At MEDNAX, we see Microsoft 365, which includes Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security, as the latest step in a digital transformation that reinforces the symbiosis between smart technology and the innovative, attentive patient care that has always defined our company.

 36.
We work as a team to improve patient health, and today we are embracing cloud services to help us work more efficiently toward that goal. As we continue to grow, we are committed to delivering a modern workplace that brings a geographically dispersed workforce closer together and helps us attract new talent to drive innovation in patient care. Microsoft 365 cloud services that offer ubiquitous access and workplace collaboration apps are helping us recruit and maintain top talent, so we can continue to provide the best possible patient care.

 37.
Using our wealth of patient data to understand how to improve healthcare across MEDNAX–affiliated entities has set us apart from the beginning. Today, we are gaining greater insight into our data with Microsoft Power BI. In the past, data was trapped in our on-premises databases, available only to those who could use complicated BI tools on our workstations. Now we are unlocking this data and making dashboards and reports available to our employees on their mobile devices.

 38.
Simplifying how employees communicate with each other is a powerful way to foster innovation and best practices across the organization. Our physicians wanted to discuss clinical findings and new protocols without being confined to a computer in an office. With Microsoft cloud services, they are better able to share data and ideas with each other. That’s because physicians embraced groups in Outlook as a rich collaboration tool that allows for sharing files, scheduling meetings, and exchanging email all on a highly secure, mobile-friendly platform. Today, they are free to check in on these discussions from anywhere. Fostering this open dialogue among physicians leads to better, patient-centric care.

 39.
MEDNAX has always valued technology as a powerful way to stay true to our mission: “Take great care of the patient, every day, and in every way.” Moving to Microsoft 365 is helping us ensure that we continue to deliver on that promise.

We believe that reasonably priced, reliable telecom services should be available to everyone, and we provide both businesses and consumers with landline, mobile, broadband, and many other services.

 63.
However, because we’re a value provider, we need to be creative when it comes to spending on advertising, infrastructure and other items. We win by outthinking and outmaneuvering the competition. This means enabling our people to think creatively and differently about how they approach problems.

 64.
That’s why we’re rolling out Microsoft 365 Enterprise to all our 2,500 employees. We are rethinking our entire culture of work—how decisions are made and how people work. In the past, all decisions went through our London office, and all work happened in the office. But we can’t move quickly enough with this location-bound paradigm, and we can’t attract the best people with an old-school, office-based mentality. People do their best work when they work when, where, and how they want.

 65.
So we designed and opened a brand new office in Manchester, England, where two-thirds of our U.K. employees now work. We got rid of all offices and replaced them with open collaboration spaces with Wi-Fi. We’ve made it easy for people to work together and self-form into teams to make the best decisions and make them quickly.

 66.
By deploying Microsoft 365, we’ve also made it possible for employees to be fully functional, productive, and engaged when outside the office. With Microsoft 365, working at home or in another remote location is completely on par with working in the office.

 67.
And that’s been transformative for us culturally. People can leave the office early to avoid traffic and dial into meetings from home. They can bounce out at midday to pick up their children and still review documents. This freedom is critical to employees feeling that they can be themselves and fit work into the rest of their lives.

 68.
With tools such as Skype for Business Online, we can grab one another instantly and easily. We can open documents during calls and review content in real time. We can also work more nimbly with our customers, which range from mom-and-pop shops to multinationals. We’ve federated Skype for Business Online with many of our customers, so we’re more multichannel; we can not only talk on the phone with them or send an email but also send instant messages and connect straightaway. Our customers have noticed that we’re a faster moving organization.

 69.
The fact that Microsoft 365 includes so many integrated services simplifies the workload for my team. By standardizing on Windows 10 Enterprise, we get rid of the myriad versions of Windows that we were previously supporting. Before, we were buying new systems that came with Windows 10 and downgrading the operating system to make them consistent with the rest of our estate! With Windows 10 being part of our Microsoft 365 license, we can roll it out faster and ensure that all our systems have up-to-date security, which is critical with more remote and mobile work styles.

 70.
Security is always a key consideration. Using Windows 10 in conjunction with Microsoft Intune and the other Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security services gives us the confidence that all our devices are secure. The fact that we have a multilayered approach to security with Microsoft lets us implement security patches much faster.

 71.
There is such a rapid rate of change in telecom services that we have to move quickly to stay ahead. Microsoft 365 is a critical part of our strategy to outthink, outmaneuver, and outpace our competition by empowering every one of our employees.

 90.

In September, we announced a new vision for intelligent communications, where we bring comprehensive calling and meetings capabilities into Microsoft Teams, data and insights from the Microsoft Graph, and a strong roadmap of innovation to empower teams to achieve more. Teams will evolve as the primary tool for intelligent communications in Office 365, replacing Skype for Business Online over time.

 91.
Since launch, more than 125,000 organizations across 181 markets and 29 languages have discovered how teamwork comes to life in Teams, as we continue to gain momentum, with Teams evolving as the hub for teamwork within Office 365, now including chat, calling, and meetings.

 111.

Today’s post was written by Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president for the Office team.

 112.
Earlier today in San Francisco, Harry Shum, executive vice president of Microsoft AI & Research, demonstrated how Microsoft is infusing intelligent technologies across our core products to make artificial intelligence (AI) available to everyone, with the simple goal of helping people deliver their best work.

 113.
Office 365 is built on Microsoft’s powerful platform for AI that makes advancements in machine learning and AI accessible to every developer and organization. From document translation to intelligent threat detection, AI is already enhancing the productivity experience of over 120 million commercial Office 365 users.

 114.
New Office 365 AI capabilities this month help subscribers discover insights from data, leverage organizational knowledge, arrive on time for events, and more. Read on for details.

 115.
Automatically unlock rich insights with AI (preview)

 116.
Every day, millions of Office 365 subscribers rely on Excel to perform complex analysis and derive value from their organizations’ data with intelligent tools like Flash Fill and advanced data transformation. For many, however, extracting key insights from a new data set can be intimidating. Today, we’re announcing the preview of Insights in Excel—a new service that automatically highlights patterns it detects, which makes it easier for everyone to explore and analyze their data. Powered by machine learning, Insights helps identify trends, outliers, and other useful visualizations, providing new and useful perspectives on data. Insights begins rolling out in preview to Office insiders this month.

 117.

 118.
Excel will provide automatic insights.

 119.
Master company lingo with machine learning

 120.
Every workplace is unique, and understanding the internal acronyms in use across an organization can be essential to success. Today, we announced a new Microsoft Word feature called Acronyms. Powered by machine learning, Acronyms helps people understand shorthand that is commonly used in their own workplaces by leveraging the Microsoft Graph to surface definitions of terms that have been previously defined across emails and documents. Acronyms will begin rolling out to Word Online for Office 365 commercial subscribers in 2018.

 121.

 124.
In 2017, we rolled out several new capabilities in Outlook that help users automatically detect trips and deliveries, triage email, schedule meetings, and more. Today, we’re expanding this set of AI-powered tools by bringing Cortana to the Outlook mobile app to help users stay on top of their day. When it is time to leave for appointments, Outlook will now send a notification—with directions for both driving and public transit—taking into account current location, the event location, and real-time traffic information. Time to leave in Outlook is rolling out to iOS users this month in markets where Cortana is available.

 127.
Bring people, ideas, and content together with Microsoft Whiteboard Preview

 128.
This month, we also announced the preview of Microsoft Whiteboard for Windows 10 devices—a freeform digital canvas where people, ideas, and content can come together. Microsoft Whiteboard Preview is built for teams who ideate and work together across multiple devices and locations. Unlike traditional whiteboards, the app uses AI to recognize freeform drawings and turn them into standard shapes, so it’s easier to create great-looking tables, diagrams, and flowcharts using only a pen. Users can work together in real-time on shared content and automatically save to the cloud to pick their work up later from another device. Microsoft Whiteboard is now available in preview from the Windows Store.

