100.

1944 Willy’s MB. For sale just in time for the 4th of July parades. The old girl runs, drives and stops.
101. Here’s the story. My dad bought this jeep in Alaska about 25 yrs ago. I have been dragging it around with me for nearly 20 yrs now. The guy my dad bought it from said he got it from one of the Aleutian islands where it served as a military jeep.
102. Here are some of the things I remember doing to the jeep. Removed the body and cleaned up the frame as much as possible, new motor mounts, wiring harness, shocks, some springs, brake lines, master cylinder, slave cylinder, outer seals that were easy to reach, windshield, clutch, throw out bearing, and likely other things.
103. The jeep drives down the road, keeps a decent temperature, four wheel high and low work, generator works, though connections likely need cleaning, voltage regulator still works but needs some points cleaned as well. Could use a tune up and a carb cleaning but still works fine. Needs a new battery, but will jump start.
104. It wouldn’t take someone very long to make this a great restoration, but I’ve had more than enough of a chance and something else has always taken priority so I am selling it. My loss could be your win and a great piece of history to own and drive.
105. Comes with a tow bar and tow lights, no need for a trailer
106. Thanks for looking.
118.

There is only one word needed to describe this 1943 Ford GPW: STUNNING!

 119.
This remarkable vehicle surely represents one of the finest WW2 jeeps ever offered for sale in North America. From front to rear, every nut, bolt and washer has received attention. The sublime craftsmanship speaks for itself, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

 120.
The engine bay is a true work of art: Spotless perfection, and (thank goodness!) the jeep retains its exceedingly valuable 6-Volt electronics – something many WW2 jeep aficionados consider absolutely essential. The lively battery is but a year old, while the battery cables themselves are both brand new high-quality factory reproductions. They look wonderful.

 121.
The jeep’s original engine has been replaced at some point in its inspiringly long life. The current motor remains a (visually identical) L134 ‘Go Devil’ motor, but of the later Willys design, featuring the much-welcomed strengthened cylinder head and the upgraded ‘gear driven’ camshaft: this a factory enhancement to supersede the tired, sometimes problematic ‘chain drive’ system. Although the judges of the Pebble Beach concours d’elegance might dock a point for this subtle powertrain upgrade, we feel it represents a perfectly sensible improvement; greatly increasing engine durability, helping to keep this iconic WW2 jeep reliable for many more years to come.

 122.
The engine is newly painted in correct high-gloss Ford GPW grey, the fuel filter too, and brand new parts include the carburettor and fuel pump; distributor cap and rotor; plug wires and spark plugs. The dwell angle has been set to forty-two degrees, the ignition timing a perfect five degrees; these factory settings endowing the engine with ‘sewing machine’ smoothness.

 123.
The five tires of this show-stopper look near unused. The correct ‘pioneer tools’ are present. The rear is equipped with a freshly painted ‘gas’ jerry can. The flanks of the jeep feature a full complement of four period correct GI cargo packs, and two period correct water canteens.

 124.
The jeep also features a bespoke ‘aged timber’ toolbox, designed to fit precisely between the front bumper and the jeep’s iconic grille. This stunning toolbox – a custom commission crafted by famed WW2 historian, jeep restorer, and Formula 1 television celebrity broadcaster Steve Matchett – has had its patina-aged exterior woodwork military stencilled. Painstaking attention to detail, resulting in Hollywood, movie prop perfection. The toolbox stencilling is an emotion driven tribute to the mighty 101st Airborne, E Company, the legendary ‘band of brothers’ during their ‘battle of the bulge’ campaign of December 1944.

 125.
The jeep’s ‘olive drab green’ paintwork looks amazing, and beyond its natural patina there is no discernible rust on the bodywork, tub, fenders, grille, and hood. The inside of the cockpit, frame and underbody, also perfect.

 126.
The hood has been painstakingly stencilled with the period correct ‘olive drab blue’ USA registration numbers, and the essential white ‘D-Day invasion’ star. The rear mounted replica radio mast features a period correct forty-eight star US flag, and the famed Normandy landings insignia of the world renowned 101st Airborne. Moreover, the front and rear bumpers have been correctly stencilled to represent a jeep belonging to the prestigious ‘Easy Company’ of the 101st. All of this, along with the jeep’s front toolbox, make for a thrilling tribute to ‘the greatest generation’.

 127.
The overall visual presentation of this iconic military masterpiece is beyond impressive. This truly stunning WW2 jeep is a genuine piece of American living history; it represents ‘the greatest generation’ in their finest hour.

 128.
Buy with pride. Own with pride. Drive with pride. Enough said.
The post 1943 Ford GPW. 138. The post 1943 GPW. NUMBERS MATCHING. Complete with unopened WW2 parts boxes. Available now from the Steve Matchett ‘private reserve’ collection. first appeared on Willys For Sale - Free Classifieds.

 139.

By our estimation, this incredible WW2 jeep is likely one of the finest military vehicles ever offered for sale in North America, if not the world, and we don’t say this without due cause.

 140.
Keep this in mind, this outstanding 1943 Ford GPW is a NUMBERS MATCHING jeep! After more than eighty years, this is nothing short of staggering, but no less true for that: The jeep’s indelibly stamped serial numbers, both on the engine block and the chassis frame, are precisely the same.

