24. Hi. I am not sure if I put this already somewhere else but didn't find it.

Some programs (Affinity, Photoshop?, Image Toolbox, etc..) tell in save dialouge/settings the estimated size of file to be saved. It would be very handy feature for xnmp as you wouldn't have to save multiple files and then start to study in file explorer which one became the size that you want (in the scenario where size is of high importance. Below is illustration how it could look in save dialogue and where it might be easy to put it.

As there are many file formats so it might be challenging to implement it for all of them but it would be cool for most important ones, which are (IMO):

JPG, JXL, AVIF, WEBP,,,, PNG, HEIC, TIF, PDF?, SVG?

The size should update every time you modify saving settings (e.g. change quality parameter, pull quality slider, 4:2:0 to 4:4:4, progressive vs. non progressive encoding, etc...etc...

Statistics: Posted by golemus — Fri Jul 18, 2025 7:41 pm

removing sequential ones would be a huge mistake as they offer the most ergonomic way to group/use keybinds as they allow you to avoid the inconvenient hold of far 220. If a folder favorite points to a folder on a drive that is not mounted, clicking on it brings up a prompt asking whether it should be removed. Can you change this behavior (via an option in the settings) so that this message doesn't appear every time I accidentally click on it? The reason is that I don't want to have to delete the folder favorites every time my external drive isn't mounted. But I also don't want to have to constantly confirm that I don't want to remove them.

XnViewMP 1.9.2 on macOS 15.5
Statistics: Posted by msone — Thu Jul 17, 2025 2:00 pm

 360. Hi Pierre, thanks for looking into this.

I may know why you were no able to reproduce - it only happens when image is zoomed to "full size" (press "/").

With selection size is as on provided with photo screenshot, problem is persistent. Actually position of the selection doesn't seem to matter

So this is how to reproduce:

Windows 10, 64-bit
XnView MP 1.9.2, 64-bit

1. Load "P1000613.JPG" photo (attach in prev comment)
2. Make a selection approximately 3515x2347
3. Zoom-in to the corner of selection to have fine control, adjust selection size to exactly 3515x2347
4. Zoom image to full size (press "/")
5. Ctrl-X to crop
6. Ctrl-Z to undo and restore selection
7. Check lossless crop - it should be greyed out

You can move selection and repeat 5-7

Just check size of XnView window doesn't matter, doesn't have to be full screen

P.S. Somehow don't get notifications of your replies, thus long delay
Statistics: Posted by oayz — Wed Jul 16, 2025 6:29 am

 1. Download the "valid Atom 1.0" banner.

 2. Upload the image to your own server. (This step is important. Please do not link directly to the image on this server.)

 3. Add this HTML to your page (change the image src attribute if necessary):

If you would like to create a text link instead, here is the URL you can use:
