An infant frequent urination could be a sign of abnormality in the infants urine like bacteria, blood or sugar with some also urinating more frequently simply because of intake of a lot of fluids or undergoing stress and anxiety. However it is not advisable to neglect frequent urination that could be due to more serious causes and see a pediatrician immediately to carry on an analysis of the urine and suggest suitable action of treatment if any. It is a well realized fact that professionals can easily diagnose the cause of an infant frequent urinating and take prompt preventive steps to avoid permanent damage to the kidneys due to extreme infective conditions of the urinary tract.

 35.
Some causes of an infant frequent urination

 36.
One of the serious and most embarrassing causes for frequent urination is infection in the urinary tract with bacteria. This is quite common in many infants with some also having pain and burning sensation while urinating. Besides urgency could be felt each time one urinates and sometimes fever and abdominal pain can also be felt. Urinary infection caused by the bacteria E-Coli mostly may show symptoms or not, with a urine analysis and culture being the most common diagnoses of this infection. Urinary tract infection is more common in infants that are girls than boys with treatment being though antibiotics. However many other natural methods like toilet hygiene and drinking a lot of water helps in eliminating the infection.

 37.
It is quite common to find that some children especially infants do not take enough time to empty their bladder and get easily distracted. This may cause the buildup of urine in the bladder with the splinter muscle that helps the infant to hold urine becoming overactive and not assisting complete voiding. This voiding dysfunction could be corrected with encouraging children to try and fully empty their bladder so that urination becomes regular and less frequent.

 38.
It is quite possible that the irritation of the skin in and around the vaginal region or opening of the urethra could cause frequent urination with the main cause being shampoos and soaps that are used for infants. Vulvovaginitis could seem like UTI, with the skin around the vaginal area not only being very sensitive, but also turning easily red and inflamed when irritants like soap and shampoo come in contact with it. Poor toilet hygiene could also be one of the causes that arise out of not cleaning after urinating or wiping in an incorrect way.

 39.
Another prominent cause for infant frequent urination could be diabetes mellitus that affects not just adults but children also with main symptoms like increased amount of urination at closer frequencies accompanied by drinking more water and fluids than infants usually do. Besides polydipsia or increase in fluid consumption there could be excessive eating or polyphagia with weight loss that could be unusual. It is common to note that children suffering from diabetes would in a routine urine analysis show the presence of glucose and ketones, with a blood test confirming it.

 40.
Another uncommon disorder that could cause not only increased urination but also excessive thirst is diabetes insipidus. Along with these symptoms there could be other prominent signs like bedwetting at night, irritability accompanied with poor growth. Care is to be taken as excessive loss of fluids from the body could lead to dehydration. This could show up as dilute urine with excess of sodium and serum in blood. The occurrence of renal tubular acidosis where the infants kidney is not able to properly dispose of acid could also frequency of urination in infants.
41. Look for these causes in infant frequent urination to find out a solution.

They have many different reasons for doing so, and each reason demands a different sort of product. Below are our top reasons to buy insoles and specific recommendations for each concern.

 72.
Plantar Fasciitis / Arch Pain

 73.
If you’re suffering from foot arch pain due to plantar fasciitis or other problems, the answer is often a well-cushioned orthotic arch support. The best choices here are foam orthotic supports that offer either a rigid or semi-rigid footbed. We recommend semi-rigid arch supports for first-time buyers. These deliver a good blend of support, comfort, and flexibility. Rigid orthotic arch supports are ideal for experienced orthotic users who are looking for maximum support. Extra layers of foam are great for alleviating pain as long as you have room for them in your shoes. If your shoes are tight-fitting, try a low-profile insole for compact relief. To learn more about the best insoles for arch pain and plantar fasciitis, check out our Plantar Fasciitis Shoes and Insoles page.

 74.
Over-Pronation

 75.
Pronation is the technical term for the natural tendency of the feet to roll inward when you step forward. When the feet roll too far inward, the result is over-pronation. This may cause foot pain and a lack of stability. An orthotic arch support, either semi or fully-rigid, can help correct over-pronation by keeping the foot properly aligned. The right orthotics deliver support to both the heels and arches, and this will reduce or eliminate over-pronation. We suggest semi-rigid orthotics for first-time users. Rigid orthotic arch supports are best for buyers who are looking for the strongest possible support.

 76.
Extended Standing

 77.
When professional duties or other demands keep you standing for extended periods, you may develop foot pain. One effective solution to this problem is wearing a cushioned arch support for gentle support all day long. Cushioned arch supports reduce pressure on all parts of the foot. Foam insoles are especially good for reducing standing pain. You can find a complete list of insoles that help with pain from standing on our Insoles for Standing page.

 78.
Morton’s Neuroma

 79.
Morton’s Neuroma is a condition that manifests itself through sharp, tingling, or burning pains in the forefoot. The source of the pain is having a nerve in the area that is being compressed or irritated. If you have problems with Morton’s Neuroma, forefoot padding can relieve the pressure being placed on your forefoot. Insoles and inserts that include metatarsal pads can be helpful in this area. Our Morton’s Neuroma page has more details and a complete list of inserts and insoles that can help relieve the pain.

 80.
Metatarsalgia / Pain In The Ball Of The Foot

 81.
If you’re experiencing pain in your forefoot from metatarsalgia or similar conditions, try an insole that includes good top-coat cushioning and a metatarsal pad. Cushioned arch supports often fit the bill. We find many customers can also benefit from added support. In these cases, a semi-rigid or rigid support can help. To relieve pain in the balls of your feet and pain caused by metatarsalgia, see the full insole list on our Metatarsal Insoles & Inserts page.

 82.
Morton’s Toe / Hallux Rigidus / Hallux Limitus

 83.
Morton’s Toe and the Hallux conditions (Rigidus and Limitus) can cause pain through unwanted toe flexing. You may find a stiff insole that prevents toe flexing to be very helpful. Most shoes have flexible toe-boxes that allow unwanted flexing. The right insoles can significantly reduce the amount of flex allowed or even eliminate it entirely. We’ve highlighted flex-reducing products that work with your existing insoles on our page for Morton’s Toe, Hallux Rigidus, and Hallux Limitus.