 130.
Find text in images with intelligent search

 131.
Earlier this year, we introduced the ability for OneDrive and SharePoint to automatically recognize the content within images and detect whiteboards, screenshots, receipts, and more. Today, we are expanding this capability to automatically extract searchable text from those images, making it easier to find a wide range of content, including receipts and business cards, using memorable search terms and without needing to know where the images are stored. Text in image search is currently rolling out and will be available to all Office 365 commercial subscribers by the end of December.

 159.

Today’s post was written by Jared Spataro, general manager for Office.

 160.
Excel is a much-loved productivity tool that has attracted a strong and passionate fanbase over the years. This user community drives many grassroots activities ranging from local conferences to global competitions like ModelOff, the Financial Modeling World Championship. And this engagement is well deserved—people use Excel across industries, roles, and scenarios to do amazing things. In fact, Excel ranks as one of the most requested skills among employers, based on 25 million job postings, according to Burning Glass Technologies.

 161.
All of us on the Excel product team really enjoy getting out and spending time with the community. Each and every interaction proves to be a treasure trove of learning. We see firsthand how the latest features are being used and, more importantly, find gaps and come up with great ideas for new features. Last week, members of the Excel team attended the ModelOff conference, and we’d like to share a few highlights from the event, plus a few recent features shaped by the community.

 162.
ModelOff 2017

 163.
The ModelOff conference is an annual event where Excel fans from all over the world gather to improve their Excel skills in topics like Advanced Excel, Business and Financial Analysis, and Financial Modeling. This year’s event was held in New York City, and in addition to networking, training, and skill development, this two-day event also gave a select few individuals the chance to compete in the event’s annual Financial Modeling World Championship. The 16 finalists competed against thousands of highly skilled Excel fans across the world for the honor of attending the New York City competition, which includes the opportunity to share over $50,000 in awards and prizes.

 164.
Our team attended the event and we were excited to congratulate this year’s championship winner, Alvin Woon, director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, for his superb work. “Taking part in ModelOff was a humbling experience,” noted Woon. “After seeing all the unique and amazing ways other competitors use Excel to solve the same problem, you realize that winning the competition doesn’t necessarily mean you’re the best—any of the finalists could have won.”

 165.

 166.
Winners of ModelOff 2017 (Michael Jarman, Alvin Woon, and Willem Gerritsen).

 167.
Innovation in Excel that our users love

 168.
Also, at the event, we were excited to see that many of the attendees were actively using some recently added features. Here are a few of the latest additions that seemed to really connect with attendees.

 169.
Real-time collaboration—As with other Office 365 apps, you and your coworkers can securely work simultaneously within an Excel file from any device (mobile, desktop, and web). This allows you to know who else is working with you in a spreadsheet, see where they’re working, and view changes automatically within seconds, reducing the time it takes to collect feedback and eliminating the need to maintain multiple versions of a file. Live, in-app presence indicators through Skype for Business make it easy to connect with available coworkers in the moment.

 170.

 171.
Work simultaneously with coworkers in the same workbook.

 172.
Powerful data modeling—Get & Transform is one of Excel’s most powerful features, enabling you to search for data sources, make connections, and shape your data to meet specific analysis needs. Excel can connect to data sitting in the cloud, in a service, or stored locally. You can then combine different data sets from these sources into a single Data Model for a unique, unified view. Plus, you can create a Data Model to import millions of rows of data into Excel—keeping your analysis in one place.

 173.

 174.
Import data from a variety of internal and external sources.

 175.
Insightful visualizations—Excel is an inherently visual tool, giving you new perspectives through a variety of charts and graphs. We continue to enhance visualization in Excel—with geographical maps and waterfall charts—to provide easier analysis and a better, more impactful way to share insights across your company.

