27. Hello.
 28.
29. I started a rendering, and it has been working for several hours, and after a while the counter did not increased. I restarted it, since in the help ( is written that " ... By opening it, you will recover the full project content at the time of the last Autosave, including half-completed PhotoRenderings.".
 30.
31. 'Project Recovery' window appeared and I opened the project, but I can't find the half-completed rendering. How can I continue rendering?
 32.
33. Thanks in advance.

 47. Thanks Erwin,
 48.
49. I didn't think the glass thickness or number of glass materials in a window.
 50.
51. However, these aren't "windows" they are in a quick study model and are just a wall assigned a glass material, but that would include two surfaces where as the car window might be one? It could be the way I have some lights set up too. ? In any case, I think you may have helped me out with tips on producing the white model with very dark and shiny glass before. If I remember correctly it was with some use of the Attributes manager too. I cant remember. I wish it were a little easier to do with CineRender like it is with the Maxell plug-in for ArchiCAD. There is an option in the render set up that lets you assign and/or over ride materials. Do we have something like that in CineRender?
 52.
53. What I usually do is manage all of the surface materials and textures in Maxwell Studio. Delete all the materials from ArchiCAD the import to Maxwell Studio and replace them with a default for white renders. Replace the glass as a group. I think it would be more convenient for me if I could do what I want in CineRender. I would still use Maxell for important final rendering because of the GPU processing. GRAPHISOFT needs to get compatible with GPU processing as soon as possible I think. That, and Global Illumination in the 3D window. The idea being that you could get very high quality images from a screen shot that will be adequate for most things with out any rendering at all. I hope they are aware of what programs like Solid Works are doing. The GPU graphics card I expect to have running today will handle an 8K monitor. Screen shots from a Solid Works screen would be impressive images that might have taken many hours to render, and yet are instantaneous screen shots. That is were I think the technology is going. Rendering will no longer be necessary or useful when you can screen capture something that is exponentially better than a rendering.

 73.

74.
 75. I guess that the difference you see is because the car probably uses a 0 thickness single surface for the glass, while windows use glass with thickness.
 76.
78.
79. Sadly, graphic overrides only get you about 90% of the way there: you can override everything to be white but glass surfaces, however it will not work with doors/windows and I would guess objects.
 80.
82.
83. The one time I wanted a 'mixed' white render effect, I ended up setting the windows/doors to white paint and keeping the glass and filtering them out of the override.
 84.
86.
87. So if you don't mind messing with your model a bit to achieve what you are after, it can be done.

 113. I would like to reproduce the effect of showing the glass with its settings in a White Model render but I don't know how I did it.
 114.
115. The glass in the car windows it not the same as the glass in the windows - but they have been assigned the same material. Glass: Blue/Ice*

 141. You can get your picture into 3D view by adding it to your library and using it as a surface image on a wall or something. There are ways to get it to scale too. If you show us a picture perhaps we can suggest a good way to do it. ?
 142.
144.
145. I use this technique for lots of things. Like if I am working in 3D to model something from a picture or other image files. I put it on a wall I can see while I am modeling it. For example a special stair you have a picture of. Put is on the wall behind where your modeling it in 3D so you can see it while you are modeling. For added realism you can model a few things in the picture and add some lines for highlights to make the background picture more like the rendered view of the building. Make some shadows with fills for areas in the picture that should have some shadows from the building or other things you modeled.

 206.
208.
209. I think it's a little ridiculous that creating an object in Cinema and bringing it into AC is so limiting, considering how tightly integrated Graphisoft is with Maxon. You would think Maxon would have a vested interest in ensuring that it's as flexible as possible to use their software in conjunction with AC, and vice versa. It only serves to sell more copies and further gain new customers who may use one platform or the other right now, but haven't experienced the synergy of using them together.

 268. Photo montage option is under Document > Creative Imaging > Allign View
 269.
271.
272. You place the photo somewhere in plan view, define two edges that are in your model and on the photo and it tries to create a camera that fits the view.
 273.
275.
276. Personally I find setting the image as background for 3d window, resizing the 3D window to have the proportions of that image and eyeballing it to work quicker and more accurate. It helps if you know how many mm lens setting your photo has, most digital cameras embed this sort of info in the file if you inspect the properties. Now you just need to match up the view angle to that. <a href="; target="_blank">;/a> sites like these help with conversion.
