93.
94.
95.
96.
Corey Coleman (d.o.b 14/04/1999), of Park View, Llanharan, Rhondda Cynon Taf, was also handed a suspended prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to four offences under the Animal Welfare Act on 9 April at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court.

101.
102.
103.
104.
The offences, which had been captured on CCTV and took place in June and July last year (2024) included causing unnecessary suffering to stallions Benny and Bear by subjecting them to a combination of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.

105.
106.
107.
108.
He also admitted to failing to meet the needs of Benny and Bear to protect them from pain, suffering, injury and disease and also to a bay mare named Narla who was in season at the time of the offences and was exposed to a risk of injury from the stallions.

109.
110.
111.
112.
He was sentenced on Wednesday 2 July at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court to an eight-week* prison sentence suspended for 12 months, 25 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days and he was disqualified from owning, keeping or transporting horses for five years.

113.
114.
115.
116.
Coleman was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £154 victim surcharge and a contribution of £200 to the RSPCA’s costs.

117.
118.
119.
120.
In mitigation it was heard that he didn’t think he was harming the horses but accepted after reading the vet evidence that he caused them to suffer.

121.
122.
123.
124.
The court heard that the case related to three horses, a palomino stallion called Benny, a bay mare with white markings called Narla and a bay colt called Bear.

125.
126.
127.
128.
Concerns were raised when Coleman was injured by one of the stallions on 27 June and CCTV was reviewed to establish the cause of the incident which left the defendant with a broken back.

129.
130.
131.
132.
The court heard that subsequent footage showed the defendant still abusing horses, even with a broken back and whilst wearing a back brace. The footage also showed children had been in the vicinity whilst Coleman was carrying out one of the attacks.

133.
134.
135.
136.
On 31 July last year, police, the RSPCA and a vet attended the yard at Tonyrefail and identified the three horses seen on the CCTV. They were examined by a vet and luckily were found to have no physical injuries from the abuse.

137.
138.
139.
140.

141.
142.
143.
144.
In a witness statement written by RSPCA Inspector Keith Hogben he said that outside the stable where Benny was kept was a plastic container which he was told belonged to Corey Coleman.

145.
146.
147.
148.
He said: “In this container was a bottle of baby lotion that was also seen in the CCTV videos, this baby lotion bottle was photographed by myself in situ.”

149.
150.
151.
152.
A report from an independent expert vet was provided to the court – who reviewed sections of CCTV footage from 27 June, 15 July and 29 July.

153.
154.
155.
156.
The vet said the key footage is from 15 July which shows “clearly what Mr Coleman doing to the stallion”.

157.
158.
159.
160.
The vet report states: “In this footage it is notable that Mr Coleman is using a mare who appears to be in season positioned outside the stallion’s stable to tease and arouse the stallion before he then enters the stallion’s stable and masturbates the stallion which is clearly shown on the footage. He is also shown inserting his fingers into the anus of the stallion.

161.
162.
163.
164.
“It is also notable that Mr Coleman repeatedly offers his bare forearm to the stallion to nuzzle and mouth on.

165.
166.
167.
168.
“The same behaviours are shown on the videos from the other two dates but on these occasions Mr Coleman interacts with a stallion who is stabled out of the CCTV footage so whilst it is possible to observe Mr Coleman’s interactions with the mare who he positions outside the stallion’s stable it is not possible to see what interactions he is having with the stallion.

169.
170.
171.
172.
“It is however possible to see that he repeatedly offers his bare forearm to the stallion to nuzzle and mouth as he does on the footage from the 15 July.”

173.
174.
175.
176.

177.
178.
179.
180.

181.
182.
183.
184.
The vet concluded that: “It is my expert opinion that the CCTV shows Mr Coleman sexually abusing both stallions and that in doing so he has caused them both to suffer unnecessarily as shown by their aversive behaviour in moving away from him and circling around from him.”

185.
186.
187.
188.
He added that in his expert opinion based on the evidence supplied to him “that this abuse has been conducted over a prolonged period of time as the horses were conditioned to this abuse”.