 84.
Supination

 85.
Supination is also known as under-pronation. It happens when your feet roll too far outward when you walk. The foot’s natural tendency is to roll inward slightly with each step. An outward roll of the foot can produce discomfort and/or pain. You can stop supination by using a semi-rigid or rigid orthotic arch support. These orthotics deliver constant support to preserve healthy foot alignment. Orthotic arch supports correct supination by delivering support to both the heels and the arches. This discourages supination. First-time orthotic wearers should start with a semi-rigid orthotic. Fully rigid orthotic arch supports are suitable for those who need the most aggressive levels of arch support.

 86.
Running / Walking / Shin Splints

 87.
People who experience shin splints or those who do significant amounts of running and walking need insoles that can handle support, flexibility, and shock absorption. Cushioned arch supports and semi-rigid orthotic arch supports can both do the job. Insole construction matters a great deal here. You need either an all-gel product or one that has significant gel padding on both the forefoot and the heel. An appropriate support insole will deliver the flexibility you need for varied activity. The insole’s gel material works to absorb impact shocks and prevent fatigue damage to the knees and feet. See our Walking & Running Insoles page for a range of specific products suitable for use in these situations.

 88.
Diabetes / Arthritis

 89.
Diabetes and arthritis sufferers need insoles designed to safeguard their feet. The right insoles will not only cushion the everyday shocks your feet are subjected to but also encourage healthy circulation and feature maximum comfort. In order to address the specific features needed in a good diabetic or arthritic insole, we’ve listed all of the suitable products separately on our Diabetic and Arthritic Insoles page.

 90.
Heel Spurs / Heel Pain

 91.
If you have heel pain arising from heel spurs or other conditions, the right insole for you is one that delivers lots of cushioning on the heel of the foot. Many products match this description, including both full-length and 3/4-length insoles. There are even heel insert pieces that can relieve heel pain. To learn more, review the products listed on our page on Insoles and Inserts for Heel Spurs and Heel Pain.

Therefore, it is a good idea for those with mobility restrictions to consider installing a stair lift to help them access any room in their house without any difficulty. Having said that, here are the major reasons why it is good to have a stair lift in your home:

 122.
Provides freedom

 123.
People with disabilities and seniors are usually forced to relocate when mobility becomes a challenge. The good news is that they don’t have to relocate due to mobility challenges as a stair lift can enable them to use their house the way they want to without any mobility challenges.

 124.
Promotes safety

 125.
Stair lifts often enable mechanical transporting up and down staircases. The chair has a safety buckle that ensures that the person using it is fastened in during the movement up and down staircases.

 126.
In addition, many stair lifts have built-in safety features that prevent operation in case the device is obstructed by anything on the stairs or in case the footrest, seat or armrests are not properly positioned. A stair lift also comes with a lock switch that helps prevent anyone else from using the chair, especially children.

 127.
A stair lift is very comfortable

 128.
This is because of the fact that a stair lift armrests and seat are adjustable and padded. Its footrest can also be easily adjusted hence enabling a user to easily adjust it to his or her desired height.

 129.
Enables the user to fully access his or her staircase

 130.
Most of the stair lifts don’t block access to the rest of the staircase as they have slim profiles. The footrest and the chair usually fold away meaning that it won’t hinder other people who would like to access the stairs.

 131.
A stair lift is easy to use

 132.
Modern stair lifts can be easily controlled by a toggle found on the armrest. Most of them also have a remote control handset hence enabling its user to call the stair lift from the bottom or top of the stairs when necessary.

 133.
A stair lift is also ready to use at any time as it charges when it is in the park position. And the good news is that it can be used even when there is power loss as every stair lift comes with a built-in battery backup system according to this Brook Miller stair lift guide.

 134.
Custom ordered

 135.
Before installing a stair lift, the installer first evaluates the length and angle of a staircase so that the custom rail that will be ordered will be specifically designed for the stairs and also promote safe access on and off the stair lift depending on the ability to transfer onto the chair.

 136.
The transfer can be made safer for a stair lift user by adding additional bends and “parks”. Installing a stair lift is easy and quick and doesn’t need any changes to the interior of a home.

 167.
One of the best things you can do for yourself, especially if you have trouble sleeping, is to start a healthy and relaxing routine. For example, about 10 minutes before crawling in, dim the lights and do things that typically help you relax. From putting on soothing music to drinking a glass of warm milk, get your body in the “mood” for sleeping.

 168.
Krieger also says that it’s about the time you take to unwind your mind and to take a minute and slow down the hectic pace of modern life. So, instead of working towards a breaking point, take 10 or 20 minutes to simply slow down. This will help you have a better quality sleep in your Sleepys mattress.

 169.
2. Rid The Room Of Electronics

 170.
You might not realize it, but the phone or laptop that’s only a few feet away can actually disrupt your sleeping patterns. For example, if you are expecting a text or email, and you take these gadgets to the bedroom, your mind will not shut down until that message comes through.

 171.
As tough as it may sound, keep all electronics in another room while you sleep. You’ll be happy you do it after a couple of days.

 172.
3. Keep A Diary

 173.
Writing in a diary before going to bed is beneficial in many ways. And while you typically associate it with psychological benefits, the fact that you are writing down the thoughts that keep your mind awake is like telling your mind to relax a little. Everything is written down to handle another day.

 174.
You can even use a blank piece of paper that you keep by the nightstand. And if you don’t like writing too much, go for bullet points and only take down the most important worries keeping you up.

 175.
4. Don’t Look Down

 176.
Everyone knows the phrase, “Don’t look down”, and it’s usually said while climbing great heights. In this case, you don’t want to think about falling asleep, while trying to fall asleep. This will cause you to focus, and focus calls for attention. You can’t sleep when you are paying attention to something.