 176.

 177.
Dashboard creation and sharing—Power BI is the cloud-based data visualization tool that allows you to create and publish dashboards. We intentionally designed Power BI and Excel to work together, so you can surface the most relevant insights for the task at hand. Excel data can be imported into Power BI, while Power BI reports can be analyzed in Excel for new perspectives. You can then easily share these dashboards and insights with others in your company.

 178.
<img class="alignnone wp-image-230138" src="http://blogs.office.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/12/Meet-your-modern-data-analysis-needs-with-Microsoft-Excel-3.png" alt="Image showing how easily you can publish Excel data to Power BI. 179.
Easily publish Excel data to Power BI to visualize data in different ways.

 180.
Built-in extensibility—Like other Office 365 applications, Excel can be customized to meet the specific needs of your company. Excel’s rich ecosystem of add-ins and other tools can help you work with data in more relevant ways. Plus, the Excel platform is flexible enough for IT admins or Microsoft partners to develop custom solutions.

 181.
When we look back over the last few years of innovation in Excel and the various ideas that were sparked by enthusiasts in the Excel community, we are truly grateful. Excel is getting richer every day thanks to the love and deep insights that the community brings—thank you.

 182.
For those of you looking to get the latest in Excel, we encourage you to visit the Office 365 website and get the latest for your organization or yourself. 228.

Today, we are gradually rolling out the Microsoft Whiteboard Preview app—a freeform digital canvas where people, ideas, and content can come together for creative collaboration—available for download on Windows 10 devices.* Microsoft Whiteboard Preview is built for anyone who engages in creative, freeform thinking before getting to their final output. It’s designed for teams that need to ideate, iterate, and work together both in person and remotely, and across multiple devices.

 229.

 230.
In the course of our private beta, we saw startups use it to put together images, mockups, and notes as an inspiration board for their next big idea. We witnessed marketing agencies use it in online meetings as they work with clients on product designs in real time. And our team uses it to diagram engineering plans, with remote participants filling in their respective areas on the same working canvas. Ultimately, we see Microsoft Whiteboard Preview as enhancing how people go from personal ideation, team brainstorms, and group discussions to their finished products.

 231.
Collaborate effortlessly

 232.

 233.
The limitless surface ensures that imagination has room to grow and provides space for everyone’s ideas. Bring in teammates—whether they’re across the hall or in a different part of the world—with real-time collaboration across multiple devices. You can see where everyone is on the board and the updates they’re making—whether they’re adding images, putting up sticky notes, or creating diagrams. Now even remote workers can easily join in and contribute to the discussion.

 234.
Work naturally

 235.

 236.
Microsoft Whiteboard Preview lets you create in whatever way feels most natural to you. The pen-first, touch-first technology lets you make fluid gestures with your fingers or draw out finer details with your pen. Using your pen, you can jot down notes, draw precise illustrations, or search for images on the web. Using your fingers, you can swipe to different sections of your board, turn the virtual ruler to the angle you want, and drag and drop images to create a photo stack. Whether you use pen or touch, Microsoft Whiteboard Preview recognizes your intent and delivers your desired outcomes in an instant.

 237.
Create digitally

 238.

 239.
With the preview of Microsoft Whiteboard, you can use intelligent ink that recognizes your freeform drawings and turns them into standard shapes, so it’s easy to create great-looking tables, diagrams, and flowcharts. And unlike traditional whiteboards, the app automatically saves your boards, so you can pick up where you left off or share links to your boards, so others can build on top of your work.* No need to take photos of your canvas or email photos to others when you need to get them up to speed.

 240.
We’re truly excited for you to try out the Microsoft Whiteboard Preview as we think it will help you unlock creativity and harness the power of your teams. We look forward to receiving your comments, suggestions, and feature requests via the Windows Feedback Hub, which you can access from within the app.

 241.
—The Microsoft Whiteboard team

 242.
*The Microsoft Whiteboard Preview is rolling out to all English versions of Windows 10 within the next 24 hours, and will roll out to additional languages in the coming months. The app is free to use for anyone with a Windows 10 device, but one participant with an Office 365 personal, work, or school account is needed for multi-party collaboration. For SurfaceHub customers, the Microsoft Whiteboard Preview will eventually replace the native whiteboard app currently running on your SurfaceHub. In the meantime, you can install the preview of the Microsoft Whiteboard alongside your existing app.

 257.

Today’s post was written by Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president for the Office team.

 258.
Earlier this month, we announced the worldwide availability of Microsoft 365 Business, a purpose-built productivity and management solution for small and medium-sized businesses. We also introduced Microsoft Connections, Microsoft Listings, Microsoft Invoicing, and the Office 365 Business Center in the U.S., U.K., and Canada to help small businesses empower their employees and unlock growth and innovation.

 259.

 260.
Additional new Office 365 features this month focus on enhancing organizational productivity and simplifying business processes while maintaining a secure and compliant environment for teamwork.

 261.
Enhancing security, privacy, and compliance

 262.
As organizations embrace digital transformation, it is increasingly important for IT to ensure that employee and customer data is protected and handled appropriately. New updates to Office 365 this month help organizations understand what information they have stored, manage access to resources, and strengthen their compliance posture.

 263.
Analyze more content with Advanced eDiscovery—eDiscovery is a tool that helps organizations analyze data across Office 365 to identify information that they have stored about a person or topic. Now Office 365 E5 subscribers can upload documents from outside Office 365 and analyze them with Advanced eDiscovery using the new content import feature. This extends the benefits of Advanced eDiscovery beyond Office 365, providing organizations with a single way to discover content relating to compliance matters from across their organization.

 264.
Secure external sharing links in OneDrive and SharePoint—In September at Ignite, we announced a number of improvements to external file sharing in OneDrive and SharePoint, including the ability to send secure external sharing links. This feature is now generally available to Office 365 subscribers, allowing external recipients to access files and folders—without a Microsoft account—by providing an email-based verification code each time a user accesses a file. IT administrators can also specify how often external recipients must get a new code and re-verify their email address, providing ongoing protection for your organization’s files and folders when they are shared with external recipients.

 265.
Improve compliance posture with Compliance Manager—Starting this month, organizations can participate in the preview for Compliance Manager, now available via the Service Trust Portal. Compliance Manager is a solution built into Office 365 that connects Microsoft security and compliance tools with the unique regulatory requirements different organizations may encounter. This helps Office 365 subscribers improve their compliance posture through risk assessments on Microsoft Cloud services, actionable insights, and simplified compliance workflows.

 266.
Simplifying processes and saving time with intelligent tools

 267.
This month’s Office 365 updates also help customers manage resources in more effective ways and make it easier for Firstline Workers to optimize their time throughout the workday.

 268.
Clock in and out in Microsoft StaffHub—New features in StaffHub help organizations centralize many of the daily processes workers undertake, reducing overhead and maximizing the impact of their Firstline Workforce. Now workers can clock in and out of their shifts within the app, in addition to managing daily activities and accessing company news and resources. These updates help streamline daily processes and help create a more well-informed workforce.

 269.

 270.
Automate files with Microsoft Flow in OneDrive—Flow provides a set of tools to automate tasks across apps and services, simplifying the process of managing repetitive and often complex actions like PDF conversion and approval routing. Starting this month, Office 365 subscribers can now run workflows on selected files and folders in OneDrive, allowing for the simplification of common tasks like saving multiple email attachments to folders and providing upload notifications.