 141.
The engine’s cylinder head also looks original. Certainly it is the correct (war years) casting; most definitely not the later post-war design with the additional cast ribbing. Given the numbers matching status of this jeep, we see no reason to doubt that this is also the original cylinder head as fitted by Ford’s engine mechanics back in 1943.

 142.
We have a file of evidence (both written and photographic) documenting a former restoration of the chassis, tub, axles etc. The documentation includes a newspaper article on the fully rebuilt jeep, and it includes detailed obituaries of the two men responsible for this painstaking, detailed work. All of which only further convinces us of the jeep’s overall standing in the community. Naturally, we can’t guarantee the tub is original – but from how the jeep presents itself, and given the included documentation, we see no reason to doubt it. All of this extensive paperwork will be included with the sale.

 143.
Not everything on this jeep is original, nor in the interests of reliable use, would we wish it. The jeep is equipped with a new (super high quality reproduction) fuel tank, fuel filter and pump. The ignition coil, distributor cap, rotor arm, condenser, points, plug wires and plugs are brand new. The ignition dwell angle has been set to spec’ and the ignition timing has been set to a perfect five degrees. The inlet/exhaust valves have been inspected and adjusted. The valve cover gasket (on the side of the block) is new, and the valve cover itself has been freshly painted in correct Ford GPW grey.
144. The carburettor has been stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and adjusted. The (dash mounted) ignition toggle switch and the (floor mounted) starter switch are both new. The battery/starter cable is new. The six volt battery is just two years old. The exhaust manifold is brand new. The inlet manifold has been refurbished and freshly painted in correct Ford GPW grey. The exhaust system appears all but brand new. The radiator is brand new. The water pump is brand new. The radiator hoses are brand new. The (correctly marked Ford GPW) fan belt is brand new.

 145.
All five tires present as hardly used, and all are mounted on period correct combat rims. We do not believe these to be aftermarket reproductions.

 146.
The frame and tub are rock solid, we have found zero rust whatsoever, and the period correct (shade #33070) olive drab paintwork looks stunning.

 147.
The unit markings on the front and rear bumpers of the jeep are for the mighty 101st Airborne. More specifically, they are for Easy Company, the legendary ‘band of brothers’. The replica radio mast also carries a genuine 48 star US flag, and a reproduction of the D-Day landings insignia of E Company, 101st Airborne.

 148.
And finally – the cherry on the cake – we’re thrilled to tell you of the bespoke storage box mounted atop the front bumper. This is a custom made item, designed to fit perfectly between the front bumper and the jeep’s iconic grille. The careful aging, patina, and military stencilling of this stunning box are true Hollywood movie prop perfection. But, amazingly, this isn’t the real kicker! The near unbelievable majesty of this storage box is all that waits inside.

 149.
Within this stunning wooden box sits an assortment of genuine WW2 parts boxes sealed in Cosmoline. A plethora of unopened packages and parts that could very well have been issued to the troops in the days before the DDay landings in Normandy. To describe these authentic artifacts as wildly thrilling would be a masterstroke of understatement! They make this jeep absolutely unique, a genuine time capsule. And… we will include this bespoke custom storage box, along with its full contents with the sale of the jeep!

 150.
In conclusion, all that we have on offer here represents a truly stunning salute to ‘the greatest generation’ in their finest hour. Please contact us to discuss. We will answer all your questions, supply photographs and videos as needed, but we urge you not to delay. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. When sold, this incredible masterpiece of WW2 engineering will likely never again come up for sale.
The post 1943 GPW. 172.

1962 Willys Jeep for sale. Purchased it from a family friend and always kept in a garage when stored. Great condition, runs and drives(we take it around town a couple times a week), it has a Buick V6 231 with a Ford 4 speed transmission and overdrive +4×4(4 total levers). Paint is still in good condition, pinstriping done by Zeller, small rust spot near left rear tail light as seen in photos. Full soft top/doors and bikini top included. Spare tire with mount, jerry-can mount, front tow bar are all included and is not installed. It needs some TLC, it has a few leaks. It’s been a fun summer toy and we hate to see it go, but it’s time to move onto something else.
184.

I have a very nice 1946 VEC CJ-2A Farm Jeep that is mostly stock and has very little rust. It has the original L134 engine with the 8 patents Carter WO carburetor, the original oil bath air filter, and the original radiator. It is the column shift type with a rear PTO and rear gearbox. The body and frame are very straight and solid, and the Jeep starts well, runs and drives, and stops as it should. The seats have been upholstered over time and the body has been painted. All the lights work, including the aftermarket turn signals, and all the gauges work. The fuel gauge may not be accurate. The top is serviceable, but shows its age. All 5 wheels are 15 inch rims, and the tires hold air and are in fair condition. The spare is a mismatched tire. The dash, VIN plate, and Body tag numbers all match, the engine number is a CJ-2A engine with early numbers, the tailgate number is 7429, and the frame number is 7430. It also has a clean open Iowa title.
The post 1946 VEC CJ-2A Farm Jeep first appeared on Willys For Sale - Free Classifieds.
