31.

Education is no longer considered a privilege. In most jurisdictions, ‘education’ is considered as an indispensable part of a child’s rights. In the UK, education has always commanded a high priority in the society. The government, in turn, has always adopted a liberal education policy, as highlighted from the laws of the land. That’s why the concept of Home Education (HE) has always been an integral part of society in the UK.Why Home Education?Due to a multicultural and plural society as prevalent in the UK, the reasons for parents to opt for Home Education may vary. Some of the common factors influencing parents’ decisions regarding the educational needs of their children include:- Religious, philosophical, or spiritual compulsions
32. - Unsatisfactory school system
33. - Lack of suitable schools in the locality
34. - To meet the specific and/or special needs of some children, like those suffering from diseases such as Cerebral Palsy, autism etc.
35. - Failure of child and school management to effectively tackle certain conditions in school, like bullying, corporal punishment etc.
36. - Financial reasons etc.Recently, the Parental Responsibility has emerged as one of the major reasons for Home-Educating children in the UK. More and more parents are trying to learn the art of true parenthood and are relishing the additional responsibility of being (actually) responsible for the growth of the thought process in the child.Whatever may be the compelling circumstances, Home Education is here to stay, and is being increasingly preferred in the UK. An estimated 100,000 children between the ages of 5 and 16 are being given Home Education by their parents in the United Kingdom, and the figure is likely to increase in the coming years.Benefits of Home EducationHome Education (tutorial-based teaching) has several advantages over classroom education (instructions-based teaching). Some of these include:1. The child tends to receive individualistic and far more attention at home than at school.
37. 2. Comfortable home environment in the company of parents gives the child an ideal environment to learn.
38. 3. The absence of awe-inspiring teachers means quick feedback from the child to assess his/her learning capabilities.
39. 4. The Child can learn at their own pace, and follow their own curriculum and interests.
40. 5. Enhanced self-motivation and self-discipline in the child.
41. 6. Instilment of parental values instead of peer values in the child.
42. 7. Cultivation of courage to arrive at independent decisions.
43. 8. Avoid destructive competition in search of better grades from the peers and fellow students.
44. 9. Special children need special attention that can only be provided under home conditions.
45. 10. Above all, as a parental responsibility of teaching your child, nothing is more beneficial and satisfactory than to take complete responsibility of your child’s education.Shortcomings of Home EducationOne must also consider some disadvantages of Home Education before deciding the academic future of the child. Some of these include:1. Non-development of social skills due to the absence of interaction with peers and teachers.
46. 2. Special expertise and skills required to teach may be lacking in the parents. Moreover, they might not be abreast of the latest technologies and teaching aids that might help the child learn better.
47. 3. Even both the parents combined may not know all the subjects required for the proper education of the child.
48. 4. Parents may ultimately spend a considerable amount of time equipping themselves with the skills to teach their child; thus, losing out on the chance to supplement the family income.
49. 5. Laboratories, gyms, and other facilities provided by school authorities may not be accessible from home.
50. 6. A child’s progress will not be adequately monitored, especially as they do not have to follow the National Curriculum or take SATs.Home Education in UK – Legal AspectThe UK is divided into different legal jurisdictions. For instance, there are different sets of laws applicable in England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. However, substantially, all these jurisdictions follow similar legal principles and postulates, with minor variations.Home Education has legal sanction in all three regions in the UK. Section 7 of the Education Act 1996 (England and Wales), Sections 30 of Education (Scotland) Act 1980, and Article 45 of Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986, are the relevant legal provisions that provide the requisite teeth to the concept of Home Education in the UK.Here is the summary of these legalities as applicable in the UK:Only ‘education’ is compulsory under UK laws and not ‘schooling.’No qualification is prescribed for the parents desirous of giving Home Education to their child.Parents are at absolute liberty to decide how they want their child to be educated at home.No compulsion of following the National Curriculum or observing school hours.Parents must ensure that their child receives an efficient full time education, suitable to his/her age, ability and aptitude, and to any special educational needs the child may have.Parents are not legally obligated to inform the Local Education Authority (LEA) when they decide to educate their children at home. If the child has never been registered at a State school, or if you move to an area served by another LEA, you are not obliged to notify the LEA, although you may do so if you wish. If you are taking your child out of a state school in England or Wales, the head teacher must remove the child’s name from the register and inform the LEA. If your child has special needs and attends a special school, you need permission to deregister. However, if you are withdrawing your child from a State school in Scotland, the LEA must be informed. No special Government grants are available for Home Education in UK.No formal tests are required to pass by the child. However, the LEA may ask for information informally at intervals to monitor your child’s progress. There is no prohibition on the Home Education of a statemented child provided he/she is not attending a special school, in which case you need the consent of the LEA.Home-Educated children can take GCSEs as private candidates or as students of correspondence courses. However, it is not compulsory to take GCSEs.To address the concern for social deprivation of Home-Educated children, in many areas, home educators meet regularly for social, educational, and other activities. Children also attend clubs, classes, sporting and leisure activities in the community. Children get to interact with people of all ages as well as their peers.

