Solving the Battery issue for my 3DS

It´s here it´s finally here! The package I ordered for my brand new battery has arrived.

It actually was faster than I thought. I really thought I was gonna have to wait till november to get it, and that and I might missed it, either having to wait for the delivery guy to come another day or receive a letter in the mail telling me i have to go to he post office to get it.

Nope, the box was small enough it the delivery man was able to put it in the mailbox. Last time I bought a third party battery it came bundle in a much messier and larger package that it needed to be. Because its such a small object

And the battery didn´t last as long so that was the last time i´m ordering anything from them.

The irony that I got a much better result from ordering from Aliexpress instead of Fnac was not lost on me.

it was a bit challenging to unscrew the back cover only to realize I was trying use the wrong screwdriver size. Idiot

So now I´m calibrating and testing out the battery to see how long it lasts, it seems to work well. I do hope people were right about Cameron Sino,

I really do want my 3DS to actually be a portable console instead of something that I gotta plug all the time, and that I can´t leave turned off with the battery fully charge for more than a day.

comments

Portugal on Fire

Imagine just waking up to the smell of burnt wood except there is no fire around. That is how bad the fires here in Portugal have gotten. They been spread several different areas in the country, including in my district. and I can practically smell it here despite it still being far.

Can´t even open a window.

So bad my town was covered in fog-like smog brought by the wind. I saw the sun it looked red under the smoke, plus no chance of me able to even see the lunar eclipse. Shince it got quickly covered by smoky clouds. And guess what color the moon was? Talk about a literal blood moon. Like a bad omen.

Its been two days and i still feel the smell of smoke. My Dad who had to travel to another town for business told me, He saw people going out of their way to wear masks because it was difficult to breath for some..

This is some scary shit.

comments

Hello, is this game working?

I cave in and finally decided to order a new battery for my 3DS XL. The i got to replace the original nintendo one? Yeah turns it doesnt hol a lot of charge and part of me wish i should´ve looked up the specs of this thing between ordering, D'oh!

My first option was the ifixit store, but it was out of stock, and support told me why they did order them they dont the exact date where they get them due to difficulties on the supply chain. So for all i know i could take Months, so that one went down the drain.

For option number two, I did some research and apparently the Cameron Sino ones have been highly recommended when it comes to third party batteries. They even make extended batteries that last ten times longer than the original. the only downside is since the battery is a bit bulkier its requires a specialized backcover (which they provided with the purchase), plus the console will feel a bit heavier
But honestly I don´t need that much millage since I normally just play on the 3ds for an hour or two a day. so I just ordered the regular Spr-003 1800mah one.
Honestly i just want a battery where i can just leave charged and turn off for more than a day and turn back and still have battery left, so this will suffice.

I ordered them although its gonna take a while.

I also finally get to play splatoon online on a emulator without a Wii U on the pretendo servers hurray. Part of me was wondering if I would never be able to play it properly, if i would have to go on the hunt for a used console since you need the actual dumped files to enable online play on Cemu.

Suprise, suprise I found someone renting out their console and providing the files.

He answered all my questions, he even provided a text file with instructions and it worked! It totally worked!

Now I´m on Level 4, and aside from the connection issues (cause let´s face it Pretendo is still a project in progress) its pretty much stable. I even found out you could order clothes from other players! Nice.

I could play only the main story mode, but where´s the fun in that? Competitive Multiplayer is the main attraction. How else am I gonna be able to dress up my avatar?

I know what someone might think about the legality of this. First off Nintendo discontinued the console, and it will be only more expensive and harder to adquire as time moves on. So the whole piracy thing is moot.
And second, i still had to get the original files from an actual console, even if its under an Unorthodox way. Nintendo was never gonna get my money anyway.
And unless they decide to provide a way for us to play older games online, this how things are gonna be.

Do I wish Cemu had a better way to enable online play? Yes, but I understand why, they dont wanna get sued.

Fortunately, people will always find a way.

comments

Cats and Fish

Recently I just saw one of my neighbor out on the street in a bathrobe and slippers of all outfits, leaving a dish of cat food for the local feline community in here. Which may explain why Im always seeing a Siamese cat at our building´s door and approaching people.

So the previous neighbours left with their cat only for said cat to be replaced by... this. ok then.

And speaking of pets I got a bunch of new fish last weekend to replace those that have past away this past year. I got 3 new tetra neons to keep the school full, four guppies (the male one from a more fancy variety) and some 3 platys. They are looking very cute.

Not to mention the town was having a farm fair, i saw not mich besides some huge ass tractors, plants, and animals, which includes those funky chickens ith crazy hairdoos

Since this is how Im gonna end the last official Month of Summer I might as well just go to the Zoo.

comments

Unrestrained Summer fun, some slugs and a flat tire

Almost Got into a car accident the other day, well sort, so here i was on a car ride on the road when we all heard something happening to one of the tires, luckily our designated driver managed to stop safely on the other side of the road.
Had to wait for assistance for like an hour, which was enough time for me to watch an entire Witcher episode on my phone. That being said the guy they sent to change the tire, did it in no time.

