Even though it was just for a camp, the Aggies have already made a huge impact in his recruitment.

“Getting offered by Coach Bateman and the Texas A&M staff was a blessing. Putting in work at their top notch facility and getting offered by a place like that, where they are super close to home puts them at a high place on my school list for sure.”

The rising Junior will be hitting camps at Ohio State, Houston and potentially Baylor in the coming weeks. Credit also mentioned he has been hearing from Texas Tech, Alabama and others as of late.

As far as the upcoming season goes, Credit is ready to be the leader on the Oilers defense this Fall, after playing through injury last year.

“Being injured last year just taught me how to push through adversity,” Credit said. “I just want to get double the stats I got last year, 100+ tackles, a bunch of sacks. I really just want to play fast and make plays for my teammates to win.”

One of the fast risers in the 2026 class, expect Credit’s offer list to grow as the rest of the Summer unfolds, and expect for him to make a comeback during his junior campaign.

CHECK MATE: Fulshear’s Bryant commits to UH; talks senior year

over fellow super-power Pearland, marking their first championship since 2013.

Furthermore, teams such as Magnolia West, Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Lake Creek, Clear Springs, Willis, Memorial, Friendswood, and Santa Fe were among the multitude of H-Town clubs to enjoy lengthy runs in the postseason.

In the private school sector, Second Baptist claimed their seventh TAPPS-II overall, with a rematch of last year's State Final against Flower Mound on the docket.

After being named the GHBCA 6A Coach of the Year in 2023, fifth-year head coach David Rogers has continued to cultivate a championship culture within the Oilers' organization, which is also a testament to the dedication of his staff and players.

Rogers and company have their eye on claiming the team's first state title since 1980, and it all begins this Friday (4:00 pm) at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Hitchcock Boys Basketball

<img alt="" class="rm-shortcode" the direction of coach Christopher Jordan-Foster, the Bulldogs proceeded to claim their second-consecutive UIL-3A state championship this past Winter, with their 53-49 victory over Ponder at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Hitchcock featured a bevy of stars, particularly TABC All-State selections Damien McDaniel (UIL-3A State MVP), Lloyd Jones III (District 24-3A MVP), and Elijah Sherwood (District 24-3A Offensive MVP), who propelled the team to a historic finish in March.

While McDaniel has since graduated, it will be up to the aforementioned Jones III, Sherwood, as well as all-district selections Kamari McNeal, Maleek Clark, and Kelshaun Johnson to uphold the standard of this exceptional program in 2025.

Iowa Colony Girls Track & Field

<img alt="" class="rm-shortcode" data-rm-shortcode-id="6c5ca7421225435c22d1b8a4d9461f9f" data-rm-shortcode-name="rebelmouse-image" id="c6d56" loading="lazy" Wilturner, Arius Williams, Aysha Mitchell, and Adriana Murry -- coach Rachel Easley would see her team claim the school's first-ever state championship, since its establishment in 2022.

The Pioneers accumulated 58 total points to end up in the No. 1 spot, which also featured gold finishes from sophomore Lewis in the 400m Dash (54.31 s), in addition to the relay team, which placed first in the 4x400m.

Similarly, coach Aundra Long's boys team would also walk away with the UIL-4A title to complete an extraordinary precedent set by the budding Iowa Colony organization. Craig Sikkema's squad has become a staple within the realm of Texas high school swimming, and this past season was indicative of that fact.

Friendswood wound up placing second overall at the UIL State Meet, with a combined total of 183 points by the end of February's competition at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

This was thanks, in large part, to the efforts made by senior Tony Laurito, who took gold in the 200-yard IM (1:48.13) and 100-yard Backstroke (49.04 s), individually, while also playing a key role in the team's top finishes in the 200-yard Medley (1:31.54) and 400-yard Freestyle (3:07.46) Relays.

Laurito will now ascend to the collegiate level, where he'll continue his swimming career at the University of Tennessee.

