  311. members of the community will remember that Lotus hosted a Domino server
  312. at notes.net that held reference materials that you could access directly
  313. from your Notes client. &nbsp;While our new server doesn't contain the
  314. same depth of resources that server did, our goal is to offer a similar
  315. resource that can grow and become something similar.</span>

  317. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">You can access
  318. the server from your Notes client at <b>home.openntf.net/openntf-net </b></span>

  320. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue"><b>What is
  321. on the Server?</b></span>

  323. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">Start with
  324. the Welcome database, <b>OpenNTF Welcome! [welcome.nsf]</b> to learn about
  325. the server contents and how you can use the server. &nbsp;Then there are
  326. a couple of useful reference databases: <b>Notes.ini [projects\notes-ini.nsf]</b>
  327. which contains over 3,000 notes.ini settings, and<b> xsp.properties [public\xspprops.nsf]
  328. </b>which contains a reference of xsp properties for XPages developers.
  329. &nbsp;The notes.ini settings database has been curated by Daniel Nashed
  330. from a previous version that was maintained for years by Rudi Knegt and
  331. Bruce Lill. &nbsp;The xsp.properties database was contributed by Heiko
  332. Voigt and his team. &nbsp;</span>
  333. <br />
  334. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">There is also
  335. a test database for people wanting to work with <b>Domino IQ [dominoiq.nsf]</b>,
  336. contributed by Daniel Nashed.</span>

  339. all available without the need to cross certify. &nbsp;</span>

  343. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">To be able
  344. to contribute to the reference databases, or to join a community development
  345. project on the server you must be cross certified. &nbsp;The Welcome database
  346. contains information and a form you can fill out to get your ID cross certified.</span>

  348. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue"><b>What Else?</b></span>

  350. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">From this
  351. humble beginning the server is ready to grow with the community. &nbsp;Being
  352. an open source community, we are interested in ideas from everyone, and
  353. have the connections and resources to be able to organize people to work

  358. cannot be stored on the server, but we want to fill it with new ideas and

  362. Project: Verify the Notes.ini Settings</b></span>

  364. <br /><span style=" font-size:12pt;font-family:Helvetica Neue">Our first
  365. community effort is around verifying that the notes.ini settings we have
  366. are still valid. &nbsp;If you are able to check one or more, or you know
  367. that one or more still work, or don't work, we'd love to have your input.
  368. &nbsp;You need to be cross certified to participate of course, so make
  369. that your first step. &nbsp;Then hop onto Discord and let us know you'd
  370. like to join and we will connect you with the project team.</span>

  407. the second in our series of OpenNTF’s “Domino for Newbies” sessions.</span>

  410. Administration for Newbies” session we will cover the components that
  411. make up a Domino server, mail routing functions of Domino, how to monitor
  412. your servers, security fundamentals, handling of IDs, Domino replication
  413. and high availability, and how to perform critical server maintenance.</span>

  415. new to Domino or are responsible for Domino but don’t feel you have a

  534. so expect to see a lot of Java for the business logic and thin JSP with
  535. CSS for the front-end.</span>

  537. <br /><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Regardless, all
  538. are welcome, whether you have time to contribute or not. I expect it will
  539. be useful just to see how a JEE app like that is structured, and participating
  540. in the chat will be helpful for me to guide the main development of the
  541. site.</span>
