I was going through my closet the other day, putting together looks and arranging everything with all of my new fall and winter items. Switching out summer and bright colors for fall textures and tones makes me all kinds of giddy. Anyways, I was totally inspired by my Cynthia Rowley drop waist dress hanging beside my leather jacket and immediately wanted to try it on with my new Stuart Weitzman lowland suede boots. This Cynthia Rowley dress has proven to me that there are classic pieces (wether you splurge on them or not) that will always be relevant in your wardrobe. Unfortunately, it's not available anymore :( But, I did find a fabulous Kate Spade dress that is very similar, and would also serve as that statement piece you can wear time and time again! I was pretty pumped about the outcome and had to share this look with all of you. I hope it will inspire an outfit or two for you in the coming months! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful day!

A solid riding jacket should be in every motorcycle rider’s arsenal. No matter what riding style you prefer, a quality jacket will be a great tool to help you ride through whatever obstacles the road or Mother Nature decides to throw your way. Choosing the right jacket can be a difficult decision with multiple fabrics, designs, ventilation, storage options and features to pick from. Luckily there are a few determining factors that can quickly lead you in the right direction. First, let’s take a look at what types of jackets are out there. Virtually all jackets will fall into one of these categories: The most popular style is the always-classic leather jacket. Whether you ride a Harley, some sort of V-twin, or a sportbike at the track, leather will never be phased out. The most versatile jackets on the market are undoubtedly textile construction. Super light weigh mesh jackets will free you of the summer heat, while rain and wind proof jackets can keep your season lasting longer. If you venture off the pavement, you’ll need a jacket that is durable and tough enough to take on the dirt, trees, rocks, and nature’s other elements. If you’re truly die hard, and weather doesn’t deter you (or it simply isn’t warm where you live), there are great options that help combat rain and cold temperatures. What Are The Advantages Of A Leather Jacket We’ll start with leather, because it’s the original, tried and true jacket. The most important reason leather is still widely used is it’s durability and abrasion resistance. As you might expect, leather is tough, and traditionally does best job holding up against pavement. However, today’s cuts are a tad more advanced than what Pete Fonda wore in Easy Rider. With better features and fit, modern leather jackets are an even more appealing option. Most people start at “cut” or “fit” when deciding on a leather jacket. The two different cuts you’ll see are American and European (American being roomier and taller, and European being slimmer) Using the size charts on each product page, you’ll be able to see what each manufacturer takes into consideration for size, which you can compare. As you might suspect, Italian brands like Dainese and Alpinestars fit very European, verses American brands like Icon and Speed & Strength which are (you guessed it) mostly American fit.

Bryan Harley | October 26, 2015 I’m a sucker for leather. Love the feel, love the smell. It gives me confidence it’ll keep skin on my bones when I ride and is my material of choice for motorcycle jackets. Bonus points if it’s black. The smartly-styled AGV Sport Tracer Leather Jacket met the list of criteria I like most in a riding jacket, so I’ve been putting it to the test during the summer riding season. Made of 1.2mm premium grade buffalo leather that’s smooth to the touch, the pliable leather has allowed for full range of movement in the arms since the first day. Sizing of the jacket runs a little small though because the AGV Sport Element Vintage Jacket I tested before in 2XL fit perfectly while the 2XL Sport Tracer Leather Jacket is tight in the shoulders. At a thickness of 1.2mm, the leather feels a little thin compared to other jackets I’ve worn. The AGV Sport Tracer Leather Jacket has the full complement of protective armor. The 10mm-thick memory foam back pad is nice and big, covering from the between the shoulder blades to just above the waistline. The jacket also has CE-approved shoulder and elbow pads. All of the pads reside in pockets stitched into the permanent jacket liner that does a good job of keeping them in place yet are easily removable. The jacket has four pockets, three exterior and one interior. The two front pockets are barely hand-deep and the breast pocket is just the right size and depth to slip my smart phone into. While space to stuff things in is minimum, at least all three zip up. The one interior pocket stitched into the liner is deeper and more useful than the front pockets. The liner it is stitched into is permanent and features micro mesh lining in the body area and silk lining in the sleeves. There’s also a comfortable quilted vest liner that zips out. Buckle loops with Velcro straps on each side offer a little adjustability to fit just above the waist. The sleeves cinch tight via a combination of snaps and small zippers. The collar also has a snap and an extra layer of padded neoprene for comfort. The jacket has no vents though and could benefit from a bit more air flow on hot summer days. If you unzip the sleeves and wear shorty gloves you can at least get some air circulating up the sleeves. The AGV Sport Tracer Leather Jacket has stood up to daily wear, the multi-stitched main seams and single stitching everywhere else showing no signs of fraying. The leather is weathering nicely and is just beginning to crease at the elbow joints and under the shoulders, worn but not worn-out. At $279, the AGV Sport Tracer Leather Jacket provides a level of quality comparable to riding jackets that cost almost twice as much. Styling is attractive, stitching is solid, and it comes with full armor. Pocket space is limited, as is ventilation, but the supple buffalo leather is durable and the jacket is manufactured well enough to easily last a few riding seasons so you’ll get your money’s worth.