Mackenzie Collins -- Shadow Creek Track & Field/Volleyball

<img alt="" class="rm-shortcode" data-rm-shortcode-id="13c7038ecd2eacbd4838463b98d3fab4" data-rm-shortcode-name="rebelmouse-image" id="071ab" super-star Mackenzie Collins is making herself well-known among the bevy of prolific athletes that comprise Houston-area high school sports.

The incoming Shadow Creek senior made her mark at the UIL State Track & Field Meet last month, where she won the Class 6A title in the 300m Hurdles (41.59 s) event, while also contributing a pair of crucial performances for the Sharks' relay team, which took silver in the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays.

When all was said and done at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Shadow Creek would end up being named the UIL-6A State Runner-Ups.

Not only that, but Collins should be regarded as one of the top volleyball players in the city heading into next Fall, following her transfer from Episcopal during the 2023-24 school year, in which she earned All-SPC honors prior to her move to Shadow Creek.

The Texas A&M-commit (Volleyball) and Houston Skyline standout can seemingly do it all. The sky is the limit for Collins as she enters the final year of her stellar high school career.

Flower Mound has put in the work and they're reaping the rewards as they prepare to take on Pearland in the UIL Class 6A Baseball State Semifinals. VYPE DFW takes a look at their season and what fans can expect moving forward:

So Far

The likes of Garrett Wallace, Adrian Rodriguez, Wes Brown, Cody Brady, Adam Hawrylak, Sam Distel, Josh Glaser, Zane Becker, and other talented athletes began Flower Mound's hunt for a repeat early in non-district play as the team secured victories over tough opponents including Barbe, Opelousas Catholic, Gulfport, Arlington, Keller, Wylie, Aledo, Frisco Lone Star, and more. As they sharpened their skills and prepared for their district schedule, it was clear that there was going to be nothing that could possibly stand in the way of their goals this season.

In district play, the team went undefeated with a 14-0 record and a top-of-the-standings finish in their district. Victories over Flower Mound Marcus, Plano, Plano West, Lewisville, Coppell, and more powered their motivation and fire when inching toward postseason play. With determination, the team waltzed into the playoffs and took down Little Elm (7-1, 6-4), Dallas Jesuit (3-1, 10-0), Prosper (1-0, 5-3), Keller (1-6, 2-1, 10-4), and, most recently, Richardson's JJ Pearce (5-4, 0-3, 6-2) in order to punch their ticket back to the state tournament and continue their mission.

What to Expect

The team is searching for their third title in their fifth appearance at the state tournament. With titles in 2014 and 2023, the Jaguars are already used to this level of play and can be expected to play at their very best from the moment they step foot onto the diamond until the final moments of the last inning. Looking to take down Pearland, the team can be expected to bring the heat at the plate, but also remain focused and cohesive as a defensive unit. Pearland boasts a 36-8 record and can be expected to be one of the biggest challenges Flower Mound has seen so far this season. Remaining determined should help power the team to the state finals in Round Rock, Texas!

STATE SEMIFINALS: Gunter enters 10th appearance at UIL State

As they gear up to take on Franklin in the state semifinals, VYPE DFW takes a look at the team and what fans can expect moving forward:

So Far

Ready to put hard work to the test right out of the gate this season, Gunter went on a 15-game win streak through non-district play against other programs who have their own reputations in the area. Downing the likes of Prosper, Panther Creek, Kimball, Aubrey, Denison, North Garland, and others through their non-district schedule, athletes like Walker Overman, Brock Boddie, Cade Dodson, Colson Wood, Brooks Griggs-Bell, Jarrett Waggoner, Carter Layton, Jordan Villagrana, Jake Ivey, and others made sure that they were prepared for a district schedule that had the potential to challenge them.

With no doubt and zero hesitation, the Gunter Tigers shut out teams in eight of their 12 district matchups while posting an undefeated 12-0 district record; finishing at the top of their district standings. Defeating Bells, Leonard, Pottsboro, Howe, Blue Ridge, and more in dominating fashion helped the Tigers finish their regular season without a single loss against their opponents and head into the postseason on a high note.