I ended up coming back home really late too.

That the only incident I have so far....

Lately, i haven´t´t dedicated my much to my personal websites, I promised I would have transferred my old Wordpress blog to a new host before August but never ended doing so, so I decided to skip Blaugust this. To be fair I´ve been feeling kinda lazy, I honesty prefer just hanging out at the beach, reading my favorite book and just do fuck all this summer until September comes.

I even managed to finish reading the hobbit and just got start on reading a Bertie Wooster and Jeeves books. I actually have an unread of set of them at home for year, making this the perfect time to get into them.

And speaking at the beach, guess what i saw last week? Sea Slugs! Like 7 of them in tidepools, they looked like a bunch of brown algae, not to mention tons and tons of crabs.
There were people around trying to capture them in buckets. One dad with his kids asked if I wanted to see him release the crabs back into the pool, which was cool.

I kid you not as soon as the crabs were the first thing they did was to quickly bury themselves into the sand, which does explain the mystery of why i see dead crab shells no live ones, they are hiding.

Finally, I learned to make gameboy color as gba games work on my 3ds. Now being an older model, the mgba emulator runs terrible in it. But since you can actually run them natively, i ended experimenting with a thing called open_agb.firm which allows me to quickly boot those gameboy advance game kinda quickly. My other option that works just as well is running them from the twilight menu + app, specially the gameboy color ones (its doesnt work with agb firm)

There are some advantages and vantages, like on firm you can bott them faster and when you´re done just turn off the button. On the other hand they are kinda inconvenient when you wanna switch different games. I gotta constantly turn the console off and on again.

I avoid the whole injecting the roms into virtule console, mostly because its an hassle to do this for every single game compared to just loading the roms from your sd card as it is. But they are a bit slower to boot, and the save files are stored in a less convenient place.

You know once i get my gaming review blog up an running again, I might revisit these old games as well check some homebrew ones I found on this site

comments

Finding wild animals in the area that i´ve never seen before

Man this weekend was wild. Last Friday, I saw crows in my local park for the first time, and a wild rabbit. I´ve been visitng this park for years and I´ve never seen one.
They must be really elusive because as soon I saw it jumped quickly into the vegetation to never been seen again. Ver cute, very fluffly with a light brown color.

I must´ve been having a lucky streak because the next day I saw one again in a different place near the beach, not just one but three. There was place in the rocks they were hidding. But this other little fella was in the sand. then suddently it sprinted like the freaking roade runner as if it has a spring on its feet.

I also saw an Occelated lizard, these things are huge compared to the tiny wall lizards. Funny thing it was under this bunch of wooden boards, you know people walk to avoid destroying the sand dunes. There was this foreign guy with a camera looking very focused on the ground, when I got close he got up and smiled at me, I took a peak and there this fella was resting in the sun.

Quickly I took a snapshot before it ran off

comments

A crazy space event just happened last night

Like yoooooo, this was nuts.

Here I was late at night, a little before midnight, just messing around and watching a youtube video about a zoologist review some legos, when suddenly i saw a green bluish flash lighting up the sky outside my window.

It was as if Night turned into day, and there was this rumbling sound. For a moment i though it was lightning. And the seagulls were freaking out, there doing an infernal noise, a large group of them flying in the sky.

Short time after I got news that it was a Meteorite, everyone in Portugal and Spain were losing their minds and there was even videos of it, and memes

According to the Civil Protection it may have Landed in Serra do Montemuro, Castro Daire, Viseu. No one got hurt or anything.

Fun fact, the last meteorite to land in Portugal was in 1998.

To think I was upset for missing out on the aurora borealis because it was really cloudy where I lived last weekend, but at least I got see this.

Also this is how I found out that the color of meteorite when it enters depends on its chemical composition, WILD. From the greenish color it might be made of magnesium, or I might be wrong.

comments

Sexy Ghouls Everywhere

Step Aside Hancock there is a new sexy Fallout Ghoul in this town and his name is Cooper Howard!

So, been watching the new Fallout show, still on episode 3, and I gotta say so far they did a pretty good job of it, we´re truly living in the golden era of great videogame adaptations.

My fave so far is of course the very very, Handsome cowboy ghoul. I dunno what so attractive about him, his accent? His hat? The fact he´s a Dilf?

Whatever it is, he can use me as bait for a giant salamander monster anytime.

I´m equally invested on the Lucy x Ghoul ship, I kinda blame the fanart. God I´m kinda behind on the series behind everyone else (I blame them releasing the show on bingewatch mode instead of releasing it weekly), but i´ve jumped on the Ghoulcy ship.

Besides shipping the Vault Dweller with a Ghoul is a fine Fallout Player tradition!