 271.
Automatic drive classification with Mile IQ—New features in MileIQ use Microsoft AI to save time by automatically classifying trips. MileIQ will now detect frequently visited locations, learn how they are typically classified, and offer to auto-classify them in the future. Additionally, Work Hours makes it simple to set the times a user works, including multiple shifts, and will automatically classify drives outside of those hours as personal. Subscribers always have the option to re-classify a drive if necessary from the web dashboard.

 272.

 273.
Bringing AI to job seekers with Resume Assistant—Earlier this month, we announced the preview of Resume Assistant, a new feature in Microsoft Word to help Office 365 subscribers craft compelling resumes with personalized insights powered by LinkedIn. With over 80 percent of resumes updated in Word, Resume Assistant helps job seekers showcase accomplishments by surfacing relevant examples of work experience and top skills that industry professionals use to describe themselves. Ultimately, this helps Office 365 subscribers be more easily discovered by recruiters and land their ideal job.

 274.

 275.
Additional updates

 276.

 278.
Office Mobile apps on Chromebook—Earlier this week, we released a preview of the Office Mobile apps for Google Chromebooks. These apps were originally designed for Android phones, and they’re not yet fully optimized for the Chromebook form factor. We’ve done some initial work on the end user experience and want to gather customer feedback. As with all of our mobile apps, an Office 365 subscription is required to edit documents on devices with a screen size of 10.1 inches or greater.

 279.
Office Lens—Office Lens is now integrated within OneNote to provide scanning, cropping, and rotation of photos, documents, whiteboards, and business cards.

 300.
To say that KeyBank is growing is an understatement. The bank just announced that it ranks ninth in the U.S. according to the Small Business Administration. This represents a 43 percent jump in dollar volume from 2016 levels, more than doubling its loan commitment since 2015.

 301.
KeyBank accounts for this success by focusing on serving small businesses that help to build prosperous communities across the country. This financial services company is also banking on the Microsoft Cloud platform to provide employees with the highly secure, modern workplace they need to deliver the responsive service that customers expect in today’s digital business environment.

 302.
Here’s how Keith Silvestri, chief technology officer of KeyBank, describes his company’s decision to work with Microsoft:

 303.

“At KeyBank, meeting our clients’ business needs is our primary focus. Key grows by building enduring relationships through client-focused solutions and great service. To meet those needs and to ensure our competitive edge, we have begun our journey to both private and public cloud platforms for select applications. Having met our strict compliance, security, and risk requirements, Microsoft was our choice as a strategic partner in this journey. With its alignment to our digital-first approach, adopting Microsoft 365, which includes Office 365, Windows 10, and the Enterprise Mobility + Security Suite, and moving to the Azure cloud platform, will position us to achieve our technology goals faster. We look forward to offering our clients new possibilities and enhanced capabilities through our partnership with Microsoft.”

 304.
It’s great to know that KeyBank trusts Microsoft Cloud services to empower employees, meet its regulatory obligations, and safeguard its customers’ financial data with comprehensive, intelligent cloud protection services.

 320.

Today’s post was written by Ron Markezich, corporate vice president for Microsoft.

 321.
The evolution of technology and cloud innovation are democratizing data and in turn fueling digital transformation. Embracing every facet of this digital transformation offers organizations an opportunity to better engage with customers, empower employees, and optimize the creation and delivery of products and services. However, with the increased use of personal data to customize user experiences, new compliance laws—such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)—are a logical policy component of our technology landscape. Microsoft 365 offers a complete cloud solution to help you with GDPR compliance, while Compliance Manager helps you assess and manage your compliance risk.

 322.
Compliance promotes innovation by building customer trust in technology

 323.
At its core, the GDPR strengthens personal privacy rights for individuals in the EU and requires organizations to provide individuals control over their personal data. To build and maintain the trust needed to manage customer relationships through technology, organizations need tighter controls over what personal data they hold and how they manage and protect this data. Systems and processes need to be modernized to prevent the unlawful use of data, accommodate personal data requests by individuals, and provide notifications of breaches in a timely manner.

