Daboll putting his trust in Daniel Jones for another season.

  228.
How do the Saints matchup with the Giants

  229.

  230.
  231. Danielle Parhizkaran/NorthJersey.com
  232.

  233.
The Giants are coming off a 6-11 season, while the Saints are coming off a 9-8 season. Both teams have gotten better and worse in different areas, but the Saints are in a better spot. Going position by position, starting with QB, the Saints win this battle, but Daniel Jones can threaten with his legs. At RB, WR, and TE, the Saints also have better players in these position groups, but as many LSU fans know, Malik Nabers can change a game. Both offensive lines have many questions around them.

  234.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Giants have fewer questions regarding the defensive line. The Saints are very familiar with Brian Burns, and their familiarity will not stop him from dominating. The opposite is true for the DB and linebacker rooms, with the Saints winning those matchups.

  235.
Considering all of this, the Saints should be able to win this game. The worrying thing is that this has been true in past seasons, and the Giants have pulled out surprise wins. If the Saints go into the game not underestimating their opponent, then it should be a win.

  294.
  295.
Hello all!

Hello! My name is Dylan Flippo and I am a 21-year-old communications major from Arkabutla, Mississippi. I am ecstatic to be a contributing writer at the Canal Street Chronicles, where I provide coverage of the New Orleans Saints.

  296.
As I transition into my final year at Mississippi State University, I was in search of a publication to express my passion for professional sports that would allow me to expand and improve my portfolio. After a conversation with editor-in-chief Tina Howell, I knew that the Canal Street Chronicles was the place I wanted to be. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of sports journalism and providing in-depth content about all things Saints.

  297.
Growing up in a rural town of no more than 300 people, I always aspired to work in sports. I entered my freshman year in Starkville as a meteorology major, but it did not last long once I found the world of journalism.

  298.
I began my writing career as a sportswriter at Mississippi State’s student newspaper. From there, I was hooked. I worked college softball my first two months at The Reflector before I got the call with an offer to help expand coverage of the Bulldogs over at Mississippi State’s Sports Illustrated site named Cowbell Corner. I continued writing for both publications over the summer of my freshman year, and shortly after I received an incredible offer to become the next sports editor at The Reflector.

  299.
I spent the next year working countless hours in the office to build a staff full of energetic writers, who wanted to create a foundation for creative and informative work for years to come. After my time as sports editor was finished, I joined the Mississippi State athletic department as an athletics communication assistant — where I currently work.

  300.
I am thrilled to join the amazing staff here at Canal Street Chronicles and look forward to providing unique and creative Saints content alongside talented writers.
