(Note: To be fair, I will write an article later about why Macs are better than PCs.)</p><h2>7 Reasons a PC is Better than a Mac:</h2><h2>1. Customisability</h2><p>PCs are infinitely more customizable than Macs. Building your computer is straightforward; choose the necessary parts to suit your needs. There are infinite combinations and choices when it comes to making a PC. If you don’t want to make one, many people will make one <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-to-select-an-appropriate-basic-web-design-that-suits-your-needs/">that suits your needs</a>. Retailers like Dell and HP also offer many PC customization options. Macs, however, are very limited. They often don’t use the latest Hardware for about a year, while PCs already have them. You don’t see any Macs with Core i7’s inside them. <a href="https://pagepapi.com/beauty-at-any-cost-helping-young-women-avoid-this-dangerous-trap/">Any extras you want to add on will cost</a> you a fortune; for example, adding an extra 4GB of RAM will cost you around $800, but if you have a PC, a similar upgrade for 4GB of DDR3 will cost a maximum of $200 but can be had for $150. This makes a PC much more affordable. Hardware and Software Compatibility</h3><p>Many people argue that Macs have enough <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-to-have-fun-and-keep-safe-when-using-peer-to-peer-software/">software to keep</a> them going. The fact is that if you have a PC, you have way more options. You have more choices when it comes to any software or Hardware. Every <a href="https://toptheto.com/google-stakes-its-future-on-a-piece-of-software/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">piece of software</a> compatible with a Mac is consistent with a PC (except for the software made by Apple). PCs have <a href="https://pagepapi.com/ways-to-stop-computer-freezes-and-game-lag/">way more choices when it comes to games</a>, and any game on a PC will run better if you have a newer computer, as the latest Macs have outdated hardware. Mac users will always have to check if the Hardware or <a href="https://pagepapi.com/mistakes-to-avoid-when-buying-accounting-software/">software they buy</a> is compatible with Mac. If you will use Windows for everything, you might buy a PC. Not to mention, all the <a href="https://pagepapi.com/do-i-need-microsoft-office-for-mac/">Office software for Mac</a> is incredibly hard to use and completely illogical. Some basic commands that can easily be found on the Windows <a href="https://toptheto.com/look-back-at-mac-os-xs-history-with-5k-versions-of-all-the-default-wallpapers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">version of Office are complicated to see on a Mac</a>. Full Operating Systems</h2><p>Apple charges its customers for minor updates to its <a href="https://pagepapi.com/android-mobile-operating-system/">Operating Systems</a> (Service Packs). Microsoft gives these out for free and only charges users for a completely new <a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-human-operating-system/">operating system</a>. This will significantly add to the cost of your Mac if you plan to upgrade every time <a href="https://toptheto.com/sorry-but-apple-probably-wont-release-an-iphone-8-7s-or-7s/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apple releases</a> a new version of OS X. The new features given in these updates are pretty insignificant, and none have overhauled the OS. Is it worth the price tag?</p><h2>4. Windows Explorer is Way More Powerful</h2><p>Windows Explorer offers a lot more features than a finder. It provides easy cut-and-paste to move <a href="https://pagepapi.com/share-files-between-windows-phone-8-devices/">files around and offers window</a> resizing from all corners or edges instead of just one. It is much easier to quit a program in <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-to-run-windows-on-a-mac/">Windows than on Mac</a> by simply pressing the X button instead of Command+Q. Apple’s maximize button doesn’t even work properly.</p><h2>5. Support</h2><p>There are much more PC users than Mac users. This makes it easy for anyone with problems to find someone to help them. Many people know a lot about PCs; however, Apple’s community is limited, and there are fewer places to get help. Apple support also has a history of denying a problem exists even if it does. Not to mention, Dell’s and HP’s warranties cost much less than Apple’s Applecare.</p><h2>6. OEM</h2><p>Microsoft offers the OEM version of their <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-an-operating-systems-file-system-works/">operating system</a> for much cheaper than the retail pack. <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/apple-wont-give-us-a-new-mac-pro-so-samsung-is-selling-a-look-a-like/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apple does not sell</a> OEMs. Vista Ultimate used to retail for $799, but at the same time, the OEM cost around $280. This gives system builders much lower <a href="https://pagepapi.com/computers-what-are-they-costing-our-children/">costs than Apple’s computers</a> and is much more customizable when referring to point one.