 65.

The various definitions of health status indicate that it can be determined on the basis of both objective and subjective measures. Typically, in the workplace, it is determined on the basis of clinical biometric measures such as BMI (body mass index), blood pressure, weight, cholesterol levels and blood sugar level. These objective measures are derived through a process commonly known as biometric screening.Since health status can involve both objective and subjective data, knowing these different data points is important.Subjective Data Sources• Biographical information• Physical symptoms• Past health history• Family history• Health beliefs and values• LifestyleObjective Data Sources• Physical characteristics• Appearance• Health, lifestyle and other behaviors• Body systems functioning• Measurements and screening results• Results from lab testingSince there is no standard for health status, it can be based on either objective or subjective data. Generally though, current approaches are focused almost exclusively on the effects of illness and the varying states of ill-health.How individuals conceptualize their health has been shown to vary as a function of:• Age and gender• Social class• CultureThis means that how they view their health status will vary as well. Given that the conceptualization can vary, it is important to make the assessment about the individual employee as a whole person and not just about their current biometric data. This means that the employee needs to be viewed in the various contexts that can and will influence their health and not just as an isolated individual. An effective health assessment requires a contextual awareness and understanding in addition to observing and understanding any objective measurement and test results.Despite the worksite wellness community’s heavy reliance on objective measures as indicators of health, I found it interesting to read that “self-assessed health contributed significantly to the prediction of mortality, even after controlling for a wide array of objective health indicators.” (Wright, 1977)In his book, Healing Beyond the Body, Dr. Larry Dossey wrote: “Our own opinion about the state of our health is a better predictor than physical symptoms and objective factors such as extensive exams, laboratory tests or behaviors.” Dr. Dossey also wrote that how people answer the question “Is your health excellent, good, fair, or poor is a better predictor of who will live or die over the next decade than in-depth physical examinations, and extensive laboratory tests.”The quotes by Wright and Dossey are particularly note-worthy given the worksite wellness community’s heavy promotion of workplace biometric screening results as being indicators of an employee’s health status. Given that health can be defined in very broad conceptual terms and health status can be very subjective as well, it might behoove the worksite wellness community to take a look at its current approach to wellness being limited to just individual employee health status that is based on biometrics and health risk assessments. When it comes to the status of an employee’s health, the worksite wellness community would be wise to look beyond just the results of biometric screenings.ResourcesDossey, Larry. MD. 2001. Healing Beyond The Body. Boston: Shambhala Publications.Wright, Stephen. 1997. Health Status Assessment in Cambridge Handbook of Psychology, Health and Medicine. Baum, Andre. 80.