 177.
Instead, let your mind wander and let happy thoughts stick around. Forget about sleeping as you linger on these thoughts and just let them run past like a movie. Of course, this is a technique that can take some time, but once you understand it, you won’t have any problems falling asleep.

 178.
5. Stick To A Schedule

 179.
The body is connected to an internal clock, referred to as the body’s circadian rhythm. Basically, when the sun comes up, the body feels more energized and ready to work. When it gets dark, the body begins to relax and prepare for sleep.

 180.
And just like your body follows a specific clock, you should too. In other words, get a specific time you want to be in bed every night, and get a specific time for waking up. Also, make sure you get at least 7 to 8 hours of solid rest. And yes, even on Saturdays and Sundays, stick to the schedule.

While they are nice to look at, is this something you really want to have in your home? We are going to look at some of the reasons you may want to reconsider making this type of purchase.

 211.
A Distraction

 212.
We have to admit that the sound of flowing water does help, you down and reduce stress. It is a very relaxing sound two-year in the background. However, how long would you be comfortable hearing this noise for? Indoor fountains make a constant noise as the water is always recycling and never-ending. If you work from home or have homework, the sound may actually make you lose your concentration. In addition, if you are an individual who is easily distracted you may become mesmerized with the moving water and not get any work done.

 213.
Moisture

 214.
An indoor fountain is going to release of aberration into the air of your home. Now, depending upon where you live this may be a good thing or a bad thing. If you happen to live in a humid area, the atmosphere in your home is going to become rather uncomfortable. In fact, the humidity levels may become so high that you need to use a dehumidifier to remove all of the moisture in the air.

 215.

 216.
Safety Concerns

 217.
The vast majority of indoor fountains are quite safe according to Luxe Water Walls. However, even when you are as careful as can be accidents can still happen. Having a large full of water in the home can be dangerous to children and pets. Either may become curious and place their heads into the pool. In addition, larger indoor fountains are rather heavy once they have been filled with water. If the fountain is lifted and falls on an individual it could cause serious harm.

 218.
Leaks

 219.
One of the biggest risks of owning an indoor fountain is its ability to spring a leak. If too much water is placed into the basin, it may splash out and create a wet floor. Or, the basin could crack and not be able to contain the water within it. In either case, this can create serious conditions in the house. If too much water spills out of the fountain the floor may get ruined. Or, if the situation goes unnoticed for an extended period of time the foundation could be damaged. If you have a basement, the water could be down and room possessions that are being stored.

 220.
There is no question that owning an indoor fountain can be great. Many people do not feel that the noise is distracting at all and they take precautions against safety and leak issues. However, one still should seriously consider these issues before they purchase a fountain. You do not want to put that much money out on an indoor fountain only to find some unexpected surprises that you do not like. Being informed and researching the product you want to buy is essential. If you do plan on purchasing a fountain, be sure it is a high quality.

In addition to giving you an opportunity to grow your crops, this exercise packs many health benefits for the gardener. Whether gardening in the backyard vegetable garden, a small patio planter, or in a community garden somewhere, the interactive health and healing benefits are remarkable. This could be the reason why more and more gardens are cropping up in hospitals, prisons, community centers for the homeless, nursing homes, and at-risk youth centers. Gardening brings out the deep sense of well-being and connection to nature, and especially when pruning and weeding. Outlined below are some of the health benefits you get from gardening.

 251.

 252.
1. It Helps Boost Your Self-Esteem While Relieving Stress

 253.
According to a study conducted in the Netherlands on the effects of gardening on one’s health, researchers were able to determine that gardening helps lower a person’s stress levels. The study was conducted on a group of students who would garden for at least 30 minutes in a day, while the other group would remain indoors studying. Add a water feature for even more impact, see this guidebook on outdoor fountains for details. From the study, the gardening students recorded better moods and had significantly lower levels of Cortisol (a stress hormone) as compared to those studying indoors. From the study, the researchers were also able to confirm that elevated cortisol levels (chronic) can lead to certain health conditions such as heart disease, cognitive problems, memory loss, obesity, and low immunity. Gardening also helps boost a person’s self-esteem as the results are tangible.

 254.
2. Improves Heart Health Hence Reduced Risk Of Stroke

 255.
Gardening can be labor-intensive at times. The need to move around while weeding, watering plants or pruning gives you at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity exercise in a week. Unlike a treadmill where you only workout with the machine, gardening lets you engage with nature, making you engage almost all muscles of the body. The moderate-intensity exercise you get from gardening helps burn excess fats from the arteries which again keeps your heart in check. Seniors who engage in gardening activities also get more exercise hence have a reduced risk of stroke as compared to those that don’t. Exposing your limbs to just 10 minutes of sunshine (while gardening) every day gives your body enough Vitamin D, which also helps reduce the risk of various cancers, osteoporosis, and heart disease.

 256.
Regular exercise is particularly crucial and especially where your heart health is an issue. Gardening gives you an opportunity to exercise without pushing your body too far. You even get to enjoy the fruits during the harvesting time. In addition to this, gardening lets your mind wander away from daily stresses of life. Leading a sedentary life only hurts your health.

 257.
3. Dexterity and Hand Strength

 258.
While we may blame it on age, lack of regular exercise is one of the causes of diminishing hand strength and dexterity. Gardening however enables you to keep working those hand muscles, thus making it possible to tackle possible yet pleasurable activities. This can be confirmed by physiotherapists who recommend gardening and other lightweight activities for stroke patients in rehabilitation programs. The best thing with gardening is that you can never push your body beyond what you can do, neither do you strain your tendons. Those with tendonitis, repetitive stress injuries and the carpal tunnel should, however, consider doing a few warm-ups before taking on gardening. Warm-ups help position your body ergonomically and comfortably for the changing tasks while gardening, which again reduces strain on the same. Although it may seem like a simple exercise, gardening does help maintain your hand strength and cognitive functions as well.