 324.
Businesses are looking to the cloud for added value

 325.
Our research suggests that companies not only see the long-term value of building trust by protecting customer data, but in fact believe their investments in compliance will positively impact other areas of their business—like productivity and collaboration.* When IT decision makers in Europe and the U.S. were asked to identify their top concern in achieving GDPR compliance, “protecting customer data” was the #1 response while avoiding fines ranked #8. More than half of respondents said the GDPR brings added benefits like collaboration, productivity, and security. Cloud solutions like Microsoft 365 are a big reason that businesses see opportunity in compliance. Of those surveyed, 41 percent said they are likely to move more of their company’s infrastructure to the cloud to become compliant. And among leading cloud vendors, Microsoft was identified as most trusted by a wide margin (28 percent), followed by IBM (16 percent), Google (11 percent), and Amazon (10 percent). All told, 92 percent of IT decision makers in companies that store data primarily in the cloud identified as being confident in their GDPR readiness, compared with just 65 percent of those who prefer to store data on-premises.

 326.
Microsoft 365 is a complete cloud solution for GDPR compliance

 327.
The Microsoft Cloud is uniquely positioned to help you meet your GDPR compliance obligations, with the largest certified compliance portfolio, services architected to be secure by design, and the most extensive global datacenter footprint in the industry.

 328.
Our cloud solution is built for power, scale, and flexibility. Microsoft 365 brings together Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security—offering a rich set of integrated solutions that leverage AI to help you assess and manage your compliance risk, protect your most important data, and streamline your processes.

 329.
Assess and manage your compliance risk with Compliance Manager Preview

 330.
Because achieving organizational compliance can be very challenging, understanding your compliance risk should be your first priority. Today, we’re making that easier with the preview of Compliance Manager.

 331.
Compliance Manager is a cross–Microsoft Cloud services solution designed to help organizations meet complex compliance obligations like the GDPR. 333.
Protect your most sensitive data

 334.
Beyond understanding your compliance risk, protecting both personal data and other sensitive content is key.

 335.
Microsoft information protection solutions provide an integrated classification, labeling, and protection experience, enabling more persistent governance and protection of sensitive data wherever it is—across devices, apps, cloud services, and on-premises.

 336.
For example, Office 365 Advanced Data Governance leverages machine assisted insights to help you automatically classify, set policies, and protect the data in Office 365 that is most important to your organization.

 337.

 338.
Azure Information Protection scanner addresses hybrid and on-premises scenarios by allowing you to configure policies to automatically label and protect documents on a Windows Server file share. Read “Azure Information Protection scanner in public preview” to learn more about the scanner.

 339.
Microsoft also provides external threat protection solutions to prevent and detect cyber-attacks across workloads—whether on devices using Windows 10, on-premises and Azure-based infrastructure, or with our cloud services like Office 365.

 340.
One of these solutions, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, is built into Windows 10 and helps spot most advanced targeted attacks by giving visibility into threats on your device, insights into the scope of the threat, and one-click response capabilities to isolate the threat immediately.

 341.

 342.
Streamline your processes

 343.
The GDPR requires organizations to be able to identify and locate personal data. Having a scalable investigation and audit-ready processes in place to meet requirements is paramount.

 344.
Content Search, a feature of Office 365 eDiscovery, makes it easy to search Office 365 for data related to individuals. Since the results of this search could result in large quantities of data or data that is confidential to the organization, machine learning in Advanced eDiscovery can be used to minimize the data so that you are only providing the relevant data in accordance with the GDPR.

 345.
Finally, Customer Lockbox provides an audit trail showing when personal data is accessed during service operations.

 346.
Get started today on your GDPR journey with Microsoft

 347.
No matter where you are in your GDPR efforts, the Microsoft Cloud and our intelligent compliance solutions in Microsoft 365 can help you on your journey to GDPR compliance.
