33.

Exclusive to Ferrari owners, a teaser image has been released for a possible new model come next month. The teaser image features a sketch of the potential new model with moniker ‘Icona Ferrari’. The date mentioned on the teaser poster is September 17th, perfectly timed for Ferrari’s Capital Markets Day where keynote from new CEO Louis Camilleri is expected to reveal the car maker’s strategy for the next five years.

 34.

 35.
Decoding the image filename, hinted for a model ‘Ferrari F176’ which could possibly be the codename for the new model coming next month. Reports suggest that this new model could be based from the limited supercar 812 Superfast, however, the Italian car maker is still mum of its details. Another rumor also suggest that this new model will commemorate the 70 years of Ferrari 166 Inter(you can connect the filename of Ferrari F176 here, if you wish), partially confirming the Superfast-based model.

 36.
The Italian sports car maker’s 5-year plan will for sure shed some lights or if ever, intro the new model. We’ll keep you posted.

 52.

Swedish truck manufacturer Scania is the latest to jump into the bandwagon and first ever company to unveil a smartwatch aimed for drivers. It’s called “Black Griffin”, a rebranded Sony SmartWatch 3 which has been already available in limited 999 units only.

 53.

 54.
Basically, it’s technological features were what you can find on a Sony SmartWatch 3, however, there are software upgrades to have it considered first on the smartwatch market. The Scania smartwatch runs on Android Wear powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor which is being backed up by a 512MB of RAM. There’s a 320×320, 1.6-inch touchscreen display that accordingly will show 3 different watch faces, specifically 2 digital and an analog one. In addition, there will be a 4GB internal memory, 420mAh of battery pack and it’s tested to be water-splash resistant (IP68 certification).

 55.
Scania as a truck manufacturer, this smartwatch will be like an added attractive feature on their products as accessories. This driver’s smartwatch can connect through the company’s so called “FMS Integration” in which in an instant you’ll have an overview of your driving activities, behavior or even fuel consumption comparison in weekly data. You can easily analyze your driving through the available metrics such speed, average mileage or even fuel consumption and further improve your driving efficiency.

 56.
Scania’s Black Griffin smartwatch is now available in their online store for a not-so-cheap €295 but knowing how well trackers are compensated on that region, well, they might just have this cool accessory if they want.

 57.
This post is sponsored by Scania but all thoughts are our own.

 77.

Truly an iconic brand in the automotive industry, Bosch carries undeniable reputation on its products for its technology, design and durability. Talking about one of the most basic yet important car accessories —-the wiper blades, Bosch’s blades can truly save lives during rainy or snowy weather conditions. There are three Bosch’s wiper blades that stand out due to beam technology:

 78.

 79.
ICON Wiper Blades

 80.
Evolution Wiper Blades

 81.
Clear Advantage Wiper Blades

 82.

 83.

 84.
As winter approaches, David can tell you how well these wiper works through Bosch’s commercial video above!

 85.
One of these technologically designed wipers could be your next upgrade, so we’d like to give you some instant tips on the proper maintenance of your car wiper blades. During snowy conditions, ice can accumulate on your windshield and if you’re in a hurry you may decide to use your wipers instead of your ice scraper. Do not use your wiper blades to scrape off the ice on your front window though, doing so can damage the motor, bend the arms or even rip off the wiper blades in the process. A simple thought why it’s called windshield “wiper” and not “scraper” blades.

 86.
Now if you’re out and snowy weather is in forecast, make a simple precaution of lifting your wiper blades up off of the windshield. When build up of snow or ice is in your front window, start your car and allow for the windshield to defrost before using your ice scraper – if you think the wiper blades can operate smoothly then turn them on to clear the front glass.

 87.
Let us know if these tips are helpful or if you’re already doing these steps – it would be great if you can share other tips.

 88.
This post has been sponsored by Bosch, but all thoughts are our own.

 104.

At Hockenheim Circuit, a mysterious –really fast car driver named Bobby has just debuted itself to the world. Actually, it’s a driverless concept car system that piloted an Audi RS7 for a trial run on a race track. He’s really fast and as well drives precisely like some of the pro-drivers we know. It proves its driving prowess with a stunning lap of just over two minutes where it went five seconds quicker at speeds up to 150 mph.

 105.

 106.
“The top performance by the Audi RS 7 today substantiates the skills of our development team with regard to piloted driving at Audi,” said Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, board member for Technical Development at Audi AG. “The derivations from series production, particularly in terms of precision and performance, are of great value for our further development steps.”

 107.
When Bobby take over on the RS7 driver’s seat, he got a map of the track with left and right boundaries defined where it accurately determine the best line for precise driving time around. When on track, the RS7 driverless concept car uses “specially corrected GPS signals transmitted via WiFi according to automotive standards and redundantly via high-frequency radio. In parallel to this, 3D cameras in the car film the track, and a computer program compares the cameras’ image information against a data set stored on board.”

 108.
This technology will make the driverless car capable of orienting itself within centimeters, making it precise and safe when out on streets. But still, Audi needs to prove all the capabilities of the driverless system out on the streets and traffic –though the race track is a good start for its debut.

 109.
The autonomous driving have been on the streets for several years now, Google and recently Tesla have their systems for auto-pilot driving, however, there are still several challenges to push the technology on streets. Consideration of unpredictable situations on the street, the masses that could clogged streets when anyone can have their car drive autonomously for them, connectivity barriers, liability questions, regulatory unknowns, lack of universal industry standards, and other technological limitations. Apparently, it seemed the technology, has been silently inching itself with the following features: such as self-parking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, automatic braking have been rolling out for every new cars nowadays.

