31.

Hi All,

Our organization recently underwent a SAP implementation process and currently utilizes the Vehicle Sales Service Dealer Management System (DMS). Initially, a decision was made by management to use internal SAP part numbers without the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN), resulting in most VSS screens not displaying the MPN.

Example:

Considering our company's primary focus on vehicle aftersales, there's a growing need among end-users to display the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) on their screens. This is because item descriptions often lack clarity in identifying the correct part. The MPN serves as an intelligent number, facilitating easier identification. The solution offered by the Application team involves using MB51, but this requires entering each item individually. In a real working environment, this process can be time-consuming.

From the users they have requested to display in the VSS Screens in the below columns.

So; in this case;

Are there any alternative solutions available?

What are the potential outcomes if we proceed with this change request?

Have any other automotive companies experienced similar situations?

  67.

Dear Team ,

We are implementing SAP SAC Planning Model for FTE ( Full time Equivalent ) .

We have to get below fields : Employee employment Data , Position Data , Employee HR positions , Manager positions .

The planning will be done on Position Level . Hence we need to Query on position as root element I am unable to get employee data and matrix relationship data using one Query and seems I will have to do make multiple queries to the SF database . I am new to SAC and I do not understand how will these data imports - ( 3 Queries for Example ) be co- related to fill my Model Dimensions with Data . When I tried to map the fields from different queries I get stuck at the map facts area and it asks me map all the dimensions including measures before i proceed for import .

Looking for support and correct directions .

Thanks in Advance .

<LI-PRODUCT title="SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Human Resources" id="a8945cb2-dac7-490c-a6b6-7d8629f65668"></LI-PRODUCT> #successFactors

  75.

  76.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently developing a mobile app using SAP Build Apps (formerly AppGuyver) for the Zebra TC72 device. The app's primary function is to scan product barcodes to retrieve information. However, I've encountered an issue with the Zebra TC72's optical barcode reader—it behaves like a keyboard and requires an active input field to function.

Ideally, I would like the scan input to directly populate the selected input field without the need for manual intervention. Each page of the app will contain only one input field or none at all.

I'm aware that there are libraries available that include Zebra functionalities in apps. However, I haven't been successful in integrating external tools into SAP Build Apps.

Does anyone have experience or insights on how to directly integrate barcode scanning functionality into SAP Build Apps?

Thank you for your assistance!

  112.

Hello All,

I have seen some posts on the community page about utilizing the "Basic Table with Data Adapter" option to show the data in a tabular format in SAP BUILD apps. But the restriction with this approach is we must use the data variable which is in turn bound to either the BTP destination or is a standalone Odata api.

But in case if we are formulating the data by combining multiple data sources in a javascript file in BUILD apps(which is usually a very common use case), then the data is gathered in page/app variables after combining it from multiple sources. In that case there is no option to bind these page/app variables to these table controls and then we are left with using the "Rows" control and using its "repeat with" property to loop on the page/app variable. But this approach has lot of issues as the UI doesn't look that appealing and you have to manage a lot of things in terms of adjustment of UI.

So is there a better solution being developed for these kind of scenarios?

Regards,

Yogesh

  130.

Data Unleashed Recap

Earlier this month, we launched SAP Data Unleashed on March 6th and here's a quick recap.

1) SAP Datasphere knowledge graph

This capability enables organizations to discover hidden insights and patterns across their applications and systems. And it empowers both technical and business users to deeply understand the relationships between data, metadata, and business processes, as well as boost the effectiveness of machine learning and large language models (LLMs).

2) SAP Datasphere integration with SAP Analytics Cloud

The new SAP Datasphere integration with SAP Analytics Cloud offers a single data management system and advanced analytics to power cross-organizational planning. Planners can leverage a single flexible model to break down silos between planning with one tool for data preparation, modeling, planning, and analytics and to conduct thorough analysis, understand the broader context, and make more informed decisions.

3) SAP Analytics Cloud compass

Business users can use the new SAP Analytics Cloud compass to realize better outcomes in planning and analytics using Monte Carlo simulation. This enables organizations to run complex simulations via a chat interface to predict possible outcomes and find the optimal plan.