189.
190.
191.
192.
RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector – and Investigating officer in this case, Gemma Cooper said: “Following an examination by a vet thankfully the horses were found to be okay despite having to endure this abuse and suffering.

193.
194.
195.
196.

“We’d like to thank everyone involved – in what has been a harrowing case.”

280.
281.
282.
283.
Leroy Christopher Wall (d.o.b 17/01/1990), of Victoria Lane, Ebbw Vale, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 25 June and pleaded guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act.

284.
285.
286.
287.
The offence was that he caused unnecessary suffering to a Patterdale terrier dog called Blackie by failing to ensure he provided timely and appropriate veterinary care for the injury to his left eye.

288.
289.
290.
291.
The court heard in mitigation that it had not been a deliberate disregard and Wall tried to deal with the injury but was not equipped with the means or access to vets, and has acknowledged he should have done more.

292.
293.
294.
295.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order with 40 hours unpaid work, 10 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and was disqualified from keeping mammals for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £1,000 and a victim surcharge £114.

296.
297.
298.
299.
The disqualification order was suspended for 14 days to allow time for the RSPCA to seize other animals under the care of Wall.

307.
The court heard in a written statement from RSPCA Animal Welfare Officer (ARO) Shannon Guppy that nine-month-old Blackie was seen by her on 19 September 2024 and had what “appeared to be a severely bulging eye”.

308.
309.
310.
311.
The owner explained that he had been attacked by another dog during feeding time around three days prior. He admitted he knew Blackie needed vet care but had not sought it.

312.
313.
314.
315.
At the vets, police took Blackie into possession and surgery was carried out for his eye to be removed.

323.
A vet said that by failing to seek veterinary attention for his injuries the owner had “failed in their duty of care and left him suffering unnecessarily for a period of three-six days” with no treatment to relieve his pain.

324.
325.
326.
327.
Blackie, who recovered well from the surgery, has officially been transferred into the care of the RSPCA, and will soon be released rehoming.

328.
329.
330.
331.
Following sentencing, RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Gemma Black, said: “Blackie was clearly suffering and the pictures of him with his severe eye injury are extremely upsetting.

551.
A Senedd member called for a greater focus on veterans diagnosed with cancer amid concerns about a causal link to exposure to toxic fumes during their military service.

552.
553.
554.
555.
Julie Morgan paid tribute to her Cardiff north constituent Zach Stubbings, who died in January aged 46, after dedicating his life to serve in the Royal Air Force for 15 years.

556.
557.
558.
559.
Ms Morgan said the winchman, who trained Prince William while at RAF Valley, flew more than 2,000 hours on Sea King helicopters carrying out search and rescue missions.

560.
561.
562.
563.
She explained Zach was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable form of blood cancer, aged only 33 years old when he was stationed in north Wales in 2013.

564.
565.
566.
567.
Ms Morgan said Zach came to see her in June last year after discovering a causal link between his cancer and the fumes he breathed while working on RAF helicopters.

568.
569.
570.
571.
‘Fight for justice’

572.
573.
574.
575.
Following his diagnosis, Zach, along with three other veterans affected by cancer, founded the Fly Hard, Fight Hard group to raise awareness.

576.
577.
578.
579.
Ms Morgan said: “Zach’s health progressively started to deteriorate from about autumn 2022 but his determination and fight to get justice never waned.

580.
581.
582.
583.
“He wasn’t just fighting for himself – he was fighting for other people who had been affected too. In fact, last year he was willing to meet with me and an officer from the armed forces department of the Welsh Government in his hospital bed.

584.
585.
586.
587.
“Unfortunately, just before the meeting, Zach’s health rapidly declined, so it never took place then he sadly passed away in January.”

588.
589.
590.
591.
The MP-turned-Senedd member expressed concerns about claims the Ministry of Defence may have known about the dangers of toxic fumes as far back as 1999.

592.
593.
594.
595.
‘Urgently needed’

596.
597.
598.
599.
Ms Morgan said the MoD has rebuked the claims, referring to helicopter tests carried out which indicated that aircrews were not exposed to dangerous levels of contaminants.

