86.
Climate Hope Summer Internship (8 internships), Extended close date: May 19, 2024 (National Offices United Church of Christ)

 87.

OVERVIEW

 88.
 89.
This is a summer internship devoted to the success of a UCC campaign called Vote for Climate Hope. The principal task of interns will be to collect voter pledge cards that prioritize a commitment to a more just and equitable world for present and future generations. Interns will be trained and coached on engaging the public for the advancement of climate justice. Interns will have numeric goals to achieve and will be directed to places of engagement ranging from UCC churches to local farmers markets and public spaces with high pedestrian traffic. Applicants should be comfortable speaking before a progressive church audience in the context of a worship service. In addition to regular calls with the lead organizers of this campaign, interns from across the country will form a cohort that will meet regularly via Zoom to learn about environmental justice and faith-based organizing as well as the overall campaign effort. Beyond voter pledge card collection, other opportunities to further environmental justice may arise as circumstances require. In accord with laws prohibiting political campaign activity by 501(c)(3) organizations, this internship will not involve the endorsement of any electoral candidates.