 259.
4. Improved Brain Health

 260.
According to research, gardening daily reduces the risk of contracting brain-related conditions, and especially dementia by up to 36%. This is according to a long-term study conducted on 3000 adults over a period of 16 years. From the study, active gardeners from the group showed a remarkable reduction in the incidence of dementia by up to 36%. Although other conditions such as Alzheimer’s may be poorly understood, the researchers believe being active in gardening can help the severity of the condition. This is mainly due to the fact that it helps boost most of our critical functions including problem-solving, endurance, learning, dexterity, strength, and sensory awareness.

 261.
5. Immune Regulation

 262.
Working in the garden, even for 30 minutes in a day, gives your body enough exposure to get vitamin D. vitamin D is essentially needed for proper functioning of cells, and improved immunity as well. Although you may not have noticed this, individuals who take care of their gardens, interact with nature and even get dirty weeding their gardens are less vulnerable to common colds and flu. This is because they are exposed to Mycobacterium vaccae, a soil bacteria commonly absorbed by vegetables. This bacteria helps alleviate symptoms of psoriasis, asthma and common forms of allergies. Just like the good bacteria found in the gut, mycobacterium is good to the body as it contributes greatly to improved immune response and alleviates depression.

 263.
6. Mental Health and Depression

 264.
For many people, gardening in the morning or late in the evening gives one a ‘lift’ they never experience doing anything else. Breaking the morning sweat in the garden tending to radishes, lettuces, and spinach gives your mind an extra boost, which not only helps more blood flow into the brain but also stimulates cognitive functions. The other good thing with gardening in the morning is that the morning sweat calls for a warm hot bath or sauna, which also helps elevate your body temperature. This could be refreshing and especially if you had a busy day previously. In addition to this, many people find themselves drinking some water in the morning just before heading to work. Gardening in the morning and drinking water in the morning kick starts your day in a good mood which lasts the entire day. Starting your day with positivity means you get to tackle stressing moments with ease, which also reduces depression and stress in the workplace. If you haven’t started gardening yet, you could start with a small flower garden then take it from there. You will be surprised at the numerous benefits this has.

 295.
1) Shun The Sun

 296.
The sun is one of your biggest enemies in the battle to preserve the glow of youth. Always use sunscreen when you’re outdoors. Make sure your product of choice has an SPF rating of at least 30 and provides full spectrum (both UVA and UVB) protection. Remind yourself that UV rays are shining down no matter how sunny or cloudy a day might be; you need sunscreen on darker days too. When you’re outside for extended lengths of time, remember to reapply your sunscreen regularly to maintain full protection.

 297.
Up to 90 percent of the visible signs of aging can be ascribed to ultraviolet sun exposure. UV rays (UVA and UVB) break down the elastin in the skin and render it dull and saggy. Sun exposure causes wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and age spots. These forms of damage develop over many years, so it’s vitally important to start protecting yourself early.

 298.
2) Up The Number Of Vegetables In Your Diet

 299.
The foundation of a healthy diet that promotes a youthful appearance has to be fruits and vegetables. While lean protein and whole grains are important too, plants have to be the foundation. The range of core nutrients provided by vegetables and fruits are vital to healthy aging. The phytonutrients in vegetables can also help protect you from free radicals that cause premature signs of aging.

 300.

 301.
3) Always Stay Hydrated

 302.
What’s the simplest thing you can do to promote the look of youth? Boost your water intake! Your skin will look better and your overall wellbeing will improve if you make sure you get six to eight glasses of filtered water every day.

 303.
Dehydration wreaks havoc on your skin, making it dry and wrinkled. Ample amounts of water make it easier for your skin cells and underlying tissues to replenish themselves. The result is younger, healthier-looking skin.

 304.
4) Get More Exercise

 305.
You have to make space in your daily schedule for vigorous physical activity. The latest research shows that strenuous exercise (like high-intensity interval training, for example) can slow down the aging process – at the cellular level! – by as much as 10 years. Hard exercise promotes better blood flow, carrying more nutrients and oxygen to the body’s cells. Skin cells are of course included in this invigorating process.

 306.
Exercise has deeper health benefits as well, of course. It maintains strength and muscle mass and even boosts the areas of the brain responsible for coordination and motor control. Exercise can reduce the unwanted effects of menopause and boost brain functions like memory, too!

 307.
5) Steer Clear Of Tobacco

 308.
Smoking is a huge accelerator for the least pleasant parts of the aging process, and one of the most easily avoidable. If you want to preserve your youthful looks as long as possible, ditch your tobacco habit.

 309.
Because cigarettes and other forms of tobacco inhibit the body’s supply of vitamin C, they end up accelerating the formation of wrinkles and the breakdown of collagen in the skin. Smoking also leaches moisture from the skin, making your complexion dry and dull. The simple mechanics of smoking also cause avoidable wrinkles around the mouth.

 310.
6) Moderate Your Alcohol & Caffeine Usage

 311.
A moderate alcohol intake can actually boost your health, but indulging to excess can turn into a negative instead of a positive.

 312.
Both alcohol and caffeine can interfere with your body’s natural acquisition of vital nutrients and water. Excessive alcohol use can cause permanent dilation of the blood vessels in the face. The result is an undesirable flush and spidery veins that make it harder than it needs to be to maintain a youthful look.

 313.
7) Meditation

 314.
An outdoor meditation area can be a lovely addition to the home and help you stay healthy in numerous ways. Adding some nice additions such as this water feature from Outdoor Fountain Pros could be a notable help.

 315.

 316.
8) Use The Right Supplements

 317.
There is a wide range of different factors that cause and accelerate the appearance of aging effects on your skin. A healthy diet (see above) is vital to minimizing these effects, but you can also bridge nutritional gaps with carefully-chosen supplements to slow down the impact of aging as much as possible.

 318.
Good supplementation can also help you feel younger internally. The right supplements can keep your mood elevated, give you more energy, and strengthen your immune system.