For the creators behind women’s motorcycle apparel brand Atwyld, starting a clothing line means going the mile. Co-founder Anya Violet laughs when she thinks about the 2, 000-some miles of “test adventures” she rode on her bike to test the garments, from the brand’s leather jacket to leather moto jeans. After a pre-sale which started in July, Atwyld began delivering its technical apparel line this month and aims to bring comfort, style and safety to its customers. Created by Violet, Corinne Lan Franco and Jaime Dempsey, the brand’s name represents “the single moment that exists between fear and thrill.” The CONVOY ARMORED SHIRT provides another level of ride protection, offering confidence while on the bike, $175, atwyld.com (Photo: Jeff Stockwell) “[It’s] something that all motorcyclists really have felt, ” Violet says. “That kind of wild feeling where you’re really pushing yourself, and you’re kind of on the edge of your comfort zone.” For Atwyld’s first collection, “Into the Void, ” the inspiration was twofold. One was to provide gear specifically for women. Another was to appeal to the new female rider, a group Violet describes as diverse, riding not just one type of bike style. SHRED MOTO JEANS provide comfort and protection during long rides and also feature removable armor, $389, atwyld.com (Photo: Jeff Stockwell) “There are brands that target female motorcyclists, but what we feel like they’re not doing is targeting that versatility to be able to look good, feel good and perform on and off the bike, ” Violet says. The brand houses the technical apparel line and a lifestyle clothing line – both are sewn and manufactured in downtown Los Angeles – with pieces that are not your grandfather’s bulky leather riding suit. While a racing suit works for the ride, it doesn’t work for drinks with friends; on the other hand, wearing non-protective clothing can be a safety issue. The ALLTIME MOTO JACKET transitions from technical bike gear to fashion statement piece effortlessly, $650, atwyld.com (Photo: Jeff Stockwell) Violet says it was important to make sure Atwyld’s clothing was not only safe but clean, comfortable and durable, as well as have proper fit. When focusing on pants, Violet says stretch was a first priority for the denim. Many women ride their bikes in skinny jeans, so the Atwyld pants – which range from a Kevlar-lined denim pant, leather legging, and leather and denim Kevlar-lined pant with removable armor – replicate a similar leg.

I haven’t seen it relisted, nor have I seen it show up anywhere else, so I guess the sale was legitimate. No doubt the Peters label is super rare. In fact, I can’t remember one popping up on eBay anytime in the last several years. It was first offered up on eBay as a Buy It Now or Best Offer (BINOBO) for $8, 500 and the offer price that was finally taken was near the 8 stacks price of $7, 700… ! That Art Deco Talon zipper is gorgeous and it looks like all the o-pull rings even exist! Just missing the leather laces for the sides. If anyone knows where this jacket went, please let me know. I’d like some better photos of it. ..and maybe to try it on. Here are the details: Sale price: $7700 offer.

Many new riders contact us looking for advice about what to buy for their first motorcycle jacket. There are many options in leather and textiles. The motorcycle jacket needs to provide both protection and comfort, and it should look good. After all, why do we take up riding motorcycles in the first place? Don't forget to also protect your legs and butt. In a low-side fall, your knees, hips and butt will be the first part of your body to grind on the pavement. You're going to need protective pants, too. The primary function of your motorcycle gear is protection in a crash. Make sure that it is tough and has padding in vulnerable areas like the shoulders, elbows and knees. Without a doubt, leather will offer the best protection in a crash. Leather has the best abrasion resistance and is the least likely to tear when it hits the pavement. This is why racetracks require leather suits for recreational track-day events as well as for racing. Leather is also very durable and might last longer than you do so, you should pick out something that you won't get tired of after a couple of years. One of my first leather motorcycle jackets, which I bought nearly 25 years ago, got a bit snug around the middle but, was otherwise in excellent condition. This happens to a lot of guys my age. I handed it down to my 18 year old son and his friends admire it for the "classic" that it is! I'm glad now that I didn't jump on the red Michael Jackson "Thriller" jacket that was also available at the time. As for weather protection, leather is great for most of the spring, summer, and fall, which is when people ride the most. While it's true that leather can get a bit warm in the summer, the textiles can get warm, too. If you live in an area with very hot summers, look for something with lots of zippered vents. Leather can be treated with a waterproof leather dressing but, even if treated, it will withstand rain for only a short time. Hopefully, it will hold out the rain just long enough for you to get home from work. If leather is your preference, you can always carry a lightweight rain-suit in your tank-bag. Textiles are usually lighter in weight and easier to wear. Many textile jackets are less expensive than leather. Textiles are usually made of strong synthetics such as nylon, polyester, Cordura, and Ballistics cloth. Textiles dry much faster than leather and many are waterproof. Gore-Tex is widely known as one of the very best waterproof and breathable materials. There are also other waterproof options such as Drystar, Rainguard, Rock Tex, D-Dry, Hypertex, H2Out, Hydratex, HYDRAGuard. Keep in mind that all waterproof materials are a compromise. The more waterproof any fabric is, the less breathable, and the more breathable it is, the less waterproof. Select something according to the climate you live in and will ride in. Most dedicated year-round riders will own a textile winter jacket to complement their leather summer jacket. Many year-round jackets have removable insulated layers, waterproof layers, and the protective outer shell. If your new jacket will be only for summer use, you should fit it over one or two lightweight shirts or t-shirts. If you'll wear it in colder temperatures, fit it loose enough to layer on a sweater, hoody, or a fleece jacket. Make sure that the sleeves are long enough to cover your wrists when your hands are stretched out to your bars and that the tail covers the waistband of your pants when sitting in your riding position. You should select your first motorcycle jacket to suit the conditions you'll ride in most of the time. If you get hooked on the sport like the rest of us have, you can always get a specific jacket for extreme warm or extreme cold conditions later. comments powered by