600.
601.
602.
603.
But she told the Senedd: “There are more than 180 cases being dealt with by solicitors across the UK of people who are progressing action against the MoD. So far, six cases have been settled… one of those cases was Zach’s but he still continued to campaign for others.”

604.
605.
606.
607.
The Labour politician stressed the need to educate new recruits about the possible dangers and ensure GPs are aware of a person’s military record.

608.
609.
610.
611.
She called on the Welsh Government to press the MoD to reveal the number of veterans who flew in helicopters, were exposed to toxic fumes and consequently developed cancer.

612.
613.
614.
615.
“This is data that is urgently needed,” she said. “The MoD has already started this process but it needs to act quickly because people are dying.”

616.
617.
618.
619.
‘Legacy’

620.
621.
622.
623.
Ms Morgan concluded: “Unfortunately, Zach is no longer here to carry on his campaign for justice, so we owe it to him to carry on his legacy.”

624.
625.
626.
627.
Responding to the debate on July 2, Ken Skates said medical care and occupational health in the armed forces is the responsibility of the MoD.

628.
629.
630.
631.
He told the Senedd: “The settlement of all claims, compensation for injuries or conditions acquired as a result of service is also their responsibility.

632.
633.
634.
635.
“But we can and do add our voices from Wales, reflecting what we hear and see, and we rightly raise concerns and press for reassurance when responsibility… lies elsewhere.”

636.
637.
638.
639.
Mr Skates said he would raise the matter with Alistair Carns, the UK minister for veterans.

655.
A healthy, vibrant lawn is often seen as the hallmark of a well-maintained garden. But even with consistent mowing, watering, and fertilizing, some lawns just don’t seem to flourish. The grass may look thin, patchy, or struggle to grow altogether. In many cases, the issue lies below the surface, in a condition that’s both common and frequently overlooked: soil compaction.

656.
657.
658.
659.
Soil compaction occurs when soil particles are pressed tightly together, reducing the pore space between them. These pores are crucial for holding air, water, and nutrients, which grass roots need to grow and thrive. When compacted, soil becomes dense and hard, making it difficult for roots to penetrate and access the essential elements of life. The result? Poor growth, shallow roots, and increased susceptibility to drought, pests, and disease.

660.
661.
662.
663.
Several factors contribute to soil compaction. High foot traffic is a primary cause—whether it’s children playing, pets running around, or even regular garden maintenance, repeated pressure compresses the soil. Heavy equipment and vehicles, particularly in newly built homes where construction has taken place, also compact the topsoil layer. Even excessive rainfall can play a role, especially in areas with clay-heavy soil that naturally retains water and becomes easily compressed when wet.

664.
665.
666.
667.
One of the telltale signs of compacted soil is water pooling on the surface after rain or irrigation. This happens because water cannot penetrate deeply and instead runs off or remains stagnant. Another indicator is the presence of moss, which thrives in damp, poorly drained conditions. Lawns growing in compacted soil often appear thin, with grass that yellows or browns easily, even when moisture is adequate.

668.
669.
670.
671.
To confirm soil compaction, you can perform a simple test at home. Try inserting a screwdriver or garden fork into the soil. If it’s difficult to penetrate more than a few inches, compaction is likely the problem. A more detailed analysis might involve removing a plug of soil and examining the root depth—shallow roots are another red flag.

672.
673.
674.
675.
Fortunately, there are effective solutions for combating compacted soil. Aeration is the most widely recommended remedy. This process involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the grass roots. The most effective method is core aeration, which removes small plugs of soil, creating space for the roots to expand and encouraging deeper growth. Spike aeration, which simply pokes holes into the soil, can also be useful but may be less effective on heavily compacted areas.

676.
677.
678.
679.
Timing is critical when it comes to aeration. The best seasons to aerate are either in the spring or early autumn, when grass is actively growing and can recover quickly. For cool-season grasses, early autumn is ideal. For warm-season varieties, late spring to early summer is better. It’s important to water the lawn a day or two before aerating so the soil is moist but not muddy—this allows the aerator to penetrate effectively.