</p><h2>7. Deleting Shortcuts works</h2><p>Apple has a very visual OS, while Windows is more intuitive and logical. For example, you can just hit the delete key when you want to delete desktop shortcuts. When you want to do this on a Mac, drag the icon to the trash can. It has a cool effect, but it is so irritating. When you minimize a program, the menu bar stays there, which becomes annoying when accessing other things, such as Finder. The Mini is a great little device; it has a nice processor, a DVD drive, some hard drive space, and enough ports to plug it into all the necessary equipment. The last thing you need is a big ugly tower case with noisy fans to sit next to your TV and destroy whatever audio fidelity you are trying to enjoy. And the Mac Mini has some sex appeal, too.</p><h2>The iMac</h2><p>The <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/mac-media-center/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iMac is also a good candidate for a Mac Media Center</a>, although its appeal differs slightly from the Mac Mini. In a limited space environment, the iMac can serve a dual purpose. The iMac has everything you need to use as a Mac Media Center.</p><p><img decoding="async" class="shrinkToFit aligncenter" src="https://photos5.appleinsider.com/gallery/40575-78549-13-inch-MacBook-Air-apps-xl.jpg" alt="Mac" width="1143" height="643" title="Mac Media Center 6"></p><h2>The Rest of the Mac Pac</h2><p>The <a href="https://toptheto.com/apples-upgraded-ipad-pro-mac-hits-indian-market-post-gst-today/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mac Pro</a>, iBook, and Mac Book Pro aren’t as versatile as the Mac Mini and iMac but can be used as a Mac Media Center. The 17″ Mac Book Pro would make a nice <a href="https://pagepapi.com/android-mobile-operating-system/">mobile entertainment system</a>, but not a dedicated media center. Using a <a href="https://toptheto.com/apples-10-5-inch-ipad-pro-and-refreshed-mac-lineup-now-available-in-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mac Pro</a> as a Mac Media Center is insane. It’s like using a crowbar to open a can of beans. For the rest of the article, you’ll need some hardware to go with the Mac Media Center; I will use a Mac Mini as an example. I have a Mac Mini and have built a media center with it, so using my first-hand experience will hopefully be a little more accurate than speculating on what is possible if you have x…y…z…You will need some things to get your Mac Mini up and running as a Mac Media Center. Some of these devices are Apple devices, and some are generic devices. Some work well, and some are just a disaster.</p><p>Remotes for your Mac Media Center: The first device you must begin hunting for is a remote. After all, what good is a Mac Media Center without a remote that the family can fight about? The infamous <a href="https://toptheto.com/gst-effect-apple-iphone-ipad-mac-prices-at-all-time-low/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apple remote comes with most Mac</a> minis and iMacs.It’s a small remote, but it works well. It comes in a typical Mac style. It’s tiny, does <a href="https://pagepapi.com/everything-does-not-happen-for-a-reason-biotechnology-creates-changes/">everything</a> you need it to do, and has no fancy features. All in all, it only has six buttons that allow you to control the entire Mac Media Center.</p><p>There are also several generic remotes available. Logitech has many remotes, some working well with Mac and some being PC only. I have a Microsoft keyboard and remote and have been unable to get them going on the Mac. I would advise using the Mac remotely. It is small, and with half a dozen buttons, it is quite easy to use. For instance, my DVD player’s remote has 47 buttons, most of which I have never used, and I don’t have the slightest inclination to find out how they work. You’ll also need a keyboard for your Mac Media Center Edition. Of course, there are those times you need to input some data into the screen, like in iTunes. For instance, you might need to enter your password when purchasing content. It looks like a normal Apple keyboard, yet it has no cables and fits a couple of batteries at the back. This is a must for your media center. It would help if you had a keyboard occasionally, and having to crawl out from under a warm blanket in the middle of winter can spoil the mood. Of course, Logitech and a few others have keyboards that would work just as well. But pairing an Apple Bluetooth keyboard with the built-in Bluetooth in a Mac Mini is easier than making toast.</p><p>Add some storage to your Mac Media Center. If you have ever spoken to anyone about a media center for digital media, the word storage would have popped up several times. This is just a friendly warning when using non-Apple <a href="https://pagepapi.com/cad-cam-software-and-high-speed-machining/">software on an Apple machine</a>, especially when it’s open-source. If you are in the market for a new Mac, some resellers (such as MacMall) often throw in a copy of Parallels Desktop for Mac or VMWare Fusion along with it for free (but you will still need to buy a copy of Windows). Of course, you’ll want to have a decent amount of our RAM installed on your computer since you will be running two <a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-human-operating-system/">operating systems</a> simultaneously.