Finance is a very broad subject. Speaking in terms of employment doesn’t narrow the term much. There are a wide variety of careers and job positions available in the Finance field. Education requirements and salary expectations depend on the area of interest, as well as the geographical position.Several careers opportunities are available in Finance. Banking is probably the more common position that comes to mind. Commercial Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Insurance, Investment Banking, Money Management, and Careers in Real Estate are all related to the field of Finance. Studies done recently have shown that the need for people in the Finance field is growing. Incidentally, as long as there is money involved, there is a need for finance. Some characteristics of Finance professionals include; Strategic thinking, and the ability to comprehend complicated matters fairly quickly, a new, fresh perspective, and candor. If you are interested in a career in finance, you should also possess some leadership qualities, have a firm understanding of risk management, and have strong analytical and problem solving skills.Keeping in mind that Finance is a global industry, a second or even third language would be a very helpful skill in this field. Education requirements vary, depending on the career path that you have chosen. An Associates Degree would be beneficial for a few minor career choices, but most companies require at least a Bachelor’s Degree for jobs such as accounting, investment banking, commercial banking, and so forth. You can opt to pursue your Master’s Degree, and expect to earn a much higher annual income. Income ranges with a Bachelor’s Degree start around $25,000 per year and top out at over $40,000. Starting salaries with a Master’s range from $30,000 to $80,000 annually. Incidentally, if you choose a Bachelor’s degree, your starting title would probably be “Junior Financial Analyst”, as with a Master’s it would be “Financial Analyst”. So, besides the annual income being higher, with a Master’s Degree, you can expect to have more responsibility and a much higher “clout” with companies than if you simply pursue a Bachelor’s Degree.Whatever degree you decide to obtain, there will be specific courses of study that you must take. Actual course titles will, of course, vary by institution, but an example of your required courses would be: Developing Business Perspective, Management and Leadership, Fundamentals of Business, Marketing and Sales, Human Resource Management, Organization and Communication, Finance and Accounting, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investment and Portfolio Management, Business Ethics, Public and Nonprofit Finance, and Risk Management. Keep in mind that these courses are not the only ones that you will be required to take, depending on your choice of degree, and the institution that you attend. The Government Finance Officers Association has information, news, and helpful links to help you whether you are in the Finance industry, or just thinking of entering finance. You can find lists of companies that are hiring, as well as their salary requirements and educational requirements. There are also links to local training events, as well as general news that affects the finance industry in the United States and Canada.A look at some current job openings in the finance field, shows that the need for financial advisors is very much in demand. In California, an Assistant Chief Fiscal Officer, for a county government office, with only 1 year of experience, has a salary range of $81,765 to $99,424 annually. There are many opportunities in the government, if you have a finance degree, and you can expect the salary to be very competitive. Other, non-government companies, such as AIG, American Express, and local banks are a good place to get your start in the finance world. Also, private firms such as Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance Canada, Inc., Chapman and Cutler, and William Blair & Company, all which serve the US and Canada, and other private firms hire periodically for new positions, and offer competitive salaries. If you are inclined to seek your career in the finance industry, research companies well to find the best one for you. Educationally speaking, most colleges and institutions offer a wide range of courses, depending on the focal point of your finance choice. You would need to delve into the path of finance that you are planning to pursue, and with a little research and a good head for business, you could well be on your way to a very lucrative career in the ever-growing Finance World.

 104.

