90.

GST is an important aspect of any business. The same goes for GST on Banquet and Catering Services Business. In India, Banquet Services is quite popular and successful. Therefore, The government gains revenue by imposing GST on Banquet and Catering Services.
91. Let us understand it in detail.

 92.
What are Banquet Services?
93. Banquet Services, as we all know, entail a more sophisticated meal than a typical family supper owing to the magnitude of the occasion or the number of people in attendance.

 94.
These services might include things like weddings, meetings, and conferences. The Banquet Hall is subject to an 18% GST charge. It is charged separately irrespective of other services.

 95.
What are Catering Services?
96. Catering services, in basic terms, assist clients with food preparation, manufacturing, delivery, and presentation. If you’ve ever been to a wedding reception where the food was well prepared and served, you’ve undoubtedly attended a catering event.

 97.
As a result, catering services refers to a company whose major goal is to prepare food and meals on site and then transport them to another location for consumption.

 98.
GST on Banquet and Catering Services
99. Banquet hall services are typically provided by India, hotels, and big banquet halls, and include hall rental and décor. They also provide restaurant services such as catering, staffing, and event planning. A banquet hall or hotel, on the other hand, can opt to rent out the space or provide catering services.

 100.
In the case of the services described above, four HSN categories are applicable.

 101.
Cafes, room services, meal delivery to your house, and other similar services are included in HSN 996331.

 102.
Catering services provided at parties, weddings, exhibition halls, and other events are covered under HSN 996334.

 103.
HSN 998553 includes reservation services for convention and congress centers

 104.
HSN 997212 includes leasing or rental services associated with the leased or owned non-residential property.

 119.

Many grandparents spend cash on their grandkids – whether by chipping in on tuition bills, purchasing special treats or simply buying holiday gifts and helping with day-to-day expenses. Many seniors say that creating a financially secure life for themselves and their family is an important goal. As a grandparent, it can be hard to find a balance between supporting (and spoiling) your grandkids while ensuring you don’t run short on funds to reach your own financial and retirement goals. Here are four tips to keep it all in check:

 120.
1. Know what you can afford. No matter how much you enjoy splurging on your grandkids, your financial security should remain your first priority. There are many unknowns in retirement, including your longevity, fluctuation of the markets and the impact of inflation on purchasing power. Spend and gift within your means to maintain your own financial health in the future.

 121.
2. Determine if you’re giving or loaning. If you’re giving a gift, understand current federal tax rules, which are based on the calendar year. In 2015, you can give up to $14,000 to each family member before the federal gift tax is applied. And make certain the recipient knows it’s a gift for their own tax purposes, and so there is no uncertainty about whether or not they need to pay you back. If you are loaning money to a grandchild, be very specific about the terms and repayment, and consider having a written document that both parties sign and date. This can help safeguard your financial situation and ensure both of you are on the same page – now and in the future.

 122.
3. Talk about it. Many people tend to shy away from discussions about money and finances with their family. If you would like to help support your grandchildren or save for their future goals like college or a down payment on a home, be sure to communicate this with their parents. This can help your adult children do a better job with their own financial planning. For example, if the parents of your grandchild know how much you are expecting to contribute to their child’s education, they may be able to decrease the amount allocated to a 529 Plan and invest more toward other goals, such as their own retirement.

 123.
4. Establish boundaries. Even if you want to help your grandchildren financially, depending on their situation, it may not be appropriate to do so, or to repeatedly provide support. Everyone appreciates help, but if your grandchild needs to learn financial independence, there can be value in letting them live within their own means. Keep in mind the smart – and sometimes tough – financial lessons you learned as you made your own way as a young adult, and the pride that came with successfully overcoming challenges.

 124.
If you want to provide financial support to a family member, but haven’t incorporated it into your overall financial plan, consider consulting a financial professional. He or she can help you evaluate your financial needs and goals and create a strategy. A clear and realistic understanding of your own financial picture can help you identify how much you can comfortably give and stay on track with your own goals.

 139.