 319.
9) Enlist Expert Help

 320.
Aging presents us with plenty of facial challenges. The loss of bone density, muscle, and fat make wrinkles and lines easier to see. Frown lines can be built up by repetitive facial expressions, and long-term damage like acne scarring, broken capillaries, and hyperpigmentation can become more prominent. Consult with a professional to explore non-invasive treatments for maintaining and restoring your youthful looks.

 321.
10) Consider Reasonable Procedures

 322.
Under ideal conditions, healthy living is reflected in a healthy appearance. Sometimes factors beyond our control (from genetics to injuries) rob us of this reward for taking care of ourselves. Don’t be afraid to explore more intensive options that can improve your looks and your self-image.

 323.
If you’re considering an aesthetic procedure, you can learn a lot about your options by exploring surgeons’ professional organizations. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery can all educate you and help you find reliable, board-certified professionals.

 354.
Sleep apnea is a dangerous one as it is capable of resulting in death due to stroke or heart attack and hence it is important that the snoring person should get the reason for snoring diagnosed immediately and takes appropriate treatment.

 355.
All snoring need not necessarily indicate sleep apnea and a normal snorer may make loud noises where as the person with sleep apnea will tend to snore and he/she may also experience stoppage in their breathing momentarily and these persons will wake up with bated breathing and fall back to sleep again without being conscious about it.

 356.
Understanding Sleep Apnea with its Snoring Symptoms

 357.
The snoring pattern in a person who suffers from sleep apnea will be different and marked than that of any other normal snoring. Persons who suffer from sleep apnea will experience regular stoppage of breathing during their sleep, and they will wake up with gasping or with a bated breath. Due to stoppage of breathing for a momentary period, the person will tend to breathe stronger to fill the lungs with air and this will result in a louder snoring.

 358.
Though the persons with sleep apnea may sleep the whole night, they will feel drowsy in the morning and normally wake up with headache. They may also get sore throat and dry mouth feeling besides memory loss and learning difficulties.

 359.
Sleep apnea is categorized into three types and they are obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, and mixed sleep apnea. Though you need note relate all snoring to sleep apnea when it comes to treating, the methods may be same or similar for treating both snoring and sleep apnea.
From time immemorial snoring as a problem is known to mankind and snoring may indicate other underlying medical conditions such as sleep apnea.

 360.
During sleep, the breathed in air will vibrate the soft palate tissues and this vibration is heard as snoring outside. There are many methods of treatment for curing snoring and the techniques include change in behaviour or lifestyle changes, weight reduction, using few specific dental devices, medication, use of nasal strips and even surgical intervention. With the advent of many scientific and advanced nano technology, treating snoring and sleep apnea has become easy today.

 361.
Out of the various reasons, alcohol consumption or use of sedatives is also said to be instrumental in triggering snoring and hence it is advised that you can avoid consuming alcohol and preferably before going to bed. Further, efforts to reduce your body weight, use of nasal CPAP can also help you to avoid snoring during your sleep.

 362.
With regard to surgical intervention few techniques such as diathermy palatal reduction, or surgical straightening of the septum, or removal of tonsils and/or enlarged adenoids is also very effective in treating both sleep apnea and snoring in a person. A recent addition to the treatment method is the snoreplasty in which sclerosing agents will be administered into the palate area of the snoring person and this will help the person to stop snoring.

 363.
When it comes to finding an effective treatment for snoring and sleep apnea, then there may not be any one single treatment but you can try more than one treatment in a combination and you are sure to get relieved from your snoring habit and sleep apnea problem.

 394.
Women always find consolation and reap knowledge by talking to other women about their difficulties and other health related concerns. Young girls look to their mothers and grandmothers for details and guidance regarding their gender related ailments and discomforts.

 395.
However, when they grow up, they will not change and they still look for someone who can understand them and guide them properly as their mother and grandmother did. Hence, women will be in need of some kind of assistance all through their life and all cannot fulfill such needs.

 396.
What Constitutes a Women’s Health Care Group

 397.
A women’s health could be a group of persons formed for some specific purpose and the group members may constitute health specialists, doctors, nurses, etc., from a particular area.

 398.
It has to be understood that the main idea of forming a women’s health care group constituting various medical professionals is primarily to deal with women’s health related issues only.

 399.
For example, the visiting woman patient should be able get her mammogram and the gynecological related appointments fulfilled on a single day and from the same place.

 400.
Further, the care group should be in a position to cater to the needs of any primary care also by duly constituting some physicians exclusively for this purpose.

 401.
In the place of any general clinic, the specialized women’s health care group will be more preferable for the reason that the women will be able to get their multiple needs fulfilled in a single day and in the same place without the need to run helter-skelter for appointments.

 402.
In any general health centers, the attending primary care physician will in turn refer the patient to other physicians or experts and where as in a women’s health care group you stand to get all services under one roof.

 403.
The greatest advantage of any women’s health care group is that all women can get an individualized attention with a friendly disposition. The nurses attending on you, being females by themselves, are friendly and you need not carry any reservations during check ups, especially during any of your gynecological examinations.

 404.
However, do not carry the mistaken notion that all women’s health care group will have only female doctors and attendants. There are male doctors working in a women’s health care group as well for attending to any of the general health related complications.

 405.
When there are many such women’s health care groups in your locality then you may find it difficult to identify the best one for your needs. Talk to your neighbors, or family members, or friends and find out the specific group that can match to your expectations.

 406.
There are other ways such as finding details from Internet and you are sure to find one that can exactly match to your needs and expectations in your locality itself.

Today, snoring is no more the men s problem and it is slowly catching up with women too for various reasons.

 437.
Snoring is one of the widely discussed and researched subjects, as snoring is an indication of some underlying health related issue such as obstructive sleep apnea. Persons afflicted with sleep apnea will have their throat airway blocked and hence the additional pressure exerted to breathe normally will result in snoring.

 438.
Further, these persons during their sleep will have their breathing stopped momentarily and this will make them to wake up and take few deep breathing to compensate the oxygen loss and they will fall asleep again without even being conscious about their acts.