680.
681.
682.
683.
Following aeration, it’s a good time to apply compost or topsoil and reseed any sparse areas. These practices help enrich the soil and encourage a thicker, healthier lawn. Over time, with proper care, the grass will grow stronger, and the soil will regain its natural structure and porosity.

684.
685.
686.
687.
Midway through any lawn care journey, equipment quality and advice become critical. That’s where Ron Smith and their longstanding reputation in garden machinery come into play. Known for supplying durable aerators, scarifiers, and other essential tools, Ron Smith is a trusted resource for gardeners looking to tackle soil compaction properly. Beyond the tools themselves, the right guidance can ensure you’re not just reacting to lawn issues, but preventing them long-term.

688.
689.
690.
691.
Ongoing maintenance is just as important as the initial fix. To prevent soil from becoming compacted again, limit heavy foot traffic in vulnerable areas or install stepping stones for regular pathways. Avoid working or walking on the lawn when the soil is waterlogged. Continue to aerate annually or as needed, especially in high-use areas, and incorporate organic matter into the soil to improve its structure and resilience. In the end, soil compaction may not be as visible as a brown patch or a weed invasion, but its effects are just as damaging. By understanding its causes, recognizing the symptoms, and taking action, you can restore vitality to your lawn from the ground up. Healthy soil means healthy grass, and a thriving lawn is well within reach once you address what’s really going on beneath your feet.

706.

707.
Number plate cloning is a growing concern for motorists across the UK. It occurs when someone copies your vehicle’s registration number and places it on another vehicle, often of the same make, model, and colour. This second vehicle is typically used for illegal activity or to avoid paying fines, charges, or insurance. The result is that you, the legitimate owner, are left to deal with parking fines, speeding tickets, or worse, legal accusations for offences you didn’t commit.

708.
709.
710.
711.
The process is disturbingly simple. Cloners either take a photo of your vehicle in public or find your registration number online, particularly on car sale websites or social media platforms. They then have duplicate plates made, often through unregulated or dishonest suppliers who do not request proof of ownership. Once fitted to another vehicle, that car is effectively “in disguise,” shielded by your identity.

712.
713.
714.
715.
You might not even realise your number plate has been cloned until the letters start arriving. These can include penalty notices for speeding, parking violations, or congestion charges in cities you haven’t driven through. In some cases, cloned vehicles have been involved in criminal activities, leaving innocent car owners facing visits from the police and long hours proving their innocence.

716.
717.
718.
719.
Understanding how to protect yourself from number plate cloning begins with awareness. Criminals target vehicles that are common and nondescript—popular models like Fords, Volkswagens, and Toyotas—because they’re easier to find matching versions of. If you drive a vehicle that fits this profile, you’re automatically a higher-risk target, especially if your registration is visible online or your car is parked regularly in public places.

720.
721.
722.
723.
If you receive a fine or notice that doesn’t seem right, check all the details carefully. Look at the time, location, and any images provided. If it couldn’t possibly have been your car, you may be dealing with a cloned plate. It’s important to act fast. Report the issue to the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number. Contact the issuing authority for the fine—whether it’s a local council or enforcement agency—and explain the situation, providing the police reference as evidence.

724.
725.
726.
727.
You should also inform the DVLA as soon as possible. They can add notes to your vehicle record and may help you in disputing any penalties. In more extreme or persistent cases of cloning, they may allow you to change your registration number altogether to put an end to repeated misuse.

728.
729.
730.
731.
One of the simplest ways to reduce your risk is to ensure your number plates are securely fitted with anti-theft screws. These are specially designed to be difficult to remove without the correct tools, making it harder for opportunistic thieves to steal them from your parked car. Some drivers even opt for tamper-proof or shatter-resistant plates that can deter or delay theft attempts.

732.
733.
734.
735.
When it comes to getting replacement or personalised plates, always use a reputable supplier. A trusted provider like Regplates will follow DVLA guidelines and require proper documentation before producing any number plates. This not only ensures your plates are legal and roadworthy but also helps to keep unregulated duplicates out of circulation.

