24. Hello,
I feel like it would be useful if you could modify files in slideshow mode, whether it be copy, delete or apply filters and such. I myself have all the photos sorted into directories so it would be really nice to have a possibility of modifying 2, 3 or 10 and more directories without hopping between them.
Statistics: Posted by MrSinister — Sat Apr 20, 2024 11:31 am

 66. I can't get the hotkey processed from XnView Classic inside games. I assign F11 or Shift-F11, choose Desktop as the capture source, and no file is created. It works from within Windows GUI.

Many recent games use what is called "deferred rendering". They put the image into an intermediate buffer for further treatment. Using competing screen capture software, I cannot capture anything from Euro Truck Simulator 2 when "scaling" is engaged. What it does is make certain portions of the screen bigger, and the downsize them to increase quality. Capture also doesn't work for very old games that output a paletted image. They usually have an internal hotkey that understands the screen format and spits out a TGA/PCX somewhere. They may hook onto Print Screen or another key next to it.

Windows native Print Screen also works/doesn't work the same way. It works with games produced between 1997 and 2010, including those that have normal fixed-function hardware anti-aliasing activated. Maybe specialized gaming software like Fraps or Open Broadcaster know some tricks. After all, people stream most games over the Internet.
Statistics: Posted by j7n — Fri Apr 19, 2024 7:35 pm

 80. I recently had to deal with some XNB files. They're sprite sheets used by some game engines. It would be nice if they'd open in XnViewMP. I found this github project https://github.com/SimonDarksideJ/XNAGa ... ent-Format that documents the format. It's MIT licensed, which I think is compatible with close-sourced software.
Statistics: Posted by jwoltman — Fri Apr 19, 2024 2:12 am

 164. XN only supports "round" image dimensions such as 1024*1024. From how the rows are misaligned, you can clearly see there is a width mismatch issue. If you ever opened RAW files, you'll recognize it. DDS support is still very limited. It only outputs DXT5 even if there is no alpha, and no mipmaps.

You can use free Photoshop CS2 + Nvidia Tools (old version)

Create an Action with save to DDS. Then use File > Automate > Batch
I don't think the action saves any parameters, so the last chosen DDS options will be used.
Statistics: Posted by j7n — Thu Apr 18, 2024 3:38 am

 332. Great this has been added fixed. Took a while as I raised it 12 years ago, as an issue when it was first implemented.

viewtopic.php?f=74&t=26792&p=106572#p106572

Is it just me though or is this actually working? You now get 4 thumbnail snapshots instead of 3 and a black / blank clip. The issue appears to be now that you still only 3 unique clips in the thumbnails as the 1st and 3rd clip of the 4 are the same. Wanted to find out if just an issue for me, as a lot of the external codec decoders I have worked best with the 32 bit version of the program.
Statistics: Posted by phobos — Tue Apr 16, 2024 4:56 pm