</p><p>This is not as clunky as it may sound. For example, Parallels allows you to switch from a Mac application to a Windows program simply by clicking the appropriate application window. You can even set the software to hide the Windows OS: all you see is the Windows program’s application windows. The windows are resizable, and their icons appear in the Mac OS Dock.</p><p>The Windows taskbar can appear on any edge of the screen, just as when running Windows natively, although you will want to move the Mac OS Dock to a different edge. <a href="https://pagepapi.com/this-thing-we-call-the-internet/">This “Windows as a taskbar only” mode is called</a> “Coherence Mode,” in using it, it’s easy to forget that you’re even running Windows on your Mac. This is said to lead to more aggressive behavior. It’s been linked to attacks that have led to severe injuries and, unfortunately, deaths. I do not argue with this and agree that those under 18 should not <a href="https://pagepapi.com/playing-baby-computer-games/">play violent games</a>. You’ll never stop them, though!</p><p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://aws.wideinfo.org/pagepapi.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/07090145/2029288570_ca44c12525_o-1.jpg" alt="Computer Games" width="1280" height="640" title="Violence in Computer Games 14"></p><p>When I was (a lot!) younger, it was not hard for my friends to lay their hands on a copy of the <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/samsung-indias-latest-film-sapnehuebade-strikes-an-emotional-chord/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">latest 18-rated film</a> offering. Banned films were rarely a problem, too. I’m sure it’s the same for many my age and current pre-teens. I can safely <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/dalai-lama-free-to-travel-to-any-part-of-india-says-bjp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> I was never inclined to reproduce any of those acts shown! I did know kids who went around with knives, mainly to show off. However, they were the ones who didn’t play <a href="https://pagepapi.com/making-a-great-video-game/">video games</a>!</p><p>Because of the complexity of this subject, I decided to do some research, like all good writers. And like all good writers, I wanted evidence to support what I thought I knew! None of my newfound sources could agree on this issue, and I found lots of conflicting evidence. For example, an interesting book was written called “Grand Theft Childhood.” This describes a study of over a thousand children and their games. They concluded that there is indeed a link between violent <a href="https://pagepapi.com/deal-or-no-deal-computer-game/">computer games</a> and aggressive behavior towards others. On the other hand, they also say that not playing these <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-to-interest-your-child-in-educational-computer-games/">games can increase a child’s</a> level of aggression!</p><h4>What’s going on here? Surely it’s one way or the other?</h4><p>When considering this, I wondered if it was just a lack of violent <a href="https://pagepapi.com/play-battleships-game-online-for-free-no-download-required/">games or a lack of playing</a> games altogether. After all, everyone needs to de-stress. Perhaps killing virtual coppers and pedestrians is more stress-busting than a few hours of Zuma for some people? Again, calling upon my experience, I was only allowed a certain amount of <a href="https://pagepapi.com/7-most-and-least-time-consuming-game-genres/">time on games</a> when I was younger. Perhaps it’s the parents’ fault for their lack of <a href="https://pagepapi.com/most-and-least-time-consuming-game-genres/">game time</a> monitoring? Are RockStar and other game studios to blame? Surely, eliminating violence from games will reduce the level of violent crime in the pre-teen demographic? Does anyone seriously believe that?</p><p>There will always be violence; as a species, we’re violent, greedy, and mean. That will not <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-the-playstation-changed-the-game/">change overnight nor with the removal of such games</a>. And unless you’re going to shut down the BBC, hide all the newspapers, and throw out your television, you’ve got no chance of removing violent and disturbing images from a child’s upbringing!</p><p>Maybe we should look into the root of violence. Again, like any good researcher on the project, I typed “causes of violence” into Wikipedia. I found an interesting section about a US organization called the “US National Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence.” There was a fascinating quotation they made in 1969 (40 years ago!) which went like this:</p><p>“Children are inclined to learn from television because it is never too <a href="https://mqacg.com/us-primarily-based-gip-in-talks-to-shop-for-engies-indian-solar-strength-business/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">busy to talk</a> to them, and it never has to brush them aside while it does household chores.”