736.
737.
738.
739.
Another precaution is to avoid sharing your full registration online. If you’re advertising your car for sale or showcasing it on social media, consider blurring or covering the number plate. This simple act can stop someone from using your registration without ever having seen your car in person.

740.
741.
742.
743.
Some drivers choose to install dashcams with parking mode capabilities. These cameras record activity around your vehicle even when it’s parked and unattended. Should someone attempt to remove your plates or tamper with your car, you may capture footage that can assist police in tracking them down.

744.
745.
746.
747.
If you suspect your number plate has been cloned, don’t ignore the signs. Even one unexplained fine or letter could be the first clue. Respond quickly, gather your evidence, and maintain a clear record of communications with both the authorities and the police.

748.
749.
750.
751.
Number plate cloning can be frustrating and time-consuming to deal with, but taking preventative action now can save you from stress and potential financial loss down the line. Make your car less appealing to fraudsters by using anti-theft plates, limiting your registration’s visibility online, and working only with verified plate suppliers. While it may not be possible to prevent cloning entirely, staying alert and prepared gives you a much better chance of avoiding its consequences.

767.
When it comes to staying active on holiday, not everyone wants to hit the gym or follow a structured workout routine. For many travellers, the joy of discovering a new place should come first—fitness just happens to follow naturally. That’s where walking and cycling tours come in. They’re immersive, engaging, and a surprisingly effective way to stay moving without it ever feeling like a workout.

768.
769.
770.
771.
Whether you’re meandering through cobbled streets in a historic town or pedalling past scenic countryside views, walking and cycling tours offer a perfect blend of sightseeing and subtle physical activity. The best part? You’ll return home with memories and movement in equal measure.

772.
773.
774.
775.
Here are some of the most enjoyable ways to turn your holiday explorations into natural exercise—without even realising you’re burning calories.

776.
777.
778.
779.
1. Self-Guided Walking Tours

780.
781.
782.
783.
Self-guided walking tours are a fantastic way to explore a destination at your own pace. Many cities and towns offer printed or downloadable maps that lead you through key landmarks, historic areas, and hidden gems.

784.
785.
786.
787.
Instead of hopping on a bus or hailing a cab, lace up a pair of comfortable shoes and set off on foot. You’ll find that walking lets you engage with the environment in a much deeper way—you can stop to admire architecture, browse a local market, or grab a snack from a street vendor.

788.
789.
790.
791.
Plus, it’s one of the easiest ways to stay active, especially for those who might not enjoy traditional workouts. If you’re planning your next trip, look for destinations that offer scenic or cultural walking loops—you’ll rack up steps without even noticing.

792.
793.
794.
795.
2. Themed Guided Tours

796.
797.
798.
799.
For those who prefer a bit of structure, a guided walking or cycling tour focused on a specific theme—like street art, local cuisine, or historical figures—can be incredibly fun and informative. These tours often involve walking several miles or cycling between spots, but because your focus is on the experience, the physical effort fades into the background.

800.
801.
802.
803.
In many cities, food tours have become a popular option. You’ll walk from stop to stop, sampling local dishes while a guide shares stories about the area’s culinary history. It’s the perfect combination of indulgence and activity.

804.
805.
806.
807.
Midway through your adventure, take inspiration from Manor & Ashbury Resorts, where walking and cycling are naturally woven into daily experiences. With miles of countryside trails and organised outings available, guests can explore the stunning Devon landscape without ever feeling like they’re “working out.”

808.
809.
810.
811.
3. Countryside Cycling Routes

812.
813.
814.
815.
For those who prefer two wheels over two feet, cycling tours through rural or scenic areas provide a more dynamic way to explore. Whether you rent a bike for a few hours or join a guided cycling excursion, pedalling through quiet lanes, coastal roads, or country paths is a fantastic way to stay active.

816.
817.
818.
819.
Cycling allows you to cover more ground than walking while still giving you the freedom to stop whenever something catches your eye. Pack a picnic, bring a camera, and make a full day of it—it’s a workout in disguise.