 439.
This cycle will get repeated for many times in a single night and the person will be robbed of a peaceful sleep and the chances of getting strokes or heart attacks are also bright for such persons. When it comes to sleep apnea, both men and women doesn t make any difference and both are equally susceptible to get afflicted.

 440.
In one of the voluntary study conducted with 7000 women in an age group of 20 to 70 years, it was found that snoring is widespread in all age groups and specifically the concentration of snoring women was more in the above 50 age group who have got a higher body mass index.

 441.
Studying Snoring Patterns in Women is Important for Women s Health

 442.
Snoring is an outcome of vibration of the soft palate tissues present on the upper portion of throat. The overly relaxed soft palate tissues will tend to fall back into the throat area thus blocking a free airway.

 443.
Hence the woman with a blocked airway will struggle to breathe normally and in the process the palate tissues will vibrate and produce snoring. Further, the woman will also wake up at frequent intervals to catch up with the lost breathing and in the process lose the peaceful sleep. It is normal for any woman who loses a peaceful sleep in the night to become irritated and feel daytime drowsiness and lack in concentration.

 444.
A snoring person, irrespective of gender, should get the reasons for snoring properly diagnosed through a medical professional or at least in a sleep center and then take necessary treatments for stopping snoring.

 445.
Snoring by itself is not an ailment, but may be an indication of other possible health issues and hence it is necessary for the snoring woman to get her snoring diagnosed properly. Further, women with a higher body mass index tend to snore more than their lesser weighing counterparts, and women with diabetes are commonly found to be afflicted with sleep apnea too.

 446.
With women overtaking men in all areas, probably in another one or two decades the percentage of snoring women will overtake the men s percentage and for women it is a case for concern and not the case for jubilation.

Women, during their entire life cycle, face very many changes in their body and hence need to learn to adapt to the inevitable changes.

 477.
Know Your Physiology

 478.
As a woman, you should start your journey of knowledge from your home first. To start with, you can start enquiring your mother, a fully conversant lady in majority of women’s health related aspects, and you can get a major number of your doubts clarified.

 479.
As a mother, you can also initiate the conversation or the knowledge process and educate your children on the finer aspects of women’s health care by telling the various cycles in a woman’s life such as menstrual cycle, pregnancy, etc.

 480.
Though certain women related issues are discussed or studied at school, they are mostly taught from an academic point of view and mainly concentrates on matters such as reproduction system and sexual organs only. In order to gain further knowledge, most of the girls turn to their mother for knowing more intrinsic and embarrassing details related to women’s health care.

 481.
Understand Hormonal Imbalances

 482.
Many hormones control the entire women’s life cycle at each and every stage. For instance, girls start with menstrual cycle once they attain puberty, which is noting but a change in hormonal levels, pregnancy where a complex hormonal levels control the fetus growth and menopause, which is again a change in hormonal levels.

 483.
Any hormonal imbalance in a woman’s body can precipitate as big health issues and can symptomatically be recognized through depression and mood swings. For all the women’s health related risks and care, only a good knowledge and awareness alone could be an answer and such knowledge alone can confer the women with the necessary mindset to tackle the situation.

 484.
Assistive Tips

 485.
Unlike in the past, today’s women’s health care has come a long way and you can find all the necessary information from your doctor, or from your women’s health care professional, or from various web sites. Many women depend on their doctors for getting the knowledge while few others prefer to refer to web sites for information.

 486.
Self-medication is very dangerous and hence you should always resort to contacting your doctor for any of your gender-related health issues without fail. It is very pertinent to say here that many women who have resorted to self-medication ended up with more untreatable or incurable complications. Hence, it is important for you to know more about your body and understand the implications in its real sense.

 487.
You should never miss your regular visit to your doctor so as maintain a good health all through your life.

 559.

Fig. 59. Heart or anginal pain (in shaded region) is variable, generally left-sided, also in the left arm. Pain distribution is due to nerve arrangements to and from the heart region. Pain in the left arm is, therefore, usually more significant than pain in the right arm.

 560.
marked by increasing shortness of breath, pressure in the chest and a frequent flip-flopping sensation of the heart. Water logging of the body may be noticeable as heart failure begins and body water begins gravitating down into the lower legs. Normal size legs in the morning then become considerably swollen by evening.

 561.
Caused by diseases which greatly weaken the heart muscle, heart failure is often a result of childhood rheumatic fever, or in later years, arteriosclerosis of the heart arteries themselves. The physician can markedly strengthen the weakened heart with digitalis-like drugs, and other drugs effective in combating the heart failure, to promote a stronger normal heart function.

 562.
Heart Attack (Coronary Occlusion, A Coronary). Heart attack means a sudden block of a coronary (heart) artery by a blood clot stopping the blood flow to a quickly damaged portion of the heart muscle. If this damage is slight, it might even go unnoticed, but if damage to the heart is severe, it is likely to stop beating, with death following quickly. It is apparent that there are many degrees of severity in heart attacks.

 563.
The pain in the chest can be excruciating, causing nausea, weakness, pallor and perspiration similar to extreme exhaustion, and the patient may collapse. A heart attack is nearly always suspected, but cannot be known with accuracy until an electrocardiogram has been taken. Possible candidates for heart attack are the fifty-year-old (and younger) individuals, including those who have never known any discomforts or disease. Most vulnerable of all is the person with already existing heart disease who must take extra precaution to spare his heart, and promote as strong and healthy a heart muscle as possible.

 564.
The person who dies a few moments after his heart attack could not benefit from any known treatment, but for those who live through the early attack, the physician, with marvelous drugs, can greatly magnify chances of survival. A yearly check-up of the heart condition in all people of fifty years is necessary for sane regard of good health.

Although it is seen at much younger ages, of our 60,000,000 citizens at this age, more than one in every ten has a blood pressure problem and women outnumber the men two to one. It is fact that more people die partly or directly because of high blood pressure than all types of cancers combined.

 597.