Smart phones have changed everything when it comes to local Internet search. Between the iPhone and Google Android based smart phones alone, companies are reporting upwards of a half million account activations daily! While somewhere between 15% and 20% of all searches on the web are done from smart phones these days, nearly 75% of ALL searches online no matter the device have to do with searching for local information. Let us not forget that nearly two thirds of all Americans search for local businesses online. It is time to get your Google Places page whipped into shape!Google Places is a force to be reckoned with for certain. Not too long ago, Google changed the format of its search results page to include maps and local listings. This means that even if your actual website is not ranking on page one, yet, you can still get your Google Places page a front row seat in the meantime. Additionally, once you do get your website ranking on the first page, now you have two mentions on Google’s page one of your business instead of just one. Please note that because of the recent enhancements Google has made to the search results page, local listings have become very competitive. Once upon a time, one could simply create a business listing on Google and get noticed. Things are a bit different going into 2011, and you can bet they will continue to evolve. For now, here are four action items you can do to make it way more likely you show up in the top 7 local search results Google displays on the first page:1. Include product or service keywords in your listing description. It is smart to casually mention one or two cities or towns you service and sell to, but DO NOT over do this and do not throw city names into strange fields elsewhere on your page; this can be more damaging than helpful. It is good general practice to not over use key words anyway. Most importantly, make sure your description is written for people to read, not search engines.2. Make sure your Google Places profile is 100% complete. When you are creating or editing your listing, you will notice in the right margin a percentage score of how complete your profile is. This must be 100% if you want Google Places to work for you at all. There are more than 20 different elements you can fill in and they all need to be complete. Having a 100% score can mean the difference between showing up on the front page of Google Places (or in the first 7 Google Places results on the regular Google search results page).3. Get a handful of client reviews on your Google Places page. This can be the tiebreaker that makes the difference between being seen and not being seen. This is especially true in more competitive local markets. If all of your competition is sporting a 100% completion score on their profile page, what do you suppose both Google and prospective customers browsing the web will look for next? The review portion of your Google Places profile is mostly influenced by people outside your immediate control, and is therefore a variable Google is most likely to use to break ties in the case of ranking one listing above another. Across the board, you are doing really well if you 10 legitimate customer reviews working for you. Most Google Places profiles don’t get near 10 reviews.4. Get listed and claim your profile in all of the top local directory services. This does sound a little backwards as we are talking specifically about Google Places here, but Google is a search engine company looking to continually validate its existence by providing the freshest most accurate data possible. This means that they are constantly looking at thousands of third party sources to ensure the data it has is correct. If you are not listed anywhere else, it may effect your ability to show up on the first page at all. To start you may want to consider the following: Yahoo Local, Bing Local, Yelp, Best of the Web, HotFrog, and Foursquare. The same rules go for any of these listing services. Make the profiles as complete as absolutely possible!Utilizing local listings on the Internet has always been considered a good practice, just as being in the phone book was just a good idea 20 years ago, but now local listings are vital. It has been considered a good SEO practice, but now it is essential to any SEO campaign. If you follow the guidelines in this article, you will at least have a good start in getting noticed and getting that phone to ring a little more.

 142.

If you’re in sales, then you’ve probably heard all sorts of advice, from “don’t oversell” to “focus on solving problems.” However, one of the best pieces of advice that many forget is to smile! After all, your smile is one of the first features people notice about you, and it plays an essential role in the first impression you make. Keep reading to learn all about the importance of a smile in sales (as well as how cosmetic dentistry can help!).

 143.
Smile: Your Sale Depends on It!

 144.
Knowing your product and knowing your audience are key in sales. However, you don’t get far if your client doesn’t trust you or believe you. That’s why it’s so important to make a good first impression! Here are a few ways a smile can help:

 145.
• Smiling is more powerful than you might think – One study found that smiling has the same effect on our brain as $25,000 in cash!

 146.
• Smiling communicates your state of mind – Smiling is a non-verbal cue that you are happy to be where you are, that you are confident in your product, and that you are ready and willing to help.

 147.
• Smiling creates a ripple effect of positivity – Have you ever seen a friend yawn and done the same? Or seen someone take a sip of water and immediately realized you’re thirsty? Thanks to the mirroring neurons in our brains, we naturally mimic the behavior of those around us.

 223.

Anti-ligature blinds are becoming increasingly popular in a range of different settings. The way these blinds differ from traditional blinds is that they are designed to prevent suicide by hanging.

 224.
Initially, uptake for this type of blind was largely restricted to high-risk environments such as psychiatric hospitals and prisons, where suicide is common. In mental health environments and detention centres, suicide via hanging is common and preventative measures must be implemented. A huge range of objects could be used to create a ligature point, meaning anti-ligature systems are highly important.

 225.
Over the years, anti-ligature blinds have been supplied to hospitals, schools, student accommodation and even hotels.

 226.
How do they work?

 227.
There are a range of different systems on the market, but the most reliable could well be the magnetic anti-ligature system. YewdaleKestrel® products utilise load release magnets which separate when a downward force is exerted on the product. This means that the product falls to the ground safely and prevents suicide via hanging.

 228.
The magnetic systems used in Yewdale’s products are highly reliable because magnets don’t lose their strength for hundreds of years, guaranteeing a lifetime of lifesaving functionality.