Speaking of which I caved in and bought Fallout 4 and New Vegas Ultimate Edition on GOG, they were on sale after all. I´m looking foward to try the tale of Two Wastelands Mod.

comments

End of A Gaming Era

Its been two days since Nintendo turned off its 3DS and WiiU servers, and I still haven´t got used to the fact that I no longer can just pop Mario Kart and play online with complete strangers around the world anymore.

Let´s hope that the Pretendo Network gets stuff up and running soon.

I think I spent a lengthy game session just doing Pokemon Wondertrades, then exploring dreamtowns on Animal Crossing as well as Island tours.

But I do regret not having visited other people´s towns in the last day, thought.

At least this discord 3ds server I was in was organizing a MKart Community race as one last hurrah. I would have stayed a bit longer till the servers went offline, but I was kinda tired and had to go to bed.

What I´m really gonna miss the most is visiting the most bizarre and sometimes creepy AC towns, like remember Aika Village?

Well At least they still live in youtube videos. Also this happened in the day of an eclipse, what are the odds? If I had to summ what it felt Like.....

RIP, Nintendo servers you will be missed.

comments

Happy valentine´s

Which would have been what I would say If I cared. Also its kinda funny since it falls almost during Carnaval season so i end up seeing store fronts with both masks and heart.

Speaking of Carnaval this year I didnt bother watching the parades the weather wasn´t great for it.

As for Valentine´s well, I spent it by baking brownies with nuts then shared them with family. The recipe works for they were delicious.

Also been reading some fanfic of my favorite ships, that´s pretty the only reason I look foward to, those fic writers have been working overtime. Idk if I might share my recommendations here. Perhaps in a different entry with an age restriction.

Let´s see I tried to play Animal Crossing on Gamecube, but I have yet to receive a letter, and its has been almost a month since I logged off so another villager left. i cheated a little and tried to experience groundhog day, which is hilarious. its just Resetti, showing up declaring how long will winter will last and yell Scram!

Finally, my new fish seem to get along well. Only one died after a few days, but otherwise everyone is healthy. Not to mention new fish have been born! But i can only see two of them.

As for the algae eater verdict, boy do they do a very good job of removing the algae, my filter and glass was covered in this brownish and green algae, and its now clean. Those fish sure a bunch of miracle workers.

The only fish that is not doing so well, is one of my platys, the second one to be born there. There seems to be an issue with her swimming bladder, since she is now swimming upside down and has trouble to get to the bottom. I´ve quarantined her and tried to feed her some cooked peas and have her fasting.

Could be constipation, could be a bacterial infection, I also ruled out water quality. Let´s hope this works and she gets better.

comments

Just Pet Stuff

Last week I noticed that some older fish have started to die out and I might need to add some new guppies and platys to the ones who were in the tank for two reasons.

One to keep the population genetically healthy, and two, I had more males guppies than females, and more females platys than the male.

I went to my store of choice as usually, its a more local store, but the owners seem to know what they´re doing, to the point i was able to get advice on how to deal with this bloom of algae Ive been dealing with as well as some care tips.

Besides the guppies and platys, I got some extra tetra neons to replace the dead ones, some cool looking rummy nose tetras, and some algae eater fish, who are able to stuck to the glass, a bit similar to plecos but without the whole growing to a large size issue.

The lady that worked there told be to give less food, maybe feed those algae wafer once a week, and less hours with the light turned on. I hope it works.

Also some fun news one of my orchids is flowering again? But way earlier than usual. Just what is going on? Maybe be next to the windows is doing it some good.

One a less positive note, I gotta vent about one of the new neighbors. The last ones were cat owners, so I never had this issue. But this one is a Dog owner and an irresponsible one at that.

I was trying to get enter the building, when my neighbour´s Dog tried to chase me and barked at me, growling showing its teeth. I´ve always felt a bit nervous around dogs and this doesnt help matters.

Even worse the gall of this woman, she had a untied leash on her hand in front of me and tell me to not run it makes things worse?

Lady, you´re the one who has the dog running around, a dog you know very well know has the habit of barking at people and acting in an intimidating manner. But I´m the one who´s has to be careful not to set it off? And she did not bother grabbing the dog by the way and get it to calm down.

And Im not the only one who has complaints, this woman has the habit of letting her pet roam around free in front of the building and shit all over the place, specially near the entrance, to the point that another neighbor accidentally stepped on dog poo.

So, now I gotta enter through the garage instead of the entrance, because i dont know when the dog will be there. And of course nothing is gonna be done about this.

God I hate, irresponsible pet owners, why bother have them at all if not gonna bother to look after them and instead just let them disturb other people.

That woman deserves to have someone scoop that shit and leave it at her doorstep just to see how she likes it.

comments

Visti to Valença

Last weekend went on another trip to spain. Its been several months since I last been.