I have waited years for this to happen to me. Most of my friends are grandparents already and I’ve anxiously awaited the exciting news to happen to me. We all know that this is the crowning achievement of being a parent ourselves. No matter what else our own children do, how accomplished they are, how smart they are or how funny they are, it all comes down to this. THIS, my friends, means that you finally get to stop being just a parent. You can now be a certified GRANDPARENT. This is when you can stop worrying and stop being the responsible one. You can stop advising your own kids and gently (?) reminding them of what they’re supposed to be doing and simply ENJOY.

 140.
Yep, with a grandchild, you don’t have to worry about any of that. It’s parental bliss. Somebody else can do all the heavy lifting while you sit back and enjoy the good stuff. You get to spoil them, kiss them and hug them, fill their tummies with cookies and other good things to bribe them into loving you and then send them home for their temper tantrums, sleepless nights, and the number of other fun things we had to put up with as a parent. The time is near!

 141.
Wait… is that a worry?

 142.
Now that I know I’m going to be a grandmother, it means that my own child is going to have a baby. You know this is going to change their lives completely… will they be okay? It’s a huge responsibility, it’s expensive, will they have enough patience, how will they work it out with their jobs, will the dog be good with the baby? There are so many questions and so many worries. I thought this was supposed to be the easy part. Daily, I seem to be coming up with a whole new set of things to worry about. Granted, if worrying was an Olympic sport, I would compete and win the gold medal each and every time, but I’m sure that this is normal. The difference in being a parent and being a grandparent is that, this time around, I know what’s in store for them and I can’t do anything about it. I know darn well that they’re going to be great parents, but it is not going to stop me from worrying all the same. That poor little child is going to fall down and get hurt, he’s going to get sick, and he’s going to be unhappy sometimes; that’s a fact. Now, though, not only am I going to have to worry about my grandchild during those times, but I’m also going to worry about his mom and dad having to go through it, knowing how much it hurts them, as it did me, and not be able to do anything about it. How come nobody told me about this part of being a parent or grandparent?

 143.
I think that instead of landing on parent easy street, I just realized that I am about to embark on a whole new journey as a parent. I’m certain that I’m going to have my very own special relationship with my grandchildren, but am now realizing that I am about to have a whole new relationship with my own children as well. Being a parent really is a lifelong endeavor and becoming a grandparent is just another part of the same journey, with an awesome bonus.

 144.
I’m going to try my hardest to not worry about anything. I am going to spend lots of time with my new little grandson, cuddling, spoiling, and just loving him. When I send him home, I will give my own son and daughter-in-law an extra hug for all that they have to worry about now.

 173.

 174.
When students graduate from college, they expect to begin a new job, one that will launch their careers and get them started in life. They will have worked their way through college and reached the senior year with the expectation that they are prepared to conduct their senior year job search, will take a few interviews and will receive one or more job offers. Unfortunately, things don’t always go the way we all would like them to work out. In fact, after a long, frustrating and disappointing job search effort, unprepared students and recent graduates will start the negative self-talk and think to themselves, “I can’t find a job.”

 175.
Those five words should scare every college student. That’s why it’s important for students to understand that the battle for a good job starts long before the senior year of college. Nobody can conduct an effective senior year job search, having done little or nothing to get prepared for that job search. “Getting Ready” is what students should be doing during each and every semester of college.

 176.
Since most students just don’t know what they should be doing to get ready, let’s deal with that issue here and now. There are things that students can be working on from the first day they enter college. Therefore, students who are serious about landing a good job should concentrate on things that will help them do just that. They include the following:

 177.
1. Enthusiastically pursue beneficial knowledge, activities, experiences and friendships

 178.
2. Discover and explore personal interests, directions, capabilities and limits

 179.
3. Become known for something associated with their interests and direction

 180.
4. Impress at least one influential Professor

 181.
5. Involve themselves with two or more doers and thinkers in their field

 182.
6. Get some solid work experience in their area of interest

 183.
7. Develop relationships with three or more impressive references

 184.
8. Lead a group that achieves something positive and significant

 185.
9. Develop, then demonstrate exceptional communication skills

 186.
10. Research 200+ employers that hire college grads with their capabilities

 187.
11. Create and utilize their personal Alumni network

 188.
12. Develop a comprehensive job search strategy

 189.
Each of these assignments must be started early in the college experience and should be completed before the beginning of the senior year. Because these difficult and challenging tasks will take a long time to complete, any student who waits until their senior year to get started will almost certainly have killed their chances for landing the job they have dreamed about. They won’t be prepared for the five word question that the best employers want answered, “Why should we hire you?”