 229.
Anti-ligature blinds usually have a magnetic connection point above the blind’s barrel. The blind is easy to reconnect to the magnetic bracket after it has fallen to the floor.

 230.
If you are considering an anti-ligature blind, Yewdale is a highly recommended company. Based in the UK, Yewdale produce a wide range of anti-ligature products, commercial blinds, and healthcare products including hospital cubicle tracks and medical curtains.

 231.
Yewdale produce other anti-ligature products too including a soft, lightweight en-suite door and other accessories such as soap dispensers, toilet roll holder, shelves and artwork. You can see the full range on the website using the link below.

 331.

For those who want to lose weight

 332.
Research on the causes of obesity, knowledge about weight loss, and various diets for weight loss are updated every year. However, with the update of knowledge and the release of diet pills one after another, the obesity rate continues to rise every year, and there is no sign of wanting to decline. I used to be very, very fat, and I am also a person who is prone to obesity.

 333.
So I understand the voices of fat people, I really want to lose weight, but I tried many ways to lose weight at that time without success.

 334.
I have tried the common boiled meals on the market, eating less and moving more, but it was not until I tried other diets that I managed to lose weight. After I lost weight, I began to study the essence and method of losing weight, and wrote him in this weight loss strategy article, hoping to help you.

 335.
A few key myths about losing weight

 336.
The weight loss myth of eating less and moving more

 337.
The phrase “eat less and move more” is actually true, but most people do it wrong. Many people think that they should eat less of everything, so they limit their calories to a very low level, and it feels a bit like eating an ultra-low-calorie fairy meal. Then, for the hyperactive part, the first thing that everyone thinks of is aerobic exercise such as running, cycling, etc., but in fact, this is a very short-term and easy way to regain weight, mainly because eating too little is an easy way to lose weight. The reason for the loss of muscle mass, coupled with the fact that aerobic training is not helpful for muscle mass growth, causes the metabolism to drop too much.

 338.
Maybe you can lose 5 kilograms in this way, but if your metabolism declines, you will easily regain the weight. And it’s all the fat that gets back up, not the muscle you lose that makes you look fatter than before. This is what we call the yo-yo effect, lose weight, get fat back, get fatter than before, lose weight, get back on Fat, get fatter than before.

 339.
Stop taking diet pills and meal replacements

 340.
At this time, you may start to seek other ways, eat weight loss meal replacements, taking diet pills, and so on. But believe me, most diet pills will inevitably hurt the body, especially the gastrointestinal tract. You may actually lose weight in the moment, but when your gastrointestinal tract is damaged, you will be fatter than before.

 341.
The key to understanding how to lose weight

 342.
You must have thought, why some people will not gain weight no matter what they eat, while some people will gain a kilogram the next day after eating a little bread? What is the cause of obesity? This is not a simple answer that can be solved!

 343.
You can see the link to the picture below, mainly talking about the influencing factors of obesity, which are very, very complicated.

 344.
Image source: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/296290/obesity-map-full-hi-res.pdf

 345.
In the middle of this picture is the heat balance

 346.
So we can know that calorie balance is very important

 347.
But this article doesn’t keep preaching that calorie balance is the key to losing weight like other sites

 348.
If you don’t know what calorie balance is, you can probably imagine that our body has calorie consumption (exercise, thermogenesis, basal metabolism), and calorie intake (eating).

 349.
When calorie consumption exceeds calorie intake, the weight will drop, so the truth of weight loss is to eat less and move more, very simple. In the short term, it is really possible to simply achieve weight loss by eating less and moving more, but simplicity is not simple, because the operation of the body is very complicated. Many people think that they can control their calorie consumption, that they can achieve a lot of calorie expenditure by running all the time, and that eating fairy meals (low-calorie meals) can reduce calorie intake and then easily lose it.

 350.
However, according to research, 90% of people who use calorie control, eat less and move more to lose weight will fail or regain the weight.

 351.
Because eating less and moving more for too long, metabolism will easily drop, hormones will easily become imbalanced, and muscle mass will easily be lost. Even if you lose 10 kilograms, you will easily regain weight.