 110.
Audi might be pushing for semi-autonomous driving for now, in which you can ask Bobby to drive for you as an option(considering road-traffic situations), but we hope through the fast improvements of this tech we could have a fully automated driving cars on streets. How about booking a highly-integrated driverless Uber taxi?

 111.
This post has been sponsored by Audi, but concerns our own opinion.

 161.

The history of the Mini makes it a true classic, which more than merits its “European Car of the Century” award. So how did the Mini become the car it is today?

 162.
The intriguing design was the brain child of Sir Alec Issigonis (1906–1988), who was certainly a visionary in industrial transportation. In its early stages, the Mini was meant to be the answer to the Suez oil crisis of 1956.

 163.
In the 1960s, the Mini was the small car of choice. Produced by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, the Mk I Mini was not only the most compact car built to date, it also broke new ground as the first car to offer the now popular front-wheel-drive (FWD) system.

 164.
After decades of production of different Mini models, the last Mini, a red Cooper Sport, was made in October 2000.

 165.

 166.
In 2001, the new BMW Mini was launched, with a different design, as developed by the BMW team. This rekindled the sales of the Mini worldwide with around 250,000 Mini sold worldwide in that year.

 167.
The Mini was redesigned by BMW yet again in 2006, but this time it was largely to fall in line with stricter NCAP European safety standards and ratings.

 168.
Lovers of classic cars, however, still enjoy the pre 2001 models of the Mini, with many of them being sold for hefty sums today. If you are among these lovers of the classic Mini, it is important to seek out the best classic car insurance. Giving you peace mind as you cruise around.

 169.
The Mini has evolved massively since it first rolled off the production line in the 1950s. However, model after model has reflected the “Mini” essence, and captured the imagination of the consumer public.

 229.

The fast and efficient Audi A3 e-tron plug-in hybrid will be made available soon in the UK with starting price of £34,950 and fortunately, it’ll be much cheaper once you take into account the UK government grant which makes the A3 even more attractive from its competitions.

 230.
Ideally, getting a plug-in hybrid will have you the best of both worlds, with the 150 horsepower turbo engine for the rapid acceleration and the electric motor for its efficiency and sustainability. Audi aims to market the A3 for its flexibility of being an everyday car.

 231.

 232.
For short trip or city driving the driver can easily switch into full EV mode and travel without using a sip of fuel. The A3 can travel for 30 miles on a full charge of the battery and 580 miles in total after the fuel tank is served off. You can look over comprehensively on e-tron’s data for more details.

 233.
Under-the-hood, the official UK market specss will feature a 1.4-liter TFSI with 148 bhp, helped by a 75 kW (100 bhp) electric motor to produce 201 bhp. 0 to 62 mph takes 7.6 seconds and the top speed is 137 mph.

 234.
Now looking closely at the market A3 is situated, there might be close consideration with pure hybrid Lexus CT200h and much cheaper-than-A3 Volkswagen’s Golf GTE —-however, Audi’s hatchback seemed to be generously equipped with features like standard LED headlights, HDD navigation and Audi connect Internet-based services which is hard to ignore.

 253.
Recently, Daimler has just outed a demo video of its self-driving truck in which the automaker called Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 on Germany’s autobahn.

 254.

 255.
The Future Truck will utilize the automaker’s called Highway Pilot which will enable drivers to switch control of the vehicle’s auto-pilot system and ride hands-free as a passenger. For the truck to autonomously drive on its own, the Highway Pilot system uses combination of vehicle-to-vehicle communication through WiFi that has a range of 1,640 ft and combinations of all-side mounted radars in far-close range as well a front stereo camera situated just under the windshield.

 256.
As the moniker implied, the system is said to be drove on roads by 2025, however, laws to have autonomous vehicles onto highways should be enacted to get started. But accordingly, if the developments can’t wait till 2025, the company might release it as early as possible —-a city in England has plans to roll-out “100 self-driving cars for public use next year, and in California the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles has approved autonomous car tests set to begin in September.”

 257.
“If the legislative framework for autonomous driving can be created quickly, the launch of the Highway Pilot is conceivable by the middle of the next decade,” according from Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard a member of Daimler’s board of management.

 276.

After pulling out Ford Explorer back in 2001 in the European market, the company believes it can win back premium brand customers from the region with its introduction of Ford Edge –a large SUV that will available late next year.

 277.
It’ll be aimed mainly at premium segment consumers to rival medium-sized SUVs such as Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 with more space to offer. It’s Ford’s bid to dig a strong return in the European market next year. Though, it’ll not be an easy drive going back with the competition from segment leaders such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz –all with a home-court advantage.

 278.
When compared with Audi Q7, it’s said that Edge is a five-seater but bigger than the 7-seater Q7 and will significantly cost less that starts with 53,500 euros in Germany. Though, Ford didn’t comment on the real price range of Ford Edge when released in EU.

 279.
Ford Edge will be offered in “two versions of Ford’s 2.0-liter diesel engine, one with 180hp and CO2 emissions of 149 grams per km and the other with 210hp and emissions of 159g/km. All versions offer four-wheel drive.” Edge will be made for the first time in right-hand drive versions.

 280.
Edge sales have remained consistently above 100,000 units since 2007 in the US. IHS Automotive expects that Edge sales in EU will be around 8,000 units while around 30,000 in China(second largest Edge’s market) in 2016.