With their only loss coming in the postseason, the Tigers have been able to play with resiliency and strength as they took down Grand Saline (16-3, 11-0), Ponder (1-0), Edgewood (3-0, 1-2, 4-0), Tatum (9-2), and Boyd (3-1, 3-2) before punching their ticket to the state tournament for the 10th time.

What To Expect

Gearing up to play against Franklin should prove to be a feat that the Tigers are up to. Franklin boasts a 33-5 overall record this season with tough athletes like Blake Autrey, Dylan Stallones, Josh Atomanczyk, and others, but Gunter has faced several talented teams that didn't even begin to phase them this season. The Mustangs will look to cap off the year with a title during this weekend's competition.

Additionally, programs such as Katy, Lake Creek, Heights, Bridgeland, Brazoswood, Foster, Oak Ridge, and Barbers Hill were among the plethora of Houston-area teams to have extended playoff runs over the past few weeks.

The Episcopal Knights claimed their seventh-consecutive SPC championship to further solidify their dynasty-status, while St. Agnes As they team hunts for continued success in the regional finals, VYPE DFW takes a look into the program!

So Far

Through the regular season, the Gunter Tigers posted a flawless record with 29 consecutive victories over talented opponents. Starting the year off with incredible non-district victories, Gunter defeated the likes of Prosper, Panther Creek, Kimball, Whitesboro, North Garland, Windthorst, and more in dominating fashion. With the tone set for the rest of their season, Gunter kicked it into high gear as they entered district play.

With an incredible, undefeated record throughout the regular season, the team posted a 12-0 district record and finished at the top of their district standings. Recording victories over the likes of Bells (10-0, 12-0), Pottsboro (6-5, 10-0), Howe (14-0, 14-2), Bonham (10-0, 11-1), and more, it comes as no surprise that this team has made it so deep into the playoffs-- just one series away from punching their ticket to the state tournament.

In playoffs so far, Gunter has sent Grand Saline (16-3, 11-0), Ponder (1-0), Edgewood (3-0, 1-2, 4-0), and Tatum (9-2) packing; securing their spot in the regional finals. Going up 1-0 in the series against Boyd with a 3-1 victory on Thursday helped highlight the team's ability to continue trucking forward successfully!

What To Expect

Fans should continue to expect excellent play from Gunter. The team showcases a no-doubt mentality with a champion mindset. As they take on Boyd in game two of the series, it can be expected that this team puts forth the effort necessary to complete their mission and head to the state tournament.

REGIONAL FINALS: Stephenville set for Canyon

VYPE DFW takes a look at the program so far:

So Far

Jayden Ferguson, Tyler Hicks, Jadis Clemmer, Kutter Stone, Mason Haynes, Gabe Elms, Haiden Rufloff, Mason Weyers, and other talented athletes have been keys to the success of the Yellowjackets program this season. With a strong start in non-district play, the team downed Midland Christian, Snyder, Gatesville, George West, Iowa Park, West, and more; helping to prepare their talents for their district schedule.

With a 7-5 district record and a second-place finish in their district standings, the Yellowjackets channeled resiliency as they overcame challenges to defeat the likes of Glen Rose, Mineral Wells, Graham, Wichita Falls, and more. Securing their spot in the playoffs helped the team realize that they had an opportunity to continue toward their season's goals, go above and beyond, and achieve great things in the postseason.

Without hesitation, the team took on Big Spring (11-0, 4-2), Burkburnett (3-2, 4-1), Krum (12-0, 3-1), and Seminole (5-1, 4-3) in the playoffs where powerful performances have guided them to success. Showcasing dominance over other incredible programs in the state this season has helped power the Yellowjackets into the regional finals.

What to Expect

Canyon is a tough squad boasting a 27-7-1 (10-4) record this season, but Stephenville has been able to shut down their tough opponents in postseason play without struggle. Fans can expect this team to fight hard and make timely hits in order to try to get ahead early in the regional final series against Canyon.

Be sure you catch this team in action as they make it their mission to punch their ticket to the UIL Baseball State Tournament!

VYPE Coaches Corner: Magnolia West Baseball Coach Travis Earles; Regional Finals Preview