820.
821.
822.
823.
Don’t forget to check for local cycling maps or ask your accommodation if they offer bike hire or route suggestions.

824.
825.
826.
827.
4. Urban Art Hunts and Photo Walks

828.
829.
830.
831.
If your holiday takes you to a city, why not turn your walk into a creative adventure? Urban art hunts—where you search for public murals, sculptures, or graffiti—add an interactive twist to traditional sightseeing. You can even gamify it by creating a checklist or setting challenges for your travel companions.

832.
833.
834.
835.
Similarly, photo walks encourage you to slow down and notice the details. Whether you’re capturing architecture, markets, or quiet alleyways, the act of walking with intention can help you cover several miles without it ever feeling tiring.

836.
837.
838.
839.
5. Hidden Trails and Local Secrets

840.
841.
842.
843.
Ask a local, and they’ll likely point you to a quiet path or lesser-known trail away from the crowds. Exploring these off-the-beaten-path spots often involves a bit of light hiking or walking—but in the best possible way. These routes not only offer solitude and natural beauty but also encourage a more relaxed, mindful form of exercise.

844.
845.
846.
847.
Bring along a journal, sketchbook, or just your thoughts—you might find these hidden corners the most rewarding part of your trip.

848.
849.
850.
851.
Summing Up

852.
853.
854.
855.
Staying active on holiday doesn’t require fitness apps or sweat sessions. With walking and cycling tours, movement becomes a natural part of your exploration. You’ll return home with a refreshed mind, stronger body, and a deeper connection to the places you’ve visited.

856.
857.
858.
859.
Next time you’re planning your getaway, consider building your itinerary around experiences that keep you moving, engaging, and curious. After all, the best adventures happen on foot—or by pedal.

875.
In a dynamic and highly competitive city like London, choosing the right business growth consultant can make the difference between stagnation and sustainable success. Whether you’re a startup founder, a scaling SME, or a well-established enterprise looking to pivot, this guide will help you identify the consultant that truly fits your needs.

881.
882.
883.
1. Define Your Growth Goals First

884.
885.
886.
887.
Before you even start comparing consultants, ask yourself:

888.
889.
890.
891.

892.
Are you looking to increase revenue, expand to new markets, improve operational efficiency, or prepare for investment?

893.
894.
895.
896.
Do you need strategic advice, hands-on execution support, or external fundraising preparation?

897.

898.
899.
900.
901.
A good consultant will bring clarity to your path, but having clear internal goals ensures alignment from the beginning.

902.
903.
904.
905.
2. Look for Local Expertise and Market Understanding

906.
907.
908.
909.
A London-based consultant should not only know business strategy — they should also understand:

923.

924.
925.
926.
927.
Their network and understanding of London’s economic landscape can dramatically accelerate your progress.

928.
929.
930.
931.
3. Assess Their Track Record with Similar Businesses

932.
933.
934.
935.
Ask for case studies, references, or specific examples of past clients. A few questions to guide your due diligence:

936.
937.
938.
939.

940.
Have they worked with businesses of your size and stage?

945.
946.
947.
948.
Can they demonstrate quantifiable results?

949.

950.
951.
952.
953.
Reputable consultants will be transparent about past performance and will often have testimonials or client success stories available.

954.
955.
956.
957.
4. Evaluate Their Approach and Methodology

958.

1075.
CETMA have been in London this month campaigning with over 700 other foodbanks, food pantries and other food projects to Guarantee Our Essentials!

1076.
1077.
1078.
1079.
CETMA joined with IFAN, Trussell, JRF, Feeding Britain, Your Local Pantry, and the Salvation Army to attend their joint lobby day in Westminster on Wednesday the 18th of June 2025 which brought people from all over the country together to speak to their MPs on the same day about the Guarantee Our Essentials campaign.

1080.
1081.
1082.
1083.
The guarantee out essentials campaign is focused on the need to increase Universal Credit in line with the cost of essentials.

1084.
1085.
1086.
1087.
The Essentials Guarantee would embed in our social security system the widely supported principle that, at a minimum, Universal Credit should protect people from going without essentials. Developed in line with public attitude insights and focus groups, this policy would ensure everyone has a protected minimum amount of support in Universal Credit to afford essentials. It would enshrine in legislation:

1088.
1089.
1090.
1091.