</p><p>The organization was set up in 1968, so it took them one year to conclude. So, should we look again at the parents? Have you seen the movie “Cable Guy” starring Jim Carrey? He plays a cable repair technician who severely lacks social awareness due to watching too much television as a child. Because of this, he doesn’t quite know how to interact with people. Does this mean that parents are sitting their kids down in front of the television rather than teaching them <a href="https://pagepapi.com/eight-life-lessons-harvested-from-the-garden/">life lessons</a> personally? Are they violent in response to a lack of parental concern? I’m afraid I must disagree in good conscience, however much I’d like to. You could quite easily argue that it’s the violent messages on television that encourage violent behavior.</p><p>There may be some truth there, too. Maybe kids can pick up behavioral traits from a <a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-top-5-must-play-rpgs-for-every-video-game-console/">video game; I know my friends, and I do so from films</a>. I’m not talking about violent features specifically here. But then, when parents see them acting out skits from these films, do they panic? Do they question where they’ve learned these bad words or strange phrases? However, the distinction between virtual and reality normally prevents these traits from “spilling over” into daily life. This is where I feel the major problems start. Why some <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/internet-marketing-and-online-marketing-do-people-really-make-money-doing-this/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">people</a> have trouble with this distinction is not my area of expertise. However, we’ve all heard on the news of someone re-enacting a film or game, and it goes wrong. This is normally because one of the participants has taken it far too seriously. In these situations, I cannot help but believe that the individual in question is just plain mental!</p><p>On that note, is it the individual who has a problem? Has the issue had nothing to do with violent <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/digital-games-and-kids-a-different-perspective/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">games but rather that some kids</a> have psychological conditions? I’m sure this is certainly true in some extreme cases. But taking all things psychological and putting games/films aside, what other conditions spark violence?</p><p>It’s widely believed that disagreements are usually the precursor to violent behavior. It’s quite rare that someone thumps someone for no reason. So, the disagreement escalates and reaches a point where dialogue no longer serves a purpose. Sometimes, the reasons for the disagreement can be quite tenuous, and it appears widely considered that <a href="https://pagepapi.com/quality-vs-quantity-in-video-games/">Video games</a> are often used as an excuse in these cases. Would they have attempted to resolve their differences calmly if person A had not played <a href="https://pagepapi.com/quality-vs-quantity-in-video-games/">Video Game</a> C? There doesn’t appear to be any proof that <a href="https://pagepapi.com/quality-vs-quantity-in-video-games/">video games</a> had any influence other than the individual or parents using it as an excuse. There have been studies, of course, but they appear largely non-conclusive.</p><p>You cannot blame violent behavior on <a href="https://pagepapi.com/quality-vs-quantity-in-video-games/">video games</a> alone. They could contribute to some degree in some cases. But then, so can TV, newspapers, and even books. However, the vigor with which some individuals blame <a href="https://pagepapi.com/quality-vs-quantity-in-video-games/">video games</a> is unwarranted. Having been with us for so long, violent behavior is a product of all influences and the environment. There is no single answer.</p><p>Not so much as a speeding ticket here. I’ve played many violent games, and they’ve not affected me. Therefore, I believe anyone blaming games for their behavior is using them as an excuse. This is to save on processor usage.</p><p>Most game physics engines use convex meshes to simulate collisions between objects and calculate raytracing.</p><p>Why? Because using convex meshes allows for much more optimized collision detection than concave meshes and other arbitrary meshes.</p><p>Modern engines are increasingly adding support for other meshes in collision detection, but using convex meshes always remains the fastest method.</p><p>Here is an important difference in plain language. Concave meshes have at least one “dent” or one inward curve. Convex meshes have no inward curves. How do you tell what is concave and what is convex? The simplest method that I recommend is the line test.</p><p>A convex mesh will never let a straight line pass through more than two polygons, no matter where the line is drawn. Using simple convex geometry for collisions is fine for simple 3D things, but sometimes, more complicated 3D objects need finer simulation. […]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our industry is dying. We all know that the so-called “Next Generation” consoles drive our beloved PCs out of the market. I could list the <a href="https://pagepapi.com/everything-does-not-happen-for-a-reason-biotechnology-creates-changes/">reasons why this is happening..