 190.
When students approach their college and job search responsibilities in a systematic and businesslike manner, they will help to ensure that their search for employment ends in success. A semester-by-semester plan should be developed, written out and followed. That plan will bring clarity and a timetable to the steps required in the critical process that is overlooked by too many capable students.

 191.
We all know that not everything will go smoothly along to way. When problems and obstacles occur, students must call upon their pride, determination and creativity to push through or go around the challenges that present themselves. Employers look for those qualities that enable students to keep going, when things get rough. During interviews, students should be prepared to present and discuss their accomplishments, including a few stories about the obstacles that were overcome. Employers love students who have had to fight for success, can stand up to difficulties and still function well.

 192.
Because the best candidates are already fully prepared for their job search, they can devote their entire senior year to that effort. All of the preliminary work was completed earlier. Now it’s just a matter of executing their strategy in an exceptional manner, one that will result in them uttering five more words, “I have a great job.”

 224.

 225.
I don’t know but you but I’ve had enough of the stock market for now. The recession of 2008 to 2010 has wrecked havoc on the stock market dropping it as low as 30 to 40% only to shoot back up again and then back down again; it’s a roller coaster that I don’t want to deal with anymore.

 226.
Which begs the question, what should I invest in if not the stock market? The answer may be real estate. Yes the real estate market hasn’t fared much better than the stock market during the current recession but things may be turning around which means that it might be the right time to get into real estate as we speak.

 227.
But I’m not the kind of guy that wants to own a bunch of rental units because I’m not the kind of guy that wants to get telephone calls at three o’clock in the morning because one of my tenants has just discovered that their stove is broke or their hot water heater has gone on the fritz. I’d like to take advantage of real estate investing without all the hassle of… well… tenants!

 228.
If you’re with me, then read on because that’s exactly what I’m going to talk about today; alternative forms of real estate investing that you may not have ever thought about.

 229.
One form of real estate investing is to invest in real estate investment trusts or REITS as they are commonly referred to. This has been a very attractive form of real estate investing in the past, but these entities are often closely tied into the stock market and that market correlation has dragged down profits over the years during the recession so I’m not entirely sure that they are the best place for my money today.

 230.
One type of investing that many people have never even heard of are called mortgage loan partnerships and these may be some of the fastest growing types of real estate investments that you can find today. In addition to being fast growing, they are also some of the safer investments out there which may surprise you, I know it surprised me!

 231.
So here’s how they work. These partnerships usually invest in properties that have much higher values than the mortgages that underlying them. Usually for as little as $1000 an ordinary investor can buy a share in a partnership. That partnership then purchases mortgages on commercial properties. The mortgages that are written are written slightly differently than your ordinary mortgage allowing the partnership to benefit from any rent increases on the property over time.

 232.
One thing to keep in mind is that there isn’t often a secondary market for these mortgages meaning you often have to hold them until maturity and you can’t really just call up your stockbroker and sell these things if you get tired of investing in them or your financial situation changes.

 233.
The stock market may be in chaos right now and the real estate market may not be that much better off but we’re starting to see signs of a real estate turnaround which leads me to think that now may be the perfect time to jump back in.

 234.

 265.
Do you want to get in shape but cannot work out regularly because of your busy schedule? You should go over this article for some helpful tips.

 266.
If you spend most of your time sitting at a desk, you need to take frequent breaks and do a few exercises. You should bring a yoga mat to work so you can do some abs, crunches and push ups in your office. You could also do some jumping jacks to work on your cardio. If you do not have an office, you should talk to your employer about setting up a space for employees to work out during their breaks. You could also go for power walks during your lunch break to get some fresh air and improve your cardio.