1092.
a legal minimum (the ‘Essentials Guarantee’) in Universal Credit – the standard allowance would need to at least meet this amount, and deductions (such as debt repayments to government, or because of the benefit cap) would not be allowed to reduce support below that level

1093.
1094.
1095.
1096.
an independent process to regularly recommend the Essentials Guarantee level, based on the cost of essentials (such as food, utilities and vital household items) for the adults in a household (excluding rent and council tax).

1097.

1098.
1099.
1100.
1101.
The UK Government would be required to set the level of the Essentials Guarantee at least annually, based on the recommendation of the independent process. However, our analysis indicates that it would need to be at least £120 a week for a single adult and £205 for a couple.

1102.
1103.
1104.
1105.
Foodbank manager Orianna Evans has said “We were so honoured to join over 700 other people in making our voices heard to our MPs. People are struggling now, boosting UC in 2029 is no good, it’s now people are struggling. We see first hand on how families are struggling to afford the basics, it’s not luxury families are after it’s simply food, heating, electricity and internet, the essentials. We can only hope that this has opened they eyes of the MPs, and they will see just how important this campaign is.”

1106.
1107.
1108.
1109.
If you would like more information on the campaign and how you can help please go to https://www.trussell.org.uk/support-us/guarantee-our-essentials.

1125.
In an age dominated by instant messaging, social media, and video calls, it’s easy to assume that communication has become easier, faster, and more effective. However, the truth is more nuanced. Despite the convenience and speed of digital communication, reliability remains a critical element—and often, it’s the most overlooked. From business calls to emergency situations, a dependable communication channel can be the difference between success and failure.

1126.
1127.
1128.
1129.
The Illusion of Constant Connectivity

1130.
1131.
1132.
1133.
We live in a hyper-connected world, yet technical glitches, network outages, and overloaded systems still happen regularly. Whether it’s a dropped call during an important client pitch or a message delayed due to server issues, the failure of digital communication can lead to missed opportunities and misunderstandings. Unlike traditional methods, many modern communication tools rely on internet bandwidth and mobile coverage, both of which can be unreliable in certain areas.

1134.
1135.
1136.
1137.
Why Reliability Trumps Speed

1138.
1139.
1140.
1141.
Speed is undoubtedly important—no one wants to wait hours for a reply—but it should never come at the expense of reliability. What use is a lightning-fast response if it’s lost, garbled, or misinterpreted due to poor signal or software errors? Reliable communication ensures that the message is not only delivered but also received and understood as intended. This is especially important in sectors like healthcare, legal, or customer service, where one miscommunication can have significant consequences.

1142.
1143.
1144.
1145.
Professionalism in a Sea of Informality

1146.
1147.
1148.
1149.
Texting and chatting might be suitable for casual interactions, but when it comes to professional relationships, reliable voice communication still holds weight. A call provides tone, nuance, and immediate feedback—things that emails and messages often lack. This is where traditional channels, such as landlines, still play a key role. For instance, businesses often benefit from using UK Landline Phone Numbers for Mobile, as they offer credibility, stability, and ease of recognition for customers. When clients see a local landline number, they’re more likely to trust the business and feel comfortable reaching out.

1153.
The Human Connection Factor

1154.
1155.
1156.
1157.
Reliable communication isn’t just about logistics; it’s also deeply tied to emotional understanding. While emojis and video filters attempt to replicate emotional nuance, nothing beats the real-time, unfiltered tone of voice. This human touch is vital, especially in sensitive conversations, such as giving feedback, resolving conflicts, or showing empathy. It’s not just what we say—it’s how we say it, and reliable voice communication preserves that subtle but essential layer.