4) Generative AI with Joule copilot

We’re bringing the power of generative AI to planning and analytics with SAP Analytics Cloud, which provides AI-generated data exploration, automation of planning and data management tasks, and deep analysis with Joule copilot. This is enabled by vector capabilities in SAP HANA Cloud that combine the powerful capabilities of LLMs with all the relevant data of your organization — ensuring business context is a constant for generative AI outputs.

Start your journey today to bring out your best with SAP data and AI and try SAP Datasphere today .

What announcement are you looking forward to the most?

  139.

Data Brick by Brick: Building a Winning Analytics Strategy with SAP Datasphere, Databricks & Analytics Cloud

In our data-driven era, businesses must have a strong system to handle, analyze, and utilize their expanding information. SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud are a dynamic pair that enable organizations to uncover valuable insights and make well-informed decisions. This blog examines these solutions, exploring their features, capabilities, and how they collaborate to build a comprehensive data environment.

Part 1: SAP Datasphere - The Foundation for Data Harmony

Imagine a business where information from various sources, such as sales figures, customer behavior, and social media trends, are kept in separate areas. SAP Datasphere links this information by acting as a central data hub. It brings together data from SAP and non-SAP applications, creating a single, reliable source of information.

A large retailer uses SAP Datasphere to combine data from its checkout systems, customer loyalty programs, and social media channels. This unified view allows them to identify customer buying patterns, forecast trends, and personalize marketing campaigns for maximum impact.

Features and Components:

Data Integration: This tool seamlessly connects to a wide range of data sources, from traditional databases to cloud storage and real-time data feeds. It makes working with diverse data sources hassle-free.

Data Modeling: The tool transforms raw data into a structured, organized format, making it much easier to analyze and extract insights from.

Data Governance: It ensures the accuracy, consistency, and security of data through defined access controls. This helps maintain data integrity and trust.

Data Spaces: These are collaborative workspaces where users can explore and analyze data together. They facilitate teamwork and shared understanding around the data.

Part 2: SAP Analytics Cloud - Unveiling the Power of Data

SAP Analytics Cloud is a powerful data visualization and analytics tool that sits on top of SAP Datasphere. This cloud-based solution empowers users at all levels to uncover hidden insights, create informative dashboards, and make data-driven decisions.

Key Features and Components:

Self-Service Analytics: The intuitive interface allows users to explore data without needing extensive IT knowledge or support.

Visualizations: Interactive charts, graphs, and maps help users better understand complex data relationships.

Predictive Analytics: Leveraging machine learning, the tool can forecast future trends and identify potential risks.

Business Planning: Users can create scenarios and explore "what-if" situations to optimize their decision-making process.

Overall, SAP Analytics Cloud provides a user-friendly and versatile platform for users to gain valuable insights from their data and make more informed business decisions.

Part 3: Loading Data into SAP Datasphere - Bridging the Gap

There are two main ways to add data to SAP Datasphere:

Databricks: This is a powerful platform built on Apache Spark. It can take in and transform data from various sources before loading it into Datasphere. It's great for handling large, complex datasets.

Legacy Systems: SAP Datasphere offers tools and connectors to pull data from old on-premise systems. This makes it easy to move that data to the cloud-based Datasphere platform.

High-Level Architecture:

Data is obtained from various sources, whether in the cloud or on-premises, using suitable tools.

Databricks can be employed for data cleaning, transformation, and validation purposes.

The prepared data is then loaded into SAP Datasphere.

Finally, SAP Analytics Cloud accesses the data stored in Datasphere to enable analysis and visualization.

Part 4: Live Connection - Streamlining Insights

SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud work hand-in-hand, allowing a direct connection. This means any changes made to the data in Datasphere instantly show up in SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards and reports. This real-time access guarantees users always have the latest information.

Here's how it works:

A direct link is set up between SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.

Data updates in Datasphere automatically sync with SAP Analytics Cloud.

Users in SAP Analytics Cloud can access the most current insights.

Part 5: User Story Reporting - Bringing Data to Life

SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud work perfectly together, creating a live connection. This means any changes made to the data in Datasphere are instantly reflected in the SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards and reports. This real-time access ensures that users always have the latest information.