Fig. 60. Blood pressure in an artery is similar to water pressure in a hose. It is measured by the amount of weight necessary to stop the flow by squeezing the artery shut-exactly like stepping on a hose to shut off the water.

 598.
An understanding of blood pressure is basically simple. It is the pressure from the heart necessary to drive blood through our blood vessels and it varies with conditions such as work or rest. We recognize a high and low pressure of a wave corresponding to each heart beat and we determine what is normal pressure from the average of many thousands of people.

 599.
Experience teaches us that blood pressure much higher than normal frequently results in a limitation of body activity through easy fatigue, poor endurance and lack of a healthy reserve. There are, of course, many other difficulties resulting from high blood pressure, including headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, palpitation and kidney disease. Also in the background of high blood pressure disease hover the spectres of stroke and heart failure.

 600.

Fig. 61. The size of the heart and large arteries may be greatly enlarged with high blood pressure. The normal heart weight of 300 grams can enlarge to 1000 grams. When pressure rises too high some arteries may burst, and in the brain this is called a stroke. Nearly half of all definite stroke victims die within two weeks.

 601.
The cause of elevated blood pressure for about one-fifth of all cases is from known disease such as arteriosclerosis, adrenal gland difficulty and thyroid disease. Most high blood pressure however, is called essential hypertension, because the cause is yet to be discovered.

 602.

Fig. 62. The evidence points heavily to salt as an important factor in high blood pressure. Although its exact role is unknown, the hypersensitive patient often does much better when salt is cut down in the diet.

 603.
The treatment of high blood pressure consists principally in the physician’s guidance in diet restriction, weight determination, drug therapy and continual observation. In no other medical disease is the close cooperation between doctor and patient so richly rewarded as in the treatment of high blood pressure. Like the fitting of shoes, the physician must guide the blood pressure patient into a practical, effective and tolerable manner of treatment, which the patient will accept and carry on from day to day for complete control of this most significant disease.

 635.
They are usually found in the scalp, back or scrotum, and are definitely not cancerous; however, they may become infected, and develop into a rapidly growing boil-like process. 636.
Lipoma

 637.
Lipomas are soft growths of fat just under the skin, occurring most often on the trunk, neck, arms, and armpits. They vary in size from a pea to an orange, and are usually painless, soft and easily compressed between the fingers.

 638.
A lipoma is not cancerous in nature, but sometimes it is confused with cancerous growths which also may be present just under the skin. Because of this confusion and because of their cosmetic appearance, they usually are removed in a very simple surgical operation.

 668.

Skin Cancer

 669.
Cancer of the skin is very common after the age of fifty. It appears in several forms, is usually painless and may grow rapidly or slowly, but characteristically it never heals of its own accord. The most common skin cancer, termed epithelioma, begins slowly as a small pearl of skin which enlarges but eventually ulcerates at its center to finally take the appearance of a small moon-like crater. It becomes covered over with a crust, and seems to be healing, but the crust eventually comes off to expose once again a raw surface underneath. The epithelioma usually grows very slowly, and painlessly. It develops most often on the face, hands and exposed skin surfaces and is thought at least partially, caused by sunlight. Other substances, however, are equally suspected, especially when they occur about the lips and inside of the mouth.

 670.
Another skin cancer, called a melanoma, often develops from the bluish-black mole. It is a rapid, vicious and very fast-growing cancer, and unless totally removed in its earliest stages, spreads widely throughout the body to eventually cause death. Such skin cancer, fortunately, is very rare. All forms of skin cancer, have one characteristic in common, they never completely heal. Therefore, any skin bleeding, discoloration or enlargement which does not heal promptly, should be examined by the physician, especially after the age of fifty when skin cancer is more common. Also, as a preventive measure, pigmented moles in the region of frequent irritation should be removed before they can get into trouble. Such regions include the sole of the foot, the palm of the hand, the waistline and the shaving area of the face.

 671.
Fortunately, most skin cancers do not spread rapidly and are not difficult to cure. While they are definitely undesirable, skin cancers have the decided advantage of being readily seen, where they can be treated at an early stage. Skin cancers, like any malignancy, must be adequately treated by complete removal or destruction, but unfortunately they are sometimes allowed to grow to a size of several inches or more over long periods in the hope that a worthless salve will someday, somehow heal it. The only effective treatment of skin cancer is in the hands of the physician and it consists of surgery or x-ray therapy exclusively.

 702.
Contrary to popular belief, improperly focusing eyes, in need of glasses for correct refraction, do not often cause headaches. It is true that headaches may result from some eye diseases, but the widespread belief that many recurring headaches are preveritable with glasses, is incorrect. In the absence of obvious eye disease, such as redness, soreness, infection or injury, only a few eye diseases such as glaucoma remain to cause headaches. However, because of these rare possibilities, a person with unexplained headaches should always have the benefit of an eye examination to settle any doubt.

 703.
Glaucoma headache

 704.
Glaucoma headache, beginning about the eyes and spreading into a general headache, is very serious and can be very painful. Glaucoma eye pain is caused by an increase in pressure in the eyeball itself and is serious, not because of pain, but because blindness may follow unless the condition is corrected. Glaucoma, rarely found under the age of thirty-five, increases greatly after the age of forty-five. It appears to be an inherited disease and occurs in families with several members possibly having this same trouble. The inherited factors, however, may be contained in our emotional make-up, because people who develop glaucoma also have easily excitable emotions, often a family trait.

 705.
As in so many other headaches, glaucoma and its head pain, often results from a disagreeable mental experience, such as frustration, fear, resentment, etc. In this headache, the pain is excruciating and the eye itself feels hard to the touch. Chronic or long-standing glaucoma presents a similar picture but the pain is not so severe. A dull aching is present over the eyes, and in susceptible people this leads to headache of variable degree.