 352.
When losing weight, the body is like a factory

 353.
For me, the key to long-term weight loss and maintaining good posture is the environment in the body, such as hormones, the level of inflammation in the body, and the gastrointestinal system.

 354.
Think of the body as a factory

 355.
-Your hormones are the managers and workers of factory operations

 356.
-Inflamed condition is how good factory machinery and hardware are

 357.
-Calorie intake is wages for factories as well as fuel

 358.
If the manager of this factory is an idiot, or if the hardware in your factory is completely rotten, then no matter how it works, it will create a pile of waste. Just as our hormones are already out of balance and the level of inflammation in the body is very high, no matter how much you eat, if you don’t solve the existing problems, it will easily accumulate into fat. It may be easier to understand with a few examples.

 359.
Hormones vs Weight Loss

 360.
This study looked at the effects of sleep and weight loss

 361.
Research source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20921542

 362.
Both groups of humans were calorie-restricted, but one group slept 5.5 hours a night and the other 8.5 hours. Both groups lost weight, but the group that slept less lost 55 percent less body fat and 65 percent more muscle mass than the group that slept more. It is equivalent to losing weight, but most of the loss is muscle mass, which reduces metabolism and makes it easy to regain weight later.

 363.
There is such a big difference mainly because poor sleep has a negative impact. The imbalance of the secretion of these things will easily increase fat and reduce muscle.

 364.
This next study looks at the effect of insulin sensitivity on body composition!

 365.
Research source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19471290

 366.
Basically, many chronic metabolic diseases, obesity, and poor muscle-building effects are closely related to low insulin sensitivity. Insulin is an anti-catabolic hormone whose main function is to store nutrients in cells. For example, after heavy training, our muscles will be more sensitive to insulin, and the nutrients we eat will be more easily absorbed into the muscles. When insulin sensitivity is low, the nutrients we eat are more likely to be stored as fat rather than absorbed into muscles.

 367.
We can simply say that the nutrients in the food eaten by people who are insulin insensitive are more likely to be stored as fat, and the relative fat mass will be much higher than the muscle mass.

 368.
To put it simply, the key to losing weight is actually to improve hormones, improve inflammation in the body, and add an appropriate calorie deficit. It is not difficult to achieve a calorie deficit. What is more difficult is how to choose the type of food that suits your body to improve hormones and achieve a long-term good body.

 369.
If you only pursue short-term weight loss and rely on a lot of calorie deficits to achieve the effect of weight loss, and then the hormones are still the same after the loss, then I can guarantee that you will gain weight very easily.

 370.
With so many ways to eat on the internet, which diet should I try?

 371.
When talking about losing weight in Taiwan 30 years ago, everyone would definitely want to use boiled meals

 372.
When it came to losing weight five years ago, everyone might think of using a low-sugar diet. When it came to losing weight in the past two or three years, everyone might directly think of the ketogenic diet.

 373.
I lost 30kg in 3 months on a low-sugar diet myself for the first time, so I used to believe that a low-sugar diet was the best way to lose weight

 374.
But after my long-term understanding of weight loss-related research, genetic cognition, and observation of students, there is no diet that is most suitable for everyone! Although it is said that high-carbohydrate foods will most stimulate insulin secretion, which in turn promotes the storage of nutrients into fat, some people are naturally good at metabolizing carbohydrates, so they can still be healthy and strong after eating high-carbohydrate throughout their lives.

 375.
For example, this study compared the responses of people with high and low insulin sensitivity to high- and low-carb diets.

 376.
Research source: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1038/oby.2005.79

 377.
The study concluded:

 378.
-For people with high insulin sensitivity, eating high-carb and low-fat to lose weight is very helpful

 379.
-However, people who are insulin insensitive use a high-carb low-fat diet to lose fat, but the weight loss effect is not so good.

 380.
But on the contrary, studies have also shown that people with low insulin sensitivity have a very good weight loss effect on a low-carb high-fat diet, which shows that improving insulin is very important for weight loss, and it also shows that people with insulin insensitivity are more suitable

 381.
Lose weight with a high-carb diet.

 382.
So if you have been obese for a long time, you know that you eat carbohydrates easily, or you know that you have diabetes in your family and want to lose fat, then I would suggest that you can start by reducing carbohydrates, which is what we call low carb diet!