The high-level architecture is as follows:

A live connection is established between SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.

Data changes in Datasphere are automatically synchronized with SAP Analytics Cloud.

Users in SAP Analytics Cloud have access to the most up-to-date insights.

How Businesses Benefit:

The insights from SAP Analytics Cloud give businesses the confidence to make well-informed decisions. 147.

  148.

Hi everyone,

We have implemented EAPS for one Company code and put it in production system. Now we need to implement it for another Company code with its own CO society. We created a new FM area for this purpose. When we try to assign it to Company code, the system shows the error message FI673 ‘You must not change assignment to company code XXXX’. With this issue I have asked to open a ticket with SAP yet.

Meanwhile, looking for a solution, I deactivated and then activated back Funds Management in IMG activity Public Sector Management -> Funds Management Government -> Basic Settings -> Activate Global Funds Management Functions (PSM-FM).

These actions caused an error FAGL_LEDGER_CUST023 "Define a leading ledger" in FI, that is supposed to be solved with the Note 1867318 - Leading ledger 0L disappears after Funds Management activation.

This note says ‘Once the leading ledger is visible again in customizing, the scenarios will have to be assigned manually. The reason is due to the fact that PSM provides new specific scenarios, and customers need to decide which fields will be used once PSM is active and therefore choose the scenarios that better fits their needs’

I still have not run the report FMGL_CHANGE_APPL_IN_LEDGER, but here are my doubts.

When I had activated Global Funds Management Functions by the first time for the first Company Code, Leading ledger 0L had not disappeared. So, we did not have the option to choose a specific scenario. I was surprised about it but did nothing and that is what we have in productive system.

I suppose that now I ought to assign a new specific scenario for both Company codes.

My question is how will the posted data in productive system be affected by these changes?

Will it create some inconsistencies? Have we to do something more to prevent it?

We are in S4HANA SCORE 101.

Sorry for the large text, but I want to explain well the situation.

Thanks in advance,

Valentyna

  166.

Hello experts,

I already consume an external rest interface in SAP ABAP and use the class "cl_http_client" for this and set up the individual "GET" and "POST" requests as required.

The authentication was previously carried out via Basic-Auth and this connection information (endpoint; username; password) was stored once in the SM59.

QUESTION:
The rest service provider no longer allows basic authentication and wants me to call the service in ABAP using PingIdentity authentication.

I have done a lot of research but have not found anything useful.
I have read that these calls Auth-URL, token retrieval and finally retrieving the access token from PingIdentity server can be handled via SOAUTH (OpenID Connect) in SAP.

Unfortunately, I did not understand the SOAUTH2 transaction at all.

The following information is available to me from PingIdentity:
- AuthorisationURL
- RedirectURL
- TokenAuthURL
- ResponseType
- ResponseMode
- Scope
- CodeChallenge
- ClientID

How should I handle this information in the configuration of OAUTH2?
Is there any documentation on this?

And what do I have to do in the ABAP implementation?
Just query the access token and call the final rest service interface?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards
Etin

  184.

Hello everyone,

This is a legit disappointed/angry post to understand why SAP made everything WORSE in the Appgyver matter.

Starting with this forum, what a strange and confusing experience just to write this post, i was redirected to at least 5 pages, couldn't use my EXISTING SAP account and had to create a new one to access the SAP community but in the end my accounts were linked??????????????? Also the UI here is also very confusing to say the least, after the creation of my account, i had to subscribe in the blog to post something, WHY??????????? Why make everything extreme complicated, exhausting and confusing?

Looks like SAP is making everything as possible to make sure the users migrate to other solutions like Flutterflow, Appgyver was perfect, built BY the community TO the community, it had some bugs but had the BEST feature every company/solution needs: TRANSPARENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!

SAP needs to listen more the community and stop thinking about money, treat the free version seriously because we report, we care and WE help SAP where they need!

After learn that the posts are moderated SAP it self before posted in the community i don't have any hope that this post will be published, this only shows that SAP cares more about the delusional minds of its investors than the users.