 706.
Sinus headache

 707.
Sinus inflammation is often thought to be the cause of frequent recurring headaches, but this is only rarely correct. Less than one headache out of twenty can be traced to sinus difficulties.
Sinus headaches usually begin with a fast developing infection in one or more sinuses, such as might follow a sudden severe cold. They are usually accompanied by a clogged nose, and a localized soreness over the sinus involved. The pain of sinus difficulty grows suddenly much worse when the surrounding air pressure is lessened or increased greatly. Thus rapid ascent or descent in airplanes or tall building elevators, may bring about excruciating pain.
Application of heat to the face, and aspirin have long been the relief of sinus sufferers but correction of certain nose difficulties by a physician often ends the sinus difficulty permanently.

It is also true, however, that nearly all people with brain tumors, brain abscesses, cysts or brain blood clots will have headaches of varying degree.

 738.
The pain of an expanding growth within the skull is due to an increase of pressure which stretches and distorts blood vessels in the brain covering. As previously seen, these are the only structures within the head capable of feeling pain. Brain tumor headache has no distinguishing mark about it.

 739.
It appears at no regular time of the day. It might be of a throbbing nature or a steady ache, and it may be of a come and go nature. There are often accompanying changes in the personality such as irritability and forgetfulness, and periods of hallucinations, or sudden vomiting, are frequent. Headaches due to brain tumors are endured for long periods of time before their cause is even suspected and often these symptoms help in making the diagnosis of the underlying cause.

 740.
Although nearly all brain tumors are accompanied by headaches of some degree, it is well to know that over half of all brain tumors are not cancerous, and that the surgical cure of such tumors is not nearly so formidable as is generally thought.

Examination of the head includes detailed observation of the scalp, the eye, the ear, the nose, the mouth and its contents, and the face itself.

 772.
Headaches

 773.
Headache, the silent crying of an over-burdened mind, is often traceable to a need for refreshment in some disagreeable part of our lives and only a few headaches have their origin in genuine physical disease. The popular escape from this malady, the Aspirin tablet, is consumed in enormous amounts each year, reflecting the sad fact that over a third of us have headache difficulties. Most of us would like to find and eliminate, if possible, the cause of our headache and so it is most interesting to see what headaches really are as well as what causes them.

 774.
It is amazing but true that the brain itself is incapable of any feeling and that it cannot possibly ache, even though severely burned. It is only the small blood vessels and coverings of the brain that possess any sensation or ability to feel pain. The pulling, stretching and dilatation of these vessels and brain coverings, in addition to a few painful nerve impulses from outside the brain, constitute all head pain.

 775.

Fig. 2. Headache and emotional upheavals are closely connected. Headache is the most common of all human complaints, and psycho-mental problems occupy over half of all our U.S. hospital beds.

 776.
With this simple picture, we can examine and consider most forms of headache easily.

 777.
Blood vessel headaches

 778.
The most common headache is a result of blood vessel dilation and stretching. It is found in people with migraine, high blood pressure, diabetes and hardening of the arteries. The brain arteries involved, produce the headache pain when stretched or dilated by reflexes starting in fear, anxiety or resentment. An example of a visible blood vessel dilatation, caused by reflex mental activity, is the commonplace blush, caused by embarrassment.

 779.
Relief from blood vessel headaches, usually requires a fresh approach to a disagreeable situation in our lives, or elimination of the situation altogether. This means the intelligent solving or altering of frustrating problems in our lives. Examples include thwarted ambitions, distasteful work, nagging mates and “keeping up with the Jones’.”

Kidney stones are formed when urine is concentrated leading to crystallization and the minerals in urine to fuse together. Kidney stones are formed over time as they gradually grow in size and obstruct the ureter. Most kidney stones are small and are usually passed through the urine stream. However those that grow to a significant size which is usually more than 4 millimeters, can cause a lot of pain. These stones can form in any part of the urinary system from the bladder to kidney. Case studies show that men seem to be more susceptible to kidney stones. Let’s learn more about these stones of pain.

 811.
Kidney stones are nothing but a crystallized form of minerals which are passed regularly through the urine. At times when urine is saturated with minerals for various reasons these fail to flush completely through the system. They accumulate over time and solidify so kidney stones are nothing but minerals in solid form.

 812.
What are the symptoms of kidney stones?

 813.
As mentioned earlier small kidney stones are flushed through the system at times without even being noticed. It’s the ones which grow in size over time that cause the most pain and discomfort. When they obstruct the ureter they cause expansion and contraction of the renal as well as spasm of the ureter. This causes typical symptoms associated with kidney stones.

 814.
(•) Pain that begins right under your ribs and spreads all the way down your stomach to your groin and back
815. (•) Pain seems to strike in waves and in different intensity over a period of time
816. (•) Pain while passing urine and blood or pus in urine
817. (•) Vomiting and Nausea
818. (•) Loss of appetite due to pain
819. (•) In case of an infection the patient would also suffer from fever and chills

 820.
Most doctors prescribe anti-inflammatory medicines which help control pain. They adopt the wait and watch policy hoping for the stone to be passed through urine. If this fails they perform surgery or use ultrasound to remove the stone.

 821.
Is there a natural and safe way to get rid of kidney stones?

 822.
Yes, there is a natural and safe way to pass kidney stones and it has proven to be effective for years before advance in medical science led to surgery as an option.

 823.
To begin with cut down on soda and processed foods. Consume more green food like vegetables and fruits. Consume an increasing amount of lemon juice every day. The acid in lemons help in dissolving the kidney stones and once it gets smaller it can easily be passed through urine.

 824.
Drink plenty of water every day.

 825.
Apple cider vinegar is also an effective natural remedy for kidney stones. Consume 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar daily.
826. Diuretic tea as well as some special type of tea found in the market helps to flush out kidney stones through urine.

 827.
Dandelion root and kidney beans boiled in water are an effective home remedy for kidney stones.

 828.
Cranberry as well as pomegranate juice help dissolve kidney stones naturally and they taste good too. So you have more reason to consume them.

 829.
Remember to drink a lot of water, consume green vegetables as well as the beverages mentioned above. This will help dissolve the kidney stone gradually and save you a lot of money by avoiding surgery.