This area i visited had a small park next to a river, it a game field, playgroundd for the kids and a small cafe closed.
Also lots of cartoon grafitti and murals for some reason:

The fun part is that is has a slide running down a small hill, you could either climb down on foot or simply go down a slide, which as you can guess I could not resist to ride it.

Also there were ducks and geese, tons. A small family was even feeding them

And yes were those geese freaking loud.

Other birds I saw besides well these, were egrets, specially near culture fields and cormorants. No birds of prey though. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of them there in the summer.

Finished the rest of trip by eating lunch next to the river, before making the trip home. I did try these kechup flavored chips, sorta regretted adn wondered why didnt I picked the sourcream onion flavored ones instead.

Such is life.

comments

Gaming with Family

So I introduced my sister the wonders of Piracy of Modern games. I even introduced her to figtgirl as my favorite place to get games. Yes, I pirate them sometimes so sue me, I bought some as well mostly as bundles from humble bundle or itch.io

I was kinda surprised since she wasn´t much of a gamer. I mean she is except she tends to be incredibly pick and prefers to stick to like old windows games on a virtual machine. Games she used to play in our childhoods of she wish she could have access back then.

But she saw a video from her favorite channel about the best cozy videos, liked what she saw and asked for my help to get them.
The ones she wanted? Power Wash Simulator and Dreamlight Valley.

Kinda of shame she didn't asked me for Stardew Valley, as I do have a legitimate copy i bought on gog that I could, and maybe we could go for co-op. Ah well, one of these days.

She went nuts for Power Wash, see she to clean and organize things, and found game relaxing. It gets 5 stars from her.
As for Dreamligth, Its understandable as she is a big Disney fan, and she grew up pretty playing Disney Interactive Games, having a chill games where she can hang with faves also appealing.

This was also the reason why I was kinda disappointed that I was no longer going to be free to play. it would´ve been the perfect game for both to play. Me for the animal crossing style gameplay and her the whole cuteness.

Still we kinda played together anyway? I sat next to her and help her create a character. When I said she isnt much of a gamer, she really isn´t, as she it not all that familiar with most modern games.
So I helped guide her through the first quests, dig and find some stuff. I guess in a way we kinda did play the game together.

Now, I know why they introduced Co-op in Animal crossing, it was kinda fun.
Silver lining I find out that in Multiplayer it isn´t a co-op mode but more of a your friend can visit you trade items and show, but you cant do any missions during online so no help from your friends.

At this point in the game we finally found all the magic tools, helped goofy and mickey, got a level both the regular and friendship meters, and we are still trying to finish Opening Scrooge McDcuk store and opening the Castle.

It will be a while before she picks up the game again, but she told she was gonna invited me to play with her again one these days, as something we could do together.

Oh god, now that I have tried the game I wanna continue, i mean I guess I could just install on my pc and create my own character. Maybe I might give her some tips once I figured this out.

comments

Wasting time with Virtual Machines

Here i am yet again messing around with virtual machines just to see if i can get some Windows 98 games working.

Well it was disaster, first i installed, get a huge headache since it would install properly, so I go and hunt for a patch, it works, then i try to install some drivers, specially scitech.

Scitech makes windows stop working, doesnt work well on Virtualbox. So i give up try to use Pcem instead. It works but it stutters so much.

Also Virtualbox and VMare are crap when it comes to virtualize 3ds capabilities. Virtualbox used to but then removed that feature in future updates.

I was about to give up and hope that gog or even the PC Collection Chamber Blog might have the titles i want for quick installation, but lo and behold a kind show has already created a pre-installation of Windows 98 for PCEM on the Internet Archive

It stutters a bit, but nearly as bad when I tried to install myself, I mean it kinda depends on the game, I went through the list of tested games tried one and it works fine.

I guess I could try 86box as someone else suggested since its a more uddapted fork for PCEM, but I dunno.
Maybe when I have more motivation.

As for my foray into Linux, i feel its going to be short lived well for now, maybe I´ll try again once Windows 10 stops getting free updates cause there is now way Im paying for their program. And I dont even like windows 11.
I guess the reason why I hesitate to make the leap is because its because I have no guaranty which games will work perfectly.
I know there´s wine and proton, and they have console emulator. But when it comes to pirated and cracked games? that is a bit harder.

Also even if it legit they might even work. I tried Portal through steam and it wont launch, or maybe Im doing it wrong.
Who knows a lot could change in a year maybe things will improve and I´ll stop being such a noob by then.

Another reason while my adventure in Linux have been abandoned is that the old laptop where I installed Linux Mint to give a new Life? Stopped working. It wont turn on.

At first I thought it was because the installation, but turns out it was still like this even when it was a mostly windows laptop, so I can either blame the battery, or the fact that its really really old (it was bought in 2010).

You know what they say, Linux is only free if you dont value your time, I guess the same thing can be said with Windows emulation

comments

Its 2024 Already so Happy New Year!

