Moreover, the court has demanded the disclosure of investigation outcomes to Veera within 15 days.
Veera, leading the charge against corruption, threatened further legal action in a fiery Facebook post.
“You’re getting closer to prison.”
The contentious case dates back to 2017 when Prawit’s ostentatious display of luxury watches sparked public outrage. Social media sleuths unearthed a trove of 22 luxury timepieces not declared in Prawit’s asset statement.
Initially brushing off the furore, Prawit claimed the watches were mere borrowings from a supposed close friend. However, this explanation failed to assuage mounting public scrutiny.
Veera’s relentless pursuit of justice culminated in a complaint lodged with the NACC Office in December 2017, triggering a chain of events that exposed institutional inertia and evasion, reported The Nation.
Despite the NACC’s 5:3 vote to dismiss the case in 2018, Veera’s dogged persistence led to legal victories culminating in the recent court order.

Leading the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), the 78 year old’s financial declaration grabbed headlines, shedding light on his opulent lifestyle and extensive assets, as mandated by his role as SAT board chairman, which requires triennial asset disclosures.
Gen Prawit declared himself “single,” unveiling assets totalling 87.84 million baht, alongside a minor debt of 757 baht. His wealth comprised hefty bank deposits of 40.48 million baht, investments valued at 6.53 million baht, prime real estate in Bangkok and Pathum Thani worth approximately 10 million baht, and a collection of five luxury vehicles valued at 13.6 million baht, among other assets.
The Bangkok-born politician’s reported annual income of 2.34 million baht, including pension sums, living allowances, and previous governmental salaries, paled in comparison to the worth of his assets.
Of particular note were his luxury vehicles, notably a Jaguar I-Pace AWD HSE worth 4 million baht and a Mercedes Benz V250d valued at 2.5 million baht, acquired in June 2021 and June 2022 respectively.
Additionally, Gen. Prawit disclosed owning a TW Steel watch valued at around 15,000 baht, nine rings worth approximately 132,000 baht, and a trio of handguns, including a Colt, Sig Sauer, and Smith & Wesson.
This bombshell disclosure follows earlier controversies surrounding Gen. Prawit, notably the Supreme Administrative Court’s order for the NACC to divulge findings from an investigation into allegations of false asset declarations, stemming from a scandal involving a cache of luxury watches and rings, reported Bangkok Post.

Emergency services from the Traikunatham Foundation quickly rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found Jakkrakrit, an employee of the Ban Suan Town Municipal Office, critically injured. First responders immediately administered CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life before providing initial first aid.
The <a href="https://thethaiger.com/tag/motorcycle">motorcycle</a> rider, 39 year old Sukanya was also injured and both victims were swiftly transported to Chon Buri Hospital for urgent care.
The white Toyota Revo pickup truck was discovered at the scene with its driver-side door severely damaged. Nearby, a black Honda Scoopy motorcycle was found lying on its side, the front end wrecked from the impact.
Sukanya recounted that she was following the pickup truck when it suddenly stopped and the driver opened the door to alight from the vehicle, leaving her no time to brake and resulting in the collision.
The police have planned to interrogate both drivers thoroughly to ascertain the details of the incident and proceed with legal action accordingly, reported Khaosod.
The unexpected opening of a vehicle door on a busy street is always a perilous hazard for motorcyclists and cyclists alike.
Local authorities are now investigating to determine accountability and to reinforce the message that road safety and awareness is a shared responsibility, negligence could lead to fatal consequences.

The daring smuggler had brazenly tried to slip through security checks upon his arrival on AirAsia flight FD-140 from Bangkok.
A spokesperson for the Police Narcotics Bureau emphasised the seriousness with which authorities tackle such illicit activities, reported Daily Mirror Sri Lanka.
“This seizure is a significant victory in our ongoing battle against narcotics trafficking.”
In related news, Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin announced a significant shift in Thailand’s drug policy. He expressed his intention to <a href="https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thailands-health-minister-proposes-change-to-amphetamine-possession-law">reduce the minimum amount of amphetamine tablets that would classify possession as a criminal act</a>. Currently, the law considers possession of five or more tablets as a crime, a reduction from the previous threshold of 15, implemented last year.
After speaking to the press after his initial executive board meeting since his recent appointment, Somsak outlined his primary focus on combating narcotics.
In other news, Manchester Crown Court witnessed a case where a 27 year old man was exposed as a <a href="https://thethaiger.com/news/national/drug-mule-busted-with-30-kg-of-cannabis-at-manchester-airport">drug mule caught with a staggering 30 kilogrammes of cannabis at Manchester Airport</a>. The man’s involvement in the smuggling saga began when a dispute emerged following a charity boxing event.
To settle the feud, the suspect embarked on a trip to Thailand in December last year. Customs officials intercepted the man upon his return to Manchester, detaining him after discovering the hefty consignment of class B drugs in his possession.
Despite being paid 2,000 British pounds (approximately 90,000 baht) for his role and having his expenses covered, the drug mule refused to reveal the identities of his accomplices.

The staff recounted the incident to the police, explaining that they had heard a woman, approximately 20 years old, shouting vulgarities at other shoppers outside the shop before entering. Once inside, she requested to try on a pair of sandals size 37, priced at 2,390 baht.
The staff accommodated her request, only to witness the woman calmly leaving the store wearing the unpaid sandals and carrying her old shoes. She did not attempt to flee but was apprehended by mall security before exiting the premises.
While awaiting the police, staff and security questioned the woman’s motives. Her responses were perplexing, and she even asked the guard to pay for the sandals.
The thief remained unable to provide clear details to officers during the questioning at the police station. This has led to speculation that she may have a mental health issue. Police have not yet provided updates on the questioning or potential charges.
This incident echoes another case that occurred in February 2022, when a <a href="https://thethaiger.com/news/pattaya/woman-steals-car-of-app-based-driver-in-chon-buri">Thai woman stole a taxi</a> and compelled the driver to exit the vehicle on a road in Bangkok. According to her mother, the woman committed the crime as a result of an emotional breakdown following a car accident.
However, police disputed the mother’s claim, saying the woman was able to respond to police’s question and did not display any signs of <a href="https://thethaiger.com/news/pattaya/thai-man-feigns-mental-illness-to-evade-arrest-for-motorbike-theft">mental illness</a>. It remains unclear whether she underwent a medical evaluation to support her mother’s claim.

There are indications that investors anticipate fewer significant Bitcoin fluctuations, in the derivatives <a href="https://thethaiger.com/tag/market">market</a>, compared to the volatility that accompanied the launch of the US ETFs.
The T3 Bitcoin Volatility Index, which uses options prices to predict expected 30-day token fluctuations, and the equivalent gauge for the second-ranked digital asset Ether, are both at approximately two-month lows.
As of 7.10am in London on Thursday, <a href="https://www.google.com/finance/quote/BTC-THB?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwizvPvFqICGAxWJS2wGHejfDOgQ-fUHegQIBhAY">Bitcoin’s value</a> remained relatively steady at US$61,660, while Ether saw a 2% increase to US$3,009, reported Bangkok Post.