Sold Out $ 200.00 Vendor: This product is unavailable. Share this: LIMITED STOCK IN SELECT SIZES "Darmok”, “Unification” and “The Inner Light”. Among the very best episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation; all share one distinctive costume piece in common…Captain Picard’s suede look jacket. Designed by Robert Blackman with direct input from Sir Patrick Stewart himself, Captain Picard’s Jacket was intended to make the Captain stand out from the rest of the crew - just as Captain Kirk’s wraparound tunics had a generation before. We all wanted it the first time we saw it on El-Adrel, and by the time Jean-Luc plays the first notes of “Kamin’s Song” we had to have it. Having examined a screen-used jacket, we duplicated the patterning and precise color of the original down to a tee. We then sourced the correct synthetic fiber for the body, microsuede for the shoulders, satin interior lining for comfort, and finished it with a zipper closure so you can recreate the different adventures in which Captain Picard wore this stunning jacket. We wanted nothing less than a pinnacle reproduction of the suede look jacket Captain Picard wore on the bridge of the Enterprise-D, and as much as we wanted it all for ourselves we are "Temba, his arms wide open" the Picard Jacket to all of our Next Generation fans. Sizing Guide If you plan on wear multiple layers of clothing when wearing this jacket, we strongly recommend going up one size bigger. Chest (inches) 35"-38" 39"-41" 42"-45" 46"-49" 50"-53" Arm Length (inches) 33" 34" 34.5" 35" 35.5" Body Length (inches) 25" 26" 26.5" 27" 28" Details Synthetic fibers color matched to preserved, screen-used jacket from private collection. Patterned directly from screen-used jacket, used throughout seasons five through seven. Microsuede material for shoulders, with quilted look mirroring the original costume piece. Features Satin interior lining for comfort, just like the original. Full body front zipper closure. Hidden inside breast pocket for smaller items. (Business cards, Type 1 phasers, etc.) Order Information Shipping updates available via our Star Trek Product Updates page. Shipping time frame given is an estimate only and is subject to change for any reason. Shipping and Handling The shipping and handling for this item is also collected at the time of pre-order.

Lookbook: Julian Berman Studio: Frame Photographics Almost all of our special projects are born through relationships. This one was initiated by our good friend Nate Bui, who was our first Style Profiles feature that we posted on our website. He's what you'd call a Schott leather jacket aficionado, and his love for the company and their iconic products stretches back well before he was hired to work for the company. It was through Nate's introduction to Jason Schott that we were able to begin conversations on working together on a project that would be able to represent the ideals of both companies. What resulted is a custom double rider Perfecto hand cut and sewn to our exact specifications in Schott's family-owned factory. The jacket’s silhouette is a modernized, slim fit version of the classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket originally designed by Irving Schott in 1928; Schott enthusiasts will know this exact fit as the 519. With its slightly lengthened body and slimmer arms, the jacket has a fashion-forward fit that is equally at home in both casual and riding functions. Additionally, eliminating the belt and the epaulet star on the classic Perfecto and employing matte black hardware for all zippers and snaps yields a monochromatic, easy-to-wear look. The Schott for 3sixteen Perfecto is made of premium naked cowhide, a leather with a slight sheen and supple hand that will age beautifully. Unlike traditional finished leather that has a rigid shiny topcoat, naked cowhide has no finish and open pores, resulting in a softer feel and an easier break-in period. The jacket is lined with raw Japanese selvedge chambray fabric that will provide for comfortable, lightweight, year-round wear. The lining features a busted-seam detail that runs up the back to show the self edge of the fabric. Lastly, a custom leather patch commemorating the collaboration is sewn into the lining above an inside pocket.