1158.
1159.
1160.
1161.
Hybrid Work and the Need for Stable Channels

1162.
1163.
1164.
1165.
The rise of remote and hybrid working models has only emphasised the need for dependable communication methods. Team members might be spread across different time zones and working environments, but the need to stay in sync is greater than ever. Video conferencing apps and collaborative platforms have their place, but they can’t fully replace the simplicity and stability of a well-placed phone call. Landlines, or virtual landline services, continue to offer a lifeline for professionals who need consistent voice clarity and uptime.

1166.
1167.
1168.
1169.
Digital Isn’t Always Better—Balance Is Key

1170.
1171.
1172.
1173.
It’s tempting to believe that every new app or platform offers a better way to communicate, but the newest option isn’t always the most effective. There’s a growing recognition that older methods still have a place in today’s digital ecosystem. The key is not to discard traditional communication tools, but to integrate them intelligently with modern systems. A well-rounded communication strategy combines the best of both worlds—instant digital channels and reliable voice systems.

1174.
1175.
1176.
1177.
Conclusion

1178.
1179.
1180.
1181.
In a digital-first world, reliability remains the cornerstone of meaningful communication. Whether you’re managing a business, connecting with loved ones, or working remotely, the tools you use must be dependable. While mobile devices and apps have transformed how we connect, traditional options like landlines—especially when paired with modern flexibility—continue to deliver unmatched consistency and trust.

1393.

The UK mortgage industry is made up of a wide range of advisers. Some work independently, while others are part of growing firms or national businesses. Regardless of size or setup, one thing unites them all: the need for strong, reliable support. Mortgage broker networks have become a crucial part of that support system. They help advisers focus on what they do best, guiding clients through important financial decisions, while providing the structure needed to run a business effectively.

1394.
From the solo broker just starting out to established companies with expanding teams, the right network can offer the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed in a demanding market.

1395.
Helping the Self-Employed Broker Thrive

1396.
For many self-employed mortgage advisers, working independently offers freedom, but it also brings significant challenges. Managing compliance, marketing, client files, and lender relationships without outside support can be overwhelming. A well-run broker network can completely change that experience. It gives self-employed advisers access to expert guidance, professional systems, and a broader lender panel, all while allowing them to retain their independence.

1397.
Mortgage Networks often provide systems for case management, compliance tracking, and business support. This allows brokers to concentrate on building strong client relationships instead of getting lost in paperwork and regulation. It is not about giving up control. It is about having the right structure in place to grow with confidence.

1398.
Supporting Larger Broker Firms

1399.
Larger broker companies also benefit from network partnerships. As teams grow, so does the complexity of compliance, technology, and adviser training. Mortgage networks offer centralised tools and governance so business owners can focus on managing people, improving service, and developing new opportunities.

1400.
These firms often gain access to marketing support, performance insights, and platforms that scale effectively across multiple advisers. Dedicated account managers and regular business reviews help company leaders plan ahead and maintain consistent service as they grow.

1401.
Practical Support That Makes a Difference

1402.
The best mortgage adviser networks stand out by offering everyday support that actually helps. This includes up-to-date compliance information, file audits, marketing content, technology training, and access to lender relationships that make things move more smoothly. Brokers know they can turn to their network for advice, updates, or a second opinion whenever needed.

1403.
Whether it is working through a complex case, planning a lead generation campaign, or getting clarification on new product rules, the guidance provided by strong networks removes uncertainty and builds confidence.

1404.
A Community, Not Just a Framework

1405.
Many advisers value more than just the operational benefits. Being part of a mortgage brokers network creates a sense of community. Training events, lender briefings, and regular communications bring brokers together and encourage idea sharing. It provides a professional home where learning and collaboration are part of the culture.

1406.
This is especially helpful in a fast-changing market. As new affordability rules appear, lender criteria shift, and guidance from regulators evolves, having a community to share knowledge and experience can make a real difference.

1407.
Choosing the Right Network

1408.
Every adviser and every firm has different priorities. Some need help with marketing, others with compliance or technology. Some value one-to-one business development support, while others want the freedom to operate with minimal oversight. The most effective networks understand this and offer flexible, tailored solutions.

1409.
There is no single way to be successful. The key is to choose a network that understands your business, respects your goals, and is prepared to help you reach them.

1410.
Our Final Word