 267.
If you spend your evenings watching TV or surfing the Internet, you need to find new activities that will help you relax and get in shape. You will have more energy for these activities once you adopt a more active lifestyle. Try taking a power nap when you get home from work so you can work out later during the evening. Find some activities you really enjoy. You do not have to stay home and do push ups or lift weights. You could go out for a run, take your dog for a walk or join a club or a team to work out with others.

 268.
Plan your weekends in advance so you have time to exercise. You could cook your food in advance, have someone in your family go grocery shopping for you or even hire a cleaning lady to help you take care of your home. Work out at least twice during your weekend, but make sure you do not exercise the same muscle groups two days in a row. You should develop two different work out routines so you can focus on each muscle group at least once during your weekend for better results.

 269.
Make some changes to your routine. You could go to bed earlier so you can wake up half an hour in advance and have time for a short workout. This will give you plenty of energy for your entire day. Organize yourself more efficiently at work so you can take breaks or go home early and exercise. Do not hesitate to let your employer know that working out regularly helps you keep your stress levels under control and allows you to focus on your work and be an efficient employee. You should also talk to your family about wanting to get in shape. Ask family members to help with different tasks. Once you exercise on a regular basis, you should feel more relaxed and have more energy which means you will go through your daily tasks a lot more efficiently.

 270.
These tips will help you get in shape while keeping up with your busy schedule. You will feel a lot better once you get into the habit of working out on a regular basis and adopt a more active lifestyle.

 358.
As an IT personnel servicing multiple clients, it’s not unusual to receive requests for products upgrade from customers. The Internet has indeed evolved, from text-based websites to multimedia-rich contents. And as with every progress made, you either adapt or get left behind.

 359.
So the case turned out during a meeting with a client, who having just heard of the new way of transmitting live video over the Internet, requested that it be built into his website. He had an upcoming seminar and in order to break the distance barrier, the event had to be streamed live over the Internet. This was an uphill task, since I had not researched much into the new technology called video streaming.

 360.
Transmitting a live event from a location to other places is not new, news outfits like CNN and Fox have being able to broadcast live using satellite links. Improvement in video technologies, higher computing power and lower bandwidth cost set the stage for live broadcast of audio and video contents over the Internet. Achieving efficiency with new technologies means a marrying of the old with the new.

 361.
The Internet set the stage for live video streaming, with its high speed Internet connection and advanced video compression techniques. To however broadcast video from your website, you may have to do a checklist so you can get the best out of your investment.

 362.
Before You Set Up Video Streaming

 363.
1. Whether to stream or not to stream. It is one thing to deploy cutting edge technology on your website, its usefulness is another thing entirely. Do not integrate video streaming into your website if it will not reinforce your design objective. The cost of video hosting and bandwidth required is much higher than that for a conventional website. If it is a business site, then the increased cost must be justifiable.

 364.
Alternatives could be using graphics and text to tell the story, or transcription of the videos into text versions. Another alternative is using YouTube, you can display an image from the video, write a summary and place a link to the video’s location on YouTube. On YouTube your videos are hosted for free, and they can be watched on-demand.

 365.
2. Live streaming or Video on Demand. On-line video streaming comes in two forms – live streaming and Video on Demand. Live streaming is real-time broadcast over the Internet; your viewers can only watch the videos as you broadcast them. A missed scene cannot be replayed, and the contents cannot be saved on the computer of the viewer. These are appropriate for high profile meetings, seminars, breaking news and other visuals that are best enjoyed when viewed real time.

 366.
For Video on Demand, the videos are saved on the server and can be watched at any time. Packaged programs, musical videos, adverts, are examples of videos suitable for Video on Demand. Videos on you tube are on demand, they can only be downloaded if you’ve got a download manager.

 367.
Live streaming requires more hardware – capture cards, web-cams, video recorders, video compression utilities, broadband Internet access etc. It requires more precision, leaving room for no mistakes. Video on Demand less hardware – usually a PC and Internet connection. Your kind of contents and presentation should decide the form of video streaming chosen.