</a>.I could even record why it should not be happening, but to those interested in <a href="https://toptheto.com/read-this-before-flipping-the-bird-at-your-computer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reading</a> this, I know you’re already intimately familiar with our predicament. It has crept upon us. Honestly, some great PC games have been released over the past couple of years that have satisfied my gaming needs, but a few days ago, I had a rude awakening into this new world of <a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-top-5-must-play-rpgs-for-every-video-game-console/">“console-only” games</a> that have unleashed a beast inside of me.</p><p>As a side note, I should say that I don’t have any <a href="https://mqacg.com/three-not-unusual-cash-problems-do-you-suffer-from-any-of-them/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">problem</a> with the Xbox360, the PS2, or the Wii other than the fact that they are killing the industry that I love…the industry that I grew up with. Anyways, back to my rude awakening. Many of you have heard about LucasArt’s new title, “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed,” which will be released this fall. Many of you have also heard that it will not be released for the PC. Not now, not ever. Judging from the trailers and new technology that has gone into this game, it looks like it would be addictingly fun and could even be my favorite of the year. However, according to the game producers, the PC <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-this-internet-marketing-tip-turned-my-online-failure-to-success/">market</a> is not stable enough for this title. In other words, there aren’t enough people out there with <a href="https://pagepapi.com/deal-or-no-deal-computer-game/">computers that would be able to handle the game</a>. (Ironically enough, it is being released on the Nintendo DS and the Wii, neither of which are high-performance gaming systems.)</p><p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/images/stellar/prod/210104133055-beginner-gaming-pc.jpg" alt="Computer Gaming" width="800" height="450" title="The Survival of Computer Gaming 18"></p><p>What has happened? I <a href="https://pagepapi.com/eight-head-games-the-narcissist-plays-ping-pong-anyone/">played Star Wars games</a> on the PC for over ten years when the X-Wing series and “Rogue Squadron” were coming out. And now LucasArts won’t even port their <a href="https://toptheto.com/overwatch-doomfist-release-to-include-major-blizzard-skins-drop/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">major release</a> to the PC for their most loyal fans? The situation is bad and is on course to get much worse. After all, this is just one of the many games that have already been excluded from the PC. So, is it time for PC <a href="https://pagepapi.com/is-gaming-becoming-a-sport-in-the-united-states/">gaming to become</a> extinct? Should we relinquish our fully customizable gaming platforms and surrender to the standardized systems that corporate stooges accept? I say NO!!!</p><p>But what will it take to survive in this industry? How can we regain our prowess in the world of <a href="https://pagepapi.com/making-a-great-video-game/">video games</a>? We have to be smart. We can no longer rely on our superior numbers to guarantee acknowledgment and preferential treatment in the biz, so we must rely on our superior brainpower to win this <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/this-29-year-old-pakistani-blogger-is-shutting-up-hate-mongers-and-their-war-cries-online/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">war</a> (That’s right, console fans…I said it…we’re smarter than you). Let’s face it: <a href="https://pagepapi.com/deal-or-no-deal-computer-game/">computer games</a> are generally pretty nerdy…I’m guessing there’s not one of us who couldn’t set up a simple <a href="https://pagepapi.com/6-simple-steps-to-help-mobile-visitors-to-your-website/">website</a> if need be, not one of us who isn’t doing some serious online surfing every day, not one of us who wouldn’t love to work for Tom’s Hardware full-time, and the list goes on. Yes, there are only a few hundred thousand of us, and compared to the millions of console gamers out there, it’s pretty hard for us to get attention these days. But we are all interested in <a href="https://pagepapi.com/deal-or-no-deal-computer-game/">Computer hardware and games</a>, and as a unified community, we could become mighty again. However, it wasn’t always the case! FPS games were once only considered great for their engine and available weapons. However, the Half-Life series and Deus Ex changed all of that. When I look back at my (too many) <a href="https://pagepapi.com/game-of-the-year-watch-2017/">years of gaming</a> experience, all the games I remember had great writing. Well, there’s a reason for this:</p><h2>The badly written ones weren’t worth remembering!