 413.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

 414.
Mobile Banking is a service provided by a bank or other financial institution that allows its customers to conduct financial transactions remotely using a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

 415.
Electronic Transaction Levy or “E-Levy” is a tax applied on transactions made on electronic or digital platforms.

 416.
ADVANTAGES OF MOBILE BANKING

 417.
Mobile banking offers numerous benefits such as ease of transaction, convenience, time-saving, managing your finances, and budgeting. Some advantages of Mobile Banking in remote areas include:

 418.
Financial Inclusion — mobile banking offers convenient and easy banking services to people in remote areas. Thus, it allows banking on the go and offers all benefits of a banking system to rural areas without the presence of a financial institution.

 419.
Accessing the bank 24/7 — Mobile banking provides ubiquitous banking services without the need to visit the bank to have access to services. This offers time to benefit and ease of transacting at a distance.

 420.
Cost-benefit — Mobile banking saves the banks the cost of building physical infrastructures (branches) and maintaining branches and staff. Also, reduced costs on the customer side since the burden of visiting the bank for services is eliminated.

 421.
Improving resilience in the face of poverty — Mobile money acts as both a savings vehicle and a means of transferring funds during times of economic or environmental shocks.

 422.
Strengthening the formal economy — For many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), opening a mobile money account can facilitate access to formal financial services. Mobile money is well placed to address the issue of informality that blights many developing economies and hampers domestic resource mobilization efforts. Mobile Money enables ease of transacting, thus increasing business profits for MSMEs.

 423.
Facilitating economic growth — Mobile money has been shown to contribute to economic growth by increasing both productivity and per capita incomes

 424.
DISADVANTAGES OF E-LEVY ON MOBILE BANKING

 425.
The design of mobile money taxation policy appears to be the antithesis of a well-designed tax system. The disadvantages include:

 426.
Inequity — Mobile money taxes as currently structured to create inequity in the tax system. As the tax is mostly borne by the poor and users of the services are subject to additional taxation (unlike bank or cash transactions), the principles of both horizontal and vertical equity in the tax system are contravened.

 427.
Uncertainty -. Uncertainty and lack of transparency over taxation systems can have a direct impact on the operations of the tax authority, increasing enforcement costs, as well as discouraging investment.

 428.
Inconvenience — The administration of mobile money transaction taxes creates an inconvenience for MMPs who must calculate and collect the tax on the revenue authority’s behalf. There is an additional inconvenience for users of the service for whom remote digital transactions become more expensive or out of reach if they revert back to cash.

 429.
Inefficiency — Badly designed mobile money taxes have been shown to have a distortionary impact on demand for mobile money services. This in turn has had negative impacts on overall tax takes, as well as impacting the attainment of national economic and development goals.

 430.
EFFECT OF MOBILE BANKING — CASE STUDIES

 431.
The decision to impose taxes on mobile bank transactions will trigger so many problems.

 432.
Ghana — According to The Fourth Estate Ghana; Although the government projects a 24% decline in transactions when the levy is finally implemented, preliminary findings published by the bank of Ghana indicate the value of mobile money transactions had dropped by 3.2 billion in December 2021, less than 2 months after the proposal to introduce E-levy.

 433.
Uganda — An e-levy of 1% introduced in 2018 has led to an overall drop in the person-to-person transaction by more than 50%, and a 24% drop in industry transactions within the same year the tax was introduced according to a report by Global system for mobile communication (GSMA).

 434.
Congo — An e-levy of 1% was introduced in 2019. The government had to reverse the tax on cash outs only due to negative results of the levy on Mobile money users such as a decline in mobile money agents (unemployment) and high-value withdrawals by people.

 435.
Other countries include Benin (5%) and Cameroun (0.2%). In all these countries, the e-levy has imposed a negative effect on the economy and people. If we want to ensure the financial inclusion of people in rural areas, we need to ensure that we encourage mobile banking by withdrawing the e-levy tax.