Well another year has passed by its time for some reflection.
Well I got say I haven´t exactly managed to complete my resolutions but that is life for ya.

How I spent my last day of the year was funny mind you, I spend it trying to install Linux, yes Linux (Mint) on this very old laptop i had laying around. Well notebook actually. It did serve me well worked enough for my college essays and maybe some light gaming.
I was actually inspired by the news that since windows 10 is about to no longer have support and therefore making a lot of still working pcs obsolete since they cant run windows 11.

Rather than get rid of it I decided to give it a new lease in life, installing it was easier than I thought, and thanks to applications like lutris i can run some gog games there, i even managed to run Stardew Valley in it which is very light on old pcs.

However, I havent tested it out if will run pirated/cracked games, It is possible, but I hear there´s a specific way to install it otherwise it wont work.

The rest of the day was uneventful, I did open up and played a session of Animal Crossing, where there was a New Years event and funny enough used it as a Countdown timer in the background, while I was watching gremlins, which by the way the moment they all start eating at midnight starts around the 40 minutes mark, just for the funsies).

And now for the fun part what did I do this year?

Learned to Cook

Learned How to Configure Linux at the last Minute

Finally Finished All the Library Layouts for My Site

Started Reading a book series (Vampire Hunter D and Discworld)

Took a break from photography ( I have too many photos I have yet to organize)

Learned to acess a BBS (Bulleting Board system) using Syncterm

Started using social media less and less, I think Ive been in hiatus from spacehey, left most of tumblr posts on queue, and even thought i still have a twitter account ( mostly for fanart and to keep in touch with some friends) it feels like its getting stupid by the minute, i can barely scroll it except for a few minutes a day if at all.

Haven´t written a Game review for my blog in a while

Kept a bullet journal

Wanted to learn how to do a solo RPG, but havent gotten around to starting a game session yet

Dealing with some weird and fucked up personal stuff which I will not share the details of.

Finally got around watching the 98 anime version of Trigun.
Christmas has Come and Gone

Honestly, Im not much for celebrating Christmas all that much, mostly because it has not been a very pleasant affair for me this past couple for years, and a lot of Christmas song kinda annoy the heck out of me. Not gonna got into detail But let´s just say this year has been awful than usual.
Sure, I might change my site to a more festive theme for the fun of it, and maybe see the city lights but that´s about it
The closest thing I have to celebrate it if you can call that is enjoying some festive media I guess?

And after that starts what I´m calling the liminal time holiday, the couples of day before new years Eve where nothing much happens and is the perfect time just do fuck all. This is the best time of year in my opinion, not a lot of pressure to do festivites with family members you dont care about, no stress.

Anyway enough about that here´s my personal list of Holiday Media I´ve watched this season:

Movies/TV Shows:

Marvel´s What if (I swear the Christmas Episode is straight out of the Avenger´s Tower tumblr fanfic era, love it)

Anna and The Apocalypse (It´s a christmas Musical but with zombie, it does end on a depressing not though)

Gremlins (I mean its a Classic)

That One Community Episode ( actually i saw it on December the 10th, because the joke is funnier that way)

The Hogfather (Kinda slow paced, but still I have a thing with movies where a skeleton plays Santa)

South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut (not exactly a christmas movie, but its kinda snowy, has a bunch memorable songs and funny moments, however some jokes have not aged well)

Batman Returns ( Imean it is set during Christmas, and Danny Devito is on this one, ironically its even funnier than I remembered for such a dark movie)

Merry Little Batman (another Batman christmas movie but this one is a lot cheerful and mroe kid friendly, Damian is the main character, also I swear I was getting Batjoke vibes in the end.)

Games:

Bully: Scholarship Edition (well it has an entire chapter set during Winter, you can start snowfights! As well a bunch of christmas themed missions and outfits, I had fun just causing mayhem)

Animal Crossing (Both Gamecube and New leaf (the town is now covered in snow, trees have lights and there´s toyday with jingle, althought i think I had a lot more fun with the version from new Leaf because I get to dress up as Santa and give present to all the villagers)

Banzo Kazoie: How The Grunch stole Christmas Rom Hack (I had less fun with it maybe cause Im not that good with platformers, of course the music was kinda irritating me for a while)

Books:

An Eldery Lady Must Not Be Crossed by Helene Tursten (its actually a sequel to An Eldery Lady is up to no good, you know those detective stories where you have a sweet old lady solves crimes? this is the reverse. Maud is an 88 year old who takes shit from no one and has no problem in commiting a little crime. Set during Christmas, it explores her past with a lot of dark humour in there, bonus it comes with a recipe for cookies)

So yeah, 2023 has its days counted.

While we wait here´s some funny videos:

<lj-embed id="">

comments

Holiday Season is here, time for some games

I am very much aware i barely touched this journal in November, but hey december has arrived, might as well say something.