</h2><p>I had to go through my loose game disc collection to find the ones I’d forgotten. These include some pretty big-name games, starting with “Black and White” by Lionhead. This is a good example of where they were too <a href="https://pagepapi.com/how-to-interest-your-child-in-educational-computer-games/">interested in the engine and game</a> mechanics to work on a story that engaged the player. There was far too much emphasis on the controls and the belief system used to influence the world, and I felt I was merely watching a <a href="https://toptheto.com/botnet-offered-part-of-gaming-server-rental-scheme/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">game rather than being part</a> of its story.</p><p>Another example of bad storytelling and <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/guide-to-building-a-gaming-computer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">computer game</a> writing, in general, has to be “Doom3”. This has always been one of ID Games’ problems. What does it bring to a game? Let’s start with believable characters with which the player can identify and connect. Or an engaging plot that draws the player in. Or an interesting setting that provokes an emotional response, such as a bustling city or vast, uninhabited wasteland. Although many of these aspects are thought up by the <a href="https://pagepapi.com/basics-of-computer-game-design/">game designers</a>, someone needs to bring the game to life using these features. <a href="https://toptheto.com/microsoft-shopping-for-valve-could-be-a-catastrophe-for-pc-gaming/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Valve has always been a pioneer in computer game</a> writing, having its dedicated writer as a science fiction writer, Mark Laidlaw. He has helped shape Gordon Freeman’s story since the first Half-Life game and keeps the plot and characters interesting. The intrigue brought to these games by his writing keeps fan discussion going for months before and after each release.</p><p>Another well-written game is Deus Ex, which had two dialogue writers! The results were obvious: believable and thoughtful dialogue, interesting characters, and a story so in-depth it makes the <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/indias-own-grand-canyon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grand Canyon</a> look shallow.</p><p>Something else good writing can provide is the different choices a player <a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-top-5-must-play-rpgs-for-every-video-game-console/">must make during a game</a>. In the game Bioshock, you often encounter characters <a href="https://pagepapi.com/little-known-ways-to-increase-profits-for-touring-musicians/">known as “Little</a> Sisters,” who are genetically altered children. Your disturbing choice here is to either restore their DNA to normal or to extract their valuable essence for your means, killing the child in the process! These choices impact the story, influencing your character’s moral compass and the game’s result. But more importantly, it makes the player pause and think about the implications of their actions within the game. In this case, the writer is Ken Levine, also the writer for other favorites of mine, System Shock 2 and Thief: The Dark Project.</p><p>Computer game writing is one of those areas that game developers often overlook. An excellent writer friend of mine has mentioned that the number of outlets for aspiring writers is “vanishingly small,” which made me think. How many independent developers out there have a dedicated writer? When I was developing games, I really should have looked into it; it would have vastly <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/india-needs-to-improve-on-entrepreneurship-quality-of-life/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">improved the quality</a> of my dialogue and helped me tie up loose ends in my story.</p><p>The independent title “Defence Grid: The Awakening” is an example of a fairly standard tower defense <a href="https://graetnewsnetwork.com/top-10-gaming-peripheral-to-improve-your-gaming-skill-in-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">game vastly improved</a> by its writing (and its voice acting) that may have fallen by the wayside otherwise.</p><p><a href="https://pagepapi.com/the-growing-popularity-of-free-casual-games/">Casual game</a> developers, especially, are missing out on this. I’ve played far too many badly written attempts at fitting a story into a hidden object or match-3 game. I’m sure that secret object fans don’t care much, but it would be worth considering if they would like to attract a wider user base.</p><p>Even free games should make an effort in their writing. The wonderful “Cave Story” had a great story with memorable characters, and that’s after its translation from Japanese!</p><p>Good computer game writing does not necessarily mean instant success for any game. Nor does bad writing <a href="https://pagepapi.com/why-does-free-internet-mean-exploitation/">mean</a> instant failure. However, I would argue that the most memorable games are the ones that have the best writing.