 368.
3. Self hosting or hosting by Content Delivery Network. Most web hosts offer video streaming support, so you could host your videos directly on the server that hosts your site. You manage your video streaming from the same window as your website, and you’re completely responsible for the administration.

 369.
You could also use the services of Content Delivery Networks who host your videos separately. You are given a separate control panel to manage your videos, and this reduces the weight on your site’s administration and management.

 370.
The two options have their pros and cons, but you’ll have to decide which is best for you. Hosting and managing your videos yourself, or having your videos hosted by a separate platform.

 371.
One clear advantage of Content Delivery Networks is that they’re uniquely designed to manage your videos, so you should get better value per Dollar spent on video streaming.

 372.
4. Quality vs size of your videos. Bit-rate is defined as the frequency of data that is transmitted every second. A bit-rate of 64 k bps means that 64 bits of data is transmitted every second. Transmission of data is measured this way. As a rule, the larger the video file, the higher the bit-rate, and the higher the bandwidth needed to transmit it over the Internet.

 373.
Every time I compress a video file, I reduce the size and also the quality, so that the bandwidth needed for transmission is reduced. The reason for compressing video is cost, smaller bandwidth is cheaper. But while trying to reduce the size of the video, you should not lose sight of the fact that the quality would be compromised.

 374.
A factor also to consider when setting the bit-rate is available bandwidth for households. If in a bid to broadcast high quality videos, I choose a bit-rate of 512 k bps for my videos. Without considering that most of my audience only have access to 256 k bps or lower, I risk losing them.

 375.
5. Having your videos on your home page or other pages. Placing your video on your home page means your video has to be played each time your site is visited. Delay in loading means that your visitors might not wait to watch them. When they are placed on other pages inside your site, your visitors have the choice of visiting the pages to view them. That way they can wait even if the videos takes a longer time to play.

 376.
Having your videos inside your website is also cost saving. Since you are charged per download. If your video is on the home page, you are billed whenever someone visits the site. Most times they never stay to watch the video. However, videos embedded inside the website are billed as visitors click on their links to watch them. You get better value for your money because more of your visitors actually watch the videos.

 377.
The list is not exhaustive, but the points outlined are pertinent before setting up video streaming on your website. Other issues like which hosting platform, the streaming media, video file to support etc will be considered along the way.

 416.

 417.
The process leading up to a transaction online is possibly the most critical to a shopping cart’s success. If the buying process causes frustration, confusion or insecurity, the user is likely to abandon the shopping cart, never to return again.

 418.
The usability of a shopping cart refers to the efficiency with which a user can achieve their goals on a website. Many of the larger online shopping carts, like Play.com and Amazon.com, are continuously striving to make their buying process as fluent and as effortless as possible. Knowing you can buy a book or film in just 3 or 4 clicks encourages you to return to the same, reliable website.

 419.
Having read numerous articles and white papers dedicated to best practice shopping cart design and usability; below I have highlighted five potential design problems in shopping carts that I’m sure many users have encountered.

 420.
1. Shopping carts that ask a user to register before knowing if the product is available or not.

 421.
It could be quite irritating for a user if they have spent 10 minutes entering their credit card details, home address, telephone number etc etc. only to find out during the checkout process that the product they want to buy is out of stock.

 422.
Many shopping carts enable you to present users with live stock availability before the user places their product in the shopping cart.

 423.
2. Suggesting the user buys similar products before adding the main product to the shopping cart.

 424.
It’s often helpful when a website recommends additional products you may want or need after adding your main product to your shopping cart.

 425.
However, I think you’ll agree that it could be slightly confusing if these additional products were offered to you before even adding the main product to your shopping cart? You press “Add to Cart” and suddenly you’re offered batteries, or insoles or travel cases. Many users would be left feeling confused, wondering if their product had been added or not, or if they’d pressed the wrong button.

 426.
Best practice guidelines would indicate offering your user the extra products after the user has finished shopping and they’re entering the checkout process.

 427.
3. Shopping carts that ask a user to register before they have even added a product to their shopping cart.