First off a new life update, my Neighbours have moved out two weekends ago, which means I will have to say goodbye to this cute fella that i mentioned on a previous entry. Goodbye Minnie you will be Missed.

Other than that, nothing much has happened in November, aside from the fact that I´ve been neglecting my gaming wordpress blog a bit. I initially planned in posting my Coffin of Andy and Leyley review, but again, writer´s block, not even the 4thewords site didnt help.

So instead I gained an obsession in trying to install windows 98 on a virtual machine, Again, in order to play some old 90s games.

I think PCem seems to work more or less fine except in some games the sound stutters, while others dont have this issue. Honestly I got tired of it and decided to just go to good ol,PC Collection Chamber for my retro gaming needs and i can just install them like a regular modern game, Yeah I know, there´s GOG who is a more of a legit way, but some game are missing.

And how else am I gonna play the discworld adventure games?

Yes you heard me right Discworld Games, but as a point and click adventure games, with the wizard Rincewind voiced by Eric idle, and has the typical humour and writting style in the books.

Currently playing the second game, even thought I never finished the first one. I think my issue was with the puzzles. You know how 90s puzzle solving games are. I know its cheating but I had to use a walkthrough otherwise it would be impossible.

So plot of the second game, Death is missing, Rincewind has to find him or otherwise the world will be stuff with a bunch of dead people running around for eternity.

I finished the first chapter and much to my amusement, turns out Death just decided to skip out on work and is Just chilling:

And Rincewind has to go get him to get off his ass and do his job.

Ironically on the day I was playing this i got news after that Henry Kissinger just died, and he was 100 years old. I guess that is a bit funny in hindsight.

Now, let´s see if I can finish the game this time around.

comments

Happy Halloween!

Another year another Halloween, am I right?

Sadly I did not wear a costume, again Halloween is more seen as an american Holiday. Did see a lot of kids going to school in costume though.

I mostly spent it watching movies an dplaying spooky games. I´ve also finished writing the conten for my Pokemon Halloween Page.

Finished the text now I need to the graphics. I was going to to post it on Halloween, but sadly I was too busy so Im probably gonna end up uploading it off season.

This year for my website I decided to do something smaller, I know last year I did an entire Halloween page for the Yesterweb Trick or Treat Project, ( well before that community imploded in a bad way.) Also the video game section of my Monsters Libary Page was due to have an entry.

As for my anual consumption of spooky media here´s what I´ve got so far

Movies

The Chucky as well as the Child Play Series (not very scary but i find the concept of a serial killer as a doll hilarious

The Evil Dead Triology (this one is wildd, imagine it starting off as more traditional horror, only to end as a Isekai)

The first Friday the 13th (I did not expect the ending, i thought jason was gonna play a much bigger roll, and I watched it on a actual Friday the 13th

Creepshow (Stephen King is on this Movie

The Halloween Tree ( a classic Halloween cartoon special, I was more on this one for the spooky visuals, it has its charms.

Castlevania Nocturne (i was actually excited for this one, I loved Orlox and I excited we´re getting to see Alucard again!)

Halloween With Addams Family (oldschool but cute, the family ends up scaring a bunch of crooks by accident)

House Of Villains (A house of mouse halloween special, I always loved this show, specially when you have like Chernabog and Maleficent, together? I ship it)

Games

Ooblets, ( They finnally arrived on steam, its a cute farming sim that mixes Monster collection elements. They have their own Halloween event with exculsive furnite and ooblets to colect)

Animal Crossing GameCube (Jack is in town, and I had to avoid the villagers if wanna give candy to get furniture)

Pumpkin Jack (Need I say more, it screams Halloween, and plays like Medevil)

Stubs the Zombie (Its an overtope horror comedy where you play as the Zombie! It also makes fun of old movies and 50s culture)

The Ghost Master (Control your own crew of Ghosts, scare people)

Grim Fandago (oldie but a goodie. A point and click adventure game where you´re in the after life)

Graveyard Keeper (maintain a graveyard, sell people corpse meat if you dare)

FreeSO (A revival of the Sims online game, player have went all out and decorated their plots also you gotta expel Zombies)

I do wish I had more time to do seasonal stuff, but some reason this Month I ahd other stuff on my Mind, I´m think of extending it toward November, at least ot stave that weird Christmas creep that shows too early. There decorations in octorber. October.

So i might put my recomendations here. There so mnay pther horror movies I havent gotten around to watch after all.

Anyway Happy Halloween.

comments

Fall Has Arrived

Fall weather sure took its sweet time, so much I managed to get a few extra beach days in. But now we´re dealing a bunch of stormy days.

So, recently my dad had to go the hospital for surgery, he´s now back home (not that this doesnt make him any less grumpier than usual). and I´ve been watching a couple of horror movies to celebrate halloween month.

