31. I think we all have the same DWG translator, just with different options set. All the things you need are right there... in the translator settings.
 32.
33. For example, the option to "crop the underlying viewmap to only what it is visible on the sheet" is set in the save options of your DWG translator settings->save layout to-> paper space with cropped view's contents.
 34.
35. The options to save a a single drawing is save options-> place drawings into-> single DXF/DWG file.
 36.
37. Doors & Windows layers are set in the Attributes->Layers->Methods area of the Translation Setup.
 38.
39.
 40.
41. All these are explained in detail in the ~25 pages of the help PDF file. Look for DXF/DWG Translation Setup. It would also be handy to read "Saving DXF/DWG files" in Interoperability, also in help PDF.
 42.
43.
 44.
45. Anyone can give you a translator with these options, but it might cause havoc in your export if options are not set as you need them, and you'll end up blaming the file you got. It is better to take 1 hour to read and understand these settings once, and you can output whatever you need.
 46.
47.
 48.
49. Best regards.

 111. Do any of you gurus have a "good" DWG translator?
 112.
113. One that can go to a sheet (layout) and create a DWG of what it's seeing on the layout only.
 114.
115.
 116.
117. Crop the underlying viewmap to only what is visible on the sheet as well as put walls, doors, windows in appropriate layers and translate the entire DWG in one file?

 159. The first question asked was about importing an ArchiCAD model into SketchUp in a clean fashion. My answer was only referring to that.

 162.
163. Your question is the other way around: getting a SketchUp model into ArchiCAD, for which there is a dedicated ArchiCAD-addon and for which the other thread answers some questions.

 197. Hi all,
 198.
199.
 200.
201. I am trying to export / save my archicad 20 model into sketchup but whenever I try doing it it just stops at 29%.
 202.
203.
 204.
205. This is a fairly big model (300k polygons). It is a teamworked project with hotlinks. I have also tried using the cutting plane to export half the model and this fails too..
 206.
207.
 208.
209.
 210.
211. Has anyone had this issue or found a work around?

 231. Editing a morph in AC is a bit of a pain. It would be far more convenient to be able to do so in SketchUp. Could it be possible to have context menu option "open with" and then Sketchup (and possibly other software) as sub menu option? You then make edist is SU, save and close and it reloads in AC.
 232.
233.
 234.
235. I have a non solid morph that I could solidify in SU in a matter of minutes oppsed to AC where it is very very slow.

 249. Think you can convert from Rhino to 3D DWG, which can be converted to objects by ArchiCAD to stop the backsaving. You will lose the NURBS anyway in ArchiCAD17.

 301. The imported Rhino stuff is converted to objects, but they will have obviously alot of Nurbs geometry (introduced in GDL in v20). Pretty sure they will not survive, so I would convert them all to morphs to be sure.
 302.
303. Otherwise there will be some unwanted surprises when saving down.

 320.
321.
 322.
323. Yes but you have to save from 21 to 20.
 324.
325. Open in 20 save to 19.
 326.
327. Open in 19 save to 18.
 328.
329. Open in 18 save to 17.
 330.
331.
 332.
333. You can only back-save one version at a time - so you will need all versions installed.
 334.
335.
 336.
337. You will of course lose any of the functionality/features of 20.
 338.
339. Not sure if this will affect what is imported from Rhino as I don't use it - but I think I should be OK.

 364.
365. If I download a trial version of archicad 20/21 can I use the Rhino plug in and then down save for my Archicad 17 use?

 368.
369. Can an archicad 21 file be downsaved to archicad 17?

 383. Hi, I'm working on exporting ArchiCAD drawings into DWGs for consultant use. However, nodes from ArchiCAD are attached to every element in the DWG. I have circled a few of them in the attached image.
 384.
385.
 386.
387. I have tried two different methods of exporting:
 388.
389.
 390.
391. 1) Publish the DWGs using the DWG for Dummies translator and assigning the A-MCUT to the cut layers. Hoping this would isolate all the nodes to one layer which would make it easy to delete them in AutoCAD.
 392.
393.
 394.
395. 2) Publish a cleaned up worksheet drawing. Still the nodes appear in AutoCAD.
 396.
397.
 398.
399. Is there a way to export DWGs without the ArchiCAD object node points?