Mostly Evil Dead and the Child´s Play series, which i think fall more the comedic side of horror. I´m also close to finish watching Castlevania Nocturned.
I was pleasantly suprised how Orlox´s story went as character, it was interesting, I like the idea that even vampires have differents values among themselves. It can kind of boring to see them all be chaotic evil, so.

I´m also currently trying to see If I can at least code a single halloween page for my site. i already did the trick-or-treat websurf thing last year, well before I became disenchanted with the Yesterweb community. So might as well do something else.

I´m also thinking of checking out a certain horror RPG that is making waves lately, called the Coffin of Andy and Leyley where the main characters are a pair of murderous siblings. I might write a review for my gaming blog once I´m done with it. i heard good things about it.

Been to bluesky for a few days, things seem ok i guess, however there´s been an issue where bots would simply grab codes that people were openly sharing online , result less than stellar acounts on there. Seriously people just share your codes in DMs or with a online friend you trust.
While I guess you could consider it a bit of a improvement over the other blue site, it still has a few kinks to go trought.

Speaking of the other blue site, The Amazing Muskrat wants people to play in order to post, like that is gonna end well.

And speaking of which, I saw a bunch of online mutuals of mine dealing with harrassment from non other than bogleech both on tumblr and twitter ( he´s send death threats again?) I remember mentioning how heartbroken I was at his actions last year. How come someone is a horror artists be playing as the fiction police. Honestly the dude has been throwing a tantrum over fandom discourse for days. Days! This dude has no life I tell ya.
And people finally found out about the riské fanart he shared lol. I knew he had some skeletons in his closet, yet thinks he is above is own standards. It is unfortunate, that he is still kind of a popular tumblr blogger there, even I´ve blacklisted his name his posts are still shared everywhere, and you gonna deal with his unhinged fans that will send you suicide bait if you so much as critize him. And he turns to be a huge transpbhobe too. Yikes.

As "in i´ll be erasing the queer identidies of people who disagree with me", type of transphobe. And to think he is a grown ass man who is married to a non-binary person.
So he should know better.

At least that gooseworxs person seem to have a good head on their shoulders, I´ve watch the new Amazing Digital Circus Pilot. It seem fun and wacky, but with a dark undertone.

However I´m scared to go into the fandom, because I know the kind of people its gonna attract. Some have even started drama over harrassing one of the voice actors and I think I just stick to watching the show, and ocassionaly reblog fanart from online friend s they draw about it.

still I try to think on the positive and focus and the fun character designs.

Yeah that is about it from own necks in the woods on the internet for today. I guess I´ll be positing again I a couple of weeks, or whene ver I feel like it.

comments

The Start of Fall

Technically fall has started, but it still like summer, so much so i still managed to go to the beach this week, even though the sea was too agitated to go for a swim. Perks of living in a coastal area I guess.

So how are things going on in my life lately. Let´s see I decided to get off my ass and start learning how to cook properly. I realize at this point it my life, it feels embarrassing not to know.

Its actually been that way for most of my life I feel like I'm a slow learner when it comes to basic life skils, and playing catch only learning stuff that people have already figured it out at certain life stages. I know I shouldn't be hard at myself, but its something that i have hard time admitting to other people.

Also another person in my family fell sick, my Dad, however its not related to our illness, but something to do with his digestive system going out of wack. he went to the Doctor and is now taking some meds so he should be fine.

That is for my daily musings on for the other stuff.

I finally finished playing Lux Pain, this after a decade to giving up half way, it ended too early though. Turns out I got the regular ending .The true ending has at least two more chapters to go through. I´m gonna see if I can try again one of these days, specially since it has a game plus mod after you complete it for the first time.

During the weekend I may have played Breath of the Wild on an PC Emulator for 6 hours straight, Finally found the first shrines and got out of that goddamn plateau, and this after three Months of procrastinating. I unlocked the bomb rune, and now i´m having way too much fun throwing at enemies.

One thing i like to do is find a hill near an enemy camp, throw the bomb, detonate it, then rise and repeat till all are dead. And I don´t even need to waste my weapons on them.

To end this entry, I sorta caved in and finally joined bluesky out of curiosity, courtesy of an only mutual who just happened to have an invite. I know I did point out somewhere here that I was getting tired of making all this socmed accounts, trying to find better alternatives or trying to keep in contact with everyone from friends to fave artists.
And how I was content with just using mastodon, as the twitter alternative.

Not to mention by initial skepticism or distrust of how bluesky is going to be handled. I guess I can say so far my experience has not been negative, well for now, and it might be due to the whole waitlist to get there and the lack of a central algorithm.

But time will tell if the vibe will remain the same once it gets out of beta and becomes open to the wilder public.

I might talk about this site in a future post once I get the hang of it. So for now I´m just enjoying the vibes.

comments

September is here once again

September is here and with it people are coming back to work/school while other are finally using this as their vacation month after a couple of busy summer months.
Its also that weird month where you feel like its supposed to be fall, but its summer.

As for me I feel like I have done fuck all and it feels like I´m still recovering from being sick. As in it killed my motivation. that being said its not all bad.

So i fixed my 3DS but noticed the battery isn´t lasting a long as I wanted it too. Like I´d play for like an hour and then the battery would drain, and I could only play with the charger plugged which defeats the purpose of it being a mobile device.

Turns out I probably have to calibrate it by charging and lets it drain a couple of times, since its a thing that happens with newly installed batteries. Still its not as long as i wanted it to be. But i dont trust most of the other selllers. And I´m only just finding out that the battery used for a nintenndo switch controller is compatible with the 3ds. Same one. If only I knew that before buying. Ah well. i probably also dont see myself bringing the 3ds outside that often.

Managed to install a couples of games. Ones I wanted to play but didnt have the money since most of it was going towards my college education at the time. I realized ironically I´ve turned my phone into an emulator/retro gaming device. It could even play pokemon moon. But i still prefer the official hardware.

I´ve got the taiko drum games, yokai watch, rythm heaven megamix, world ends with you, I even installed a bunch of educational language learning games. I´ve been wanting a refresher on french. May this might be useful.

But my favorite game I´m having a blast with is Lux Pain. I was really found of it ever since I played it on the computer. But never got to finish it, specially with how clumsly the scribbling minigames sections were with a mouse.

Its one of the most interesting visual novel games I´ve played. I think it being a psychological horror mystery, helps. I also love some of the small things, like the online forums you get to read everytime you visit the internet cafe. Its really a product of its time.

I might do a more throughout review once I finish playing it. It´s a shame its an obscure game. If there is a game that would make for a decent anime adaptation is this one.

Also after postponing I finally started reading on Witch Hat Atelier, and I. LOVE. IT. I love the art, the world building, the magic system (which resembles the same system used in the owl house, was the creator of the show inspired by this?) then again sigil magic has been a trope in a lot of fantasy sotries. i think its how that tropes is applied here that makes it unique.

I lovedhow they aproach some of the themes, it does serve as bit of commentary on unjust systems. The whole turns out that you need to be born with powers to be a witch is a lie, and anyone can do it if they have the knowledge and the tools, which makes for an iinteresting twist.

But then it poses a question about who should it be allowed acess, and what happens it if gets misused. Since magic can be both used to help and destroy. But on the other side of the coin it shows how the strictness of this gatekeeping can hurt people, specially those who need magic the most. Like some one with disabilities, or how unforgiving the magic authorities are if someone so much as makes a tiny slip up, even a child.

Not to mention how it fails victims of magic misuse. its one of those morally ambiguous stories that dont have a clear cut answer and i wanna see where this story is gonna go next.

comments

Feeling Better

Well shit, I got sick as well. I ended spending the week just resting and eating hot soup. Fortunently we´re all feeling a bit better now.

But still I had to put my blaugust posts on hold, and I still don´t feel up to it. Not to mention how it sucks getting sick in the summer.

The good news I finally got my battery and got my 3DS working again, which is grea, I get to my Nintendogs and my old Animal Crossing Town, and I can finally start working on Modding it. Althought I will only do it once I recover completly.

In the meantime I´ve been doing some bingewatching. Just started watching Ragnarok whose just aired its third season! I´ve only watch two so far, really enjoying the weird family dynamic between Laurits and is weird giant tapeworm son. I plan on enjoying this one a bit slowy, wanna make it last.

But the show I´ve recently got obessed with is the Harley Quinn series. This has actually been on my backlog, since I only watched season 1 and three episodes for season 3. As far as an adult show with queer characters go and deals with super villains, it was fun.

I certainlty did not count on the Joker as a family man I´ll give them that, and how they dealt with Ivy´s and Harley´s relationship. And oh boy do i love me some messy romances.

comments

Still with Problems, But there´s good news

Yeah, family members still sick. My sisters says she´s feeling a bit better, but I have to keep insisting her to go to bed and rest. Not to mention the weather isn´t great these past days. It´s been windy.

And also my blog feed to my neocities site is still not working. I´ve contacted support but I´m waiting for an answers. Did I mess up the tags again?

That´s the negative part going on my life now for the happier part.

Good news, the new battery I ordered for my 3ds is well on its way, I got a phone call confirming my adress and I should get it on Monday baby!
God I hope this will finally get the console working, I suspect its the battery that went caput.

See I plan on try and hack the 3ds throught this guide. Ever since I´ve heard how easy it is to do I´been wanting to do it, since I wanna try some homebrew stuff, and also since the official eshop is now closed I feel it´s only morally correct to pirate those games for archival purposes. Also I´ve seen some nice user made fan wallpaper, I wanna do so much more with my 3ds.

You can even emulate older consoles imagine that.

I also just received a bunch of premanent markers for drawing purposes. I´ve been delaying practicing my art skills, so myabe this might be the thing to motivate me to do so.

comments
